Signals

Natural Speech Patterns Transcript contains natural filler words ('um', 'uh'), colloquialisms ('cheesed off', 'quick squeeze around'), and spontaneous laughter.
Interactive Dialogue Real-time back-and-forth conversation between the narrator and a bystander with overlapping speech and context-dependent reactions.
Personal Branding and Links The description links to the creator's specific field guides, personal website, and social media handles (robotfaced) which match the narrator's identity.
Situational Awareness Narrator mentions specific logistical details like 'strapping on the GoPro' and switching to a phone because the snake is too small for the GoPro lens.

What is up? What is good? And what is going on? And as you can see, we're no longer in Cape Town. We're in the province of Kazal right across the country. And I just got a referral call from my buddy Miguel from a wood factory here who says there's apparently a baby snake or potentially many baby snakes um in this area. Miguel's got a channel. I'm going to link him below. So, head over there and subscribe to his channel. Help him get things going. But guys, uh, as soon as we get there, I'm going to strap on the GoPro. But before I forget, if you're enjoying the videos, please hit the like button, please hit the subscribe button, and I'll take you guys along for the ride. All right, let's grab our tools. They said it is a baby snake, so we'll take their word for it, which is a dangerous thing to do. >> Hi. >> Is that it waiting in the bucket? >> Yeah. I don't know if they are. >> Yeah, we'll have a look. Okay. Yeah. Ooh, this is a very very small. Let's put it in the shade. Yeah. So, this one is probably Let's take a little video. It's probably just just hatched. So, you might find that there might be a couple of more around, which is not ideal. It's just a little hatchling boom slung. You can see the bright green eye. Um, but yeah, we'll pop him in this little bag and then I'll just take him somewhere where he's not going to cause a a worry >> far away. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. I mean, in this environment, you're going to Yeah, cuz I know Miguel says, Yeah. he gets quite a few all sorts up here. >> Yeah. Lots of black mas. >> Black mas. Yeah. Yeah. Shame. And when they're small like this, they so they puff up their throats and they they just want to try to look as big and as mean as possible, but um which they aren't, but they really have to try. So, did someone just scoop it up in a a little scoop it up? >> Just stick. >> Okay. Yeah. You can see when they get really cheesed off, you can see how they puff up the throat like that. >> Yeah. And it changes cuz it's blue. >> Yeah. Yeah. That's that's blue when he's when they're young. And obviously as he gets older, it will it'll dissipate. But yeah, a bit of a biggest bag in the world, but I mean he'll be safe in there. >> The biggest bag. >> Yeah. Yeah. But it's >> very brave. >> Oh, no. I mean, this is this is just another >> zaps through the back. >> Yeah. Yeah. That's this is just temporary just to like get him. It's just >> like you're tying a knot now. Can you not do that? >> Oh, they can. But I mean, you can see with the cotton, it's um And see how see how the corners are actually tied off on this bag. So, he like his head is right there, but I can safely hold that. Um, yeah, I just didn't have I just picked up my car. I just didn't have anything. This is This is a proper like snake bag, but it's just um Yeah, it was either that or put it in my little uh which is not ideal. >> Yeah. Yeah. Which is either way is not ideal. But let me have a quick squeeze around. Um I just want to pop him in the shade cuz he's going to get because Yeah, those snakes will they can lay 15 20 eggs at a time. So he could have come from anywhere but and obviously they want to be in the trees primarily. They don't want to be out and about. >> Only come. We used to have paves here. They used to come. The black mas [laughter] >> keep the always keep the windows closed. E. But let's have Yeah. I'll just do a quick look. But otherwise, I mean, Miguel's just away today. But if you get any more, you can just give me a ring and I can just shoot back. But it's, you see, it's so hot today that they want to they'll be wanting to get in the shade. So, we're just looking at the potential for them to be more snakes, but you see it might have come from the bank, but I think we're done. So, we're going to find a safe spot to release this for boom, but I'll check in with you when we're there. All righty, guys. We are just doing this on the phone today just because uh this tiny little snake on a GoPro, you are not going to get to see too much of it. So, let's open up this bag really quickly and we'll give you guys. All right, so we finally got the bag open. See if I can get him. I'm obviously just using the forceps just because the snake is so small. You can see he's whipping around already. And we'll just pop him up here. So guys, I finally managed to get this boom to sit and now the wind is starting. You can see what it was doing there. It was it was inflating its throat, which is a common defense mechanism of boomong, both little and small. Um, I'm just holding it by the tail to make sure it doesn't whip back. Um, cuz these snakes are highly, highly venomous. They are well known to be the most venomous snake in the African continent. Drop for drop venom. So you really have to be careful with these snakes. You can see just how stunning it is. puffing up the lower part of the throat like that. Really, really a unique characteristic of these young boom and something you don't get to see very often. He knows I'm here and he knows what he's got. So guys, I'm going to let this little snake go. He's going to go up into this tree right by this dam that we have here and he should be happy and hopefully he lives a long happy life. So guys, thank you so so much for watching and as always, we'll catch you again. We'll catch you right on the next
