So, we've been living in our house for about six years now, and the way that we've been using our house is a little bit differently than what we thought it was going to be. >> Yeah. So, we haven't really showed you guys our updated like house and what it looks like, who's sleeping where, if we've made any updates or improvement to it. So, we wanted to show you a house tour after 6 years, you guys, of living here. Come on in. We'll show you around. All right. So, here's our entryway. We definitely kept the winter wonderland theme on our front door that we've never taken down since our first Christmas. Let's show into our laundry room first. >> Okay, >> you guys don't usually see this door a lot. This is our front bathroom. This is the guest bathroom. It's also where I store a lot of toilet paper. I tried to keep this spot pretty like non-useable. So, if we ever want to leave or move out of the home that I don't have to do a lot, but apparently someone has been sneaking in here and writing on the walls here. But yeah, this is the guest bathroom. Uh we have a toilet. Nothing fancy back there. But yeah, this was like probably the prettiest part of the house when I first moved here. I just like how they had this backsplash and this towel going on here. And it still is like one of my favorite rooms in the house. >> From the powder room, this is our laundry room. >> Yeah, it usually is actually not this messy because I usually keep it up every s Sunday. I come in here and try to take care of the majority of the work. But I wouldn't say that it's messy. I would say more that it's just just a lot of clothes. >> Considering that this is like the storage closet for the rest of the house, um I would consider it kind of small. Elena thinks it's kind of big or decent sized. Yeah. I mean, I think it's a good size laundry room. It's just that when you have a lot of people and a lot of clothes, it's kind of hard to keep it quote unquote neat, but it's organized, so that's what counts. When we first came into the house, I had a thought that maybe just one washer, one dryer wouldn't be enough. So, we thought we might add another one out in the garage, but we never got around to that. But yeah, I do think it's a fairly large laundry room for our home. But I think because we also use it to like store mops and buckets and cleaning supplies that feels a little tight. Um, we put this little thing here like so that we can put our mops and brooms on, but it doesn't kind of work very well because we have this cart in the way. So, we can only use one of it. But hey, it is what it is. And we keep like all of our hair stuff up here. So, it was really organized. to put all these cute bins in here. But with kids, they just come in here and just mess up any type of organization you try to do. But yeah, I was like so organized. I had all of these little things. This is master's house, bedrooms house, and where everything is supposed to I bought these little things. These separate these cute things separated like this in between here. Down here, I have swimsuit bins and ballet bins. And basically, we still use it. It's just not pretty how it I would like it in my mind, you know? It's just there and hair stuff is in it, but it's not in there neatly. But yeah, our house is not that complicated, and that's why I like it. It's just it has expensive and high quality things in it, I would say, or mid to high quality grade things in it. But the layout is just kind of like a standard like ranch home, maybe, but like with a farmhouse feel. So, as you come through the front door, you just come into the living room space. We really didn't get to decorate this space in any type of like matching furniture. We have these part of the old couches that we had. We kept these because we love these. So, we have these two. They belong to our other couch. And then we have this couch over here. What my husband bought. Very, very expensive leather custom couch that he built so the whole family could sit on it. And we have all of us. All 11 people. Wait, have we Saturday? All of us. I don't think we have. >> I don't think we all sat on this yet cuz the baby with the new baby. >> Oh yeah, you might be right. >> But I'm sure we'll fit. You know, we've got >> the Christmas setup here. Oh my gosh. It is literally February. Why have we not taken these down? Oh, there's something in here. The remote control. >> Oh, it's right here. >> That's where you put it. >> Yeah. >> You put that in there? >> No. Oh, one of the kids, I guess. >> So, you guys have seen this stuff probably a million times. Like, we have these, what are these called? Um, they're just shelves. Yeah, >> that you can put stuff on. I always think like, oh, it's such a good idea you can put stuff, but I'm not like a design person. I don't know what to put up on them shelves. I want like clothes shelving like these so you can't see what's inside of it. So, I can just put whatever is inside of it and close it up cuz I never been much of a big like picture person on the wall. I don't like seeing myself well. You know how some people have these big pictures of themselves and their wedding photos? I definitely do not like seeing photos of myself up in my house. This is the weirdest thing ever. This is my girls room. We We really don't want to go in here. It's It is messy in here. But this room is now shared by Akali and Arozo. So Aiah moved when Amaya left from college and Ariso got to have her own room and then Akad and Isaiah were sharing a room but I feel like that wasn't fair because you know Akali's the next Otis. She should have her own room or Aio. So eventually um Aio moved into the room Arazzo moved into Azo came into here to share a room for Kylie because that's what the girls figured amongst themselves. So Gaziah got her own room. So this is now Arizona and Akati's room. And you guys, it's just teenage girls. Smells like flat irons in Ecostyler gel in her their room. >> Remember we got this for Amaya for her birthday, her 16th birthday. But Kylie now goes surfing a lot with her friends, so she uses it. >> Yeah. >> Walking into the next area, which is all the same one area, is our kitchen. Don't mind the mess here. >> This just This is an honest honest depiction. >> What a realistic. >> Yeah. Honest depiction of how we how we use our room, our house tour. >> No, wait. >> Ew. A nail. A child's nail. Aio, your fingernail is on my kitchen countertop table. Look how close I can clean for you guys. Okay, that's good enough. Anyway, okay, so this is our