Transparency

Mostly Transparent

Primary Technique

Parasocial leveraging

Leveraging the one-sided emotional bond you form with creators you watch regularly. Because you feel like you "know" them, their opinions carry the weight of a friend's advice rather than a stranger's. Creators can monetize this by blurring genuine sharing with paid promotion.

Horton & Wohl's parasocial interaction theory (1956); Reinikainen et al. (2020)

The surface message shares personal stories of psychiatric crisis resolution and spiritual awakening through doTERRA essential oils, positioning them as accessible plant medicine superior to conventional psychiatry. Beneath it, parasocial intimacy from host-guest sharing transparently funnels into brand-specific endorsements and host program promotions, though the audience expects this from the channel's holistic focus. No major covert mechanisms beyond standard podcast persuasion.

Provenance Signals

The content is a long-form podcast featuring deep personal testimonies, specific life experiences, and natural conversational flow that lacks the formulaic structure or robotic pacing of AI narration. The presence of a known host with a consistent history and specific, non-generic interactions with guests confirms human production.

Personal Narrative and Anecdote Hannah Stone shares a specific, vulnerable story about psychiatric hospitalization, misdiagnosis, and her personal recovery journey.
Speech Naturalness and Filler Usage The transcript contains natural conversational markers, self-corrections ('which it wasn't. It was a spiritual awakening'), and informal phrasing ('Mother Nature in my purse').
Host-Guest Interaction Dr. Kelly Brogan references specific relationships with the guests ('who I learned about through my own program') and personal experiences with her own home apothecary.
Contextual Nuance The discussion involves complex, niche intersections of spirituality, 'deprescribing', and specific brand usage (doTERRA) delivered with a distinct personal philosophy.

Worth Noting

Practical oil protocols for crisis, sleep, and maternal fatigue offer actionable entry points into sensory-based holistic support post-deprescribing.

Be Aware

Parasocial leveraging via host-guest intimacy transfers credibility to doTERRA endorsements and host programs.

Influence Dimensions

How are these scored?
Hannah's psych ward incarceration and vetiver oil rescue story (early in episode) → evokes relief and hope disconnected from pure information to prime trust in oils as 'Mother Nature in your purse'

Empathy elicitation

Using vivid personal stories to make you feel what a specific person is experiencing. By focusing on one individual's struggle, it overrides your ability to evaluate the broader situation objectively. A single compelling story can be more persuasive than statistics about millions.

Batson's empathy-altruism hypothesis (1981); identifiable victim effect (Schelling, 1968)

Psychiatry framed as misdiagnosis/incarceration of spiritual awakenings → excludes pharma successes or gradual recovery narratives → benefits holistic oil promoters like host and doTERRA affiliates

Single-cause framing

Attributing a complex outcome to a single cause, ignoring the web of contributing factors. A clean explanation is more satisfying and easier to act on than a complicated one. Especially effective when the proposed cause is something you already dislike.

Fallacy of the single cause; Kahneman's WYSIATI principle

Beauty Backroom live stream and Vital Mind Reset plugs after healing stories → primed by emotional journeys to feel like essential next steps for 'reclaiming agency'

Direct appeal

Explicitly telling you what to do — subscribe, donate, vote, share. Unlike subtler techniques, it works through clarity and urgency. Most effective when preceded by emotional buildup that makes the action feel like a natural next step.

Compliance literature (Cialdini & Goldstein, 2004); foot-in-the-door (Freedman & Fraser, 1966)

