This PSA to CDC regrade has the most unexpected result yet. There's one card in this submission that absolutely caught me by surprise. And when I saw it, I kind of did a backflip into a dookie. No, I mean, no, my reaction was perfectly normal. I didn't do anything crazy. Like always, we'll go over the cost and the value of each card, and I'll give myself a letter grade at the end. Let's get right to it. First up in this submission is Charizard Evolutions Hollow. I got in a PSA 9. I am very familiar with this card now and I've done several re-grades with it. So, I think I have a fairly decent idea of what could probably [music] get a 10. I guess that it was going to get a 9.5 because after cracking it out, I did notice some whitening and some other issues. Still maybe hope for 10 if we get lucky. CDC gave the card a 10. So, we're off to a fantastic start. I have regraded this so much. I think I mentioned before I'm a little bit sick of this card. I am going to sell this one. I definitely don't need it. I want nothing to do with this card. All right, let's move on. Mewtwo EX Breakthrough Secret Rare Holo I got in a PSA 9. This card has been dropping a little bit and I did buy it at a somewhat of a high price, but I really did think it was going to get a higher grade, but when I cracked out this card, I noticed some issues again, which seems to be a common theme lately. I guess that it was going to get a nine. Mewtwo is just so excited in this card to be fighting alongside his friends. >> Yeah, let's go. >> At least give it a nine. That's all I'm asking. Please. And CGC gives the card an 8.5. Woohoo. Okay. Well, that's not great. That's a bit of a slap in the face after the nice 10 grade from the Charizard. Whatever. I'm not going to try to regrate it or anything. I'm going to accept the 8.5 as it is. I'm going to sell it. Eat the loss, which I'm so accustomed to doing now. You can't win them all. We know this. Let's move on to the next one. Umbreon Undaunted Holo. This card has several variations. There's like the regular holo, the reverse holo, and I think there's like a cracked ice holo. What is this? Like a sport card with all the different variations. Why is Umbreon always on a rooftop? This card is on a rooftop. There's like 20 other different cards where Umbreon is just chilling on a roof. The seller listed it for a pretty cheap price compared to like a CGC9. They're around the same. So, I was like, "Okay, this is a pretty lowrisk move for me." This one, I guess that it was going to get a nine. There were some white dots on the back surface. I was like, "There's no way this is going to get a 10." But hey, maybe CDC will surprise us. Maybe they're lenient on their tens because a lot of people think they are. You know, oh, they just hand out [music] tens. Well, CDC gives it a nine. So, from a PSA 9 to CDC 9. Can't complain about that. I think that's very [music] fair. I probably was a bit too hasty in buying it, but sometimes you got to do that. You got to take the risk. It's [music] perfectly okay. I'm going to sell it at a loss again. I'm fine. I swear I'm okay. The next card, Lugia [music] Pop Series Cosmos Hollow. This one is incredibly cool. I've barely even seen this card before. I thought it was fantastic. Lugia's neck is like elongated to a [music] degree I've never seen before. He's like a flying giraffe. This one I got in a PSA 8. And when I cracked it, I noticed some issues. There was actually a tiny tiny little dent in the front as well on the yellow border, which is impossible to see in the scan. So, I guess it was going to get an 8.5. And what do you think CGC gave it? Maybe an 8.5. Maybe they were a bit lenient. No. CDC gives it an eight. So, from a PSA 8 to a CDC 8, two in a row where CDC graded the exact same as PSA. CDC so far is looking very similar to a PSA in their standards for this submission, which honestly they kind of are. They're just not afraid to hand [music] out tens. Anyway, I am going to sell this one. I don't need to keep it even though I think it's cool. I am going to lose a little bit of money again for the third card in a row, which is not always great to see, but that's okay. Again, we'll just keep on keeping on for alligator. Step on up. Come right up and see the dancing alligator. A once in a-lifetime opportunity to see the dancing alligator. >> Mommy. Mommy. I can't wait to see the dancing alligator. I can't wait. It's going to be so much fun. We spent our whole life savings on seeing the dancing alligator. And here he is. It's the dancing alligator for alligator. [laughter] Mommy, what's he doing? I don't know. Little Bon Bon doesn't seem like this is really worth it. [laughter] Mommy, this is terrible. Uh, it's okay, Bon Bon. Hopefully, we can get a refund. Oh, man. I really do enjoy this card. I've been [music] chasing it to try to get a 10 for a little while now. I got it in a PSA 7. My guess was that it was going to get a nine. It's really hard to go from a PSA [music] 7 to a CDC 10, but I thought it was at least deserving of a nine, and CDC gives the card a nine. So, that's a good value gain there from a seven to a nine. Much more deserving in my opinion. [music] Great card. I am going to sell it though. As much as I like it, I don't need it. And that's okay. Next up, Slow King Neoenesis first edition hollow. I've regraded this one several times. And there's a nice little foot swirl next to his giant foot. Or is that just like a huge toenail? I did think it looked pretty clean when I cracked it. I guess it was going to get a 9.5. CGC gave this card a nine. So, eight to a nine. That's pretty common for this card for me. I'm going to sell it. Just sit tight. We're almost getting to the card. A couple more until we'll get to the card where it had the most unexpected regrade yet. We're almost there. Up next, we have Lugia Neoenesis Hollow. Whenever I see this card, I am willing to take the risk on regrading it, even if it might not grade that high because just the chance of it getting a 10 has an astronomical profit gain. [music] So, I will probably get this card more often than maybe I should. This one in particular had some hollow [music] scratching and some other issues in the back. So, my guess was that it was going to get a nine. And CDC gives a card an 8.5. Ah, man. Going from an eight to an 8.5 is is always a bit of a kick in the butt. It's better than getting a lower grade, which has happened before. Even though, like I said, I do try to find cards that I think could grade higher. You can't win every single time. That's fine. Hopefully, I'll sell it for a round even or so. I try not to keep cards if possible because I just need to get rid of them [music] so I can fuel more regrades. Hound. Upon hearing its eerie howls, other Pokémon get the shivers and head straight back to their nests. >> Well, what if a Pokémon doesn't have a nest, you idiot? Hound room is wearing ankle weights, probably to train his legs to become stronger. This one I got in a PSA 8. And my guess was I was going to get a nine. And CDC gives the card a nine. Exactly what I guessed, which is fine. So, I'm going [music] to sell this one. Basically breaking even on this card here or around there. So, not great. Here is the card we've been waiting for. This is the card with [music] the most unexpected regrade I've ever had. And this is base set Charizard Hollow. A fantastic card that I got in a PSA 8. And my guess was that it was going to get an 8.5. And the reason why I thought it was going to get an 8.5 was because mainly there's some edge whitening on the back of the card that is kind of hard to see in the scan that's on the back right edge. And from what I know for CGC is that they really don't like edge whitening, especially on the back of cards. Here's where the most surprising thing happened. Buckle up. It's crazy. CGC gives the card a 10, which has completely saved my submission once again. I am overjoyed. I actually cannot believe it. I am jumping up and down. I'm having another party. Maybe I was just a bit too strict on that edge whitening. Again, if you look at the scan, it's almost impossible to see. Everything else about the car, though, was fantastic. Maybe I was just being an idiot. It happens sometimes. Either way, I am going to sell this one. As much as it pains me to do so, I want to hold on to it. I will probably hold on to it for a little bit just so I can bask in its glory, but I will end up selling this card because [music] I really should probably take the profit on it. This is why you take the risks on the big cards like the Charizard and the Lugia. Amazing. Okay, I don't know if we can top that, but there's still some really cool and interesting regrades left in the video. This one is the Axis EX. This one I got in a PSA 8, and I paid more than I would have liked for it at the time, but I still went for it cuz it looked clean. And when I cracked it out, I guessed it was going to get a nine because the top right back corner had some whitening. I didn't really know how CDC was going to treat that. This card is very cool. Deoxys is moving at the speed of light. I think it's his speed form. I'm not really up to date on the lore of Deoxys and how many forms it has. If anyone in the comments wants to go and drop me a novel on all the different forms of Deoxys and which one's the best, go for it. Have a ball. I'll read the whole thing. CGC gives a card a 10. So that's two cards in a row. That's a nice pleasant surprise. And I'm super excited [music] about that grade. It's a beautiful card. I love it. It actually looks so nice in person. The scans kind of don't