Hello guys, Chris here. Welcome back to another video. In this one, my friends, I'm going to be testing a GeForce RTX 3060 12 GB model in Resident Evil Recum. This one is the AOX model of the card. I'm running it with the latest Nvidia drivers, and I'm not manually overclocking it. You can see all of its specs here in Tech Powerups GPUZ. And over on the left, I'm pairing it with the i5 12600 KF overclocked to 5.1 GHz and 32 GB of RAM. Let's get into it, shall we? By the way, this is the continuation of the playthrough that I started with the 1080 Ti. I'll leave a link down below to the playlist if you're interested in checking that out first. Now, let's go over the settings. I'm starting at 1080p resolution using path tracing because, well, we can enable it with the 30. Not that you should, but let's try it out. All right. And down here I'm using the high settings, high texture quality because we have 12 gigabytes of VRAM, you know, DAA right now. So it's 100% resolution scale with DLSS4 and the high lighting and shadow quality settings as well, which has the shadow quality set to high because on maximum is just way too demanding on VRAM as you can see. But setting that to high, it's absolutely fine. And let's try this out now. Since this is Oh my god. Since this is a playthrough, guys, I will not be testing like the most intensive area and stuff like that. I hope that we get to an area that's more intensive than this one because this one is pretty easy to run actually. We saw that with a GTX 1660. I tested it in an intensive area. And then over here and over here, we were getting like what, twice the performance or something like that. Uh but anyways, let's keep on going. Here we got a lighter. Nice. Okay. What can I do with a lighter? Well, light it up, I guess. Yes. There we go. Beautiful. Now, what's not beautiful is, of course, our frame rate. Even though this isn't What the hell was that? Oh my god. Oh my god. Okay, the game might be a bit too loud for me, but that's great, right? What am I seeing there? Oh, what's in the corner? What the heck? Okay. Yeah. So, uh, I guess a monster just broke through the ceiling there. I don't know. Uh, all right. What can I do here? Uh, nothing. I can't really get the fuse, but I guess we need that fuse, right? Anyway, it makes it even scarier at 17 frames per second. So, let's not play at 17 frames per second, right? Let's try and adjust a few things here. Starting with DLSS. Also, we can't use frame generation here, by the way. Not that it would be a good idea honestly over 17 fps, but it's grayed out. Let's do quality DLSS right now. This is 720p resolution being upscaled to 1080p. Wow, beautiful path traced reflections with the GTX 1080 Ti. We didn't see any reflections whatsoever over here. Okay. And those are actually really high quality. All right, start counting our FPS. We can now play with 30ish frames per second apparently. So, it's a playable experience here, but not everywhere in the game, of course, because there are way more intensive scenes. Uh, but yeah, we're playing with Grace here. Hopefully, a little bit later, we're going to play with Leon, and it's going to be more intensive again. Uh, let's go. Okay, so I've been here. Yes, I got a key in the last video, which was with a 1660. I played just a little bit through the story there with that GPU. I just got the key basically, and that was it. and save the game there. Uh, the key opened this door. So, uh, I guess we need to go in that direction now. And I'm not looking forward to this. This is way too dark, guys. What is this shadow ghost? Oh, yeah. That's very comforting, isn't it? Turn page. Let's go. Let's turn it. All right. Have you seen the shadow ghost hiding in the dark? H, I have not, but I have heard him, actually. Have you seen the shadow ghost staying from the light? Oh, so it doesn't like light. Have you se Oh my gosh, those are creepy eyes. She's been watching you. Okay. Oh boy. All right, we need to stay in the light. And that's it. No more pages here. Stay in the light. So, let's not stay here, right? Oh, boy. Okay. Wait a second. But maybe we're supposed to to check out something here actually, aside from that. Let's see. Yeah, it's okay, Grace. It's okay. No