Analysis Summary
Performed authenticity
The deliberate construction of "realness" — confessional tone, casual filming, strategic vulnerability — designed to lower your guard. When someone appears unpolished and honest, you evaluate their claims less critically. The spontaneity is rehearsed.
Goffman's dramaturgy (1959); Audrezet et al. (2020) on performed authenticity
Worth Noting
Positive elements
- This video provides a concise summary of current hardware supply chain tensions and their potential impact on consumer gaming hardware.
Be Aware
Cautionary elements
- The use of satire and 'parody' allows the creator to make specific, potentially speculative claims about industry contracts and release dates without the burden of journalistic proof.

Oh, RAM. Does anyone have any RAM? I just need one or two GB, please. Oh, hi there. I'm Sam Tucker, and welcome to the apocalyptic world of 2026, where everyone is fighting over that most precious of resources, toilet paper. Sorry, that was last apocalypse. This time, it's [music] RAM. Yes, with AI companies eating up all the RAM and other computer components in the world, it's led to shortages and high prices for everyone else who has to beg for that sweet, sweet taste of random access memory. And so today, I thought we would memorialize the RAM shortages most recent victims. First is that Western Digital is out of hard drives. Believe it or not, that's right. One of the largest hard drive manufacturers in the world has sold all of their storage capacity for 2026 already. And it's only February, and most of their demand is from a handful of enterprise customers, including the AI bastards. See, RAM shortages made SSDs more expensive because of all the memory parts in them, which therefore made hard drives more expensive cuz people couldn't afford the SSDs. And now all the big companies are just buying all the hard drives being made anyway for their big data centers. And it won't be getting better anytime soon as Western Digital already has contracts with these companies leading into 2027 and 2028. So, I guess we better make use of the storage we already have. Who knows how to zip? Please, someone give me 50 bucks to sacrifice terra Winra. Our second victim for today is the Valve Steam Deck. Yes, after Valve stopped selling their cheaper LCD Steam Deck model last year, now they've sold out of their more expensive OLED model because of the shortage of RAM to put in them. Oh, is that what they're saying? Well, I'm sorry, but I wasn't born yesterday. I was born a few days before that, and so I was able to get myself a birthday present and got one before they sold out. So, thanks, Mom and Dad. I guess good timing. How will the RAM shortage affect the upcoming Steam machine? Well, since they've told us everything but the price and release date, I'm guessing it affects it greatly. Speaking of sad console news, finally Sony may be delaying the release of the PlayStation 6 all the way to 2029. But don't they realize we'll all be dead by then? Can't believe we're going to get GTA 6 before PlayStation 6. Nothing's before GTA 6. Oh, well, since we're all going to be playing on older hardware, hopefully game makers will optimize their games to play on pricey potatoes like the Nintendo Switch 2 that's also rumored to get a price bump or two or three. Stop, Mario. The ongoing RAM apocalypse of 2026. It would be a full apocalypse, but luckily there's not enough RAM for the nukes. >> Subscribe today. >> Hey everyone, thanks for watching the video. So, have you been affected by the RAM apocalypse? At least Apple won't be affected cuz they knew to raise their RAM prices decades ago. Tell you what you don't need RAM for. That's for clicking the like and subscribe button. Although the tab probably needs a little bit of RAM, especially if it's in Chrome. Oh, don't mention crime.
