So today we are doing our humbok bows and we are going to get candy and money and we're going to eat delicious foods. He's talking. Yeah. >> Oh back with the kimchi. >> Yep. >> Oh my gosh. You got two things. Why'd you buy so much? >> We haven't boughten kimchi in a long time. >> I know. >> You like kimchi. You got to eat kimchi. The kids got to eat kimchi. >> Did you guys get it from the um that little small pot? >> The specialty shop. Yeah. >> Yeah. Yeah. M What do we have? The What's that one? >> Yeah, this is the one that my mom used to eat all the time that I think I like now. And then this one is the one that is always around. So, we need to eat more kimchi. The kids need to eat more kimchi. You need to eat more kimchi. It's good for you. >> I do. I do for my bow system to get this going on. >> Helps this helps this circulate. >> I know. Fermentation. So, today we are celebrating the What you talking about? What you talking about, girl? Little Korean girl, huh? Little Korean black girl. What you talking about? So, today we are celebrating the Korean New Year. How do you say it Joe? >> Solal >> solal. Is it like sol like so like Korean soul or is it like something else? >> Uh h I have to look at the >> solal. >> Am I saying right? So solal solal. >> You can work on that. >> So Joe already got the kimchi and we are preparing to have the whole Korean New Year's feast. Like we haven't done this in such a long time. >> Yeah. >> So basically Korean New Year is the Lunar New Year and it takes place usually in like February. Well, this year it took place in February and it's all about celebrating tradition and heritage and showing respect for elders and eating a whole bunch of really good food. I don't know. What did you guys do for the holiday when you were younger? >> Yeah, so we would wake up pretty early, get dressed up pretty nicely. Typically, we would go to like my grandparents house on my dad's side and then there would be family and relatives that would kind of congregate and come together. >> Mhm. >> The ladies would be cooking food and stuff like that. The guys would just kind of come together and watch whatever's on TV, I guess. Then we would have a moment where the elders would would sit on one side and then in like pairs or in generations from families, we would come out to greet and acknowledge the elders, give well wishes and say, you know, good luck and fortune and things like that. The elders would usually it's like always a monetary gift in like an envelope >> and bow, right? Didn't you guys see the bow? >> Right. I mean, yeah. In that that would be the bowing ceremony. >> I see. I see. So, we're going to try to mimic that for the kids this year. You guys, we have been doing a really bad job of like keeping up with the Korean culture side of things. Like, we took the kids out of Korean lessons for a couple of years. They don't forgot all their Korean, but we did put them back in. And Joe, he's been making a lot more African-American soul food at home. So, he ain't been cooking that Korean food. >> Yeah, I'm gonna try to make a lot more Korean food. Especially because Maya got me that. >> Yeah, she got me that book. Where is it? Yeah, you got a whole cookbook, Joe. >> Every little thing like these little things like even food, it impacts their culture. Like they forget just because of the food itself. But seriously, our kids are in a class with my sister and they were going to write a paper on heritage and they couldn't remember any of the Korean foods. I was like, "What in the world?" >> So, I got to cook it more frequently. >> I know. And we need to go back to Korea cuz like our little ones were so little and they're starting to forget. But this year is about to be different cuz we're going to celebrate the Korean New Year, try to bring them back into that culture. We're going to do the bows and everything like that. It's really not about the food itself though because it's really about honoring your family, your roots, knowing your traditions for your family. It's all within the family. >> So, it's just knowing where you came from and >> making sure they know they still Korean and black. >> Yeah. >> They've been confused on what their race is. >> Yeah. >> And this month is Black History Month. So, Black History Month and Korean New Year fall in the same month this year. >> So, that's special. So, we got to celebrate parts of Black History and Korean history all in the same month. That's really special. >> Yeah. We get to party together. >> You could come to the uh Black History Month party. >> Yeah. And you come to the bowing ceremonies. >> I know. >> Would you guys seriously keeping the kids black and Korean culture is so important? Not just the Korean culture, but also the black culture, too. Because like a lot of us don't have that full story because a lot of us here in the United States were descendants of the slave trade and we don't know exactly where our origins come. We can say West Africa, but we don't really know for sure. And just like our lineage in general, like a lot of people don't know who their great-grandparents, like you know who your great-grandparents are. I know who my great-grandparents are, but I don't know who my great greatgrandparents are. And a lot of uh black records historically were uh either lost, they were just not even accounted for, you know, in the census and stuff like that. So trying to like trace back our lineage and our heritage does it