Analysis Summary
Performed authenticity
The deliberate construction of "realness" — confessional tone, casual filming, strategic vulnerability — designed to lower your guard. When someone appears unpolished and honest, you evaluate their claims less critically. The spontaneity is rehearsed.
Goffman's dramaturgy (1959); Audrezet et al. (2020) on performed authenticity
Worth Noting
Positive elements
- This video provides a concise technical breakdown of the 'Zen 5C' core configuration in AMD's new APUs, which is often glossed over in official marketing.
Be Aware
Cautionary elements
- The use of 'best-case scenario' tech demo numbers (90% FPS increase) to headline a segment can create unrealistic expectations for actual gaming performance.

AMD officially announced their nextg desktop APUs. AMD is actually trying to save gamers. Intel's [music] nextG and every GPU is about to get a massive performance boost that [music] isn't upscaling or frame gen. This is huge. [snorts] Welcome everyone to gamer mode. AMD has officially announced their nextG desktop APUs and I've got to say that I'm seriously disappointed. I'm talking in a couple ways. This is worse than last gen. Of course, if you followed the channel, you already knew that AMD was releasing this, so you definitely want to subscribe to stay up to date on all the latest PC hardware releases. Either way, let's go over what all was released and then I'll discuss my issues with it. Starting things off, AMD released both Pro and nonpro APUs with their 400G series of processors. Most of their marketing material seems to be aimed at the pro side of things. But don't worry, they do have consumer parts, and the actual hardware is identical between both consumer and enterprise chips other than ECC memory support with the main difference being that Pro chips include AMD's platform software features. Now, when it comes to specs, you can probably see pretty quickly why I'm so unhappy with this release. For starters, you'll notice the highest end model is the Ryzen AI7450G, which is of course nowhere near their highestend notebook model, and the specs reflect that with two major issues. For one, while the CPU is based on Zen 5, it only gets up to eight cores. But it's even worse than what you'll initially think. You'd likely look at this and think that it's a big Zen 5 cores, right? Well, it's not. And there aren't many outlets reporting on this, but it's actually four Zen 5 cores. and four Zen 5C cores. So, this is essentially a downgrade over last gen's 8700G, which is why the base clock is as low as 2 GHz on this new chip, yet it's 4.2 GHz on the 8700G. And it doesn't get any better when we move to the iGPU. Yes, it is based on RDNA 3.5, which is an okay upgrade over RDNA3, but instead of 12 CUS in the 8700G, we only have eight in the 450G. yet notebook chips can get up to 16. Don't worry though, because they do have 50 AI tomps compared to last gen 16. So yeah, I'm really not liking this release at all. Of course, AMD could release higherend SKUs later on, but as of right now, this is what we get. Maybe they'll be priced really well. I don't know. But AMD hasn't released any of that. Still, they are set to be available in the second quarter of 2026. AMD's actually [clears throat] doing it. They're trying to get gamers cheaper parts to help with this insane memory crisis. But before I get to that, I have the ultimate solution to high GPU prices by visiting the marketplace that was built for gamers by gamers. And they sponsored today's video, Jawa. The ultimate place to find bargains on all your favorite PC hardware, like this 9060 XT for MSRP. That may not sound great, but it's cheaper than I've seen anywhere else. If that's too much, you can pick up this 1060 for 58 bucks. And they have great deals like this on CPUs, motherboards, PC cases, and more. And if you need a little extra cash for your build, Jawa has a trade-in program where you can trade in your old CPU or GPU to put towards your new build. Don't want to build your own PC? No worries there, because Jawa also offers a ton of pre-built PCs from Artisan Builders for every budget. Whether you want a PC with great value, more of a mid-range build, or you're ready to go all out for a pro gaming monster, Jawua has it all at a great price. And some of them seriously look amazing. So don't wait for prices to go even higher. Save money at Jawua by clicking the link down in the description below. If you remember around mid 2025, AMD released the Ryzen 5 5500X3D, a 6 core 12thread CPU with their 3D vcache technology, giving it a very nice 96 MGB of L3 cache, and it's built on the AM4 platform. The only problem is that