do it justice. With that being said, I am going to sell it. My default setting for most of these cards is to sell it so I can fund my obsession and addiction of regrading as much as it pains me to do so because I I do want to keep it. I love it. Oh, Ldios EX from EX Dragon. I love these cards with a silver border. As you can probably tell, this era of cards I think are just beautiful. I got in a PSA 8. My guess was I was going to get a CDC 8.5. CDC gives the card a nine. So, a half grade, more than I was expecting, which is great. Not much of a value gain. I think one actually just recently sold for above 400. I think it's probably worth more than what I put here. So hopefully we can sell it for a little bit more cuz I am going to sell it. Laddios and Laddios are amazing. If I did get this in a 10, I would probably keep it, take the money back and invest it in future regrading. Mewtwo EX from EX Ruby and Sapphire. I mention it all the time, but Mewtwo is always generating some kind of aura sphere of some kind. My guess for this card was that it was going to get a nine and CDC gives the card a nine. Yeah, there's a little bit of hollow scratching uh on the card. Oh well, I'm going to probably end up losing money here or so. Hopefully breaking even on it. I am going to sell it. Card is really cool, but I don't want it. Get it out of here. Up next, we have Septile from EX Ruby and Sapphire. The last time I had this card, I actually got in a CDC pristine. So, I was like, "Hey, maybe Lightning can strike twice. Maybe I'll get lucky again." Septile is mischievous. He's a little sneaky. He's got yellow balls on his back. I don't know what they do. Don't touch my balls. Why? What happens if you squeeze them? Then the yellow pus comes out. Okay. It's my defense mechanism. Don't squeeze my balls. Okay. Yeah, I won't touch them. I'll stay clear. Jeez. My guess was I was going to get a 9.5. I was like, "Oh, there's a sliver of hope for a 10 maybe." And CDC gives the card a nine. So, yeah, a little bit disappointed here. The profit is pretty much nothing. Hoping to sell it and break even on it. Again, another kind of disappointing regrade, but that's okay. We'll go on to the next card. I just noticed his move is lizard poison. So that's probably where the poison comes from. His yellow balls on the back. Yeah, that's right. Dark Raichu Team Rocket first [music] edition holo I got in a PSA 8. And my guess was that it was going to get an 8.5. And Raichu is just so menacing in this one. He's very evil looking, but he's still got cute little stubby arms and stubby feet. How can you not think he's so adorable? You're a big softy Raichu. >> No. And CDC gives this card a nine. I mean, not really too great, but a little bit of a profit gain, so that's fine. I really hope to get this one in a 10 someday. It is a beautiful [music] card. Can't really complain anytime when you go from an eight to a nine, but that's all right. Again, we'll just move on. Erica's Venusaur gym challenge [music] first edition hollow. It is really hard to make out what's going on behind Venusaur there, but he is like awkwardly to the right of this card, but it also looks like he's standing on a swirl on this [music] card, which is kind of cool. And Venusaur, of course, looks a little bit confused as to where he is. eight. This one I got in a PSA 88. My guess was that it was going to get a nine. CGC gives the card a 9, so I was correct in my guess, which is always nice. A tiny little bit of value gain. This one was interesting cuz it the price has been a bit all over the place. The CDC buy it now have gone all the way up to like 600, but the auctions have been way lower, which is typical of CGC cards. A little tip for anyone who is selling CDC cards, do not put your cards in auction if you're willing to just wait because they typically sell for a lot less because the demand just isn't there. You're better off waiting for the right buyer in my opinion. Anyway, I'm going to sell this card and hopefully get a little bit of a profit as well. Sabrina's Gengar Japanese Challenge from the darkness with the tombstones in the background. We all love this card, right? It's a fantastic card. It's the band card. You know, the one that was modified in the English version. I got it in a PSA 9 and I did buy it full well knowing that the centering was terrible, but it was technically a little bit under 60/40 I believe, which I know could get a 10 from CGC if you're lucky. And the seller had this for a very low price at the time compared [music] to the other PSA 9. So I was like, you know what, I'll take the risk. Okay. When I cracked it out, I did notice some back whitening issues. So I guess it was going to get a nine. And CGC gives the card a nine. And so from a PSA 9 to a CGC9. Again, it happens fairly often. I [music] was correct in my guess, which is always nice, but I'm probably going to break even on it or maybe lose a little bit as I sell. And I am going to sell the card. I [music] definitely don't need this one. I've regraded this one multiple times. Gengar is very popular [music] in his ghostly ethereal form on the card. It's wonderful. But you got to go. Sabrina's Gengar gym challenge first edition. I got this one in a PSA 9. Spent a pretty penny on it. I actually almost guessed this one was going to get a 10, but I end up going with a 9.5 because I did notice a little bit of whitening. So, I was a bit conservative with the guess. He almost looks like a shady salesman trying to sell you something. You want to buy these jars of ectopplasm? WHAT? WHAT IS ECTOPPLASM? OH, you don't want to know. Let's just keep that a secret. So, CDC gave this card a nine, which uh it was definitely a disappointment when I saw that because I thought it might even get a 10. So, this one I'm just going to crack it and send it to CDC one more time, which is always fun to do to test their consistency and see if they'll maybe give it a nine again or maybe we'll get lucky and get a 10. So, I'm going to send it off in probably my next submission with CDC or so and see what it gets. Another Gengar card. [music] That's the third Gengar card in a row if you're keeping track at home. This one I got in a PSA 7 and I guessed it was going to get an 8.5. [music] Gengar looks so goofy in this one. It almost looks like the bottom of his body is just his big chin. CDC ended up giving the card an eight. And the card is actually so popular that even going from a PSA 7 to a CDC 8 nets you a bit of a profit, which is nice. And I think an eight is a much more deserving grade of this card than a seven. It looks very clean to the naked eye. And I'll take that little bit of a profit and run to the hills. Okay, moving on to the next one. Tyranitar Expedition Hollow. This card is incredible. Looks like he's just chucking rocks around in [music] anger. >> I hate rocks. >> Unfortunately, I didn't really get it for a great value. I paid top [music] dollar for a PSA 8 around the time. I guess that this card was actually going to get an eight. Mainly because there's two tiny little indents on the back of the card along with some edge whitening. The dents on the back of the card are really, really hard to see. You can't see it on the scan and they are really small. CDC gave the card a nine, which honestly I was blown away. I did not think it was going to get a nine at all because usually CDC is really harsh on the little tiny surface issues. Still losing money on this card a little bit, but I think I can sell it a little bit higher than the value I put here because the card has been going up. There just hasn't been any CGC9 sales for quite a while. Going to sell it. Going to move on. I like to end my submissions on a nice positive note and we haven't yet, but maybe the last card maybe we will. Maybe things will go our way. Okay, it's the last card of the submission. [music] It's the third expedition card in a row. This card is probably one of my favorite or my favorite Blastoise card to exist. He's like swimming towards you. Imagine you're just dropped in an ocean. You see this creature swimming towards you like this. What do you do? I would swim as fast as I could. Oh, wait. No, I don't have arms. I just drop like a rock to the bottom of the ocean. I got this in a PSA and my guess was I was going to get a 9. CDC. I gave the card A9. Well, not great there. losing a little bit of money as well. But again, this set has been increasing in price, so maybe we'll get lucky and sell it for around breaking even or so. Anyway, I'm going to sell this card. What can you do? You know, I got lucky earlier, so I can't complain. Here are the grade stats for the submission. The PSA grade average was 8.15, bumped [music] to a CDC average of nine. So, an average bump of 85 or an increase of 10%. Again, every card that I get, I think, could potentially grade higher. So, this is probably around an average [music] submission in terms of the grade bump difference here. And let's go on to the final results. My [music] total cost was around $7,600, which is quite a bit of money. My guesses [music] were pretty low in this. If I guessed everything correctly, I would have $8,300. Luckily, my guesses were pretty bad, especially on that Charizard. [music] So, my total value was actually around $12,500 with a profit of $4,800. Now, again, really at the end of the day, one card saved this whole regrade submission and it was that crazy Charizard base set hollow. [music] and we only got three out of the 20 cards come back at 10. So, I'm giving myself a grade of B+, which I think is pretty fair. Also, feel free to join the Discord.