become kind of like a difficult task. So when we talk about passing down our heritage, we're not just talking about our food and our culture, black food, Korean, Korean food, Korean culture. It's also about knowing our ethnic roots and our family lineage. If you guys ever thought about going into a deep history of your family roots and your heritage, My Heritage is a great way to do that. And the sponsor of today's video, you guys know I took my DNA test about a year ago and I got my results that I'm 100% African. >> Exactly what I thought. and my DNA tests. I mean, it changed everything that I knew or what I thought I knew about my family. >> Yeah. It doesn't even say you're Korean, Joe. It says this guy is Chinese and Japanese. >> I don't know about that, Elena. >> Literally, Elena, it could have been >> No, it says Chinese. And taking a DNA test is simple. You just swap your cheek, box it up, mail it in, and it's done all in about 2 minutes. For a special limited time, DNA kits are only $29. >> Yeah, only $29. And >> not only that, super low price, but you're also going to get a free 30-day trial, free shipping when you use our code Maisley 29 and click the link in the description or you can use our QR code. With My Heritage, I was able to track down some of my close DNA relatives, a couple of cousins on both my mom's side and my dad's side. And if you guys remember, I also found the lineage of my greatg grandmother on my mom's side, and she had like nine or 10 kids. So, I'm following in her lineage. >> Apparently, >> with traits, you can see how your genetics influence daily characteristics across things like personality, nutrition, fitness. >> Affirming who you are as a person is like by design. It's not by like nice words of affirmation and things like that because it's not like about like if you're smart, if you're dumb. Like it's it's actually in your blood. Your blood tells you >> that you are special of some sort, you know? Yeah. >> You know, it's not just like you're an athlete. It's you're you were born this way. >> You're built. Yeah. That's why black people be real good at athletics. >> Yeah. And that's why we're really good at what? Well, math. But this is this is a different type of situation here. >> So, Joe and I got our traits results in and we're going to take a look to see, you know, how we compare. And the first thing I wanted to look at was this like spicy sensitivity because I feel like I have a higher tolerance. But ours are the same >> pretty much. >> Yeah. But I don't understand that because like when you y'all when Joe like starts to eat spicy food, he start to sweat. Are you like dripping sweat? I'm like >> I just get a little bit I just get a little bit you know my my face gets a little bit sweaty and red. That doesn't have to do with like actual spice >> sensitivity like on your tongue or something. >> Maybe it's just maybe it's normal. Yeah, >> cuz that's what it says. >> So, and then my caffeine sensitivity is higher than yours. >> But you you do have a high. >> I mean, you get a little bit jittery. >> I do. >> Yeah. >> Mhm. And then bitter taste. We both are kind of like we're like kind of the same. >> Yeah. We like similar kinds of foods, I guess. >> Yeah. Cilantro. >> Uh when when I was younger, I didn't really like cilantro that much. >> Oh, I do like cilantro. And we're kind of like, that's what it says. Sugar craving. That's yours. You don't have It says you're a little bit in the middle. And it says that I'm less likely to have a sugar cream. And I do because I like bitter stuff. I love me a little bit of bitter bitter dark chocolate and some saltine crackers. >> I probably do like sweeter stuff, but just I don't eat a whole mass of it at one time. >> Yeah. >> Let's see. >> Like really kind of the same fitness. Let me see. Cuz black people should got What this? Oh. Huh. It says my endurance is low. >> Yeah, >> but I was a cross country athlete and it was so easy for me to keep going. >> It says I have lower endurance and it says you have >> higher endurance. >> That ain't true, Joe. I can outrun you anywhere. We both have lower muscle mass. >> Yeah, we're pretty lean. I guess we're both >> and we both have um decent like we're like the same in a lot. Do they do they take the same DNA? Is our DNA mixed up now since we swap spit? >> Uh, no. >> That I don't think. I don't think >> cuz we're like the We're like similar. Like where are we like super different? >> Physical activity somewhat. Well, executive function. >> Oh, here we go. That's different. That is so true. So, he has lower executive function and I have higher executive function. And that is so true. That is what we different. Everything I was kind of like we're not like too different on anything. >> It said that I'm more agreeable than you. >> Yeah. >> But maybe I'm so I'm a misfit cuz I go against my DNA cuz you're definitely more agreeable than me. >> Okay. Creativity high. >> So you're more of a introvert or extrovert. >> I'm more of extrovert and you're more injust. >> What I don't understand is the empathy part. >> But I mean I think you do have more empathy towards like children and stuff like that. >> Yeah. just, you know, a lot more sensitive. >> You want a hug? You need You need me to be more empathetic? Come here, baby. It's okay. >> What else? Let's see. >> Mama loved you. >> Stop. Stop. >> So, with the ancient origins features, you can trace your origins way back 10,000 years and gain