Analysis Summary
Ask yourself: “Is this structured to help me understand something, or to keep me watching?”
Performed authenticity
The deliberate construction of "realness" — confessional tone, casual filming, strategic vulnerability — designed to lower your guard. When someone appears unpolished and honest, you evaluate their claims less critically. The spontaneity is rehearsed.
Goffman's dramaturgy (1959); Audrezet et al. (2020) on performed authenticity
Worth Noting
Positive elements
- This video provides a rare, transparent look at the actual high-volume logistics and costs associated with maintaining a household of eleven people.
Be Aware
Cautionary elements
- The use of 'clickbait' conflict (the stealing accusation) to sustain interest in a 57-minute video that is primarily a long-form advertisement for a budgeting tool.

Today we are going to do a Costco haul. >> Yes, we are. We are trying to stock up on everything that we need for our family and our nine kids, y'all. >> Mhm. >> I don't know why I'm doing that, but um [laughter] you >> just scratch your head. >> No, like pet my head like I got we leave. We are totally out of meat in our freezer. We're totally out of snacks for the kids. We're out of everything. So, we're going to go there and bring everything home. Have the kids look through all this stuff. You know, kids love to look through stuff when you bring the groceries home and then put it all away. This is everything I got from Costco. [laughter] [music] So, what we're going to do is we're going to try to stock up for the whole year on like laundry detergent, like soap, conditioner, uh hand soap, toilet paper. Yeah. Stuff like that. But then for food, we there's no way we could ever keep a whole year's worth of food in this house for everybody. We're going to try to fill up our five fridges and our 1, two, three, four freezers. Just going to try to pack it and refill our pantry and everything at like that. >> Sounds good to me. >> Joe, we got to stay on a budget. How much do you think it's going to spend? >> $800. >> Bro, it's not going to be $800. Yo, I know for a [music] fact it's going to be at least like 2,000. >> Last time you spent how much? Like 600 or so. >> And that didn't seem like that much stuff. >> No, not at all. It might be for Oh my gosh, you have enough money in a bank. Let me transfer [laughter] over some money. Oh, before I forget, for this new year, Joe and I have been parenting with Love and Logic. [laughter] >> So, this morning, we're literally on our bed reading Love and Logic together, the parenting book. And we came up with this really cool idea. So, one of our kids was asking us, can they go to the store, go to Target, and buy some food? And we said no. And then we got a really good idea. So, we put this list of this chore list with numbers and money on it. And it's it's totally optional. They don't have to do this, but if he wants to, he may choose from this list of activities to do. And these are chores around the house that he may optionally do and earn money. Now, you see that? That totals up to how much? >> $21. >> However, there's a catch. We have to teach real world adulting. Yes. When you get money, you don't get to keep it all, right? We have taxes. We have things we got to pay for. We got to save for a hard time. So, we have told him that he needs to save money for taxes, saving money for social security and Medicare, but that's 15.3% cuz he is his own business. He figured out that he is a contractor and then he's going to do 10% for tithing and 30% for savings. So, eventually he'll have about 50% of this money left right here of his chores. Mhm. >> Let's go see how he's doing with that. >> All right, >> Audrey. >> Yes. What you doing, boy? >> Cleaning. >> Oh, you you're doing your contracting business work. And how much are you going to get after you do all your chores after taxes? >> I don't know. >> About how much percent. >> 47.75. >> Right. So, what did you learn that in the real world when you make money? What? >> I don't know. >> It gets taken away. Right. Some of it. Got to give it back to good old America. >> The good old America. >> Good old what's his name? Um, Uncle Tom. >> Uncle Tom. People already keep on taking my money. >> Land of the free >> social security. What did you What did you say? But I said you have to pay for social security and Medicare. >> I said I don't have I don't care. [laughter] >> Yo, every American who works is required and who has their own business is required to put into Medicare. >> Are you saving for retirement? >> Don't you want to stop one day? Don't you want to stop your job, your business? Yeah. He's saving. He's saving 30%. Working away, my boy. THERE YOU GO, MY BOY. >> YOU going to help him? >> You up next. [music] [music] So, this year we're going to try to eat a little bit healthier. At least that's one of my own personal goals. I want to do more fasting. I want to be more um conscious of how I eat and what what it is that I'm eating [music] and if I feel like I want to eat a whole bunch of food, just watching what that is as well. What about you? >> No, I really [music] honestly say like I don't feel like I eat unhealthy, >> you know? Yeah. >> But, you know, I've been pregnant for the past year or so. I feel like I've been making really healthy choices. It's like I've been eating a lot of fruit, but I definitely feel like I could stand to lose a little bit of extra pounds. So, I just feel like in general as a family, we don't eat unhealthy. I don't know what that would look like, but [music] we It's not like we no longer eat out every day. We basically make almost all of our meals at home except for maybe like on Fridays when we eat out. But I definitely do feel like I'm not getting enough variety of fresh foods, I guess you could say. Like I'm usually just having the kale and the collard greens, you know, the mushrooms and onions and we just keep eating that over and over again. So I feel like putting >> more colorful Yeah. colorful >> foods. >> Like last night I was just thinking about before we ate dinner, I was thinking, you know what would be really good right now? Like if I just had a whole bunch of vegetables and I just put it all on a plate. I would just eat that before I went to bed. >> Makes sense. >> At Costco is known for having like a good variety [music] of really high quality foods. Like if you look for it, you'll find it. I know they have like items there that high quality like packet food items that don't have like seed oils and stuff like that. And I think we should also stock up on olive