kitchen. Everything is the same since we moved in. I think I think the kitchen is pretty decent. Um, but there were some things we noticed wrong when we bought this house. And you guys, it is so crazy. We bought this house for I think it was like $2.1 million or something like that. And you will still find flaws that the builder did in your house even at that price point. So, one of the I know this supposed to be a house tour, but 5 years later, these are all the things we found wrong that we built with this house. You know, 5 years after buying it, and we're realizing these are the things that we should have thought about beforehand. Number one, the joyers. These joyers were not installed correctly nowhere in the house. So, these are supposed to be soft closed. So, look, they don't soft clothes cuz the tracks are off. And then like they're like breaking apart. So, if you see here, this has all come off right here. And the buildership, it just the quality of how they did this. It just wasn't right. All of these are nice and good. Like all the cabinets are >> gold. We were experimenting like, "Oh, maybe we should change these." >> Yeah, we thought about changing them in here, but then I don't know. We gave up and we just left it. >> It kind of does look nice though, doesn't it? >> Yeah, it does. We did the top ones. >> Yeah, >> but the drawers definitely they have some problems like with closing and even these handles. I know you're supposed to screw these back on of having kids, especially they're coming off. So, we definitely want to try to remedy that. Another thing is when we first moved into this house, the man had mentioned who sold it to us that oh yeah, I bought a lot of the appliances secondhand. It shows this is our refrigerator and it has nothing in it. This refrigerator has broken at least how many times do you think has been broken in the last 6 years we've been here? >> Oh, maybe like eight times. >> Like eight times. That's crazy for a refrigerator. More than eight times. maybe like 10 times and each time like the service costs were at least $800. >> Definitely like all of the little things that could have happened, it happened to it. >> Well, that's because it was used. >> Yeah. >> I forgot to mention in our laundry room, we have already gone through two sets of washer and dryer. So, that is our third washer and dryer since living here in 6 years. So, that tells you how much we actually use our washing machine. They've gone dead. >> So the lifespan on things that we use is totally different. So we do so much laundry. Anyway, our pantry, see our pantry looks nice. This is a surprise house tour. I'm being surprised by giving us a house tour. And so surprise whatever you see and whatever it looks like is what it looks like. Surprise realistic house tour. So here's our pantry. >> The pantry has held up really really well. >> Yeah. >> Like these things have not like had we haven't had any problems with it. And the kids always walk up on there and reach up to get stuff >> like a ladder grabbing stuff from the top. >> So yeah, I really really love this pantry and it's a good size pantry. It's not huge. It's not definitely by no means small, but it's been a good a really good size pantry for us. Oh, and then here is a chalkboard that we put on here. We don't really use this anymore, but this is um chalkboard paper. And I saw someone do this in their home, so I did it to the store and you can write on it. Um, we were testing out paint colors here to paint this door. >> A nice color. And over there on that back wall, but we never picked anything. I kind of like it. They look splashy for wildness. >> Can you explain what these shelves are for? Like these cabinets down here for >> Oh, yeah. There's cabinets down here, but we don't really use I don't even think there's anything in them. >> What is it for? >> Honestly, there it's just more cabinet space if you wanted to keep something like you don't use often. >> It could be anything. or if we I I mean that's why I don't really think that it's a smart idea to be there. I rather have them here. But it is what it is. This also, mind you, was secondhand and it does not work. So, we have to use these to old school, y'all, to start the gas stove. But, it still works out good. But, I'm so mad that he put all these secondhand thing in this. See, it doesn't close all the way. And these things, you guys, they're really expensive. That's why we haven't replaced them. Like I don't know how much this costs, but it's probably at least $8 or $9,000 and that refrigerator is probably like over $10,000. So that's why we haven't really replaced anything because it's like m >> I don't really want to spend that much on a stove or a refrigerator food, right? >> Yeah. Let's just keep it how it is. So we have a lot of pantry space because we could put medicine in here. Yeah. And this is kind of like our little mail corner, school bus corner, water corner. And I wanted to share you guys with something new that we've been doing. We've been doing chores, chore charts. We've been getting allowance. So, let me tell you about that real quick. So, okay, let me explain this first. So, daily the kids have their chores to do. Um, see right here, we have this little uh whiteboard that I use here. And the kids can either be on track of doing what they're supposed to be doing or off track and not doing what they're doing. And depending on what it is, like for example, last night it was on track to watching movie night or off track on watching movies or it can be on track to get dessert or off track to get dessert. And so here I bought these little chore charts. And on these chore charts, I basically wake up in the morning, erase them, put the new stuff they need to do in the morning, and put their names underneath on track. If they start having bad attitudes or not doing what they're supposed to do, I just pick their board up and put it on off track. I don't think Aai is off track, but today. But there it goes. And there now they have to be on track at the end of the day to get that that prize, that ice cream. It could be going to the movies. It could be we're going skating or something like that. And that's really easy. They just have to be doing what they're supposed to be doing. So secondly, we also developed this system of chores. So they have their regular chores that they need to do, which is cleaning up their room, cleaning up their bathrooms. Every night each person has their own nightly chore that is just their responsibility to be a part