I was incarcerated in a psychiatric ward for 30 days with a misdiagnosis of bipolar, which it wasn't. It was a spiritual awakening. Right now, I'm at a stage where I'm calm. I'm in a receptive mode. And it's because I'm working with the oils. It's Mother Nature in my purse. The plant kingdom wants to serve us. It wants to be there for us. It has the keys and the solution to it all. They offer safety the way that nature offers safety, which is a non-judgmental, I'm here if you need me. We're not going anywhere. Lean back. But I've had people single-handedly just buy a bottle of balance and their anxiety profile has changed just by literally inhaling it. I think the oils are an invitation to enter into a conversation with God. Maybe you're doing a lot right. You're working out, you're eating decently, and still your body feels puffy, your hair feels thinner, and your skin feels creepy. You were taught to call that aging, but I am choosing not to. I don't believe that beauty is vanity. I believe it's a hobby. It's a skill. It's something that you can practice and learn at any age. So I'm hosting a free beauty backroom live stream event for midlife women who are ready to glow up and feel leaner, stronger, and more radiant than they have perhaps in their entire life. I will be sharing exactly what I've done over the past couple of months to do just that. So 2026 is your rebrand year. Come play with me, kellybroganmd.com forward slash BB. Hi, and welcome back to Reclamation Radio. I'm Dr. Kelly Brogan. And today I am offering what I hope will be an inspirational, catalytic masterclass of sorts on essential oils. I am sitting down to speak with Hannah Stone, who I learned about through my own program, Vital Mind Reset. That was a big part of her journey beyond bipolar disorder and her essential oil midwife and mentor, Claire Savage, who has also guided and counseled me in the nature of these oils and really helped me to understand the power of this medicine. I have explored and even in some cases certified in different forms of energy medicine, including homeopathy. I probably have hundreds of gemotherapy and homeopathy bottles and supplements in my home. And the expertise and really mastery that is required to be able to confidently work with these apothecaries is pretty extensive. Whereas the accessibility and immediate on-ramp when it comes to essential oils and their power to reconnect to God, to nature, and to offer you that sense that you've got yourself and your family and your pets, that you know exactly how to support the reconnection with the specific application of specific oils in a specific moment, I think is pretty unprecedented. And so I'm excited to help you orient towards these portals. We designed three protocols that I thought would be immediately supportive to those of you who are listening. One is for Dark Night of the Soul, so your essential oil toolkit for crisis. Another is for sleep ritual. And of course, the last is for tired mamas, my overachieving, under-receiving women, and how you can, with the application of doTERRA frankincense on the palate of your mouth, clear brain fog in seconds. So the oils that are presented here are really mostly in my order of operations, something that comes after you have cleared your slate. So working with a protocol like Vital Mind Reset to me makes the most sense also because your senses are opened and receptive. And so the yield that you'll get, and this was Hannah's experience too, post-VMR, the yield that you'll get from these spirits, really, these plant spirits, is going to be amplified when your system is settled and grounded and oriented. So we'll also talk about why essential oils are not just for fragrance in your environment or even on your body, why and how they are a deep medicine for your soul, your body, your mind, your spirit, why and how their application can reconnect you to God. God. And I do think this is how we create the new system that renders the broken system obsolete, as that Bucky Fuller quote suggests. I do think this is how we remind ourselves that the natural world is woven within the tissues of our own bodies. And this process is sensually pleasurable. And that's my favorite part of it. So I hope that this is really inspirational and opens up for you this new experience of belonging and this new experience of belonging to the natural world that it has for me. Enjoy. All right. Welcome, Claire and Hannah, to the show. Thank you. So I was very inspired to have my first three-way conversation with you two lovely ladies, because you are such powerful transmitters of this wisdom. And here's how I know that that's the case. I have been aware of essential oils for many, many years, probably, I don't know, 10, 15 years. And because I am a very sensual woman, right? Like every room that I enter, I want it to smell delicious. I want the lighting. I am, ask my kids, big lights are, it's like a vampiric repellent for me. Like anytime the lighting is off in a room, the temperature, even two degrees can determine my mood. So my sensual awareness has been almost like a burden in ways throughout my life. And so I'm always trying to cultivate like an olfactory experience for myself everywhere I go. And I really thought of essential oils as being just sort of like accoutrement, right? Like just sort of like a little accessory to my sensual life. And so I had, I don't know, I probably had like 30, 40 bottles of doTERRA just sitting around. And every once in a while, I put them randomly in a diffuser and the house would smell great for an hour or two. And then I'd go on my way. And it really wasn't until I began to learn more about Hannah's journey and specifically her, what I would describe as like a post initiatory experience. that I came to appreciate the, if we want to recruit this term, like the medicinal quality of these oils. And I've known for my entire career as somebody who supports deprescribing, that once you are initiated, you will attract exactly the type of subtle medicine that you need. Maybe it's homeopathy, maybe it's different kinds of shamanism or different kinds of body work. And of course, I watched many women attracted to essential oils and I thought, well, that's nice. Like I never really had a deeper appreciation. And when I first started to hear Hannah describe this as plant medicine, like a bit tongue in cheek, right? Like a bit referencing the zeitgeist of ayahuasca and psilocybin and all of these ceremonial plants that so many folks are working with in sometimes even hero's doses. I thought that that was just sort of a phrase you were borrowing. And I didn't fully understand the way that I do even now sitting here that you mean this, like you actually mean plant medicine. And so I have been oriented through you to Claire and Claire's wisdom. And now I have very intentional oils that guide me in ways throughout my day, from when I wake up to when I go to sleep. And I was telling you, Hannah, recently that I just came back from a trip to New York with my daughters, and it felt so different to me. I'm a born and bred New Yorker, and I've been in Miami for, at this point, like seven-ish years. and I occasionally would go up to New York and it's like a novelty, right? It's like, oh, this is fun, old New York. And this time I was sensitized to it in a way that I don't think, since I was literally born there, I have ever felt. And you suspected that this experience was potentially related to my reconnection to the natural world through the oils. And I thought that that was fascinating because there is a sense that I have now of a kind of almost companionship with and through these oils. And of course, the energy of both of you that feels with me as I am navigating this human experience. And it's a very different thing. I have an apothecary of supplements and natural medicine. I don't have pharmaceuticals in my house. And so I have, as many of us do, this enormous cabinet of just-in-case supplements, even though I don't take supplements on a regular basis. And the energy of taking a supplement is quite different, I'll say, than if I'm feeling irritable or flat or just a bit disconnected and I reach for a specific oil that one of you has counseled me about. That is what I'm talking about when I say companionship. I feel that I am joined by these energies in a way that's really beautiful. And I've been a longtime Lotus Way fan and the flower essences that Katie has procures. And so I have this awareness of the wisdom of the natural world as far as the both pleasure and therapeutic aspects of this relationship and what it can yield. And this just feels like the perfect compliment. So I'm delighted I have this opportunity to ignite this kind of intentional relationship, this awareness, and to talk a bit about why specifically these oils. Because I, again, I would just smell it, right? So I figure if I can buy eucalyptus at Whole Foods, why would I bother with all of the rigmarole of going specifically to doTERRA and specifically to this brand and, you know, does it really matter if it smells like eucalyptus, right? And so I've also had an education about the integrity of these products and how relevant, you know, that is on my levels. So I wanted to start with just a bit, Hannah, about how you got introduced to these oils in your journey beyond psychiatry and beyond your identification as a sick woman, right, who has issues incompatible with society and, right, your journey of learning to work with your energy and to take responsibility for your experience. I know that you credit, you know, these oils and Claire specifically and her support through and with these oils to your experience of self-embrace, you know, at this stage in your life. So I'd love to share a bit about that before we get into the specific kits and protocols and, you know, sort of starter opportunities that Claire has curated because I requested, you know, that we create these support systems for those who are listening so that they can know exactly how to touch into this world. So yeah. So Hannah, tell us a bit about that, about how these oils entered your life and why you think they have played the role that they have and why you're so passionate about them, because I know you won't shut up. Thank you, Kelly. First of all, thank you so much for having both of us. I'm so passionate about these oils. And the more I interact with them, you know, as time goes by, the more they reveal themselves to me. So I was first introduced to them through Claire. It was when I came out of my first psychiatric ward, just to give a little bit of background for that. I was, I had a spiritual awakening and I was incarcerated in a psychiatric ward for 30 days with a misdiagnosis of bipolar, which it wasn't, it was a spiritual awakening. When I came out of the psych ward, I was so heavily medicated and was having such bad panic attacks and depression. I was on the floor. I just could not function. My story is really, really intense. And Claire and I had been friends for, I think, about a year at that point. I went to her for reflexology treatment, and she had mentioned the oils. But again, I was just like, yeah, yeah, I've heard of essential oils. I like the smell, but whatever. It was just sort of a kind of a cool thing. and this one day I was literally on my hands and knees at home and there was a little knock on the door and Claire had this little tiny bottle of vetiver that she gifted me and she was like I think this will help you you know just try this to get in your body and vetiver is one of the most grounding oils on the planet it's a short bushy plant with super long roots and it gets it's about being you know rooted in your body and being grounded so she gave me this oil and it was the first time I'd had any interaction with the doTERRA product, which as you said, you know, is so pure and so ethically sourced. Upon smelling this oil, so I was on Psychotropics, you know, pharma having these major reactions. And it was like, she just gave me this nectar of the gods is what it felt like. And I smelled it and I had a visceral, spiritual reaction to it. And it just assisted me on such a huge level to get back in my body in the moment. And long story short, that's literally the only oil I had. I think for like a year and a half, I went into another psych ward and came out again. They changed my medication. I was back and forth to the psychiatrist and it was going from bad to worse. And then I discovered you, Kelly, on Joe Rogan. Saw your interview and was at a crisis point of needing to get off of my psychotropics or I was going to literally overdose and take my life. I was just at this like I can't live. If I'm going to live medicated, I'm going to die or I'm going to get off