Analysis Summary

30% Minimal Influence
mildmoderatesevere

“Be aware that the 'honest' framing is a common rhetorical device used to build a parasocial bond and position the creator as a uniquely objective source compared to other influencers.”

Ask yourself: “Is this structured to help me understand something, or to keep me watching?”

Transparency Transparent
Primary technique

Performed authenticity

The deliberate construction of "realness" — confessional tone, casual filming, strategic vulnerability — designed to lower your guard. When someone appears unpolished and honest, you evaluate their claims less critically. The spontaneity is rehearsed.

Goffman's dramaturgy (1959); Audrezet et al. (2020) on performed authenticity

This GPT 5.4 model is quite a significant upgrade. I've been seeing a lot of videos saying that this is like the most insane best model ever. This is their first model that has native computer use capabilities. They improved their visual perception capabilities. Thinking is stronger at answering questions that require pulling together information from many sources on the web. You can see 5.4 on the left, 5.2 on the right here. And this spreadsheet looks a little bit more in-depth, a little bit better designed. We've got an example here of it actually using Gmail on somebody's behalf. You can see the little red circle on the scent box there. And it's actually going and starring the emails and adding labels to the emails on the user's behalf. Another demo here of bulk data entry. There's a whole bunch of JSON here on the right. And it's entering it all into the form on the left. It appears they've also got this RPG game example here. Overall, to me, this model feels like it was made more for the agents than anything else. Now, it is better at coding. If you want to use this new chat GPT model, it is available in plus, team, and pro plans. It's going to replace the GPT 5.2 thinking model. If I'm being totally honest here, I'll say the things that I feel like a lot of people probably aren't saying. For most people's day-to-day use, you're probably not going to notice much of a difference. The improvements we're seeing now are more improvements that coders are going to notice, researchers are going to notice, data scientists are going to notice. But like the everyday chat GBT user, it's going to be kind of marginal.

Video description

OpenAI just dropped GPT-5.4... but should you care? To be totally honest: If you use ChatGPT for brainstorming or basic questions, you probably won’t notice a huge difference. It’s a marginal upgrade for the average user. BUT, if you are a coder or power user, this is actually a big deal. It can: 💻 Navigate desktops better and use your mouse/keyboard to perform tasks. ⚡️ Perform coding tasks faster and smarter than 5.3 Codex. 🔎 Perform better web searches. 📂 Go up to a 1 million token context, which is a massive upgrade for API users. Have you tried it yet? Let me know in the comments. And for the full breakdown of this and all the biggest AI model releases and news from the past week, go check out my full video linked here. #openai #ai #chatgpt #ainews