need to breathe like that. Okay. All right. A little drawing here. Beautiful. Wait. Are those kids inside of the mouth of the shadow ghost? Maybe. I don't know. To staff, I have moved some items out of the closet. The screwdriver. Oh, screwdriver. Yes, that's what we need. Is now in the toolbox in a nurse's station. The sewing kit is in H. Right. So, we got to get this screwdriver. Oh my gosh, that was actually scary. This over here. It's fine, guys. Still doesn't work. All right, let's leave it on, actually. Maybe it will start working later. Okay, so where is the nursing station? Do I have a map? I don't think so. Oh, I do. Okay. I don't know where the nursing station is, though. Okay. Oh, empty bottle. Beautiful. All right, we can throw these things. Okay, so they they actually threw this empty bottle here. Like it was rolling at the start with the 1080 Ti. I picked it up. It's now here again. So that's weird. All right, I have a bad feeling. Oh my god. Okay, it's just dead guy here. Yes, just a dead guy. Everything is okay. 31 30 H starting to not be too okay actually. Uh it's starting to become a bit bad actually. 1% lows dropped to 29 frames per second. Yep, it's now dropping. Okay, so that is that is very bad. Still kind of unplayable here, especially in other scenes. Oh my god. All right boy. Um, yes. I Oh, this is a very nice teeth. You have a beautiful smile, young lady. Yeah. Nice breathing as well. Oh my god. Okay. No, it's okay. IT'S OKAY. MY GOD. YEAH. LET'S GET OUT OF HERE. LET'S GET OUT OF HERE. THAT'S HUGE. HOLY CRAP. OKAY. Towards the light. TOWARDS THE LIGHT. LET'S GO. LET'S GO. There was a button to look back. Oh my god. Yes. Oh, that is that is SO SCARY. OKAY. OKAY. OKAY. OKAY. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. OH. OH, thank God. Okay. Yes. The light. The light is a savior. Where is she going? Where? Okay. Okay. Um, so it's a bit too dark over here. Uh, >> what was that thing? >> Yeah, that that's the shadow ghost Grace. Uh, we need to be very careful about it because that's terrible. Like, who designed that crap? All right, that guy over there, I think. Another one over here as well. Med injector. Oh no. Are we going to get hit by the thing? Yeah, that's scary. Um, >> this looks important. >> Yeah, >> maybe. >> Okay, okay, okay, okay. The lighting here is phenomenal, by the way, with path racing. But we probably need to move on, guys. I need to manually save. Wait a second, guys, because I want to try it with rate tracing high. Path racing. Yeah, it drops from 30 fps even with quality DLSS at 1080p. I wouldn't go below quality really just for a sake of path tracing, you know. Actually, I can show you this area. Of course, this is the initial part of the game. So, I just need to select new game and show you this part. Yeah, it's 20 fps. Much more intensive than what we saw inside, right? So, path tracing is out of the question here with the 30 unless you want to enable it just for those scenes indoors, which uh h might not be a terrible idea since it looks so insane here. Like uh look at the difference there on the car actually. That is pretty huge in terms of lighting especially. But anyway, let's use rate tracing high this time around. Still might be a bit too much for the 4060 here. Actually, let's use DAA. And as you can see, now we're getting 30s in this scene with DA native 1080p resolution. Obviously, the lighting doesn't look as good as previously with path racing. It actually makes a huge difference. The reflections as well, they're super shimmery, you know, but that's because there's no ray reconstruction with rate tracing in this game right now. like they didn't enable it for some reason. Only with path tracing. Uh but yeah, see even in intensive areas like this one, it's okay now. It gets 30 plus. Is 30 plus what you're looking for with the 3060? I don't know. But now you know. Let's start counting the frames again, guys. Oh, this feels quite a lot smoother even though it's not 60 fps yet, but uh yeah, very nice indeed. 