insights on how they might have been living at that time during those periods. >> My Heritage is committed to their privacy policy. They will never sell or license your genetic data. For just $29, you can get your DNA kit from My Heritage when you use our Cole Masley29 or click the link in our description. You will also get free shipping and a 30-day free trial, but don't forget to use our QR code on screen to let them know that Maisley sent you. Thanks again to My Heritage for sponsoring this video. So, Joe already got the kimchi, but we still don't have any of the other stuff that we need for other things. So, we need um what do we need? Pancakes. How do you say that? >> Uh, pan. >> Pan. We need pancakes. >> Pan. Pan. Pan. >> Pan. >> Pan. >> Yeah. >> We need chap. >> Chap. Yeah. >> Um, we need >> Well, we need to tokoop. >> Yeah, >> I'm good at Korean. >> The rice cake soup. Yeah. So, traditionally they eat this rice cake soup um to represent that you've grown a year older. We forgot about that. You forgot about that. >> Isn't that the seaweed soup though? >> No, it's the to the toko soup. >> It's the what? >> It's the toko. The tok. >> Yeah. >> The toku. And then we need shik. Anyway, we're going to go get all the food and we're going to try to lay it all out here before the kids get back and create a thing. And then we're going to do the What do you say about the bows? I can never say that. I don't know what that means. I don't even know what I'm saying. You going to get dressed up, you going to wear your African clothes, you going to wear your Korean clothes >> cuz you boy, you love wearing your little African clothes from Uganda. >> Yeah, >> you wear that every day. every other day. >> Not every day, but >> on the weekends >> as long as I mean when they're clean. >> I do wear African stuff on the weekends. You need to go to uh Korea and buy like I don't know if they have anything similar like Korean garb like that. It does that that Uganda stuff look good on you though. You guys, when we go back to Korea, oh my gosh, I'm going to go buy the kids clothes, do all the things. I really want to go back to the thing. My thing is is that I really want to go back to Africa cuz I just loved it so much. But I feel like we owe it to our kids to revisit Korea first and then go back to Africa. Korea, Africa, Korea, Africa. >> You think so? >> Yeah. Just because like I wanted to be in their one of their memories. Like they they're not going to remember what happened when they were 5 years old. They'll kind I mean they will, but they'll remember even more if they go like a couple of times when they're little. Yeah. So, do you think it's better to travel to different areas in Africa first or do you think it's better to travel to one place over? Yeah, >> I'm going to go to Zimbabwe. So, well, I ain't got that time of money. So, when I go to Africa, I want to experience a little bit of everything. >> Mhm. >> But yeah, I think both because then you're like, "Okay, I remember this place. It's Uganda." Mhm. >> But you could still remember cuz some of our kids are older. >> Yeah. All right, let's go to HMAT. This is so good. Healthy. That's why Kim has been living so long. >> Yeah, but you can't get that type of kimchi like just at the grocery store. That's not a grocery store type of kimchi. >> Like you need you need the uh like someone made it in the kitchen and then put it in a jar kind of kimchi. >> Mhm. >> Yep. >> Where my mind is. >> Yeah. >> All right, let's go, Joe. Okay, we're going to be picking up some items that we need. So, let's see what they've got here that's already pre-made. Joe, here's the little pancake thingies. >> They got the padan >> kind the chive ones. And then we'll also get some the vegetable kind. The seafood kind. >> Yeah, >> that's good. Three. That's expensive. Isn't that kind of expensive? $4. >> I mean, yeah. That's why I need to learn how to make it. >> I know. I've made them before. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Then we're going to need some chop ch. Man, these prices, you guys. Is this just California or Okay, that's $12 worth of chop tray. That looks like a ripoff. >> Like a restaurant. >> I know. Oh, and here are like the little rice cakes. So, our kids really like these ones. These have little sesame seeds inside of them. Do you like those? >> Yeah. You like those? Those are your favorite? >> Yes. >> And of course, we need shik. So, at this HMR, they make their own chik. So, they have this right here. And I really love these. So, I'm going to get one for myself. This is literally just water, sugar, and rice. I mean, I got one for myself. Should I get for the kids, too? >> No, I think we should just get those. I mean, >> this one tastes better, Joe. Well, two. And then we'll get some more of the other ones, too. >> Oh, they have beef and radish soup. I'm going to eat that. I'm going to get this just to eat it one day, you guys. So, this is all of the pre-made stuff they have right here. M. That's going to be really good. We haven't done like Korean side dishes in a long time. So, I want to get some Korean side dishes. I especially want to get some of those little um anchovies that my kids used to love so they will be more accustomed to eating like fish foods and stuff like that. They won't be creeped out. But where are they? Let's see. This is fishcake right here. Spicy fishcake. Maybe it's over here. Let's see. Yeah, stir fry anchovi. But the spicy