of the family. So let's talk about allowance. So first we started to give out allowance last week. So the kids are now getting allowance not for doing anything. They don't have to do any chores. They don't have to be good or anything like that. that they just get allowance just for being a part of the family and then if they want to, it's not mandatory, but if they would like to, they can do optional chores. Okay? So, they can get money to do optional chores. So, last week was we had these optional chores. So, you could do the windows and clean the gold mirror. You could take out the trash. You could clean out the trampoline or the backyard. You could do laundry. No one decided to clean and vacuum the sofas, but this is a big list. You can help mom cook. And so then at the end of the week, I will count these all up. And a JU already put $10 allow allowance allowance to count her money up. Now, they will get this money in addition to their allowance money this week in their allowance envelopes. So that's been really helpful in getting the kids to help out a little bit more in the household without having to at them without having to yell and scream and beg and plead. So that's pretty cool. Talking about allowance, I had owed me $5 for eating my food that he wasn't supposed to ask for going in my refrigerator and stealing my little munchies or whatever. So I was like, "Boy, let me get my $5 back." And he was like, "Uh, can't you just take that out of my allowance?" I was like, "That's not God allowance. That ain't me. That's who you work for. You work for Maisley Household Payroll Chores or something like that LLC." I was like, "That's not me. You You took my food out of my refrigerator. You owe me $5. One thing for everything you stole. He done stole my Gatorades, my ramen, all my stuff out my refrigerator." And he going to try to borrow money from his allowance. I was like, "No, bro. We are two separate entities." I was like, "No, no, no. You cannot borrow money from your future allowance to pay me back my money. I want my money now. Plus, if I was going to be so generous as to loan out money to him, I'd be charging interest. I'll be charging late fees. The whole shebang. So, thanks again to Clover for sponsoring our video and let's look at the rest of this beautiful house tour. Okay, >> something I forgot is that we moved our dining table outside. >> Yeah. >> Um, however, uh, we've just been actually just taking turns eating around the the um kitchen island. >> Yeah, >> that's been working really good. >> Yeah, it it has been. You know, it makes me think that when we move into our next place, we're going to have a longer island and we just use that as a place to sit sit down and just eat all of our foods and stuff. So, it's been really rainy like the past couple months. Um, I don't know what's been up with the weather, but it's been quite rainy and so we haven't really been using these gazebo doors uh this much um this season, I guess, or whatever season California has. We have our craft table outside. We call it a craft table even though that was our dining table. The kids have been doing their homework, morning snacks and stuff like that. Some of their little, you know, personal projects and stuff. So, it's been good for being out there to keep the mess out. Since we're outside anyways, my grill stopped working. So, we haven't been doing barbecues. I used to do weekly barbecues, like barbecue maybe like 60 to 80 wings. We would do that for the weekend and, you know, eat that for like a day or two. But we haven't been doing that. Instead, I guess I've been doing like steak, salmon, roasted stuff in the oven. That's just kind of what we've been doing for the past couple of months at this point. >> Get in there, Joe. Show them your trick. >> I don't have any tricks. I don't have any tricks. But I will say that what trick? >> No, I don't get in this thing very often like that. But anyways, like this thing has been really handy as just like a backyard entertainment thing. That's our old one over there. We need to throw that thing out. >> Oh, Z says she likes to lay on that. She sunbathes on that. >> Oh, cuz it doesn't have this little sheet thing, right? >> Yeah, I know. >> Yeah, it gets nice and warm in here, especially in the sun. Okay. Trampolining is a young man's sport. So, the kids love to practice their sketches and drawing and all their sidewalk games and stuff. We have lots of sidewalk to play with. Joe, I told myself when I was working for the CDC, all I wanted to do was buy my kids a house and put a swing set in the back of it. So, the first thing I did when I moved into this house was put this swing set back there. Like, this was my standard of like buying the American dream home. >> So, this was this was the entry point for to the American dream. >> I don't know why they put fruit trees there. I mean, I get why cuz California, you know, you have like oranges and, >> you know, lemons, but they put like something that's that's not easy to grow. They should have just put us lemons and limes and oranges, not peaches and plums and what's the other one? Apples, I think. Really? What is apple? Yeah, >> they have apple tree. >> Yeah. >> Joe, they don't even know how food is grown. She said, "How does how how did the apple grow in the tree?" That's how far away we are. Adele, don't you want to move into a little farmhouse? >> No. >> Why? >> She likes the big city, I guess. >> Do you like animals? >> I thought I like dogs. >> Dogs. I hate dogs. >> No, I don't. >> And you like So she You don't like any animals? >> I do like animals. >> Good. She's like her mom. No, she don't. >> She said she didn't. What do you like? >> I like tiny little puppies. I like >> Okay. Like >> she likes puppies. You like toy puppies? >> Yeah. >> Oh, I see. >> The mutated ones. >> I like rainbow puppies. >> I like rainbow puppies. >> You like rainbow puppies? >> Yes. >> Now I like them. >> I know you like rainbow puppies. When we first moved in here, my plan was to make a garden in the backyard, cultivate collard greens, potatoes, tomatoes, carrots >> in the middle of a city. Yeah. In the middle of a city. Why not? >> I said you can do that all right here. >> I could, but the trampoline is there. >> Yeah. >> And I just don't feel like I'm in the right mindset to like cultivate a garden, >> you know? Like I just feel like too stressed. >> How are you going to cultivate a farm? >> I I don't know. Maybe if I like get on a farm, I'll like chill out and de-stress for like 3 months