40s, 50s. VRAM is totally under control as well. Nice to have those 12 gigs here for peace of mind basically. Especially at 1080p doesn't really matter too much, but at 1440p it might. Still got some nice reflections here and accurate ones. Obviously little bit fuzzier again. That's fine. You know what I'm seeing? Previously, you actually saw a glow, a green glow on the door with path tracing and on this general area. And now it's not present anymore because of rate tracing instead of path tracing. So yeah, some things get lost a little bit here if you don't use path tracing. But that's okay, right? The game still looks very nice and atmospheric. Hopefully there's something here. Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god. I'm hearing something. Whoa. Where is she? Holy crap, dude. Okay, she's not here, right? She's not here. She was really close, though. Okay, what to do? There's a toolbox there. Yes. Need to step onto something. Uh, hold. Why? Oh gosh. Do I Do I really want to hold it? Okay. Okay. Please no jump scares. Please no jump scares. Please no jump scares. Okay, it's fine. It's fine, guys. Just to open this drawer, which has nothing on it. Okay, I guess this Yeah, we we're going to hold this. Okay, move it. Oh, hell no. >> Oh, no. This way. Not this way. Not this way. >> She can't come this way, right? Like I have nowhere to go damn it. Okay. Okay. She definitely heard that. Leave this. Leave this. Can I hide here? No. Okay. Green herb. This is safe now. I can breathe a little bit, guys. All right. Restore a small amount of health. Get away from me. I got to light her. OH, SHE'S RIGHT THERE. OH, SHE'S SO HUNGRY. OH MY GOD. NO. NO. NO. NO. NO. NO. NO. NO. NO. NO. NO. I'm stuck. I'm stuck. I'm stuck. Oh, what the heck? Okay. Okay. Okay. Unstuck yourself, Grace. UNL OH MY GOD. OH, I'M GOING TO DIE. OKAY. NO. I'm fine. I'm fine. I'm fine. I'm fine. I'm fine. I'm fine. I'm fine. Let's get out of here. Not through here. Oh my gosh. Got to get to the light. We got to get to the light. Holy crap. Does this count as light? I don't know, man. Probably not. Let's go there. Yes. Over there. GO. GREAT. OH MY GOD. What the heck am I supposed to do? Are there more lights? Oh, damn it. I'm messing up every Oh my god, dude. Stop. Stop. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go, Chris. We're fine. We're going to do this. We're going to do this. There's a light up ahead. Let's go. Fine. Yes. Yes. All right. All right, Grace. No one's going to die. All right. Oh, she's right there. What the heck am I supposed to do now? Come over here. Yeah. You see me? Yeah. I I got the light, you [ __ ] Get over here. Come towards the light. Come. Come. Oh yes. Oh my god. That's still so scary to Jesus. Grace screams as well. Jeez. So high quality. Okay. She she might be gone now. Yeah. Made another hole on the ceiling. All right. No problems. We We could probably We can probably get there again. Right. the other place. Hold this. Yes. Go here. All right. Get on top. Maybe. No. Yes. Okay. There we go. And now we can get that screwdriver. Right. Wait. There we go. Yes. That's so rusty. It's fine, though. It's fine. That's exactly what we needed. It's going to be okay, my friends. Now that we got the screwdriver, I I guess there's another jump scare just waiting to happen here. It's going to be okay. I'm going to survive through this, right? Just like the 30 is surviving through this. You know what? Maybe if I close my eyes, it's better, right? Yeah. Close my eyes. Oh my god. Ooh, it's scarier. It's even scarier with the eyes closed. Run, Grace. Run, Grace. Run. Oh, the Gosh, the noises of the monster. It give me the creeps, man. It gives me the creeps. All right. All right. All right. All right. We're good. We're good. We're good. You can't get to me. You, Dude, look at how ugly she is. Damn. Yeah, she's gone now. Just chilling. We got this. We got this. OH MY GOD. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Now you're starting to make me mad, dude. Like, I want to progress. I don't want to stay here forever. All right, go away. Come on. All right. So creepy, this game. Jesus. Was it because I was making noise or something? What if I crouch here? Probably not. I want to get there as fast as possible. We probably need to go over here. Oh. Oh my god. Jesus. She's there again, dude. Where can I hide? I don't know, dude. Still there. Okay, come over here. Come over here. Follow me. All right. All right. All right. We got We got I hope she's behind us and not in front of us. I don't I'm not I don't even care. I don't even care. I'm going. Yes, sir. Boy, I am the greatest. Grace is the gracest. The great Yes. Okay. No, we're here. We're here. We got this. Hell yeah. Oh my god. No. No. Okay. Night. It's okay. It's okay. Oh, I forgot about the empty bottles. We're just collecting all of these here, right? Uh, so there is no more light, guys. Freaking thunderstorm killed the light. This is so great. Oh. All right. We got the fuse at least, right? Nice little fuse here. Cut scene. It's okay. Yes. Yeah. Grace, maybe run the other Maybe run the other way. Maybe. Oh, okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. So, where was the fuse thing? Okay. Maybe here. Yes. Right there. Right there. It's right. I can see it. I can see it. Let's go. Let's go. Yes. >> Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. >> Yes. >> There we go. 30s, guys. Get burned. B. >> Are you just going to stay there? Are you serious? >> Oh, man. Okay. Go, Grace. Go, Grace. No. Just leave me alone. >> We're going to be okay, Grace. Leon's coming to save us. Maybe. I don't know. I hope. >> Maybe not. Just go do something. Oh my god. She's right behind us, dude. Don't cry, Grace. It's going TO BE OKAY. GRACE, WHAT IS GOING ON? Why did you just stand there? All right. Oh, 30 FPS. Damn. Outside. It's still very intensive. Of course, we actually started outside and we saw 30ish FPS. That's exactly what we're getting here. So, is this the house where we were? Oh, Leon, thank you. our god and savior. Let's go. I'm not scared when I'm playing as Leon, you know. It's just more like of an action game here. Hell yes. He's such a badass dude. Like he he just walks in not scared of anything or anyone. Obvious >> Mr. Kennedy. >> Hello. >> Welcome. Dr. Gideon has been expecting you. >> What? >> Funny. I don't remember getting an invitation. >> Well, he's waiting for you. >> What is going on? to have that, can't we? >> Is this in the past? Is Grace still around here? >> I'm not hearing her screams. >> So, how long have you worked for uh Dr. Gideon? >> Not long. >> I just recently joined the team. >> Okay. Well, it's just a door. That's how some doors work, Leon. You know, they have like this little thing that closes them >> therapies developed by Dr. Gideon >> therapies. Uhuh. Experimental therapies. Uh, wait guys, wait. Um, I want to try and make it a little bit better. We've played with DAA for a really long time already. And now we're going to do some quality DLSS here. And by the way, with path tracing, we couldn't enable frame generation or FSR frame generation here, which is what's available to the 30. But now with the rate tracing setting, we actually can. That's a bit weird. I don't know. But yeah, that's definitely the next thing that we should try. FG plus quality DLSS. Maybe even FG plus um DLA. But with 30 FPS baseline or like 1% lows or whatever, it's probably not going to be very good in terms of input lag. Leon's just going to the doctor. He has a doctor's appointment. Code six. Code six. All staff, initiate emergency protocols. >> Okay. Maybe they noticed the ghost thingy, right? I don't know. >> Mr. Kennedy, we need to leave immediately. >> Yes. >> I don't know what's happening. Some kind of mass hysteria. The hospital is on lock down. >> Leon, say something or shoot the thing. I mean uh Oh, hell no. Okay, Leon, don't just stay there, please. What the hell? Why didn't you shoot, buddy? I >> think I want a second opinion. >> All right. Oh, no. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. All right. Oh, I hear some more of them, maybe. I don't know. Yes, yes, yes. They're right there. Okay, there we go. Oh, and there's the the the nurse. She's picking up the Oh my gosh, she's actually cutting herself. That is crazy, dude. Okay, I hear more of them. Uh uh. Can't really go this way. This is pretty scary, actually. I'm going to start coming our FPS. All right. Yeah, there's one here. Thought I heard something. That one's dead. Should I? All right, LET'S DO THIS. HELL YEAH. HELL YEAH. OH, come on. Yes, sir. Leon is in the house. Oh my 40ish FPS, by the way. Oh, boy. Damn. Okay. And it's broken, I