oil because olive oil is so good for us. And when we're eating olive oil on [music] everything >> Uhhuh. >> like I got like this may seem counterintuitive, but I got slim. >> Slimmer? >> Yes. I got slimmer when we were doing the Well, we were doing the one meal a day and you were putting olive oil on everything. >> Oh yeah. We would have uh dinner dates every single night. Yeah. But that's also when you got pregnant, too. [laughter] >> That's all I'm saying, Joe. When you feed me good, you know. >> See, that's what I'm afraid of. >> So, that's why you should always feed your woman junk food. What happens then? >> You say you won't get them pregnant. Is that what you're saying? They won't be >> They stay disgusting. They get nasty and and slimy and stinky. Their farts stink. Okay, let's play a game. Okay, >> guess how much money we spent last year. >> Why do you do like nervous fingers like you're nervous? >> Okay, I'm [laughter] ready, you know, not nervous. It's just It's like I'm about to get to work or something. >> How much money do you think we spent last year on eating out? >> Ooh, last year. Okay, so we were kind of like saving moneyish sort [music] of. So, >> did you notice that we were saving money that we were trying to? >> Yeah. No, I was more conscious of it last [music] year than the year before. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Um I want to say eating out uh let's say like 5K. >> Good. We spent $4,71147. Not bad. >> What about the year before though? >> The year before. >> Year before I want to say like 12,000. We spent $7,65310. >> Okay. So, we reduced it by >> by 3,000 >> almost. Reduced by like what? 70%. >> No, not reduced it by 70%. Reduced it by like 30%. >> 30%. Okay. >> 70% one 30% off. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. >> Yeah. Yeah. For takeout, I feel like I was conscious and basically basically just one day I told myself I don't know why I'm going to like these health restaurants for takeout. I can just first of all eliminate needing to do takeout, like cooking more food at home. And then if I do do takeout, I'm going to McDonald's and In-N-Out in Chick-fil-A. >> Fast food. >> Yeah, because even though it's like cheaper, I mean I mean Yeah, fast food. I was like, well, why if I'm going to eat out, I might as well eat fast food, but just eat [music] less of it eating out. >> Okay. I mean, there's that logic. Yeah. Like why are we eating like uh chicken [music] rice bowls that cost an arm and a leg when I could just go to McDonald's and get that $6 special once in a while? You know what I'm saying? And I don't feel no difference. >> I get what you're saying. >> Yeah. Matter of fact, I feel healthier not eating all that food. I mean, my wallet is heavier [laughter] >> and your mind is clear, >> right? Yeah. So, guess how much we spent on coffee last year? >> Last year. >> Mhm. going out to >> coffee just specifically coffee shops. >> Oh, okay. Um 300. >> Oh, close, close, close. We spent $32.77. And then the year before that, >> probably like I want to say like triple. It's got to be at least triple. >> The year before that we spent $1,700. >> Oh, more than triple. >> Yeah, we spent a lot. I realized last year we did this. No, like the year 2023, we looked at our finances in 24 when we did our like little money thing and I was like, "Oh my gosh, we spend so much money on coffee." We purposely stopped to do >> stop getting coffee. We started actually just making our own coffee. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Like the coffee shops around here, they're I mean, we're in California. The places are in nice areas. So rather than going there and getting a cup of coffee, drinking it, and then walking around, we would just make our coffee and then we would go to the parks and areas that we would walk to anyways. >> Yeah. >> Or we would go and get the grounds. Not grounds >> when when you go and >> get a bag of beans. >> Yeah. We would just go and get our bag of beans and then usually it comes with like a free coffee anyways. So we would just get a free coffee. >> So we wanted to get like our like go out and get coffee fixed. We just buy the whole coffee. [laughter] >> Yeah. just like just just having that ritual of going out together and just spending that like little [music] sliver of time together regardless of what that looks like. >> And we bought some really nice like [music] um what are they called? >> Oh, like thermos um thermoses. Yeah. >> Yeah. How much do you think we spent on groceries last year, Joe? >> I'm going to say 22,000. >> Not bad. We spent $20,885.97. >> How did you know? You were really close. >> I >> Well, guess how much we spent the year before that. >> Uh, more than that. >> How much? Guess >> 25. >> Yeah. 26,800. >> 26. Okay. >> Yeah. So, we literally decreased our grocery bill by $6,000, you guys. >> Mhm. We knew we were spending too much on groceries the year 2024. So when we went into 2025, we made very specific changes on how we were grocery shopping. >> You thought they were specific? I thought they were subtle. >> In 2023, when I saw that we spent $35,000 on groceries? >> Yeah. >> I stopped going to all the little fancy, dancy, eating out restaurants. >> Like I like I completely cut it out. Like when's the last time you saw me get like like a boba drink? I I don't remember the last time I saw tapioca balls, >> right? I [music] stopped shopping at those gourmet uh grocery stores, everything. >> I think one of the things is definitely we started to make a lot more meals at home and >> like probably cut our takeout takeout or eating out >> by at least like 70%. >> 70. Yeah. I purposely started >> buying more >> but no going to the buying going more grocery store shopping and making sure that the house was stocked with food. >> So you had something easy to cook when you cooked. >> I started shopping at Walmart, Trader Joe's, Bonds, like deal shopping and just shopping at the places where I knew the food is inexpensive instead of going >> super convenient. >> You know where you know that they have all the you know >> the bougie stuff. >> Yeah, bougie. But also like they they rack [music] up their prices by like almost double sometimes. >> Yeah. Also, I started buying the meals, the po people meals, vegetables, sausages, and rice. I mean, that's what I ate growing up. >> Mhm. >> It's good, too. I mean, I don't I don't have a lot of it. >> It's It's It used to be cheaper back in the day. It's not Those poke sausages [music] cost a lot of money today. >> Why do you guys say like poke >> poke? That's how you say