and then I'll start cultivating the ground. >> Maybe you should move to Catalina Island. >> Do they have farms there? >> I don't know. They have a lot of open land now. I see. Maybe I should go to San Diego. They have a lot of open land. Like tons of land. >> I like that. >> We should go there today. >> Swing sets are so nice. They're so calming. Can you swing on this swing set? >> Um once in a while. >> Like I don't look for it. >> I do sometimes. If we had a bigger one, I would probably swing more. Like if we're just like higher, I think cuz it's too low to the ground. But they're so aren't swings calming. They're like so calming. >> Well, that's partially because it's just what is it? Maternal. You think it's maternal? >> Like the swinging? >> Yeah. >> Like it puts you in a position of being a a child again. >> Yeah. I want hammocks in our next house. >> Baby is sleeping, but I'd like to give you a tour of my room. I hope I don't wake her up with my voice. But um here's my room. Now, this is probably my favorite part of the house, my bedroom, cuz it's my safe space. It's the space where I like to keep clean and comfy and cozy in the way I like it. And when I say I mean my room, of course, I mean our room. >> Mhm. Then in yours. >> Why you picking them? Huh? >> Oh, look. I have my bed. These are the best sheets ever. But before I get to that, this is my teddy bear that I got for Valentine's Day from Joe. His name is Barry and he keeps you warm. You can microwave him and he smells like lavender and I just sleep with him and I go on walks with him. I went on my morning walk with him yesterday and he kept me cozy. >> Yeah, >> I love you so much. >> I had a picture of you last night where you're holding the baby in one arm and a and a >> really embarrassing. Anyway, that's very my new stuffed animal. It's so cute. It's the only stuff in my own jail. So, my room is nice. These doors open up to the backyard, which is lovely California living. Besides the fact that my kids play back there and scream and make noises, that's another reason why I like to move. Here's my refrigerator. This is a really great part of my room that I got since I was pregnant with baby. Joe got me this refrigerator and it just helps me to stay hydrated and stay healthy. I have my little snacks in here. This is also the refrigerator that people keep stealing out of. Ain't nothing like some blue Gatorade. Anyway, some more >> power. >> Power. Oh my god. Is that Gatorade? >> Yeah. >> I'm so sorry, y'all. >> Good. >> This one zero zero calories. It don't taste as good as the um >> regular. >> Yeah. No, not at all. >> So, anybody in my room, my lovely Joe's couch that he bought for way too much money. Don't know what that see this is like the little thing that's kind of weird like there's a couch here but this is not really a space for a couch you know. >> So the thing about our bedroom and a lot of the rooms is that it's a curation of like different things from different rooms that we don't have >> different seasons of our life. Let's say like we had we have this couch here that was intended for an office space. >> But y'all he bought it when we didn't even have an office. So he was dreaming of an office. Like it's like, "Okay, we're going to have an office." And it's like, "All right, so I'll start with the furniture." And then we started with an office. >> The office space. >> No, I thought we did. Yeah, cuz it was going to get shipped there. >> What office? You mean my office? Our office? >> You tried to steal become a partner that I got so I could finish my PhD so I could have a long time. My office. You tried to buy furniture. Your furniture for my office. >> Yeah, we shared that space. >> We Y'all, I'm telling y'all, Joe is a straight lie. I got that office for me. We moved in. That office was meant for me alone. Correct. >> I don't know. I don't know if it was meant for you alone. But anyways, >> what I love about this room is the tall ceilings. Actually, that's what I love about our house. Like, we've been recently looking at homes and they can be bigger than our house, but have low ceilings, but they feel like so much smaller than our house, right? >> They don't realize how tall this ceiling is. Like, >> look at how tall that ceiling looks. It looks crazy, but it is really, really tall. It's because it's vated. >> Yeah, >> vated ceilings. >> When we were first looking at houses, actually, I wasn't thinking about square footage at all. Like looking back, I went through repentant to go look at the houses we were looking at and this house versus the other house we were going to get. The other house was like 5,000 ft² and this was only 3,300. And we were not like at least I was not thinking about square feet at all. Were you at that time? >> After like 3,000 ft everything felt to you? Yeah. So like I wasn't thinking about that since we were coming from a smaller home. I was like, "This is fine." You know, but now I can see like that's a mistake that we made like to not consider square footage. I was just thinking like, "Is the house big enough in terms of how many bedrooms it had, but not necessarily square footage, if that makes sense." Yeah. So, all right. Come with me, y'all. Come into my bathroom. Okay. my bathroom slashc closet slashbirththing room slashmed medicine cabinet slash all that stuff. I love my bathroom too. I really do enjoy my bathroom. And matter of fact, I don't know what people are talking about, but I enjoy a carpet in the bathroom. Like the carpeted bathrooms, I get it cuz I love my rugs, you know? Like I love having something soft underneath my feet when I get out the bathtub. Now, I don't know about putting it all on the floor, you know what I mean? But I love my um I love carpet and like this is like the area of the home that I like take care of the children. These are like where somebody fart. >> Yes, you did. >> You fart. You nasty. You boot it. >> No, the air is turning green. The white balance is getting up. >> This bathroom is really good for tending to my young children. And like you know, I have all my like medicinal. These are not medicinal. These are just medicines over here that um if Joel's having a problem, I'm having a problem. my go-to. I have a bunch of medicines, y'all. But wouldn't it be so great if I had like a huge medicine cabinet so tall and I could open it up like have all my little goodies in there cuz I have so many I had so much herbs and things for healing the body. I had so much that I just threw them all like >> a wellness cabinet. >> Yeah, I