guess. Can you look up, please? Thank you. Melee attack. Boom. There we go. I'm going to use this. There we go. Awesome stuff. Are there more? Yes. Goodbye, lady. So, playing with ra racing is possible, guys. As you can see, obviously, it's not super smooth. It's not ever going to be super smooth because it's very intensive. All right, that that's working somehow. I'm not sure that's how chainsaws work. I think that would just break itself, but Well, it did break after all. Never mind. Let's go. Uh, turn on the flashlight. Yes, sir. We don't have ammo on the revolver. >> Keep me posted. >> The recuum. >> Damn, those shadows and everything. It looks so good this game, dude. So atmospheric. >> Great. So Leon didn't do absolutely anything, right? He He just watched this whole thing happening and he didn't even think Let's shoot the thing. Okay. Okay. Finally. >> Hey, over here. >> Let's go. I thought I didn't have ammo on the racing or the revolver, but okay, NOW I DO. GREAT STUFF. OH, YES. GOD DAMN, LEON. JESUS. He's such a badass. Damn. >> It's fine, Grace. It's fine. >> You okay? >> You found your next husband. >> Leon Kennedy. DSO. >> CSO. >> Yeah, >> I'm Grace. Um, Ashccraftoft. FBI. >> FBI. What are you doing here? >> Someone kidnapped me. >> Victor Gideon. Yes. >> I don't know. >> Oh, she Yeah, of course she didn't know. >> Oh, come on. Oh, no. >> That bastard, bro. >> He's right there. >> Oh, no. That >> What does Victor want with you? >> It's going to be very dark. >> I um >> Grace, >> what do you mean? >> He grabbed you for a reason. Wait, you're you're DSO? That's the uh uh the the counter bioteterrorism agency, right? >> Take this. >> Oh, >> you sure? >> You might need it. >> I got another one, by the way. >> Go. >> Okay, so now we're fighting the Victor boy. Hello. >> She won't get away, you know. Why is Why is he so cold, man? All right. Why is he so ugly as well? I mean, come on. Oh, golden teeth. Beautiful. Fit you very well, buddy. >> So nice to finally >> If I didn't know your name, I would call you Bob for sure. >> Why don't we have a little talk? >> Why don't I shoot you in the face is what I'm asking right now. >> What? What was that, Leon? Too slow. >> Oh man. >> Okay. So, he is he like part robot or something like weird. >> I see you're exhibiting symptoms too. >> Umbrella's curse. >> Okay. So, I'm This is not good. This is definitely not good. Oh no. We're playing as Grace again. >> I'll be fine. Oh, I'll be scared. That's what I'll be now. Okay. Okay. >> I hope >> so. Another horror part is upon us, my friends. I think we got to rescue him. That's such a big pistol, dude. Look at that hand cannon there. Escape the care center. All right. All right. Um, should we try a little bit of frame genen, guys? Why not, right? It's FSRFG. It will have quite a bit of input lag, unfortunately, but should be playable. We're getting a decent baseline FPS of like 45 plus all of the time. I can definitely notice it though already. But it is a high refresher experience now. Now, what about the artifacting? I can tell there's a little bit of it actually, but it's not too distracting. Smoking is strictly prohibited. All right. Oh, we can save. Nice. All right, let's go down here, I guess. Cutscene time. Start counting the frames as well. All right, now this is a high refresh rate experience with rate racing, guys. It's actually not too bad. All right, that person. It's definitely not the scariest thing we've seen. Grace, hello. Say something maybe. I don't know. Is she lying or something? Oh, yeah, she is. >> Who's there? >> It's Grace. >> Is someone there? >> The hair is very similar. Or the haircut maybe. >> I'm sorry if I um surprised you. >> She my daughter or something. Kind of looks similar eyes. RA tracing there. By the way, >> you can't see, can you? >> Who are you? >> Was there someone in the other cell? >> Oh, there's a hole there. >> Why are you in there? Everyone's gone >> except for you. WHAT? >> GET AWAY FROM ME. >> Are you all right? >> No, he's not all right. Maybe shoot him in the face. >> Get away. >> No. No. >> I'm not sure if he's bad or or good. Uh he's probably about to turn grayish, so we might want to just all right. business card. Oh, no. That's the other card