it. Poke sausages. [music] Poke sausages. What? >> Pork. >> Poke. [laughter] I said poke. You saying it wrong. >> Pork. >> No, not pork. Like [music] fork. Poke. >> Poke. >> Right. Hand me that folk. >> Poke. >> Hand me that folk. >> Folk. [laughter] >> Okay. Okay. Okay. Um, and we started utilizing Sprouts. Sprouts has these amazing deals sometimes like >> 99 cent just like out of the blue. >> So many 99 cent deals at [music] Sprouts. High quality. >> Yeah. They would have like the that mushroom box and we would get it that you would be like $13 and then it would be like a [music] dollar. >> So we would just like stock up on all that, freeze what we can, especially if there [music] were shelf stable things like we just got all that barbecue sauce, that Kindred barbecue sauce for $1. >> Barbecue [music] sauce, honey. >> So if there's like honey and it's a dollar, mind you, Joe's in there putting all 30 honeys in his cart. >> Yeah. Well, no. I I always feel bad. I always leave like one or two. >> You leave one or two. Okay, good job. You leaving some for the people >> unless there's only five of them and then [laughter] I'll take all of them. But I don't want to walk out there with like 30. Like >> I do. I ain't got no shame. One time some good name brand cereal went on sale. I I wiped them out on Monday, came back on Tuesday. Nobody was buying it in our house. Like I grocery shop, but Joe grocery shops too. Like I'll do like the shelf stable stuff, like the items that we need weekly, and he'll usually do like the meats and >> the meats, the fresh stuff [music] that we're going to cook, like >> for dates and stuff, cuz I don't know. I guess I'm a little bit more spontaneous about I mean, sometimes I plan some things, but a lot of times I'm spontaneous about what it is that we're going to eat for that day. Sometimes what you want to eat is different every single day. >> I know. And I ask you to go out and give me my stuff, my things. I put you on grocery runs. And I think you kind of like knowing that [music] I just got fresh produce that day, don't you? >> Yeah, I like getting it that day of, but then I don't really have a good way of tracking how much you're spending and adding it up of how much I'm spending >> and like you knowing like how much more money we have to spend for that week, let's say, or that month. It's hard to keep track of. [music] >> So earlier this week, we just took a little bit of time to look over our finances [music] to do a deep dive of like what our spending habits are looking like. So, we chose to use Monarch, the sponsor of today's video, to get a better look at our finances. Monarch is a private personal finance platform. You can see all of your accounts, your spending, your net worth, debt payoff progress, and reoccurring bills in this beautiful, clean dashboard. And it syncs with over 13,000 institutions. We were able to connect all of our bank accounts. So, that's our mortgages, our car loan payments, our checking accounts, our savings accounts, our retirement funds, and our credit cards. And this theme did such a good job of just like pulling everything from all of our statements and categorizing everything. You guys, I basically only had to make like two changes. And we had a very clear picture of the [music] last 2 years of our spending. And it has the ability to like we can both log on to it at the same time basically. So we both have access. >> Yeah. And we have like the same shared view of like what our goals are and like the reoccurring bills. And the couple shared view keeps like us in line with like what the big grand picture looks like for our finances. [music] >> With flexible budgeting, you can separate fixed and flexible spending and customize your rules and your categories so you can keep everything organized. There's no ads and no selling data. And you can use Monarch on both web and mobile. I really like the visual representation of like the little stream looking thing because it really shows like when you [music] think of like cash flow like the flow of like how much mass of something goes into what and and like we're trying to penny pinch on some things when we really shouldn't even do that. It's like why why why try to save a penny over here, a penny over there when >> a penny at the cafes, a penny at the the when we need to be living in a different house with a smaller mortgage. Well, that's that's one solution, but there's other things that we can tackle that are a little bit more, you know, prominent. >> Wait, not a smaller house, just a smaller mortgage. So, start off your year with a clearer financial picture with Monarch. You can start a free trial today, plus get 50% off using our code, Maisley50, but don't forget to click our QR code or use the link in the description so they know that you came from the Masley channel and we can get credit for it. Thanks again to Monarch for sponsoring today's [music] video. >> Let's go. Yo, we're gonna need two carts. What's this one little itty bitty thing going to do? >> Yeah. What is it going to do? >> Nothing. >> All right. I guess I should get one, too. >> All right. We got the double carts. Here we go. How are we going to tackle this? >> Um, >> I don't know. Let's do zones. >> Zones. Okay. These are six avocados for Yeah. But they like the kids love these. I bought it for them the last time. our first things in a cart, which is about 20 avocados and 20 pounds of oranges. [laughter] >> $2 each, but you can get this from the dollar store for a dollar. Um, I'll get this. This is just like in case guests come over. At least we have some toothpaste to use. And I really like Colgate. This cost $7.99. See, and I can get five packs of toothbrushes from Targets for $2. >> Xylitol. >> Xylitol. Yeah, I like to have xylitol toothpaste. So, I just got one. I got one pack for gas and stuff like that in case I'm broke and poor and I can't pay $10 for toothpaste. Yeah, this is the brand I use, but that's still that's pricey. $20. That's $2.50 a bar. That is how much I pay for it. Okay, let's get that. This so little bit. What's that going to do for us? Okay, nothing's on sale in these aisles. So, we're going to move on to the next part. Food. These are little soft baked bars. These are cute. I'm going to get these. We should try new things. This is oat organic oatmeal apple crisp. These look pretty ridiculously healthy. They just got oats and palm oil. And let's try that. I think the kids will like that. I just get all of them when everything. Oh, I also got these ones. The protein bars. These lasted a really long time. Those