had a lot. I had like I I literally got rid of everything. Then I bought more, but I had so many. So, like it's something that I'm really into and interested in like wellness and health >> like um what are they called like like biohacking >> in a way sort of >> like plants and herbs and stuff like that. >> Not that reefer. >> Yeah. >> Well, it could be that reefer but not that reef like you know. >> Yeah. Neutropics, biohacking, just like stuff that >> herbal medicine. >> Yeah. That just naturally and holistically like just Yeah. Boost. >> I'm really big into that type of stuff. Also like tooth teeth health stuff cuz you know I've had problems with my teeth in the past. So, but I just don't have enough like space to keep it that it looks clean. So, I end up like throwing stuff away because I just don't want the clutter. >> That's something that we really need to invest in like in our future home. Like stuff that can keep things looking nice and neat while at the same time giving us the amount of space that we need to be able to like curate the things that we need or want. >> Yeah. That we're interested in. That's why I feel like closed cabinetry is so good. Like open shelves. >> Mhm. No, open shelves are open shelves are good, but I I realized that these open shelves are like too deep. Like these open shelves are intended for like vases and like display type of stuff, not stuff for like like usability. >> Walk with me. I have a really funny story about this bathtub. And let me just get this ran out real quick. So this is my bathtub that I broke. You see how it looks has all these marks and looks kind of dirty and nasty. Anyway, so we had a plumbing problem in the other bathroom that we wanted to get fixed. We called out plumbers and I said, "Hey, check this bathroom, too. You know, I check this drain." Just to like do a thorough look. There was nothing wrong with this bathtub. After they checked it the next morning, I went to go run my bath. All of a sudden, water was leaking out the bottom of my on my floor. I was like, "Where's this water coming from? Is it coming from the shower?" Cuz you know sometimes the shower door if you have the shower water can come out of here. I'm like no ain't no water coming out of there. Then I come look back behind here. There's water all on the ground back here. >> These dudes done broke my bathtub. So I call them back out. >> You never had a problem with a bathtub ever. >> Never. >> Never. Yeah. >> So y'all I called these people back out. They came back and was like, "Uh, what happened?" I was like, "I don't know. That dude just went in my bathtub and now there's water on my floor." They came and checked it. They were like, "Oh, it looks like, you know, this thing is curled up back here. Are you sure this just happened yesterday?" I was like, "Yeah." And they were like, "Cuz that looks like there's been more water on the ground for just one day." I was like, "That's from the shower water when my kids pour water on the ground, you know, and they just spray water out here that that thing is curling up back out back there. Not because of my tub. I literally take baths in here every day." Anyway, they took it all. They looked at it. They were like, "Ma'am, our coverage is we ain't responsible for nothing we break." And I was like, "Oh, really?" Yeah. I'm sorry. That's just our Roaroo. I'm going to tell you who y'all was. It was Rotorooer that they ain't responsible for anything that they break. I was like, "What the hell is this at me?" Anyway, they were like, "Yeah, this whole thing cuz you got an expensive tub that's going to be at least 4,000." >> And they did it as a 4,000. >> As a courtesy, >> as a courtesy, they checked this and broke my whole tub. So now I can't take baths. Okay. Anyway, we should have called another plumber. Here's my shower. I love the shower. I love the I love the little these things inside of homes. These are so convenient having this shelf here. I just love having this little shelf and you could put your stuff on it. It just it just makes so much sense. They should have put a real long big long one here so you can keep all your stuff. You don't have to buy those things that you hang up. >> So, I love that feature. That's definitely something that I'm going to look for. Well, that's not true. That's not definitely something I'm going to look for in my next home. And you'll figure out why in the next video that we come out. Anyway, so it's great. It's perfect. Love it. But I do wish we had two showerheads, one for each person. >> That's my dream house. My dream house. I'll have like four showerheads pointing out my body >> and maybe a a closet that >> Oh, my closet tour. >> See, this this is how I know that. >> This is how I know that our house is a little bit too tight. >> Yeah, these are my clothes. These are like a four of my clothes. See, the thing is when I was younger, when we first met and we first got together, I didn't have a lot of clothes. I never had a lot of clothes. >> I had a lot of clothes. >> Yeah, he had like a ton of clothes. And I was like, "This is crazy. Get rid of some of this stuff." I never had a lot of clothes. Still now, I don't feel like I have a lot of clothes. Like, I have this and maybe like two more bins of clothes. Like, one big bin and one little little tiny bin of clothes, which is not that much. But like, you know, I did move here to California. I changed my whole wardrobe and I would like to wear my clothes once in a while, you know, but >> it actually living in California, I think it actually made the like wardrobe more simpler just because there's not such varieties of like temperatures and stuff. >> Yeah. But I think I got a bigger wardrobe actually because like I just like being here. So I want to wear different stuff outside >> versus when I was indoor. I was like indoor during the winter time and I wore a lot of work clothes and stuff. So, I bought a lot also because like this a big shopping area like there's so many nice stores. >> So, I found a lot of stuff I liked and things like that. >> Yeah. >> The weather is like simpler so there's less variety of clothing. But at the same time, because the weather is nice, you end up buying more stuff. >> I just want to be cute. It's like I'm on vacation. I need something cute to wear. You know what I'm saying? That's why I bought this right here cuz I was shopping and it was in a store and I was like, "This going to look cute on me at the beach." >> But compounding on that, it's like Elena also has been having children since we've been here. And so like your weight has been going up and down, up and down. >> That's true. That's true. >> So So it's like depending if you're weighing like 20 lb heavier, 20 lb lighter, 100 lb lighter, 100 lb heavier, >> it's like it's all up and down. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. >> So, you have wardrobes for different weight classes for different weight classes. Yeah. See, you ain't got those problems. >> No, >> those are women pregnant women problems. >> Oh, let's show you guys a bedroom. He's going to be so mad that I did a bedroom tour without him. So, this is Aai's room. It's simple, but it has everything that he likes in it. A bed, desk, a little place for shoes, side bed, table, and he's really done it up so nicely. I'm so proud of him. He keeps his stuff very neat, and it works. But I think as he gets older, it might not be enough space for him. This is this is enough space for anybody, but I think as he gets older, he might need his own bathroom and and things like that >> because technically this is not technical, it has a window. It doesn't have a closet, so technically it's not bedroom. like if you want to put your house for sale back. >> I guess you could say it's almost like a den. >> Yeah, it's almost like a den. Um, but he everything fits in here nicely. I bought him this desk and this chair from IKEA so we can do this work. And my kids are so cool. They have their Bibles sitting right here on their desk. This really makes me appreciate uh my family, you know, on times when I'm feeling like uh I can't wait till these kids get out of my house. When I come and see that on their desk is their Bible and their notebook, >> you know, and their Bible is highlighted, it just makes me feel good. Return books, lock fix, get dark blue bed sheets. He has a little list down here. >> Yeah. >> I mean, this is a Confucious saying, but still. >> Humility is the solid foundation of all the virtues. >> You know, sometimes I think I'm not raising my kids right. That's my biggest biggest worry, Joe, that I won't worry is my kids right >> and I they'll turn out as hooligans. >> Like how they act and who they are are two different things, you know? >> Well, I think even if they go down some wrong paths cuz everybody goes down wrong paths in their life, you know. I can't say I was no saint cuz I sure wasn't. I done some things and seen some. But yeah, so I I can see how everybody can go down wrong. People can go down wrong path. So, I'm preparing my mind that if my kids go down the wrong path, I can still stay levelheaded and not get worried because I'm going to keep it strong to if you train a child up in the way show they should go, they shall not depart from it. And even if that takes them to be some of the kids be hardheaded till they 70 years old, I'll be dead in gone. >> The Bible doesn't say about veering paths. >> So, >> so >> they be hardheaded. But that's cute. I wonder how much. So, he has a Bible on his desk. Let's see who else has a Bible on their desk. I have a Bible on my desk right here. I got my prayer books right here. These are the things that are the most important to me. So, I keep them right by my desk and they are the things that I forget the most often. So, let's check out AIO. Bunch of snack my snack stuff. Hello. Can you come in? Should I open this up? >> Where's your Bible? >> Huh? >> Why? >> I'm trying to see where everyone's keeping their Bibles. >> My shelf up there. >> She said her Bibles on herself. Let's see. Okay. I see a Bible. Where's your devotional book? >> It's up there, too. >> It's up there, dude. Do you do it? >> Yes. >> Every day? Every every other day? >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, she got her little adored for young woman sitting up here. It's here. It's present. >> Yeah. So, this is a Zio's new room. How you liking it, girl? >> Good. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> You have all your artwork here. >> Yeah. >> Oh, you have new pieces. Who's that? >> Why? >> Why is everyone? >> Cuz it looks like a Maya. >> You made that in your new school? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Black girl. Yes. >> Did you make any new pieces? >> It kind of looks like you. >> They're at school. >> Oh, they're at school. Are you going to have a art show or something that we can see? This looks like me. It's me. >> Is it? How much would you sell that for? Ah, >> I don't know. $20. >> It's cute. >> $20. That's it. >> It's actually quite good. >> Yeah, you would only sell that for $20. The actual painting. Like people sell copies for that. >> You got to get your prices up, girl. Anyways, Roman here is pink and leopard skin. She got her satin silk sheets. Oh, I thought this was just like the mattress. Okay, cool. >> Um, she's got her pink little thing up here. You know, people coming in her room. This is like the chill room. Quiet, calm, and collective boy. On and on and on. What's the song? I went on and on and on. >> This is the R&B. >> The R&B shack on and on. Yeah. Like she would play her R&B music. And the slow jams, too. >> Yeah. On baby don't you come again to be back now I say on and oh baby don't you be back I love I said I come to this if I want to hear 90s R&B music slow jams so she changed it up she's cute you know she's cute she's the makeup lash queen so she's got all her stuff here lashes lashes Queen, queen, queen. You know, she'd be in here doing her her friends lashes right here on this bed. She be laying them out. But >> Oh, she does her friends lashes. >> Yeah. She be laying them out just like this. You lay back right here. Right. Am I right? >> And you take off your hat and then she pick up your eyes like this >> and then she take your eyes up and then she do your lashes for free. My people's lashes. She done like that. So, she definitely need her own lash studio. Let's see. Should we look at the bathroom? Oh, it's clean. Oh, it's clean. Okay. You got to call the toilet. Her toilet spa. >> Okay, Joe, you do the tour of the bathroom. >> This is not my bathroom, so I can't really tell you what's in here. I mean, it smells like uh cleaning products and uh some I think it's time to go somewhere else. >> By the way, I had to put my clothes in here. And as I even took them out, but I have my clothes in here because they don't I don't have anywhere to put pillows. >> I want our house to be like this opa again. >> So you want the house to be reset and >> feel brand new again? >> Yes. >> Do you guys want? >> No. >> What? >> What? What? >> I