that I need. Maybe. >> Yes, I guess so. All right. So, we got the card now. Where was the other place? Maybe right there. West Wing. Yes, it does work here. Right. Got a flashlight as well. Shadows in the lighting. So good. Okay. What is this? Some kind of lock that we need to open for sure. Maybe in the next episode. I don't know, man. But oh, we still got plenty of stuff to do. I'm taking a real long time. Oh my god. Okay. Okay. Maybe turn off the flashlight. Okay, that that's a big boy right there. Not sure if he's going to die very fast here with this revolver thingy. I hope so. No, do not. The auto aim keeps aiming at his torso. I want to aim at his head. >> Boom. I got one bullet. I had one bullet. Oh, okay. Um, I didn't notice I only had one bullet. Also, I've gotten used to the um input lag of frame generation and now it's absolutely fine. I don't even feel it anymore. I'm just playing the game. High refresh rate. It's good. Pretty good right now. Okay, buddy. It's okay. It's okay, buddy. It's okay. Should we hold this? Okay. No. No. No. No. That was a bad idea. All right. Uh, this is a bad idea. This is all a really bad idea. But he's really slow. So, we might be able to play around his slowness. Come on. I'm also very slow clicking buttons and stuff. Oh, man. That could you be even slower, Grace? Uh, well, I don't know what's wrong with him, but I'm good. Somehow I'm good. Yes. What the hell is he doing? Is he sniffing my hair or something? That's so weird. But hey, it's working. He's right there. He just He's so confused. Okay, let's go. Get out of here. All right. Oh, boy. >> Oh. Oh, I can kill that one with the light, I guess. Maybe this one as well. >> Uh, no, this one. Not really. Okay. Knife. Yes. Okay, let's go. Let's go. All right, we got this. She dead. We're fine. I can still kill like five more. Oh man, that's disgusting. Very nice looking flushes, dude. Here. Oh man, that's awesome. Flush this one. What to do? Just flushing toilets and I'm amazed at it as well for some reason. Okay, there we go. Grace is strong as heck now. Hell yes. Die, die, die, die. I said die. All right. Anyway, this can definitely be playable with RT and good quality. Still quality DLSS is noticeably softer than native, but I don't really mind it here with the 3060, honestly. And if you want to use DA with FG on top, well, uh, yeah, that's that's pretty bad actually. I can see a bit of ghosting here. And 60 fps with FG means that without FG, we'd be getting 30s. And the input lag here is pretty annoying. Also, the HUD objects or icons are moving at like 20 FPS. So, that that just looks very bad. Let's go back to quality DLSS here. Oh my god. What the heck? There's a gun there. Uh, not Leon's gun. Thankfully, no ammo. Why would I want to switch? Oh, wait. >> No bullets. >> Yeah, I I know. I just saw it in the HUD. What the hell is this place? >> Okay. Oh, >> damn it. Right. That's not good. Guess there's going to be handgun ammo here. Yes. Conveniently placed. There we go. Beautiful. Now, should we use the handgun ammo? Because I can actually kill these guys just with some knives. Oh boy. Maybe not. Oh boy. Oh boy. Come on. All right. Can I grab the knife again, please? Like that's still usable. Yes, I can. Thank you. All right. They thought of everything. I like it, guys. This is not a good idea, but we need to move here. So, just keep singing, lady. Keep singing and be happy. Yes. Oh, man. This is so creepy, actually. All right. It's fine. It's okay. We got this, right? Yes, sir. All good. Corridors. Corridors. Corridors. Hello. I don't even care about you. Unlock the door. Okay. Good. Good. Good. Good. Yes. Okay, game is saved, my friends. The game is saved. We did it. Okay, guys. I'm now trying the rate racing on normal. I think though that we will keep playing through the game in another video. All right, testing another GPU. And right now, I just want to uh hit a new game here and check out the more intensive area with some different settings and resolutions. Now, the issue that I have here with the rate tracing on normal instead of high, we're getting like 10 more FPS, which is very good, but the reflections, look at how low quality they are here. And that makes the rain on the ground