them. And that's when Claire really stepped in because I was ready. And yeah, I was ready to commit. And I believe I got Zendocrine, Copaiba, and a couple other full bottles of doTERRA oil. And it was right when I connected with you, Kelly, and I started VMR, Vital Mind Reset, so that I could get off my meds. When I was off the meds, that's when I really threw myself into doTERRA. And it was the biggest gift was going from the dependency and the belief of the dependency on the psych meds to have just having like, you know, instead of thinking this is going to save my life and the dependency on cracking open the pill bottle to having an alternative. It was just it felt really supportive to my system. And what happened was, I mean, what happened was I detoxed off of my psych meds in six weeks pretty seamlessly, which I know is really unusual. right? Like, I mean, you said it can take years, right? I was on the meds for three years. So it was a pretty seamless detox. And I used the oils. I started having a ritual in my bath. I'd have dead sea salt, work with vetiver, work with the oils. And what it did was it just supported me and awoke me to the power of this plant medicine, right? And long story short, But since then, I've been, you know, clean and sober off the meds completely. And they've changed me on a different level. I now have a relationship with these oils where I can like, you know, before this interview, I was nervous. I was excited and I was nervous. And I worked with vetiver to get in my body. I worked with pink pepper to get in my body. Frankincense created a container for me to feel safe and excited. Right. So I now reach for the oils all day, every day. really. In the morning, I reach for a certain oil, tangerine, a lot of citrus in the morning to sort of brighten my mood. I still cycle in my personality. I have high highs and low lows. Right now, I'm in a low, right? This would normally be a suicidal depression back in the day. That's how this would be. But right now, I'm at a stage where I'm calm. I'm in a receptive mode. I'm not particularly like, you know, titillated or inspired or anything like that, but it's not a depression. And it's because I'm working with the oils. And what they've done for me is they've given me a connection to nature. They've given me a tool that when I, you know, fly, flew out of Gatwick, when I left England to get away from, to escape the, just the system, I remember being in Gatwick and I was texting Claire and I had my little bottle of oils and it was like I had, you know, a rose bush with me and I had the frankincense tree in my purse. It's like you're just equipped when you're around this, like you said, being in the city, right? Being around all these personalities and energies. I can now enter situations that were really challenging for me before. I can do it with confidence and with like a toolbox. It's like a toolbox, right? It's mother nature in my purse, right? And under any and all conditions, I know that I am safe and grounded because I have this connection to the plant medicine. And I really, I mean, I define God as great outdoors, as nature, like Father Sky, Mother Earth. And so it's just this, not just, it's more than just a companion and a friend. And like you said, this very like sensual, often very like sexy companion, it just like lightens up my, you know, she brightens my day. And she, if I'm going to do a reading for someone, I'll work with Clary Sage, which opens, you know, my connection to the divine and Hawaiian sandalwood. So as I've been working with them, they've been training me on my connection to them and my wisdom. And it's like, it's like a spiritual awakening, literally every time I open a bottle, you know, and you know, Kelly, now that you've been introduced to these oils, it's like, you don't have to get them. Like I met, cause Claire is like, she knows she is my medicine woman. She has such a, she's like the smarty pants in the group, you know, as far as I'm concerned, She just knows everything about it. And I remember just thinking, I'm never going to know what she knows about them. And it's like, once you get them, they get you. They train you. It's like sitting with a tree. The tree takes over, in my opinion, when I'm meditating with a tree. I don't have to do anything. I just have to surrender to them. So, yeah, I mean, I can go on and on about it. But it's like this life force energy and this beautiful, yeah, like you said, apothecary that I now have that can and will support me under any and all circumstances. It's profound. So you've probably heard about diversifying investments and saving for the future. But what about becoming your own bank and opting out of high interest loans and difficult decisions about whether to sell off an asset? As a single woman and a mother, my whole system exhaled when I learned about the specific and unique whole life insurance policies that my now friends Josh and Ken offer. So unlike crypto stocks and even gold, you can borrow the money that you invest in this policy even days after you deposit it. You can actually choose never to pay it back because it comes off of the death benefit, which is exponentially more than you put in over the years. And your policy keeps compounding and growing as if you didn't touch it. There's nothing else based on my research, not one other type of investment that allows for that. Every other investment or asset depreciates the minute you liquidate it. And by the way, try not paying back your home loan or HELOC. The strategy is super flexible and it's super low stress. These guys go above and beyond to make sure that you and your family are set up with the best policy. And I've now referred them hundreds of folks who have given me the same feedback. I'm pretty skilled, I think, at attracting sleeper resources that are game changing. So I am delighted to put you on. Schedule a free call with them at kellybroganmd.com forward slash whole. I love that. And it's so clear the catalytic role, Claire, that you've played for many. And I am excited to give you the mic. I wanted to touch on one aspect of what you mentioned, Hannah, because when we've been talking about these different oils, you've mentioned to me a lot about trees, right? I know how much you love trees and feel this connection and the masculine energetics of a lot of the tree-based oils and resins like frankincense you mentioned. And it's interesting because just this morning, so my morning ritual these days, which is always in some sort of dynamic flux because I'm a double Gemini and I need a lot of stimulation and change and novelty. but however for the moment i'm playing with uh glamour magic right so i will have my water also i just recently saw veda austin speak and was re-inspired so i have my water that i put in front of me i light a candle i put on resonant music i look into a mirror and i speak to myself about my beauty about my abundance about all these things i speak it into the water into the mirror i have music, I have a candle lit, and then I have these specific oils that Claire helped me with. And I put them in a little, almost like a constellation. I felt compelled to put them in order, almost like little dolls on the ground because I had these ancestral feminine oils, and then all of these masculine oils. And then I had one that is a blend of rose and frankincense. And so it's like the right, the perfect, you know, sort of me at the helm. I don't know. It's just very cool and a beautiful way to invoke and recruit these energies of not only the natural world, but even your legacy, your ancestry and the dynamics of, let's say, even your your mother line or the many flavors of masculine support. and to open that to your senses, right? Because I a big visualizer and there a limitation to just you know envisioning these things in your mind eye And so when my eyes are open and I looking in the mirror to have this olfactory simulation it feels like the recruitment of a whole other dimension. It's very, very powerful. So to that end, Claire, I'd love to hear a bit about, you know, your story with the oils and how you've become this keeper, you know, in so many ways of this realm. You sent me a photo of your cabinet. And it's quite extraordinary what you have as a plant medicine woman, what you have at your disposal and obviously have experience with and know through your own relationship to these specific plants, what might serve somebody in a given situation. And then I'd love to get into the three protocols, we might call them, that we've touched on together so that people can know, you know, what to work with in these given situations. So yeah, tell us a bit about your story with them. So I see the oils just a little bit first because I felt something when you guys were both speaking. I see working with oils definitely as plant medicine. But what I see is that they are an invitation to the sacred always. So and they are here to serve. So literally, when you open up a bottle or when you see it, sometimes you don't even have to smell it. You just have to hold the bottle or you can call that essence in. It is a the oil is saying, how can I best serve you? This is my frequency. This is what I have to offer. Where do you need that in your body? Where do you need that in your life? How can I guide you. Like the plant kingdom wants to serve us. It wants to be there for us. It has the keys and the solution to it all. And it wants to serve us. But each of us has our own individual codes. So it depends. Some people are going to need blue lotus. Some people are going to need frankincense. Some people are going to need vetiver. And when I stand in front of my cabinet, I literally, when I have a client or when I know someone's coming to me, I literally stand in front of it and say, who wants to come play today? You know, and it is like they fall off the shelf. You know, it's like me, me, me. I'm like, cool. Great. And I don't even question it. And then I look at them and then I'm maybe speaking to the person. I don't know. And then they say this is happening. That's happening. I'm like, oh, OK, that's why Cyprus came today. That's why Frank is sent to get the day. Because there is an there's a each oil has a different frequency, a different medicine. And it's how you use that and call it in. And it's different times of life. So I've worked with oils all my life, kind of introduced to them by my mom, really. But when I've only found a terror about five years ago, and I remember I was the, I'm just going to go get some tea tree from the chemist. I'm just going to go and get eucalyptus. I know it's quite good for this. I know it smells quite good. But when I remember, and it was frankincense was the first so terrible flight opened. And I remember literally my I've seen Hannah do it, too, but my head just snapping back and my eyes rolling. It was kind of like, oh, there was a whoosh of, OK, this is something special. And I think when you when you connect with the oils in that way, you know, they are your medicine. You know, they're here to stay. You're going to integrate them in your life. And they then become your companions. They become your toolkit. And doTERRA, I believe, obviously, you know, it's everyone has different opinions. It's an MLM and I totally get that. I don't really run it that way. What it is, is I think it's about their sourcing and I think it's about the intent behind and the individuals that set up the company knew that these were plant medicines. They don't particularly sell them as that, but they knew that's what it was. And they knew they had to get them in people's hands. And I think they knew that this was one of the obviously there's lots of modalities, but this is one of the ways that the world can change. If we're hiring our frequency, if we're clearing all the time, if we're embracing the plant kingdom in this way on a daily, sometimes hourly basis, if it's needed, we're all moving into that frequency of being connected with nature. And their sourcing, their sourcing is impeccable. I cannot fault it. I keep, you know, for the first year, first two years, I kept looking for the holes. I kept looking for the where is the catch in this? And I keep going back to the sourcing stories and finding love and kindness and abundance and gratitude. And it brings me to tears. And I believe that when you hold a bottle of frankincense in your hand, it's the oldest trade route in the world. You can see it from the moon, the frankincense trail. When you hold that frankincense in your hand, you are going back eons. you're going back to the people that tapped those trees in the first hand you're going back to the people that traded it there is a reason why it was brought to Jesus' bedside but this can