it was only available in Latin America. Well, it looks like AMD is set to launch the chip in China next, which of course means we could see it in the US later on. And this wasn't just a third-party seller bringing leftover inventory to China. This was apparently listed on Ambi's official China store, meaning it really is happening. Now, when doing a currency conversion, it's priced at around $175 based on the rate shown so far. And that's not exactly great, but it's still set to be a decent gaming CPU for under 200 bucks. Plus, given how expensive the 5800 X3D has gotten, I really think this is great news. If you remember in my last video, I covered a story about MSI releasing cheaper AM4 motherboards to help consumers who don't want to pay the absurd DDR5 prices. Of course, DDR4 has gone up as well, but not nearly as much. And now it looks like AMD is releasing their budget X3D chip to more countries, which of course means that AMD has to further support their AM4 platform even longer. And that's great news for everyone. Final specs and multiple new dates for Intel's nextG CPUs have leaked. Specifically, this is for their Core Ultra 200K Plus. So, yes, I'm talking about their Aerrow Lake refresh and not Nova Lake. With that said, Intel has apparently dropped their 290K Plus skew, leaving two chips that really aren't bad depending on the price. First is the 250K Plus, which according to this comes with six performance cores and 12 efficiency cores. So, four more ecores over the 245K. It also comes with 100 MHz higher turbo clocks on both cores, the same PC core base clock, and 100 MHz lower ecore base clock. Both chips actually come with memory support up to 7200 with this model getting the same TDP as the 245K. This one could be pretty nice if it's priced the same as the 245K. Then we have the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus, which comes with the same number of cores as the 285K, but with slight differences in clocks, and it has the same TDP as both the 265K and 285K. This one I really think could be a great CPU if Intel prices it closely to the 265K. Either way, according to video cards, the new refresh is being announced on March 11th with an NDA for March 23rd. I'd assume that's either the release or the embargo for reviews being lifted. Either way, these chips are coming fast, and whether they're good or not almost entirely depends on price. AMD, Nvidia, and Intel GPUs are about to get a massive performance boost for free. I'm talking 30 40% plus is possible without upscaling or fake frames. And I really don't think a lot of people fully understand how big this is. So, Microsoft just showed off a new tech demo for their upcoming DXR technology, and it showed some insane performance uplifts. Now, I think some people are confused about what exactly DXR is. They think that RTX is Nvidia's ray tracing, while DXR is Microsoft's. No, DXR or DirectX ray tracing is the programming interface inside DirectX12, while RTX is Nvidia's branding for their hardware that's built to accelerate that interface. Basically, just about every game that has ray tracing on Windows uses DXR. And this brings me to this new technology. I believe I discussed it before when Microsoft originally unveiled it, but today we actually have some performance numbers and they are staggering. It's called SER or shader execution reordering. And essentially what it does is let the game engine give hints to the GPU so we can reorder how it executes ray tracing shaders. ultimately grouping tasks that are similar together to better parallelize workloads. If that didn't make any sense to you, don't worry because Microsoft just shared the results of a tech demo that they ran. And according to them, SC running on an RTX 4090 showed a whopping 40% FPS increase, while Intel's ARC B series GPUs showed as high as a 90% FPS increase. And this is, of course, comparing SC turned on versus off. And while they didn't mention it, we should see a big increase with AMD GPUs as well. So, this really is huge and it isn't using fake frames or upscaling or anything like that, just better optimized software. With that said, I do want to point out that this is likely a best case scenario. Microsoft did this in a tech demo, not an actual game, so it probably uses many more rays than most games and things like that. But even a free 20% performance increase, which I really think is reasonable to expect, is huge. Now, unfortunately, this does have to be added in the game, so we'll see which developers actually update theirs, but you can bet that many future games do include support. Regardless, this is great news for future games that use ray tracing.