as well, and everything look pretty fuzzy. So, I don't like the normal rate tracing too much. Yeah, the LOD on the reflection is also really bad. So, I don't think I would utilize normal RT with the 3060, but you get around 10 more FPS than with high RT. But if you want to use rate tracing, set it to high. Uh, play with quality DLSS, which still looks pretty decent in my opinion, and some frame generation at the same time for a higher refresh rate experience, and that's the way to go. Now, I'm also going to try it now without rate tracing altogether. So, let's turn that off. DLSS set to DAA, no frame generation. So, the water on the ground still looks a little bit meh. We're getting a few more FPS once again, like 15 more frames. So, now it's a 60 FPS experience without RT. Still on the high settings, by the way. All right. So, we still got a lot of stuff almost maxed out or even maxed out. But now, we don't have that beautiful lighting coming from the car, for example. That still looks good, actually. Not going to lie. I thought it was going to look way worse. It just disappears here for some reason. Um, but yeah, over here we have zero reflections or well those. And yeah, overall it doesn't look as good obviously as with YT enabled, but the atmosphere is still here, right? Like I think it still looks pretty good for what it is. And now a 3060 can run the game almost maxed out except for RT with 60 FPS. So here you don't even need to utilize upscaling. You don't even need to utilize frame generation. But if you want to, let's try a little bit of quality the LSS. You will go from 62 to 81. Obviously rendering a 720p image, but it's the LSS4. It still looks okay. A little bit softer though, but much smoother experience by the way. And there's also the option of utilizing frame generation of course on top of this. And this brings us up into the 130s, 140s in an intensive area. Once again, 120s as well. So, this is a proper high refresh rate experience now with pretty low input latency because the baseline FPS were around 80. You could also use FSR FG on top of the LAA here. And this gives us around 90ish FPS in intensive scenarios, 100 plus sometimes. And obviously indoors, you're going to get more FPS, lower input latencies as well. But this feels okay. It's just the input lag. You can definitely notice it. I think some people might be put off by that. I wouldn't really have a problem playing without RT honestly, but it adds quite a bit to the overall experience and it is possible to play with that at 1080p as we saw here today. Now, many people with the RTX 3060 these days are playing at 1080p resolution. But what about 1440p? Let's try that out. 2560x440 here, not utilizing the LSS or upscaling here. It's just the LA, so it's still 100% resolution scale. Same settings everywhere else. >> High basically. And uh it actually looks pretty damn good. Very clean here at 1440p resolution. That's a major resolution bump over 1080p as usual. Much sharper image here. Looking great. And the 40 plus FPS that we're getting here means that it won't really drop from 40 FPS during your entire playthrough with the 3060. And in a game like this, I found that 40 plus FPS is fine. It's not amazing. Obviously, I would much rather have 60 plus all of the time and a smoother experience or even a higher refresh rate one, but this is playable. As we saw at the beginning of this video, I was playing with 30 FPS. I forgot about it because I was so freaking scared of the ghost thingy that it felt fine to me. I I I got used to it pretty quickly. Now, the LSS4 did look pretty good on quality at 1080p resolution and at 1440p, it will only look better because the internal resolution instead of being 720p, now it is 960p and upscaled to 1440. This looks better, I would say, than 1080p native resolution looked. So, you're gaining quite a bit of visual fidelity there. And you're also getting pretty similar FPS to native 1080p, right? I think so. Although still without rate tracing, I don't really recommend you to utilize rate tracing here at 1440p. But again, if you don't care about fancy reflections and accurate ones and fancy lighting sometimes, this still does look pretty good. It still looks like Resident Evil 9 uh