always of course be used for the negative but one thing doTERRA seem to be incredibly stringent about is protecting their people making sure that their sourcing chain is for the sourcer and therefore that frequency comes through that kindness comes through. So when you hold a bottle of frankincense in your hand, you know that families have been helped. And it's usually women, to be honest, because women are quite often the pickers or the saucers or the tappers that have been helped. You know that a family has managed to stay together and perhaps someone hasn't had to leave their village. You know that there's now clean water in the village and quite a lot of the oils are sourced in developing third world in the third world. But not all. and you know that the plant has been, and most importantly also, you know the plant has been revered and respected. To tap a frankincense tree, you can tap it only five times in its life. It's like a cut in the tree and that cut only can be used three times and then the milky sap forms and then it dries and crystallizes and dresden. That's three trips to that tree, communicating with that tree, talking to that tree, respecting it. Then that cut is left to heal And but you don't have to do it that way. You could cut, cut, cut your tree, get loads of frankincense, be done. The tree would die or not produced. You know what I mean? So there's a respect and a reverence. And that's just one example. I could go on about Blue Lotus. I could go on about the super mint blend, you know, vetiver. Every single oil is carefully collated and curated to make sure that it is with utter respect for the plant kingdom. So therefore, when you hold that bottle with you, you know, it's like, right, you guys respected me. I'm here now to serve. How can I serve? How can I how can I open these portals of frequency that I hold, you know, and that I'm with you? And my my passion and my joy is basically to shop oils for people. You know, when I kind of came to me and said, Kelly needs oils and we're going to we're going to go with that. It was like bloody fantastic. Where can I where can I get this woman to put oils on her body? You know, and then it just kind of starts to flow. It's like, am I an oil insurer? Maybe. I don't know. It works for me. However it is, they speak to me, you know, and when you use them with aroma points, you are opening up a vortex of energy. You're not just using the oil. You're then using the energy, the frequencies in your body, the meridians in your body to use that oil energy. so you're almost not even in charge anymore you know you're almost just like as my teacher says tiffany crawl she's amazing she says let them have their way with you like literally you know put this oil on a point and let it take you where it has to take you and the beauty of it is that that will change for each person that will be a different response for each person you know my history i suppose is um my medical initiation i know that's um a word that you use kelly and i was thinking a lot about this has been really really poorly lots of labels lots of diagnosis being house found all through my second pregnancy not being able to leave the house lots of respiratory stuff oxygen tanks they were talking about da da da da da I had a toddler and a baby and I remember breastfeeding my son and looking down and thinking this has to stop this has to stop this is not the way I want to be a mother and it wasn't actually oils at first it was herbs There was a herbalist in the village and I went to her. She was amazing. We looked at what was happening in my body. I developed a yoga practice and came out, as we all do, kind of came out of that closet of medication and labels and diagnoses and realized, OK, I am never, ever going to do that again, ever. And then the oils came in. The oils are how how I completely maintain mine and my family's health. You know, the kids are like starting, you know, mom, I think I need an on guard. Yeah, cool. Mom, I think I need balance tonight. Right. Let's get serenity in the diffuser. You know, it's like they had learned a way of being my family. My whole family is neurodiverse, my husband and my kids. And doTERRA came to me just before COVID, before my daughter was diagnosed. But both my son and husband had been and we were struggling. We were struggling as a family. You know, when you live with neurodiversity, you are built. The world is not built for you. You're living in a different timeline. And these oils have been masterful in allowing primarily me, but allowing my family to be in their true selves, in their true essence. I'm regulating nervous systems and managing the household. I'm making sure that I'm OK so that I can be all right for them. We're just the oils to show up for us. And I am eternally grateful for that gift of them. And so why wouldn't I want to put oils in everybody's hand? Why wouldn't I want to say, right, this is what you need. And it is it is. Here's a bottle of balance. Here's the serenity. Here's that. Some people fly with it. Other people find it. It can be you know, they just need the one. And other people need the big shebang of it all. It just depends. It just depends on where you're at and where what support you need. Really. You know, does that answer? Absolutely. Yeah, no, I'm just laughing because I'm a big shebang type for sure. And you also expanded my awareness of the different, without sounding too medical about it, the different delivery methods of the oils. And it's interesting because now that I'm listening to you, I'm reflecting on the fact that I had worked with an animal communicator named Lisa Tully out of Ireland for six months with my cat Mushu to support him. And her primary modality is offering essential oils to cats. But they just sniff it. And I remember it. That's it. and they tell you whether it's their medicine or not based on you learn to see like their little like tongue lift up here or if he turns away and then comes back and so she educated me on how to read his body language but all that he was ever doing was sniffing and i remember initially again because i come from the allopathic world of like sledgehammer you know interventions and so i remember thinking like how could that possibly do anything like if it's just smelling something Isn't that just almost cosmetic? How could that possibly be truly medicinal? I wasn't fully convinced at that point. So clearly, I've been on this journey of appreciating the subtle energies of these volatile oils. And you've talked about anointing different locations. I know that in some cases, you ingest the oils, you aerosolize them, diffuse them. So maybe before we dive into the specific protocols, can you give an overview of what, like, what are the options really? And in what setting might you consider one method or mode of delivery over another? Or is that meant to just be intuitive? Because I like to introduce people to a menu of options and then they can, it's like almost a container, right? Then they can feel into what is most appealing. And I think a lot of what's beautiful about this kind of medicine is that it is about preferences and pleasure. If you open a bottle and it feels good, I think you would suggest that that means you should keep working with it. There's no forcing something that's repellent or just because it's good for me and it's what's indicated now, kind of a theory around this. So, yeah, maybe you can give a little bit of an overview of just the many different ways that we can interact with. these oils? One thing, actually, I was the same with olfactory. I was like, smell it? Why, really? And then when I looked at the chemistry and the science, like within 30 to 60 seconds, the olfactory system is integrating the essential oil molecule. They are so tiny, they cross the blood-brain barrier within seconds, literally. So if you are using a high-quality pure oil, within 60 seconds, if you smell an oil, it is having an effect on you. If you smell a blend, which is something doTERRA are really good at is the blends. It's one of the things I love about them. You're smelling maybe 8, 9, 10 oils. You're having this massive impact just by smelling. My daughter's so smelling, obviously. I also have a cat story. We have a Dane Maisie. She's been with us 14 years. I have brought her back from the brink three times with a digestive blend called Zengest. And that has literally, and in fact, it happened two weeks ago. And again, my husband was like, what? Just put a few drops on her basket. And I was like, yep, just do that. It will have its way with her. She will come around and literally within a few hours, we were staying up with her through the night, within a few hours, she's like back in the room or not. You know, if it was her time, it was her time. But this gave her mischief. So you just put drops. What is what is around her basket? Like literally in her little bed or something? Yeah. And only only literally just one or two drops. This digestive blend is in one of my protocols. It is absolutely amazing. I use it for my kids all the time. It helps you digest and process. So my intention with that is, Maisie, if you have something to digest and process and this is what you need to do to then go to to be alive, to stay with us, then this blend will help you. Or if you need something to digest and process to then leave, this blend will help you. Either way, it's it's the process. And there's a there's a puppy actually of a friend's that has been the same. Like they are profound with animals. And because animals don't have all the filters we do, they work super quick because they're not into how much, what, what does it do? I don't know. I don't understand. The animal's just like, yeah, got that frequency. OK, cool. I can work with this, you know. So olfactory system smelling topically, obviously, is the next one we always want to dilute before we put on the skin, mainly because the oils are so volatile that if I put a drop of frankincense here, it would it would, you know, kind of disappear quite quickly. Whereas if I put it on topically, if I dilute it in a carot oil, it's going to stay on my skin. It's going to go into the bloodstream. Also, sensitivity as well. Ingest is debatable. I never ingested oils before I found doTERRA oils. And now I do all the time. I find them amazing that way. the uh french need to get this right i think the french school of aromatherapy say yes and the english say no and i just you know i don't follow the rules so i just leave it up to whether people feel that that's right for them or not in the bath in epsom salts in the diffuser um i a lot of the way i use the oils is i become the diffuser for my kids my daughter is very sensory and she can't cope with the oil so i will make up sprays that we put in her room we'll put drops on her pillow So if I know that she's going through a hard time, I'll put a couple of drops of geranium in my hair so that I know when I hug her, she's going to get that self-love, that nourishment, that frequency going in through her olfactory system. It's just what it is when I had the oils is I no longer felt alone. I knew that I would always have something that had my back, either for me personally to help my own overwhelm or to help with whatever I was going through or to support my family in it. and that's just like it's and it's an amazing feeling you know and i think that's kind of what hannah was saying too is like and that's what we both share is like we've just got friends you know that we're going to use and we know which points to use them on so yeah and i love the idea i do exactly the same this is a menu these are the blends you can have them touches you can have them in singles you can buy a diffuser you can get a big bag of epsom salts that you put by the bath. Every morning I wake my son up with two drops of Balance, which is a blend of trees, rub it through his curls before he wakes up in the morning. So before he even opens his eyes, the transition is a grounded, smoother transition. He has a bowl of Epsom salts in his morning bath with copaiba and sometimes a drop of vetiver if he's heightened. He's an aquarium, so he's very very air, very mind. So sometimes he needs to be in his body. He comes out of that and then, yeah, we're good to go. It's like then the next stage, what's in the diffuser? Let's get some citrus in the diffuser. Let's keep everybody in a nice uplift mood. So it's just this beautiful plant medicine cabinet that, I mean, I could just go on and on and on forever, you know, that you could then use. My daughter comes down, adaptives literally as a blend that saved her life when she was going through her diagnosis. She's now home ed with me and home and has been, and we've got her