like this house. >> I like this house. And when we get the next house, I won't even know where anything is. >> Well, it'll be a new experience. What um what's your favorite thing about this house? M >> my room. >> What's your favorite thing about this house? >> The memories. Oh, I tripped and fell and hit my cheek. >> Okay. What's your favorite memory? >> Um kitchen. >> The what in the kitchen? >> Everything. >> Oh, and my second favorite memory is when I burned myself. >> Why? Why are all the tragic memories your favorite memories? >> Oh, and and on the trampoline on the old one, AJ tripped. There was there was the big hole and I tripped and fell and hit on and hit on the ground and and and and we were all laughing. It appeared m there and we could have recorded and >> they were good memories. >> Not tragic, not tragic, not top tragic um compilation moments of horrible accidents. >> What are all their all their memories? All the all their memories is of someone hurting each other hurting each other. >> My favorite memory is when I bust my face at the end of the bedroom. >> What's your favorite memory? >> Um I don't have a favorite memory. What's my favorite place in the house? I guess the upstairs. >> The upstairs. >> Yeah. >> Why? >> Because AA made the steak and stuff and the wine things that we would eat late at night and I have good memories of while watching church up there. It's either that or my bedroom. >> What's the baby's favorite memory? >> Being born. >> You remember being born, Bubba baby? You remember being born? >> Yeah. >> What was your favorite part of the old measly house >> from the old house? I would say the staircases. >> Oh, yeah. I miss having staircases. >> Oh, cuz we never see any of our babies like go down staircases. >> Yeah, >> that sounds boring. We have to do more dramatic. Aren't I? Going and jumping, going out of the hole, tripping with the sound and the music. Oh no. Oh no. Oh no. No. No. No. No. >> We'll have the opportunity to make even more crazy slippery funny things if we had a bigger backyard and a pool. I miss. I miss taking pictures here. Even though we lived in California here, but we took pictures in the fall. All of these pictures were from the fall. Yeah. I miss the fall and I miss winter. >> Oh, I don't miss I don't miss seasons at all, Elena. I don't miss seasons at all. From here, we can get to we can find we can find winter. We can find fall anytime we want. >> Yeah, just for like 10 hours. >> My next favorite memory is when Audrey drew a not good spider. and Aaria screen and and she was like, "What is this? I thought this was a real spider." >> Well, one of the things I don't like is this kind of stuff happening. >> What? >> Kids all eating all over the place in weird random places. >> This place is too much of an open concept, right? It's just just anything happens everywhere. I mean, there are things that I do like about that, like having just like a open space, but >> after living in this house, I realized that I don't like open concept. I like freedom in structure. >> Well, do you like a I don't know what that means. I have no idea what >> as in like I like I like spaces to be defined, more defined. >> But it doesn't have to be just like it doesn't have to be a open box where >> What about a backyard? What about a backyard? >> Do you want the backyard to have defined spaces as well? >> Or are you okay for an open backyard? Like if we get a farm or just a lot of land or something? >> I think outside is different. Yeah, >> I would say so. >> Why are you so happy though? >> Why are you so happy? >> Too happy? >> Because I slept. >> So this is our home school room. This is what, like our third couch that we've probably tested out here. >> Yeah, this one works beautifully. >> This one, this one is like the right size. It's pretty much the perfect size. Almost the perfect size for this space. This couch we got from Costco. I mean, we've had other couches from different places. >> This one works so well because of the um the hidden storage case. >> But like it it works out really well with this thing, you know, throwing in all the blankets and >> I love it >> whatnot. And on this on the other side there's plugins for like you know power AC and power outlets and stuff on that side but you know sometimes we use it sometimes it doesn't because you know the space >> tell the story about the bookcase. Tell them the story about the bookcase behind you Joe. >> I had initially wanted them to be out in the main living room just because it's so open. I kind of wanted to enclose some of the spaces but we never fully committed to it and so it's like they were just kind of there but we didn't have anything on it. We weren't really >> Yeah. our family, we weren't using it in any sort of >> I said it was a bad >> I didn't set I didn't set it up in a way for the family to be using it in any sort of way. So it's like I half committed to like designing it and it's like oh well should we invest that much money into it? Doesn't make sense. Like we don't even know if we like it like that. So we moved the bookcases around in different parts of our house probably in almost every single room. >> And hopefully we'll use it in our next house maybe. >> But see like the problem The problem with these bookcases or just in anything in general is that like some things that are sort of expensive, not like super expensive, is like you don't necessarily want to keep it because it's like taking up space, but at the same time you don't want to throw it away because it's kind of expensive. >> Yeah. >> So, it's like it's in this weird middle ground and that's just what I >> think you should sell it. >> I think we should. I feel like in our next house, we should just build in things because with the kids, like they they're so rough on things, you know, and on furniture that anything that we use should be a built-in. So, if we need bookcases, we build them in, you know, we nail them into the wall. I don't want anything that's movable, changeable. You know, that hasn't really worked out too great for us. >> I think you're right about that. I think that if these bookcases were just like holes in the wall with shelves just like in all the other places, but I think another thing is that like I don't want to be in a house where it obligates you into having to buy furniture for that space. >> Well, you can make any house that. So, I don't feel like we should be looking for a house that doesn't need furniture. I think we should be