or Recu whatever. It still has beautiful lighting. It's just not accurate lighting sometimes. Now, you can also enable FG on top of this, obviously. And now instead of getting 60s, we're up into the 100s. Smoother experience here. High refresh rate one, but obviously with that added input lag from FSRFG, which is instantly noticeable, but you can get used to it very quickly. And if you're playing with a controller, you might not even notice the input lag difference. Pretty good stuff, guys. 1440p still seems to be very playable with the 30 here in Resident Evil Recumm. Super nice to see that. I honestly thought it was going to be a worse experience, but hey, it is playable. So, if you have a 1440p monitor, go ahead. You can buy this game. You can enjoy it with your 3060s. And uh it's good to have 12 GB of VRAM as well because it's using around nine. Uh so yeah, if you have an 8 GB model of the 3060 or 40 68 GB for example, with these same settings, it would stutter. Now, where those 8 GB cards won't have a chance whatsoever is at 4K resolution. And I'm not even sure if this is going to play it well. Uh, let's do DAA first. All right. 12 gigs is still enough for these settings, by the way, as long as you don't use RT. 12 gigs is enough for 4K resolution, apparently. And maximum shadows as well. Don't use maximum shadows. It looks almost the same. Obviously, this is too much for this GPU. dude gets like 20ish frames per second, but it's better than path tracing was at 1080p already, right? That's how intensive path tracing really is. It It really is super super demanding of a technology and kind of reserved for super high-end GPUs like 5090s, 5080s, and so on. Now, with quality DLSS at 4K resolution, we're up into the 30s. This seems to be pretty playable now. You know, no stuttering. VRAM is enough as well. It looks super sharp. It looks basically the same as native 4K. Actually, it's DLSS 4 on quality that we're talking about after all. Image stability is really good here with DLSS quality. Yeah, pretty good stuff. And 30 plus frames per second here, which means that inside you'd be getting like 40s, 50s, possibly even 60s sometimes. So, it's still playable even with 4K resolution, my friends, or 4K graphics. It's not true 4K resolution, but uh yeah, it's DLSS4 with 4K, which looks very similar. And lastly, I'm just trying it out here at performance DLSS. 40ish frames per second is what we get at 4K resolution. It's now rendering 1080p and upscaling to 4K. It's still a little bit more intensive than 1080p native, of course, but it looks way better than 1080p native. It looks better than 1440p native at this point, actually. And we're getting 40ish frames per second. So, it's still going to be that 40 plus FPS experience all of the time, which is very playable in a Resident Evil game. And you know what the most impressive thing is? There is zero stuttering in this game. As you saw throughout the entire video, there was zero stutters, right? At least I didn't really notice any. So the game is super stable and that makes these lower frame rates 40s30s with G-Sync, you know, or VSYNC if you want to enable that um be and feel smooth, feel playable. If you want to use 4K resolution, I would probably not utilize frame generation on top of it or performance DLSS with frame generation. Now the input lag is really noticeable. It's smoother obviously 60 plus FPS here. But yeah, the input lag is way too high to the point where it bothers me and it would affect my gameplay experience. So I'd rather have those 40 frames per second without input lag and call it a day at 4K resolution with performance DLSS. So that's been it for this one, guys. Hope you enjoyed the episode and this last look at more different settings and resolutions at the end. Let me know what GPUs you'd like me to test in this series. Next one is likely 970 XT, 5090, or the 1650. I'm really curious to see how 4 GB of VRM will handle this on that 1650. So, I'm not sure if I'm going to test those higherend GPUs first, but yeah, you guys tell me in the comments down below what you prefer. I'm still going to test a bunch of GPUs here in this series. So, stay tuned in for that. As always, catch you in the next one. Love you all. Bye-bye.