right through to exams. And that's the blend. Even now I have it in my car and she just smells it. And she's back, back in the room. We kind of call it back in her body, back in that space of, okay, I can do this. Because it stops the, what the oils do actually is it stops the disconnect. It brings you back into that connected place. And when I handed Hannah that little bit of vetiver, that was what was happening. It was stopping her disconnect. I knew she had to be I knew she was going to die and thank you Kelly for your program I remember so well where I was sitting where she said I found this program and I think it's going to save my life and she mentioned your name it was the first time I heard that name and we were sitting there and I knew it too it was like okay this is like a kind of you know we were right it was kind of you know Thelma Louise we were riding out in the sunset and like it's either going to work or not you know but I knew that vet of a Bedivere, I think, is one of my top three. Don't leave home without it. I knew it was going to connect her in a way that I couldn't or connect her in a way that I don't think any other oil could. It's a grass. So it's a goddess. It's feminine. It's not a tree. But it has roots that go down to about 13 feet. And the roots are vertical, not horizontal. Most grasses go down like that. And it just goes. So it's used. and it's most of its produce comes from most mostly grown in Haiti but it's used for soil erosion so it keeps fields and cliffs together and it puts you in your body like when you smell it when you smell a high quality vetiver it puts you in your body and into your womb like nothing else and I knew that that's Hannah was up here and we had to get her back in here to feel all the feels and then make the decisions that she had to make to get through you know and again it has a really powerful sourcing story. You know, there were these villagers that needed clean water. So the roots for Vetifer are, unlike most grasses, they're vertical, not horizontal. So this goddess of an oil is going to ground you to the center of the earth. 13 feet, that's like two big guys grounding you into the center of the earth. You know, it's like she has got you, but she's a grass. So she flexes and she moves. She's not like a tree where you're going to be grounded and rooted. She's going to give you that flex. And this is the beauty. If you look at the plant, if you look at how it grows, where it grows, how it will lead you to its medicine, you know, and that's the beauty. And then if you respect that, so doTERRA went into Haiti and said, we need a really high quality vetiver oil. We need to let the plants grow from 12 to 18 months to get the perfect intensity that we need. We're going to pay you a premium to not cut those plants down too early to try and make the quick buck. Also, what do you need? Because if you're going to do this and stay in your village and do this, we need a clean water source. We're walking a mile and a half with our kids. No problem. Right. Let's work together. Let's get you a clean water source so you can be here. So that sense of community, that sense of the goddess coming into this village life. When Hannah was smelling that, that's all going into her. You know, she's got community. She's got groundedness. She's got vetiver. She's got the roots. It's all together. And in that one hit, her life starts to move. Things start to shift. Of course, there's accountability. And of course, she had to make the decision she did and show up for herself. But again, it's an invitation. There's an invitation there to, OK, this is what I can offer you. Now, what are you going to do with it? You know, where are you going to go with it? I'm going to talk forever. Where do you want me to go next, Kelly? This is so, I mean, it's so poetic and inspirational. And I think part of the reason why a lot of us have these cosmetic collections, you know, that kind of collect dust or are occasionally diffused for guests who come over, you know, is because it can be quite overwhelming. I mean, there are dozens and dozens and dozens of these, not only specific oils, but also then these blends that, you know, Deterra puts together and to know where to begin. So that's always, you know, my passion is to support those who are in my ecosystem with the first step, right? So and then, you know, you're off on your magic carpet ride. So in service of that, I thought it would be really helpful to give these specific first steps. And we're going to talk about three different, you know, kinds of profiles of need, right? So the first is around crisis and dark night of the soul, because what would it be like if you had this kind of sensual support, this kind of connected conduit to the natural world and all of that energetic invocation, you know, as you orient towards adversity with curiosity and a kind of embrace of what is, right? So that was one. Another is around sleep because I don't particularly have any sleep-related issues. However, that's a big ritual time for me. and that was one of the things that I asked you was, what would be fun in terms of even lucid dreaming or playing with the energies of sleep and how could I use the oils to explore that? Of course there also folks who have what might be described as insomnia and if there anything that can take you from stability to a psych ward it probably a couple nights of insomnia let alone weeks or months And so what would it be like to feel supported in a way that you're in charge of? And then, of course, there is the profile of so many women who are listening, which we decided to call the tired mamas. But these women who are just burnt. They're burnt, they're taxed, they're overwhelmed, they're foggy and what could they do as a pleasure ritual to support their system as they transition into better self-containment, self-husbanding and all the rest. So yeah, let's start with the dark night and maybe you can say some words. We've, of course, put these together and it's, as far as I remember, it's kellybroganmd.com forward slash doTERRA, where you can access the kits that Claire has put together. And I think you have very generously, I don't know how scalable this is, Claire, but you've offered to consult as a part of these packages, which was for me, the real ignition. It was hearing your poetry, your wisdom, and feeling like I had a resource, a mentor, really. It is a mentorship in this realm. And And that's all I needed was really just one recording from you to orient me. And I felt confident to begin this relationship. So you're including that as a part of these kits, which I think is extraordinary. And we'll make sure that that link is in show notes and everywhere that people need to access it. So, yeah, let's start with the dark night kit because none of us are strangers to this level of crisis. and know that we take it very seriously, you know, what it might be to feel that disoriented, that confused, that level of nihilism, that sense of profound soul-level disconnection from why it is that we might have chosen to incarnate in these sensory bodies for this experience. So yeah, maybe you can share a bit about that kit, Claire. First of all, I love the name of it. It's my favorite named kit, and that's absolutely brilliant. I love the phrase curious about adversity. I love that phrase. It actually just made me want to cry because that's what it feels like this kit is for. It's like if there was a way through and if there was companions that were going to come with me through this crisis, what would those companions be? And that's kind of where I came from it. And I went back and forth and back and forth. And actually, I mean, I just asked the oils and then they just drop in. So there's a different protocol. And yeah, you're absolutely right. I'm going to record a video. I can't not basically. I'm going to record a video of the protocols because I love talking about the laws and the protocols and everyone should know how to use those. And I think if we go back to what you originally said, this is where it often falls down as people buy a kit from the terror or somebody gives them some oils and they sit there and they don't know their power or almost it's a little bit scary. like you know you don't have knowledge you don't know what to do you know they're powerful but so this is a way of making it accessible making it your own and quite often once people have the kit and the protocols a bit like yourself kelly then they just fly with it you know they just they just roll with it a really actually talking about sleeping oils just a little aside one really nice way i say people is if you want to get to know an oil just use that oil or have it with you in your pocket, start a conversation with it, put it in your handbag, put it in your car, take it with you. Let's see what drops in through the day. And another really nice way is to put under your pillow at night, see what dreams you have, because the spirits of that oil, if you like, will come to you and tell you, you know, what this is, what this is, what this is, what my gift is for you in that way. So Dark Knight of the Soul, we're starting with Bergamot, which actually I have in the diffuser, Bergamot and Cypress, both of them. So Bergamot is, again, an amazing sourcing story. We're going to use that on Shen Men. It is the oil of balance and self-love. I have it in a three kind protocol, which is three ways to be kind to yourself. I start most mornings with this ritual. My son and I kind of do the points together as a way of balancing the right and left hemisphere. It is a citrus and it became very easily copied. I am going to tell you the sourcing story because it's just magic. Very easily copied and synthetic bergamot flooded the markets. And it's quite an expensive oil to harvest and to distill. And it's labor intensive. And all the people that were growing bergamot naturally just lost their market, completely lost it. So there's a little bergamot vineyard in the southern bit of Italy and down right down in the toe, I think, of the boot of Italy. And they just lost this whole family, lost their business. But the grandfather kept tending to the vines, kept tending to the trees, kept sweeping the yard. This is all there. You can see him. You can go and interview him. You see him being interviewed. and when doTERRA realized because they add oils all the time okay we want a really reliable authentic properly sourced bergamot they found this guy and the grandfather was kind of like see i told you it would come back it would come back and now that whole business has been revitalized and so when i think about bergamot i think about the grandfather sweeping his yard being in the balance being in the flow loving himself and his plants enough to know that it would come good that it would come good. And that's very often the message that I feel when I'm holding that. So that's going to be the start of your day. We're going to Blue Lotus, Waking the Goddess, an amazing oil. Literally, it is, let me have a moment with my Blue Lotus. She just kind of sends you to a place. She's a goddess oil. We are intently calling the goddess in to be here with us in the crisis. It's a very, very special oil in Egyptian heritage, very special flower and oil with Buddhism as well. It's a lily. It's hand harvested. These people are wading in. It comes from China. They're wading in waist high. There's no pesticides. If the snails come, they pick the snails off. They pick their only blooms when the sun opens. And I think that's so lovely. If you think about the energy that Blue Lotus is going to bring that blooming sun to this dark night, you know, you can't ask for better than that. When I need that light, I reach for my blue lotus all the time. So she's there, definitely on a certain point as well. Frankincense, if you're having the goddess then you've got to bring the king, Frankincense, the king of oils. His chemistry is amazing. We've talked about the sourcing and his gnarly trees. He's coming from a man in the desert. He's coming from the depth, you know. He's like reverent. He brings respect. He brings your truth. He doesn't let you away with anything. So, you know, he's not going to allow you to, you know, kind of be in the victim mindset. The two of them combined are beautiful. He's going to say, this is your truth. The truth is we're in crisis. How are we getting out of this, babe? Where are we going now? You know, where are we walking with this? Cyprus, there's a beautiful point that I'm going to do with this called spiritual burial ground that my teacher, it was one of the first points I learned, And it is an emptying out a spiritual burial ground. I mean, that gives you enough as it is. And Cyprus is