designing and making it a house that doesn't need furniture. >> But as long as it doesn't take too much work. >> Well, yeah. And I want it to be cheap. So get it for $350,000. >> Get it for $350. >> Yeah. But I don't want to get a house to where it's like, okay, if we break down this wall, if we shut down this thing, we take down these cabinets, we take out these moldings. At that point, that's like a whole demolition. We're basically just breaking down a house and building a new one. Why do that, you know? But like definitely place I I I'm looking for houses or like the the layout of the home is in a way where it doesn't force you into buying furniture for that space. Some spaces in in some of the houses, it's like it's set up in a way where it's like, okay, bar stools go here. Okay, the the dining table goes here and couches here. >> Cool. Bar stools on like a Tik Tok lady and they're connected to the countertop so they can't come off >> like shelves. >> Yeah, they're like floating. They're floating barcels. Anyway, I'm trying to get a house for 350. This is what we're going to talk about on the next video. It's going to be about Why do I have to spend so much money on a house? I can just live in a 350,000. Okay, I'm not even going to start. I'm not even going to start. Watch the next video. The girls room. Remember when we tried to put up wallpaper, you guys? Yikes. >> Oh, they don't remember it. I don't Did we record that? >> Yeah, we did record this. I put it up on TikTok or something. It was a mess and we do not know how to take that walking. >> We almost got a divorce, didn't we? >> Well, some almost >> Yeah. But you know what? We realized that it wasn't either of our faults. We were trying to line up these lines. You know, there's this horizontal line that goes across over that goes across like this, right? And we're trying to line up that wallpaper with this center one with this one over here. But the problem is is that we didn't realize that this wall is slightly like bowed. >> Oh yeah, the wall is messed up. >> The wall itself is crooked. So we were trying to line up these things and it's like, "Why aren't you bringing your paper over yours?" No, you're not bringing yours in. It's like we're just arguing. But that that sounds spiritual, doesn't it? >> The actual wall itself was flawed. And so anything that we try to put up on here, it just wouldn't properly line up. >> Yeah. So this is the girls' room, their beds they have. We got these from IKEA. Um, we really need to elevate this room some paint and things like that. So, I was thinking about doing that, but since we were on the fence of like where we're going to move or not, I was like, is it worth it to paint it just to get it looking nice? Cuz the girls don't sleep in here anyway. They literally sleep inside of my bed. They they probably in the whole year 5% of the time. >> Feels like it. But here are their beds that they're supposed to be sleeping in with their stuffies and everything like that. Yeah. So, this is their closet. There is room. But one of the things that we've been trying to find room for is for these um luggage. You guys know we go on a lot of trips. I mean, it's great that we actually they do fit up there, but it's not the best cuz actually very frequently people in our house are going on trips and have to get the luggage down. So, maybe just a different storage space for that. You know, I would look for like maybe something under the stairs somewhere. You can get luggage out easier. >> Yeah. >> So, that's this. We had a big flooding problem in this bathroom. So, if you can see down here on the ground, the floors are kind of messed up and how this is kind of like browning and stuff like that. So, we had to have someone come in here and look at that to fix that. And that was a pretty big issue. The reason why that was happening is because um and this is a common theme in this house. This thing right here was installed wrong and it was installed slanted so water would spill out all over the floor and that is why it caused so much damage here. And >> there were some there were a lot of things that were not quite leveled. >> Yeah. So, let me show you something else. This thing here too is not leveled. So, we're constantly having water drip on the floor. And you see all these marks on the floor that they look like they're black marks from the chairs, but it's actually black marks from the chairs because the floor is wet all the time. So, it's just this thing is just slightly lean this way. I was trying to show the other day. You can literally physically see it. That would be flat like you're doing it on the camera. >> Yeah. So, it's about like a half inch off. And so, everything just kind of rolls this way. So, in our main house, we have four bedrooms, four full baths, and one half bath. Now, I'm going to take you to our guest house that is like one full room and a bath. >> Our ADU. >> Our adu. >> So, you see over there, those people, they have like a full like actual guest house that people live in with a door and everything. So, we could technically, and theirs goes all the way across their backyard. So, we could technically have that here, too, and add more space going all across here and a garage on the bottom. And that's something that we've consider to add more space on the home instead of moving. I was still thinking about it. >> Yeah. What are you doing? >> My name. Welcome to Joe's humble abode where he spends all his days. Let's see the condition of it. The kids had movie night up here last night um while Elena was uh having her nice little sleep. Elena used to sit here all the time in the sun back in the day. Elena used to spend a lot of time up here. What happened >> after I had that baby? >> Uhhuh. Well, it's pregnant. >> So, we have like Airzo doing homechool up here. We do some editing over in the corner. Um, but yeah, I mean, for the most part, this is kind of just like a detached part of our house that we use for when we have guests. >> Banana popsicles are quite tasty. >> Mhm. >> This is Joe's little mini refrigerator friend stuff. >> Oh, it's not looking so full anymore, Joe. Yeah. I actually haven't been using eating a lot of the things in here. >> But I mean for you >> Yeah. I drank the Power Eats that you bought. >> Mhm. >> Those are all the stuff that you like, right? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> No, because I heard one wise woman say, "If you don't know what to get someone, just get them what you like." >> Which wise woman? California.