lasted for like 3 months. Well, then I feel like we don't need so many Z bars then. But the kids go through the Z bars the quickest. Chocolate almonds. Joe, please don't bring those into the house. Those are like a vice. Chocolate covered nuts. You said you want us to lose weight, not gain weight. >> That's on you. No one necessarily >> likes pistachio almond. >> I like I like all those things individually, but >> more protein. Five grams of protein somehow. Are you going to get the big thing of trail mix? I think it's not bad. We'll think about it. These are good, Joe. The Skinny Pops. Okay, we got a lot of good snacks for the kids. Now, we're going to look for something that has more protein in it. Ooh, Joe, look at this. They have Korean barbecue pork jerky. M. That looks so good. What do you think? I don't know. >> Yeah, get that. >> I don't see any Korean writing on it. >> That is Does that matter? This is a good deal. Well, I'm going to get one for me. And then if I get it, don't eat it. >> Why? >> Because you said it didn't have any Korean writing on it. Why did you only get one? >> This looks legitimately Korean. They have the ingredients. See, look. They have the ingredients right here on the package. >> That's That's advertising brand. >> No, that's Korean. They got the Kirkland steak strips. I wonder what these taste like. What are those? Beef jerky. >> Yeah, but this doesn't it doesn't feel right. You know, >> you can't feel it. It's inside of a pack. >> I'm telling you, like there's a certain feeling when you pick up beef jerky and sometimes they're just too like rectangular and hard. >> Mhm. >> It's just I like my jerky a little bit wet and >> Yeah. Well, this one is obviously wet. Look. Look at how wetness seeping through that container. >> Joe, I'm telling you, you're going to be sad that you don't got it. You want me? >> I already I got two. I already got you one. Oh, our favorite chomps. 100% grass-fed. I love this jalapeno, y'all. I might as well get original, too, cuz the kids love this one. Joe, this is only $3.99. It's on sale. Originally, it's $5.49. At least get one. You can taste it. Okay, we got some snacks for the kids, but I realized if I keep packing my cart with this Ooh, party wings. Joe, none of that stuff over there is healthy. You want to eat? Oh, that's all cookies. >> No, you said you wanted to eat cheese. >> One side of the bagel. >> Okay. Talking about you just wanted to eat healthier. >> I mean, we're looking at steak right now. >> Steak is healthy. [music] These look good. They're already cooked. The kids might like this for themselves for breakfast. Oh, I love this soup. I'm going to get this for myself to eat. >> Have one later. >> Maybe I'll try this. The wild chicken and wild rice soup. Here's what our carts are currently looking like right now. It's stuffed. No more room for really anything else. But I need my drinks. What is this? Oh, this is cool. I got the um fresh broccoli. What is this? Yeah. Okay. Well, we've been shopping for 1 hour and 15 minutes, and we only got through probably [music] a third of the store, but we have to leave because we got to get back cuz I was having a game today. Well, now we got to get in one of these long lines. 16 99 199 11 99 62 96 >> 26 16 21 80 24 99 24 99 24 10 23 22 31 $25.99. >> Okay, so we finished up at Costco. These people do know on my nerves checking these whole receipts. They must got what? We trying to steal something. I don't know why they checked every single item like that. All they have to do is count the items. Anyway, our total one receipt 852 and the one receipt 550. So that's definitely just a month, a half of two weeks. >> [screaming] >> We are finished. Now we got to hurry up and put all this stuff into our car, get it out because we are so late because those people thought we were stealing from Costco. So they sat there and they didn't just count every single item. They made sure each and every single item was scanned. Why? Who knows? They're probably some racist people. Why? Why? Why are they saying us just because we have a lot of items? A whole bunch of people in Costco have a lot of items. Were they counting? Were they counting other people's items? No, that doesn't make any sense. Mercedes made me late for my baby's basketball game. >> Joseph, everybody was laughing at me in the parking lot. >> Yeah. >> Okay. We put one grocery cart of groceries in and we still all of this stuff to put in there. Is it going to fit? >> I think we'll make it. >> Just throw it in there any type of way. We'll make it. Why you buy this salad for today? >> Crossables. I'm going to eat one of these to make me feel better. My thing starts at 3:00. >> 3 the game. No, she just messaged me. It must be 3:30. There's no way. Go, go, go, go, go, go. Run, run, run. Bye. Do good. I'mma come back. >> Bye. As I got to her game, okay, if you were wondering. Yeah. But, um, we're now we're about to put all of these groceries into the refrigerator. You want to help me buy ours? Yeah. We have these three refrigerators here. I just told Joe, >> I really don't think it's very efficient for us to have like all these refrigerators and stuff like that. I really think that we just need like a refrigeration room or like a freezer room. Like if this garage was a freezer room, I mean, we can just literally just take this car straight in there, >> just drop it off onto the ground. >> Especially like when you're getting items from Costco, like they're they don't even come in bags. We could just put the whole box inside. Or if like we wanted to buy a cow, >> we just have the whole cow just hooked on there and then we just chop what we want for the day. >> I'm in my soft girl era. My softwoman my femininity error. >> I can't lift heavy things. >> Can't even lift the baby. She's so heavy. >> Uh-huh. >> Okay, you guys put this in all the boys. The boys put the stuff in for today and then Audrey, let me pay you your money. Hold on. But don't scratch. >> Mom, these are for Mom. This says balls. Balls. >> Not boring. Has some white stuff, right? >> H my foot off the thing. >> Mine. >> I don't like it. >> Yeah. >> Basketball game. >> We're going to Z's basketball game. I don't even know why I'm coming, but >> it's going to be fun. >> No, it's not. >> Seems like one of the star players. >> Star players. I think she's complaining the star player. >> She's one of the star players. GET IT. GET IT. >> GO. GO. >> GO. YES. YES. [cheering] [crying] [screaming] >> OOH. Soften it up. Soften it up. >> What are you talking about? Shoot hard. >> GO, GO, GO. DRIVING. SHOOT THAT. OH, go now. Go. Get her. Get her now. Get her. >> That's okay. You had to foul. You had to foul. >> No biggie. >> Foul. Foul. FOUL. FOUL. FOUL. BALLER. FOUL. FOUL. [cheering] >> YAY. THERE YOU GO, ISAIAH. REBOUND. >> LET'S GO. They just leaving it open FOR YOU. JUST LEAVING IT OPEN FOR YOU. >> LET'S GO. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. >> There you go. >> There you go. >> Taking [laughter] I'm not even joking. How many points did you get, girl? That was great. I know. >> You got at least I missed. >> Oh, >> you don't know how many you miss. >> How many you make? >> Exactly. 8 9 10 11 12 more points than I made. >> That's not why you guys lost. >> Because we didn't grab the rebounds. >> Yes. Like literally, you guys had so many turnovers. So they like if you don't grab the rebound, right? >> Yeah. and their ball and they get the ball back four times on their court. They have four extra chances to shoot the ball for you. >> Well, I'm not like down there. I'm like, >> you're not. So, it's those girls, those it's the fours who need to learn how to box their move their butts, box it there, and put their long arms up and jump over girls instead of letting the ball hit the ground first, taller than everyone, and then they can pick it. Anyway, that was really good, you you surprised Amaya. >> Yeah, I thought you were bad. >> She didn't know. She didn't know. >> Yeah, she's bad. A baddy basketball player. >> I know, right? I was [laughter] like, "Wow, those the guys are like looking at us like, >> oh, they're like, >> yeah, >> that's so much aura." >> So, we're about to go check out some open houses and we wanted to see if we were to add [music] an extra 2200 ft² to our house. What would that look like? So, we are here checking out one of these homes. They're on a pretty [music] small plot of land, so it's kind of like our house. And I'm trying to figure out how in the world did they get it to be 5,500 [music] ft². >> So, let's see. You know, we've been looking for a house that's under a million that's [music] over 5,000 square ft over an acre. And that's really hard to find. You know, like if you take [music] down the square feet or if you take down the acres and it gets a lot easier. >> Yep. Sure does. >> All around America. I'm like, dang, these prices have gone up, y'all. >> I think [music] there's that, but it's kind of like we kind of sort of want it all. We want the space. We want the land. We want the house. >> Yeah. >> And I guess the neighborhood's somewhat >> Yeah. >> And we can't have it all. >> Or can we? I guess we have to >> We're about to find out. >> Mhm. So, they just cook, you know, inside this room. >> There. [music] Yeah. >> Oh, that's the microwave. >> That's the microwave. >> These are two olives. Yeah. Yes. This is not bad. >> So weird to be on such a small lot and such [music] a big house, right? >> Yeah. >> Wow. It's actually [music] really big. I'm going to go left first. This is probably the primary suite. >> Yeah, probably. >> Yeah. Oh, this is nice. They have air conditioning up here and then [music] downstairs they have to heat. >> This is really nice. This house is I don't know. It's very modest. >> Yeah, it does have like kind of like a conservative vibe to it. Feel >> it. And I like that, you know. [music] I kind of want to live in like a a modest home, if that makes sense. You know, I I like that feeling. >> There's a modesty to it, >> but at the same time, not a modesty to it. You know what I mean? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. This is nice. like it's it's simple [music] >> in terms of it doesn't use like really dynamic lighting or really dynamic styles of like you know the way that the layout is or anything. [music] >> So this is the master. I mean I like it. It's the bedroom feels comfortable. Like I'm [music] not looking at the carpet or like the the type of flooring and stuff like that. I'm just looking at the layout of the home and how big the rooms are and stuff like that >> because all of that can be changed. >> Okay, we can go down here. Oh, this is nice. >> I like these types [music] of things. I love these things. Okay, laundry room. They must They need a laundry room on the downstairs. You got to go up all these [music] steps. bedroom. >> I like this size. This is a [music] good size for a bedroom. Feels like the right size. >> Yeah, they got on suite bathtub. I wonder if they renovated this. No, it doesn't look like it. Looks like they just kept good care of it. Everything's mo very nice. Very well taken [music] care of at least. In a closet, nice size. So, how many bedrooms have we seen so far? >> I think that was >> This is a bedroom. >> No, it's not though. >> The office for the bedroom. >> Like a gym or something. I don't know. >> Oh, yeah. Like a gym. >> Yeah. I guess this is supposed to be maybe this the next bedroom or something. Oh, look. Oh my gosh. What a great view. Wow. So pretty. >> Well, this could be a shared kids room and this could be like their their where they keep their desk and their toys in their playroom and they can just have their beds in here. I saw this on a on a on a video in a house on YouTube. Like they had this type of setup >> like I've seen this type of setup in like a hotel >> where they had like a like a kind of like a loungey type of the side on this side >> with like a couch where you can play like video games. >> Yeah. I mean that's a really nice room. >> The bathroom is about the same in every single room. >> Okay. So >> I don't know. I haven't seen a basement. Wow. It's a whole new house. Like the ceiling though is huge for a basement. >> Yeah, it's really high up. This is a really big room. >> This is kind of This is >> Yeah, it is underground. You feel how cold it is? >> Yeah. >> H This could be our gymnastics room. >> Yeah, it could. Or extra bedroom. >> Oh, these are the extra bedrooms. Okay. This is a movie room. >> What do you think? >> You get a lot of room for 5,000 720. >> A large home. No backyard, which makes sense because you're accessing the community. >> Yeah. >> I wonder what the um HOA is. I mean, you get a big house. The basement is really cool looking. >> Yeah. I mean, it's huge, >> but you don't get no outdoor space. So, all right. We're going to go see house number two. >> Like, you would not suspect this to be that big. >> No, you would. >> Because there's essentially like a hole in the ground. Yeah. >> That opens up into a whole basement. >> See that right there? So, we're looking at this house right here. I believe this is another 5,000 square foot home. It's on a main street. >> Weird. >> Are they actually open today? But it looks like it's only one floor. >> Very, very >> Oh, that's the ADU out there. >> Okay. Well, should we start walking? Yeah, I think so. Okay. Very modest. Okay. Nice size bedroom. It's got a on suite. >> This house feels very cozy. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. I don't know. I mean, it's kind of charming in a grandparents kind of way. >> Yeah. >> Nice closets. >> Nice. Another bedroom. See, this is what we have. Tons of stuff. They dig all their stuff out, but nice size things. >> Maybe they're looking for a bigger house. >> Sheesh. >> Wow. Wow. >> It's different. >> Double sinks. >> Looks like they tried to do it themselves or something. I mean, it looks like they installed everything separately. Yes, I am. Let's try one. Okay, let's add another one. >> Yeah. >> Okay. What is this? This is interesting. Oh, this is nice. Kids room. I don't know. The low ceilings. >> Yeah. >> Let's see what the closets look like. Oh, the closet is nice. They have built-ins everywhere. It seems like it's a whole another space in here. Is this the master? >> This is Oh, this is the master. >> Yeah, this is the master. >> Oh, it has a pool. >> Nice. Okay, let's see. This is down. Oh, this is cool. It's got almost makes you look like it's a mirror. Mirror. >> Yeah, >> this is nice. Got a closet space. Oh, I love this. The shower with the toilet with the um tub inside. That's cool. >> Yeah, this is nice. The backyard is Oh, they have a jacuzzi. Oh, the backyard is gorgeous, though. That's not enough stuff for my stuff. And then this is the female closet. I mean, at least there's But you can see now that they have all their stuff in here. You can see like how your closet would look if you actually utilized it and put stuff in here. >> Yeah, >> you can see uh it might not fit. It may fit all your stuff. You may need an extra linen closet for your towels that they have right here. The jacuzzi is right over there. You see it? >> Yeah. >> So, you can get to it from your master bedroom without walking through the rest. This feels like its own private wing. It really does. >> Yeah. >> I would be happy in this room. [laughter] Access to outside in the pool. The pool is big. >> Okay. >> Dining room. kitchen. >> This is nice. >> How old is this house, by the way? >> 76. 1976. It's 50 years old. [snorts] >> Yeah. Panels were put in in 201. >> Okay. Dining room. >> It's nice. They got a really big >> thing. They have a bookshelf >> right here in this room. This >> is really cool. >> They have a office and somewhere to walk a Murphy bed. >> Really lovely. >> And then these doors right here shut the little office with the curtain. But I really love the bookshelf. So, I am now in the backyard and this is really making me want land over house size. It's so beautiful. They've got avocado trees. They've got just a beautiful space and beautiful views from out here. You can see the You see these beautiful trees out here. Joe's out there talking to the agent. Got little sitting areas. It's just so beautiful. Look up there. You can see even though the house is kind of old, it this just tops it off. This is the entrance to the ADU right here. You have this pool area right here. I don't know how that works. I'm not going to go that way. There's a pool diving board. That slight little waterfall thing right there makes it like feel like an oasis. Just that little tiny where we just sit in the pool. >> I guess >> this is the ADU. >> This is so nice. >> Okay, so I feel like when we got back from Costco, we really didn't have a lot of stuff, so I snuck in a little trip to Trader Joe's, too. So, we do have some stuff from Trader Joe's here, but we have all-time favorite Dino nuggets. Then, we have the organic maple chicken patties. These should be good. These are already cooked. So, all the kids have just heat them up like in a microwave or the air fryer, which we don't have. We got the Z bars, the trail mix, the chewy protein bars, all the good bars. These are for me so I can lose these extra pounds. Okay, we got the nut bars, the veggie straws. My kids really love veggie straws. I just got them last week and I realized they really really love them. So I wanted to stock them that. And of course we got the chops. [screaming] This is my all favorite new like addicted thing. I'm addicted to it and Joe's addicted to it too. >> Yeah, the grapefruit. [music] Right. >> Yeah, the grapefruit. And then this is the passion fruit with 2/3 of an orange and one and a half guavas. Yeah, I like that one. I like the mango orange and I like the grapefruit. Yum. And they actually have real fruit squeezed into them. That's why I like it. It's not like flavored. It's actually just a actual grapefruit [music] squeezed in there. So, now we got the mixed veggies. We love to use this to make mixed vegetables and sausages. Joe got these new vegetables. What do these have in it? >> Um, I don't know. It was It was colorful. So, >> yeah. We got the crust off, the big knockoffs to the uh Crustables. We got your organic strawberries. I got these. This is new. These are little snap packs with [music] salami and proolone and cheese in them. >> Okay. >> Yeah. This will be so good for my like weight loss, too. Man, the kids should really love those. Uh, we got the, of course, we had to get the trail mix individual packets. I tried a whole bunch of different soups. So, one of the soups that I wanted to try is this Thai style coconut chicken soup. >> Yeah, those are pretty good. >> Yeah. You've had these before? >> Yeah. >> Really? I've never had them. So, maybe you can cook that for me tonight. This is my go-to thing for the kids. Oatmeal. Okay. We got to get the oatmeal packets from Trader Joe's. I like the apple and cinnamon too much, but the kids like the brown sugar, but I don't like these cuz these are a little bit too sweet for me. I like more of a cinnamon spicy [music] taste. And then here are my super greens. This is going to be so good. I want this tonight. Oh, it's the steak we got tonight. Joe, of course, I had to get the Trader Joe's animal crackers right there. That's my all-time favorite. They're really addictive and they're really bad for me cuz that's the type of stuff I eat to game. Trader Joe's cookies. Then we got all your fruit senior veggies here. Here we got strawberries, grapes, blueberries, lots of avocados, oranges, bananas, these Caesar salad kits, which are the bomb. We got organic Fuji apples. And something that I've been craving, kiwis. Oh, since I got your own kiwi. >> Yes, I've