a beautiful tree, quite a feminine tree, but a tree. So you've got that masculine rootedness, but it allows you to be in the flow. Cyprus says, let's get in the boat. I know we're banging against the sides, but let's get in the boat. Let's get in the flow of this. You know, let's be with it. Let's be curious. And I love that. And then what I've done with Progues, so I've done a protocol and then I've gone some kind of first aid. things so these are the these are one of the things that do tarot do is they do really good roll-ons touches so this is forgive this is throw it in your handbag rolling up the lung points forgive is probably my most favorite blend i heard that forgiveness is the fastest frequency on the planet and that if we all stepped into forgiveness like it would all so much would change you know and forgive is a blend and it's really interesting because i've given it to people before and they're like oh and it's kind of like and then they come back to me a week later and they're like that was everything i needed and i was like i know i've had that relationship with forgive too like it's not it's not oh that's really pretty and lovely and floral you know there's some oils in there that are going to bring you home to that to that frequency to that energy so that's your kind of first aid vetiver we can't do it on night of the sold out better that's like my homage to hannah and where this whole kit was created from. You know, we're not leaving her behind. Again, another goddess. You've heard about the 13 feet and everything there. I did include a supplement with this. Doterra do good supplements. I didn't take them all the time, but when they're there, I need them. This is a detox blend, a Zendocrine. A really good detox blend because I'm just looking what's in it here from my notes. Tangerine, rosemary, geranium, juniper berry, and cilantro. So you've got oils in there of self-love. You've got oils of transition. You've got oils around fear. you know if you're detoxing off something there's a lot of fear even though you don't want to be here you're letting go of something it's kind of that on that i say to my clients all the time you know you're standing on the edge of the cliff and the angels behind you are saying jump jump and you're saying but there's nothing there you know and they're saying just jump and it's like the juniper is that is that i use it in my son's diffuser when he's in night terrors and stuff it is that real dark night of the soul it brings it brings the fear to you and says we've got this we can work through it and so i love that it's in that that supplement blend and a perfume a perfume something that you can wear all the time behind the wrist behind the ears again another blend arise and the reason i chose arise is because it has melissa and melissa is a very high price oil she's amazing high price oil and you would blow your whole budget on a bottle of melissa she can come but melissa has melissa is in arise and she brings she cracks through she brings divine light i use her on the roof of my mouth and when there is low mood there when there is times where i just show me the light so she brings that lemon grapefruit citrus osmanthus new beginnings, Siberian fur, bringing perspective. This is the perfume you're going to be wearing every day. You're going to be bringing that to. So every day you're breathing that in and bringing that to the situation. So that's my kit. Four oils and a protocol, two first aid, a perfume and a supplement. And it's powerful. It's going to be amazing. The doors are open to my 2026 live Audacious Embodiment event in Miami, May 15th through 17th. And I'm calling all of my ladies who are ready to stop pretending, performing, curating, and managing a rigid identity. This weekend, we will be focusing on four Ps because I love alliteration. Pattern Disrupt. We are going to lay fresh snow on your mountain so that you can ski new tracks because experiences that take you out of your routine and stimulate all of the right conditions allow you to shift your identity even after one weekend. The next B is permission field, because when you know what's possible, when you are modeled and templated a new breadth of experience for yourself as a woman, you get to be more of yourself. And here's the thing. When you're attending a retreat or a training, you need to choose a space holder who has owned more of his or her shit than you have, because they can expand that permission field for you. And if you ask any of my friends or my family, they will tell you that I have done my share of pivots and am pretty practiced at being bad and wrong so that I can facilitate this expansion of your permission field in the space of just a few days, maybe even just a few minutes. The next P is pleasure because it deserves to sit in the proper place in the hierarchy of your priorities as an everyday experience. I also am very focused on creating the conditions for the pleasure that we experience as women together. It is so healing and so powerful. The last P is polarity because your girl just came off of a David Data teacher training. I have many nuggets to share and I have a very particular perspective on what it is to be a woman in her feminine power. And no, it is not rose petal baths and rage catharsis in groups on retreat. OK, the second edition of Audacious Embodiment Live will feature more practice time with yours truly by request of the previous audience members. and also, of course, daily dance, sensual movement, and transformational practices that will expand your experience of your own body as a woman and create the conditions for more aliveness in your daily life and a total rebrand on who you get to be as a woman in this world. I cannot wait to squeeze you in Miami this May. The link is in show notes and also at kellybroganmd.com forward slash A-E. Amazing. Amazing. And just, again, even just listening to this, it feels like the fabric of reality has more depth and meaning. And when I, you know, as somebody who has, I think, professionally studied the dark night of the soul in addition to experiencing it personally many times over that, you know, I think I wrote in my second book, I don't know, that suffering ends where meaning begins. And there's something that you offer in this that is not a fix. Right. And I know it's sort of the first date is like tongue in cheek. Right. Because we have that psychology that says, I need to remedy this. Right. But the the deeper ethos, I think, of your work and these oils is a harmony. right and and that harmony i think is so readily transmitted through the the meaning that you're accessing when you when you work with these plant medicines it's it's a meaningful relationship and i think having this framework i mean that's so much what vital mind reset is too it's just it's a it's a framework you enter into the framework you comply with the framework and then you get to play so again that's my sort of order of operations is like first the masculine structure And then the feminine has its riverbanks within which to flow and turn and roil around. So I love having these. It just feels really good to have this kind of protocol that is based on your vast experience. I mean, how else would I have the idea to put an oil in my upper ear versus on the roof of my mouth versus just sniffing it in my car or keeping it in my purse? So anyway, I love having this this direction, Claire. It's just amazing. So, OK, perfect. So so let's move on to the second one that we put together, which is related. Right. You and I were sort of like, is this really even a separate thing? Because so often in the dark night moments, sleep is what comes under fire. Regardless, you know, having support for a sleep ritual, we thought would be another helpful place for some folks to start. So maybe we can move on to that. Sure. And I think, as you say, it can be a bolt on. That's why I kept it kind of less in depth. Hannah, did you want to say something? It looked like you wanted to say something about that kit, the Dark Night of the Soul. I wanted to just add my experience to the protocol that Claire just shared. First of all, isn't it? I just could have listened to Claire all day. You're so poetic about the protocols and the oils and stuff. But I've used this specific order of oils during a dark night of the soul. And I was just reflecting, as you were saying, Claire, I didn't really realize this. When I would normally have like a panic attack or dark, I mean, I've been kind of chronically suicidal in my life, a lot of my life. And I've reached for benzodiazepine, which works pretty well, right? But what it does is it just numbs everything, right? And it relieves. And my experience with this dark night of the soul protocol is that because I understand the oils and I trust them, I really, really believe in them. I enter the darkness with a confidence that I've never had before and understanding that I am to feel the feelings and not avoid them and not numb them and not judge them. And it's just it's a completely different experience. It's, you know, that saying, this too shall pass, it really gives like teeth to that saying because I know I'm moving through it. I'm not just bypassing or acting out or reaching for an addiction to get through it. It's like I enter into, like Kelly talks about, entering into the upset, feeling it and getting the support from the plant medicine and God through the oils that I wouldn't have otherwise. And what I realize is I have less nights like that. I have less dark nights of the soul, right? And once you have these oils in your possession and you've gone through it, it sets you up for success. I feel like you're not going to have as many other dark nights because you have the medicine in you, you know, first of all. But when they do come upon me, I know how to enter it without, you know, calling the suicide hotline or just, you know, wallowing in self-pity and fear. It's so, so powerful, right? And with anxiety attacks, too, which, you know, I've had so many times, not anymore because I work with the oils, but it's that part of having a panic attack is the panic of the panic attack. You know, like the fear of the fear. And what these oils do is I don't fear anything anymore. Like if I feel depressed, I'm like, OK, this is, you know, this is a feeling. There's something behind it. And my body, mind and spirit are supported with these oils. And, you know, having a practitioner mentor at the other end of my, you know, on WhatsApp is very helpful as well. I just wanted to add that because it's so much in experience. It's just so profound, so much more profound than my dependency on benzodiazepine, you know. So I just want to share that with you. Thanks, Anna. Yeah, I love that. And I can see that there was something there. And I think it's really, really potent to have someone that has experienced this to then bring that to it as well. And it definitely, definitely is not a fix. I think if I'm truly honest, I think before my my experience with the oils was a fix. And now I see it totally as companions and it is a descent. This is a dark night of the soul, but it is a descent. It's the Anana myth of descent, you know, and it's like, OK, here we go. But we've got these points and we've got these oils and it is they offer safety in a way, the way that nature offers safety, which is a nonjudgmental. I'm here if you need me, the earth, the grass, we're not going anywhere. Lean back, but we're not going to take it away. We're not going to numb it. We're not going to take it away. We're not going to try and fix it. We're just holding the space for that to to for the descent to then come good. That's what it feels like, that kit, actually, when I think about it more. So sleep ritual. Otherwise, we will be here for hours. Love it. So my jam. Right. Sleep ritual. So really simple. Three protocols. Lavender. You can't do a sleep ritual without lavender. She's so sweet. She's so heavenly. You will never have a bit like the bed of her. You will never have smelt a lavender until you smell doTERRA lavender. I've had people look at that and go, wow, that's lavender. I'm like, yes, because their body is having that visceral somatic effect. It's very high in lindalol, same as bergamot, actually. So it's going to have an effect on your gamma receptors. It's going to have an instant, within 60 to 90 seconds, effect on your nervous system. You know, so lavender, we're using it on a kidney point on your feet. So we're going to ground right down. We're going to offer that to really bring that in. That's like your kind of introductory baseline. Serenity is the blend that rules my house at nighttime. It goes on every diffuser right through the house. It is the signal to the whole community, my whole tribe. It's winding down time. OK, we're starting to wind down. And the beauty, the beauty actually of using oils, particularly with the neurodiverse that need their routines and their structures, that whenever we travel, the diffuser comes with me, the Serenity Blend comes with me in the hotel room, in the caravan, wherever it is. It goes on and their bodies already have the signal without me even having to think. it's like ah okay serenity is a powerhouse lavender cedarwood hoewood lang lag marjoram roman camomile vet of a villanelle sandalwood it's calming soothing sacred oils like you cannot get better than this i remember the the serenity blend um that was a hannah's head snapping back moment as well i remember when i gave to you and i think actually you know it's sold as a kind of nighttime soothing blend but for my son who is high sometimes on his anxiety and i know for hannah for you it was a day blend it was this blend is getting me on the bus you know because it's calming my nervous system marjoram in there amazing nervous system resitter lang lang inner child healing you know our anxiety is just our inner child going what the actual you know where are we going with this and the lang lang goes oh it's a cooling soothing oil you know roman chamomile vanilla nourishing warming sand with the deep sacred like this is one of my favorite blends And actually, it's now in a Serenity stick. Well, I feel like a bit on QVC shopping channel there. And the reason I like this, this actually goes in my bag. This is my daytime throw in the bag. It sits in the car, too, is that it's like a kind of a wax. It's a stick. So it's not the oil. And it's it's just everybody that buys it. They text me going, oh, and I'm like, yeah, I know. And then we're going to peace. Peace. I had to ask my husband to get this out of his car today. I'm like, leave me your peace because he takes it everywhere with him. Again, vetiver in this, lander, elanglion, frankincense, clary sage, marjoram and spearmint. So again, this blend offers deep reassurance, grounding and holding space for all your voices. Spearmint, I put it on here before I spoke this morning or this afternoon. Spearmint holds space for your voice. So peace. We are going right down the vagus nerve, right down to the womb from the forehead with this. This is your I settled role And in fact if you only had those three this would be your anxiety your sleep your everything It such a great bolt on for this protocol My husband as I said has it in his car I have it beside my bed. And that is the thing about the oils. It's working them into your life, you know. So I have my kitchen cup, the drop of lemon oil that I take every morning. I have my bedtime cup that just sits there with peace and balance and serenity. I have my little bag that I take out with me. My daughter has oils beside her bed. You know, it's like integrating them in. And so they're just there and they just become part of it rather than, oh, this is a special time that I do oils. You know, it's like these are now integrated into my life. These are here helping me. This is nature. I'm walking. It's a bit like kind of, you know, the snow white thing as she walks and the flowers come up behind her. You know, that's what it's like in my house. It's like, you know, wherever I go, the oils are there. So so that's your sleep ritual protocol that is going to put you to sleep. Like I defy anybody with that, those blends there. That's going to hold you. We're also using them on points that are going to really bring you back. And it's all it's always going to be bringing you back into your body. Feel the feels and then let's get to the work. Let's get to sleep. Let's get to what we need to do. Pre-bedtime is then just the blend I talked about for my cat and saving my cat. It helps to digest and process through the day. I have used this blend rolled on my kids' feet. It's quite a bedtime routine that I use for them often when there's a lot. You know, when you get that as a mom, you get the right, it's bedtime. Thank Christ for that. And then at 830, it's like, oh, I haven't told you all this stuff that happened to me that I now have to process with you. And it's like, right, OK, I thought we were kind of done. So Serenity is going in the in the diffuser and Zen Jest is doing that nice little bit of processing for me. So I don't get so much of it. That aside, I think this is a really lovely pre-bedtime thing. You take it with your evening tea or hot water or whatever. It's going to help move stuff through that you don't necessarily even have to think about or process. It's going to take all the edges off all those things that when you're lying down in bed and think, oh, I have to think about that. You don't because then just has already done the work. It's processed it through anise, peppermint, ginger, caraway, coriander, tarragon, fennel. Amazing, amazing blend. So it's digestive physically. That's what I love about the oils. So the chemistry is there. So digestion can happen in so many ways. Of course, it can happen when you eat the big meal of pizza and tacos or whatever it is. But it also can happen when you have a big conversation or when you've had a big healing session or when some podcast has triggered something and you're like, oh, OK, that makes sense to me. You know, that is all digestion and processing. And these oils will work on whatever level you need them to. Is it spiritual processing you need tonight? OK, we got you. Is it the fact that you ate loads of pizza? We got you. You know, it's like bringing that down. Balance. We're inhaling balance this time. A couple of drops in the hand, same as I do with my son in the morning. But this is a beautiful blend in the evening. I can read you balance. It's amazing. Spruce, Howard, Frankincense, Blue Tansy, Blue Camomile, Osmanthus. Again, all the trees, new beginnings. Beautiful, beautiful. I've had people single handedly just buy a bottle of balance and their anxiety profile has changed just by literally inhaling it. You know, because, again, why wouldn't it? You know, this chemistry, it's not this is science. It's not it's not, you know, which you woo woo. This is science. This these these oils, because they're pure, because they have not been, you know, chemicalized or synthetic, that chemistry is interacting with your system. It's going to have an effect whether actually you like it or not. Whether you go deeper with that and allow it to lead you to a deeper understanding of yourself is then up to you. And that's where the curiosity, I think, comes in. And what are we finishing with? Oh, serenity blend. Yeah. In the diffuser. So that's your kind of pre bedtime. Zen, Jess, balance, serenity blend in the diffuser. I do that every every night in this house, pretty much. And then we've got the specific protocol I do in bed most evenings. I will. I do it with my son and my daughter before they go to bed and we'll all do it together. And that's just that signal to the body that, OK, it's it's time for rest. It's an invitation for and sleep is sacred. You know, rest is sacred. It's that invitation to bring the sacred. One of the things I did want to say is. Yeah, I do. I think the oils are an invitation to enter into a conversation with God, however that shows up for you in your life. You know, it's an invitation to access that divinity within you and within nature. And again, you can go with that where you will, really. You know, it's just up to you how much you want to listen. And it's up to you how much you want to delve into that. And it's totally appropriate wherever that is in your space, I think. So that's sleep ritual. It's a lovely little bowl, Tom. That's beautiful. And I especially love the connection with the German New Medicine perspective about these indigestible morsels and how those can be, you know, primarily psychic in nature, right? emotional conflict shocks that then result in all sorts of things like diarrhea and, you know, nausea, vomiting, etc. So that interdimensional relevance of digestion from the emotional to the physical is invoked by, you know, just that blend and why that's important before you go to bed. It's just so obvious. And, you know, it would be challenging to source another kind of comprehensive support. So I think that that's why this is so, so beautiful and so powerful. So amazing, Claire. All right. So my favorite demographic, the tired mamas, the overachieving, under-receiving women that I am an ambassador for and how we can support them specifically with these oils. I love this suggestion and I haven't ever really done a tired mama's kit, sleep, of course, and, you know, spiritual crisis and stuff. But this really, when you said it, and you suggested, I was like, Oh, this is so this is my life. So let's let's put my life on paper. I love it. What do I use every day? What can I bring in? And also, again, I wanted it to be something really simple. Because you give somebody really high, you know, you give a tired mom like lots of convoluted instructions they haven't got the capacity first of all you know they need something quick this is these are my three oils in my little cup this is what i go to do so aroma touch blend had to be in it that is my tired mom's blend it is the goddess blend we're going to goldbladder 21 and what i love i'm differing her actually because i want to smile when i'm talking about her she's oh my god she's so amazing so we're going to be making a roll on or even, you know, just using it just on our fingertips, which is OK. And the blend, which I love, oh, the point which I love is you access it this way. So you're actually giving yourself a hug, which I just love. I know. And I have done that so many times. It's like use balance or vetiver or something to ground me. And then what do I need right now? What do I need right now? And I need to be hugged. You know, I need to be hugged. And Aroma Touch does that. It's a goddess oil. The key for this blend, I think, is marjoram. Marjoram is a goddess oil. She is an amazing nervous system resetter. She is ancient, ancient, ancient herbalist wisdom. And, you know, she just calls the witches in. Basil, adrenal support. You're like heightened. You're tired. You're running on adrenaline. Grapefruit, body love, body soothing. Lavender, of course, linal and the soothing cypress. Let's go with the flow, guys. Let's get in the boat. And peppermint, just giving you that little bit of buoyant heart, zizzing, you know, that you need. my son at the moment is addicted to peppermint and he has it in his school bag and he has it in the car and he has it everywhere and he's putting two drops in the palms of a hand, he's a teenager now two drops in the palm of his hands and bless him, he's smelly and literally I watch his aura and his energy just do this you know, it is oil of the buoyant heart I watch him lift and at school the teacher's like, you always smell so good, it's like yeah it's peppermint and that's why I wanted to blend with peppermint in because you just need someone to come and do this it's okay look up it's okay we got this you know we're going to hug ourselves we're going to hold ourselves in that frankincense foggy brain anxiety where's my truth in this where's my king my inner king where is you know the the self-husbandry frankincense brings all that to the table and we are going internal i can offer alternatives if people don't want to do internal but you've You've seen me do this, Kelly, probably in your video and then Roof of the Mouth. You're getting access straight away to brilliant for brain fog. I found it completely amazing when I was going through different hormonal changes to really utilize that. And it's really interesting if you look at that frankincense is the truth bringer and frankincense is the one that brings you to that part of yourself. If you've got brain fog, it's kind of like that. You're just slicing through. You know, you're slicing through the mist, the fog. Where is my truth in this? And your truth might be is I really need a rest. I really need to sit down. I really need a cup of tea. The truth is maybe, hey, am I being a bit of a bit of a martyrdom here? You know, where is the truth in this? So you've given yourself a hug. You've brought the goddess in and now you're bringing in the husband to say, right, OK, what do I need right now? What does what what where can my masculine show up for me and offer the structure, offer the the the wisdom of the situation? And then stronger, which is actually a kid's blend. But I love her. Oh, she's got me through so many, so many moments. And the reason I love her is because of her very sweet and simple blend of frankincense and rose. We have the king and the queen, the