been craving kiwi so bad. >> We got to stop by um let's stop by to get the fruit. >> Yeah, that's going to be our next video, guys. Shopping at the Korean bar. You know what I'm saying? And we got this huge bag of popcorn for only $4. So, that should be good. This is so much, Joe. >> Well, we're also restocking the reserve, too. So, that's why we got all this, too. >> Yeah. So, we got all the chicken, one, two, three packages of chicken thighs, and each one is about 8 lb. So, we have 24 lbs of chicken thighs. So, this comes in a six-ack, and we use like three. So, that will last 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 ms. >> Yeah. [music] And then same thing with the ground beef. We use three grounds of beef for one spaghetti. >> So that's 8 9 m 10 meals 11 ms 12 m. That's for the steak. And then right here, this will probably last 13 14 15 16 17 18 meals with meat in them right there. Okay, that was over like I don't know. >> Yeah, about a month so far. >> Well, that was 18 days. That wasn't a month. But some days we don't eat full out meat. So, we can have like sausages, which is cheaper, or we can just do something vegan or vegetarian or not vegan, something vegetarian in style. >> Okay, over here we have my kids. Love, love, love, love. I didn't get enough of these. I should have got like at least six more packages. The manor and orange chicken from Trader Joe's. If they're hungry, they can just pop this in, you know, the um air fryer and cook that up for themsel. Um woo. >> Oh, what's that? >> The mango cream bars from Trader Joe's. Um, and then we have all of our cheetahs and our meats over here, like our cheetah discus and like dried meat. So, I got the salami. I got the Korean barbecue pork jerky. I got the aged cheese. Um, we got some spaghetti to last us for a little bit. I really didn't get enough of that. I just grabbed some so that if you could cook some spaghetti, you could, but that is not enough. That will last like for two spaghettis. I got lots of cheese. My kids love cheese, so I got lots of little cheese they can eat. >> And then these are really good. These are from Trader Joe's. These are pizzas. I only got four cuz I didn't have I didn't have I was by myself and there wasn't enough room in my car. But I like to get like 10 of these. And we just anytime we don't feel like cooking, we get this cuz it has veget. It's filled with vegetables. See, it's got roasted peppers and roasted onions on there and pepperonis. So, it's great. The kids, they don't even know that they're using vegetables. Nobody has ever recognized that these are vegetables on this pizza yet. [laughter] Nobody. They just think it's pepperoni pizza. [gasps] Another one of my favorite things is the Omega Track mix from Trader Joe's. And these are great for weight loss for me because they're only 170 calories. So, this is going into my room and in my stash. Um, I got the A2 A2 milk because I am lactose intolerant and this helps you. This doesn't have lactose in it or something. I don't know if that it's not that it doesn't have lactose in it, it's that it it's safe for lactose intolerant people. >> It's better for people who have sensitive stomachs. >> Yeah, exactly. >> Um, Joe, do you want to do the end? These are really great for their lunches. These are like little kind of like yogurt, little squeezable yogurts. >> Yeah, we freeze them. >> Um, okay. More of these. These are really great for I mean a lot of things, but I like to roast these for dinner. >> Yeah. How many packets do we usually go through for dinner? >> Honestly, like two. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Some more cheeses, some more meats and stuff. >> Those are meats. I wanted to try that. >> So, I mean, these would be good for date nights or for the kids um kids snack. >> Yeah. I also got salami for them over there. So, like if they didn't, you know, >> I don't know why you got these for I guess for sandwiches. Okay. >> Sandwiches. [snorts] More little finger fruit snacks for cheese and meat. >> Um, more cheese. Wow. I didn't know you got this much cheese. >> Yeah. >> Fruit punch for their snacks. >> Yeah. Well, cheese last so long in the refrigerator. So, yeah. >> Okay. So, kombucha for you, I'm assuming. >> Yes. >> You got the kombucha. >> I don't want anyone touching that, too, cuz I bought six kombuchas and I only got to drink one. >> Mhm. I'm seeing them all over the house. Yeah. Let me ask you this. Why do kids like my the most nastiest stuff that I get? >> It's not >> like it's kombucha. No. No. What? What kids like kombucha? >> It's like ginger, sour, everything. Like anything that I start to like. Oh, now they want it. >> It's like It's like vinegar and tea. >> Why do you like the entree? >> Cuz it tastes like lemonade. >> Okay. So, now we know who who who stole my um >> Oh, yeah. >> Yeah. Kombucha. Yeah. Because one of them is lemonade. >> Mhm. >> Okay. You going to owe me a dollar for that money you about to get. >> So, we just got a couple I mean, we didn't even do this haul yet. We didn't do the um home essentials, but like we got just a little bit of soap, got a little bit of backup um toothpaste >> and a little bit I mean I mean this is a decent amount of sponges, but we use these for like lots of other things. >> See, I didn't want them to get you to get too many cuz what happens is people just start taking them all out with no sense of, you know, conserving them. So, I think that 20 at a time is fine. >> So, what are these? >> Those are coconut lentil soup and like a wild chicken. That's really going to help me, Joe. In the middle of the daytime when I'm hungry, I don't know what to eat. So, I don't have to snack on just these kids sweet stuff. And then we got the mandu. >> I saw somebody getting that and they said it was good. So, I copied them when I was in Costco. How many of y'all do that? Y'all do that. You do that. You see someone get something. How good. >> Honestly, I don't know about these just because if you go to HMart, they have a whole aisle. Like >> it goes from one end to the other both sides. >> Compare the prices. So >> I mean you have to have a balance between price and flavor, right? >> So which side do you usually side on? Price. >> Uh price all the time. >> I just have to wait till when I get the good flavor depending on the price. >> Uh-huh. So it just depends. >> Yeah. I just have to eat whatever's available. So >> Okay. So Elena told me that she spent $290 at Trader Joe's. So that brings the total to ding. It is the next day and we are not finished our restocking for the