male and the feminine intertwined. You're going to roll these on your heart. This is I'm going to be I'm going to call my strength in my real warrior mama heart because I've got this. but she also has cedarwood and litzy and litzy is in litzy is the powerful let's clear let's get going let's uplift and cedarwood all the meeting houses were made of cedarwood so cedarwood is a community tree and reminds you whether you've got community whether you have or not it doesn't have to be there but you are you are in the community of spirit you are on the community of all the mothers that have mothered through all the years and have all been friggin exhausted and tired and they're there for you and they shut and you're going to roll that down your heart you're going to roll on your wrists but a gentle reminder that you are not alone and invites you to rise into the strength and the resilience of your heart and your mothering heart you did this for a reason you're here for a reason so let's get into it you know first aid balance got to be again beautiful grounding blend anxiety anxiety soothing grounding rooting you've got to bring the trees in for this part, you've got to bring the trees in, you've got to ground, you've got to root. Why am I doing this? Why did I give birth? Why am I even here? You know, those moments. Why? Balance is going to be like, it's okay. You know, we actually quite like this. We can do this. And then I put superman beadlets in because they again have a great sourcing story. Superman beadlets are going to give you, they're going to help with digestion. They're going to help with processing. I pop them on the roof of my mouth, but you can take them in a little cup of water. After you've done all of this and you're back in the room and, okay, we've got this, this is the mint of Gunnivrite. And one of the reasons I like it is because it has a blend of lots of different mints. It really supports women in India, really supports women farmers. They've used it. They've encouraged farmers in India to rotate their crops and increase their income by 40%. So when their turmeric or ginger or whatever it is has died off, they're now planting mint to then put in this blend. Little, tiny. I mean, how cute. Come on. I have that in my bag everywhere. It's like, I put that in my bag. It's just amazing, amazing. So yeah, I think of those women. It's Japanese mint, peppermint, spearmint, and bergamot mint. And I want spearmint in there because spearmint is that sweet chewing gum smell mint. Beautiful. and that calls your voice. And it may be that your voice needs called. It may be with using frankincense, you've discovered your truth. You've called the goddess in. You're in that place. And it may be then that you kind of have to lay down some different rules, some different structures. You know, it's not all about, oh, God, you've been a great mom. It's actually right. OK, what's going on here? Again, the oils are a companion. They are walking along beside you and inviting you to take responsibility, to take accountability, whilst also saying this is tough, but where are we going with it? And that's all in Superman blend. Can you believe that? Yeah, it is. It's great. Last, last perfume, cheer. This blend, along with forgive, this is up here. So yellow, you'll know by the colour of it, you'll know by the name of it. I thought, you know, when mamas are tired, there is that kind of you start to lose your resilience, don't you? And that can start to go low mood. And especially when your kids are young. You mean, dude, it's hard. You know, it's just relentless, isn't it? That kind of routine and eating, sleeping, cleaning up, whatever. You know, my teenagers now, it's just got so much better. It's different. It's different. But it's it's like that that intense caretaking time is hard. and cheer just brings the lightness wild orange clove lemon myrtle there's a great doTERRA leader Australian you guys should look him up oh god Adam Barillay thought brain has lost his name lemon myrtle he says is the oil to deter dickheads and I love that I think about all these moms doing their shopping or at the school gates they're wearing lemon myrtle like nobody's going to come near them that's going to interfere with their day you know nutmeg warming vanilla vanilla is the mother, the nourishing ginger, the power oil, and night your power, and cardamom. So this actually, you know, this blend's not taking prisoners either. You know, it's like, it's got the spices, which are protective always, but it's got that ginger, that cardamom. I put cardamom and danced around the room before I came on this podcast on my tummy. Cardamom is the power. You think about when you bite into a cardamom pod, you know, your mouth is like, that's the energy held in that oil. You know, it invites you to your passion, it invites you to your fire, it reignites you. And this is your perfume. This is what you're rolling on yourself in the morning, putting through your hair, if you like, rolling on your scarf. That's what you're going to put on before you leave in the day. So that's your energy leaving the house. Don't mess with me. I'm a mama. I've got this. Here I am. So yeah. I really like this kit. I've forgotten how good it was. So good. Yeah. I mean, I have almost all of those in my daily rotation and the mint beadlets are such a good example, right? Where formerly I would have been like, oh, this is a good like chewing... I'm from New Jersey. I love chewing gum. Okay. So this is a good like chewing gum replacement and it's just minty, right? So I'll have like fresh breath, right? So that's the cosmetic orientation towards these oils. And now I will put them... Because I love the sensation in my mouth. So I'll put a couple in my mouth pretty much anytime I'm in a relationship with humans. And not for, yes, so that I'll have fresh breath, but also so that I have a clear channel for speaking truth. And I also use that before I come on the pod, where there's nobody here but my cat. So it's certainly not so that I have, my breath smells good. It's so that energetically my voice is open and clear. And that was your suggestion. So I just love, again, the many layers of depth that you can take this work to. And I just think that's such a, it's such a compassionate collection that you've put together to begin to access, again, both the energies of masculine self-containment and also that kind of fierce feminine that is, that almost borders on a masculine flavor that is the mother archetype, right? It's also one that wants rest and relief and support. So this feeling of almost the community around kind of energy is so much what the mother archetype longs for. So I love this. I feel like it is such a gift we've put together to offer these portals to anyone who might feel called to begin this energetic journey and this expansion really into a deeper relationship with the natural world. I'm so grateful to both of you for inspiring me and for your experience and your wisdom that I know that I can trust to guide my journey and to share with anybody who is listening. so we will make sure to have all of these instructions available so it's kellybroganmd.com forward slash doTERRA and there you'll access claire's support claire's wisdom these protocols i think a specific discount right for folks who are are signing up or new to to the oils and i'm excited to get feedback you know to hear about how you know this has opened up unseen dimensions of the sensual human experience and the belonging, you know, that we fundamentally existentially have as our birthright, you know, that can be hard to access in many of these moments. So thank you, ladies. Any parting words? I have a couple of things that just came up while Claire was sharing. You know, one thing was people don't get excited about psych meds. you know, like I'm listening to Claire and it's like the passion and the excitement. I'm excited because I know that people are going to hear her and get involved. Right. And so that also I want to mention that there's no side effects. Right. The only side effects are positive. And I also wanted to mention just this experience I had this winter with the oils. You know, like there's the kits and then there's buying them separately. In the midst of winter, when you are dying to smell a rose and you reach in your purse and there's rose oil or a samanthus, it changes your winter. For someone like me who's not a winter bird, it helps me get through the winter depression, the winter blues, olfactorily having the flowers. And then one of the things I wanted to say, Claire, that you just helped me to understand in this interview was when I smelled vetiver for the first time, I was on so many meds and I realized that the hardest part about being so medicated or just medicated, period, was it cuts my connection to source. It cuts my connection to prayer, to connection. And when you gave me that pure oil, not something that's, you know, cut with alcohol and fillers, because I don't believe the God particles in those oils. But when you gave me that pure one, what got through was God and the message and my body and the empowerment, right? Like it woke something up in me, the remembrance that I am nature, right? That we are all nature, that we're animals, that we are to connect with and communicate with the plants and animals, you know. And so, yeah, thank you for that. Thank you, Kelly, so much for having both of us on too. I love hearing, you know, you can see just what Claire does with her passion, the excitement. You know, there's not a lot in this world that I think we get so excited about. But one other thing I want to say is I just got a package of doTERRA in the mail. And when you start getting the monthly orders, it's like Christmas morning every time they come. Like, it's so exciting to, I just got Pettigrain. I was telling Claire before we started, I just connected with Petch Green for the first time and I had no idea what I was missing for the last three years and she's like my new favorite girlfriend so I just want to share that so thank you both so much it is total it's like a wellness joy every month isn't it and what I love actually is that I completely when you text me and said you know I got Pettigrew oh my god you know what I love is that this is the exact perfect moment for you to have Pettigrew do you know what I mean like the oils have their such innate wisdom that they come to you when they're ready. Betava was waiting. She knew you all along, Hannah, but she was waiting for that moment to connect to me, to then connect to you. And if it had been a moment sooner or a moment later, it wouldn't have had the same. They're waiting for the frequency of God, and then it's almost like now. And it's kind of like, you know, it is like kind of Marvel world reality. Now is the time, you know. And orientating in this way to the oils is so special. And I feel so blessed every time I talk about the oils. And thank you, Kelly, so much. I feel so blessed because I'll probably watch this back and be like, oh, my gosh, rabbit it on for ages. But I feel almost like I get taken over. You know, it's like the oils are like, talk about me now. Talk about me. Somebody's going to listen to this and they're going to need this. Say this. Say this. And somebody might listen to this whole hour and it will be, I need Zendocrine, you know, and there'll be nothing else. And then they'll get Zendocrine and they'll move to the next Mario Kart, you know, game level in their life. And then that will be it. And then it will be the next and the next and the next, you know. So, yeah, I think it's really special. And it is it's an invitation. The one last thing I want to say is that it is an invitation. There are lots of modalities out there, of course, breathwork, yoga, herbs, flower essence. and they all are the same. They're inviting you to the sacred. They're inviting you back to the sacred within us, within yourself. And it's a pathway to that. And it just so happens that the oil spoke to me in this way and helped and supported me so much that I want just to share that. Truly, truly, honestly, just want to share that. Hannah did say, you know, can you imagine the people that might be helped by listening to this? And I've heard something to tears. She sent me a text message and I burst into tears just thinking about that, you know, just thinking about getting that happening and the lives that will change. And it's so and it's literally just an invitation to the sacred. And it's just a way of doing that, of orientating yourself to that and to listening to that as a companion, as a voice. not a fix not a numbing not anything else just that invitation to move your life in a different way thank you ladies you