year. I realized that we definitely didn't have enough stuff. So what did I do? Of course I spent all morning doing another Costco order. And I also had to do a Bonds order, but our Costco stuff came. So how I restock for our family is I have this Google Drive doc with everything that we need for our household listed on it. Right when I got into this house, me and a friend of mine helped me to make an inventory of everything we needed. So, soaps, dishwashing detergent, toothpaste, hair stuff, cleaning products, everything we need, we itemized it and listed it down and put about how much that I need to keep stocked for the year. And so, I can refer back to that whenever I'm doing my shopping. I also made my own grocery like all time grocery list. So, I have every single item that I would need on my grocery list and how much I need of it at any given point or when I'm trying to restock. So, like I have noodles, tomato paste, mayonnaise, mustard. Anyway, I just used that Google doc. I just went right through it all this morning, looked at everything. I looked inside of my pantry to see what I needed and I just went right on down that Google sheet and I was able to easily just pick out everything we need. I just put an X. Okay, we don't have this. We don't have that. And I just added that stuff to the Costco cart. And this is what we got >> right here. Okay, butter. You ready to take our Costco order in? >> Yes. >> Yes. We got a bunch more stuff that we didn't have like milk, eggs, go-go squeezes. We didn't have any rice left. Yes. Tell me why I bought two packets of strawberries yesterday. There are no strawberries, nor there are any grapes today. So, I had to reorder strawberries and grapes from Costco. They went that fast, bro. >> They might as well come daily. I Why don't Why Why can't we have that? >> Uh cuz we don't have a farm. >> That's what we need, Joe. A farm >> or just a neighbor that has >> Yeah, a neighbor that a neighbor that uh sells like strawberries next door and so I can just walk over there every single day. It's like literally impossible. >> Strawberries. >> We have strawberries. Good. So, we brought some of the stuff in. Kids, >> hello children. Hey, [screaming] >> we don't have no more Max only. >> We don't. >> What is that? >> My papers. >> Read it. What does it say? >> Need a trusted late night babysitter. I'm a 16-year-old babysitter with extensive >> experience. Extensive means >> caring for eight younger siblings ranging from newborns to teens. experiences include in home babysitting. Light chat wrote all this for me. >> Light girl. No, you didn't. CHAT DID NOT WRITE THAT. You wrote that. >> I wrote this. Light meal prep and snacks, homework, help, infant care, fun activities, and playtime. >> What? You cannot help with homework. I can. I literally asked you to help me with adding fractions and you said you forgot how to [laughter] >> just means that she doesn't fractions at first. You have to multiply them to make them the same denominator. >> Yes. >> Yes. And then you add them charging. I'm charging $16 an hour for one child plus. >> I know cuz I read it, >> right? I'm thinking I'm going to put it on doors. Ma said I should just hand it to people who are walking around with dogs and kids and whatnot. >> Or you can do what? You can third option is the >> third option is >> the playground. >> The playground. >> Also churches. Also, mom's not in any Facebook market mom groups. Unsocial. Sorry. >> Yeah. I let people know who I know, though. I'll let someone know. Look at everything I got. We got Raman. We got Capri Suns. We got GoGo Squeeze. We got Mac and Cheese. >> Girls, take it all the food. Okay. You got these robots. >> Oh, you're using the timer I bought you, Joe. >> Yep. Using the timer. >> It's not on. >> Does it work well? >> I didn't start it yet. >> Does it work well to do? >> Yeah. I don't need to use my phone anymore. >> Oh, cool. So, you love it. >> Yeah, it's useful. >> Okay, we're gathering all of our next things >> to do the tour. >> Okay, guys. So, we got we got ice cream, Johnny Pops, and fudge bars. We got strawberries whipped cream. That will taste good with our food, >> pancakes, peanut butter, jelly, tuna, all stuff. Good for sandwiches, >> you know. We got our dairy in there, our milk, our yogurts. We have oats tortilla. >> Yeah. >> To make quesadillas. >> Yeah. With that cheese. >> With the cheese over there. >> Of course, we have mac and cheese cuz who doesn't like mac and cheese? and our shame. >> Happiness and noodles. >> Then we have go-go squeezes. Uh whatever these things are like some healthyish more stuff. >> They're dried apples. >> Okay, do you want to say >> so's going to uh >> speedun it? >> Yeah, speedun it. >> Okay, hold [laughter] on. Hold on. Hold on. Wait. Wait. Let me just do this. Okay. >> Okay. Okay. Okay. We have Caprians, a variety pack of tomato, relish, and mustard. We got oat milk. These uh chips that are cheese chips. We got the cheddar cheese for the for the quesadillas. Some avocado chips. Those are kind of weird. We got go-go squeezes. We got the mac and cheese stuff. [laughter] >> We got noodles. We have elbows. There are different types of elbows. >> We got this. Oh, we have some Greek yogurt with a bunch of different flavors. We have more oatmeal, more peanut butter, and we have whole milk. And then we have what is this called? Granola. This is peppers, popcorn. We have some bean rice and cheese burritos. Tasty. Some more grapes cuz we ate pretty much all of them. $22 cheese. >> They said it was the best on yellow. They said, "What's the best thing to get to Costco?" And they said parmesano rachiano aged over months of block. Not the one that was already shredded. >> $22. >> Yep. >> Okay. And then we have some weird grassfed butter. [laughter] >> We're doing ASMR grape. >> If you do it next to this thing, will it hear it? >> I don't think I [laughter] can hear it. >> [snorts] >> I think you can hear it. >> We have bacon and mayo and brown sauce and marinara sauce and eggs and ginger. Got the minority stuff on it. We got pepperoni and cheese. >> You haven't even opened it. >> And pepperoni and cheese. [laughter] >> Good Butters, you're so smart. >> Yeah. How about all of these? Hey, stop stealing grapes. I didn't even get any from yesterday. You guys ate them all and ALL THE STRAWBERRIES >> AND ALL THE CHERRIES. >> NO, we didn't. >> Mommy, you said stop eating the grapes. Now you're eating them. >> Yeah, because I didn't even get to have any yesterday. >> Yeah, >> y'all ate them all. >> Yay. >> In one day. >> Mhm. In one day. Uhhuh.