kind. Oh my gosh. Everything's getting really expensive. $6. These things used to just cost like $3. Okay, I'm going to get this, too. This is like a spinach. Is it like a spinach or it's like soybean sprouts and Yeah. What is this green part of that called again? >> I mean, it's a spinach. That's what I thought. But that's not what it said. But I'm pretty sure that's finished. >> It's a chimchi. >> Yeah. And you want to get this potato salad. >> You're just shopping. >> You got to have a potato salad. Okay. We got a lot of this stuff. Now we're just trying to debate whether we should get the milk from here or should we get it from a restaurant. Let's get this banana flavored milk. M. And taro flavored milk. Yummy. You're going to like that. Joe, I bought all them dumplings from Trader Joe's. And the kids already ate them all. All three things. >> What dumplings? >> The dumplings from Trader Joe's. The green ones package that I always buy. >> Yeah. >> Oh, they must have gone faster than I >> And I And I go to Trader Joe's, too. >> You do. >> You ready for Korean New Year, baby? You want some sh? Okay. So, this is the girl she ch that you usually see. It comes in this container right here. I'm going to get a couple of these cuz these are a lot cheaper than the store made pie. This baby going to love some Korean food. >> Yeah. So, I got the food ready to have Korean New Year's, buddy. Okay, so this is what we're going to do for dinner. Okay, so this is what we're going to do for Korean New Year's in terms of like the meal. Um, so we have the which is the rice be soup. We have the chachche vermicelli noodles. We have the um fish cake. This isn't necessarily uh traditional, but Alina likes the I guess the potato salad. It's kind of like a rice cake treat with like sesame seed chun, the pajang, kind of like the Korean pancakes. Like assortment of spinach, um bean sprouts, and anchovies. >> And of course, we have the rice punch. I'm cheating here. We could have made this, but I'll have to learn how to make this first. All right, we are all ready for our ceremony >> and I get money mom money. >> So we have these mats set out here that the kids are going to be sitting on to bow out and we have our participants here today. >> So this year I am doing different parenting and that parenting is you have a choice. If you would like to participate in the bowing ceremony you may and if you don't want to participate then you don't have to. So, our older two girls are just not here. They're just out with their friends. But for our younger kids, you see some people are not here. So, they did not want to participate. I didn't put her on a humbuck cuz I didn't want to see her in a humbuck until she turned one. Joe. >> Oh, you're trying to hold off? >> Yes, definitely. >> So, I know it's been a while, but let me show you how to bow properly. Okay. We're going to be sitting on this side or the elder, the older persons are going to be sitting on the other side. Okay. On the couch. And then you come down with your knees. You put your hands down like this and you say, >> "Why?" >> Because it means, "Please receive lots of luck and blessings this year." >> Do the old people have to do it, too? >> No, the older people don't. It's the younger people say it to the older people. So, we, me and Ma say it to our elders, which is our parents or grandparents. And we're going to call them on the phone. >> We're going to call granddaddy and we're going to call a dad. And you guys are going to bow to them. And we're going to bow to them, too. >> Yay. Come on, daddy. >> Don't miss your blessing. >> What is our blessing? >> Blessings are words of wisdom, tips and tricks that you can use for the year and for your life so that you can have a good um send off for the rest of the year. >> Raise your hand if you want a blessing. >> Yes. Don't forget your blessing. See, SOME OF THE KIDS AIN'T HERE and they going to miss they blessings. I said THE ONES WHO AIN'T HERE, they going to miss they blessing. Blessings. >> Wait, wait. They don't know how to say it yet. Do you guys know how to say it? >> Something something. Can we do it now? >> Say hi. >> Hi. How do you feel about how do you feel about um our newborn baby? >> She's pretty pretty girl. >> Yeah, she's very cute. >> Cute, right? >> Uhhuh. >> Does she look like Does she look like you? >> Me? >> Yeah. No, >> no. >> Her face is small, right? Or big? >> I mean, her whole body is big. I can't really say if she's small or big. >> So, she's number nine, right? >> She's number nine. >> Number 10 is coming. >> No, 10's not coming. >> Elena is still Elena is still um trying to what do you call it? She's still recovering. >> Yeah, recovery. She didn't recover. You have think about your wife uh uh condition of your ages and condition of your mind. >> Yeah. >> It's a lot of work for you know take care of your old nine kids. >> Yeah. >> I think nine kids enough. Okay. >> Okay. >> So don't try to get another baby. I think this you know how what's the difference between nine and 10? >> N >> Yeah. What's the difference? Well, nine 10 is a more higher number. You have to enjoy you and Joseph too. You know, you can't, you know, I know you take care of your kid, you know, really good and they raise really good. They look like, you know, seem like a really happy. >> Mhm. >> But you have life, you have Joseph life, too, you know. You know, you have to enjoy your each other, you know. So from the oldest to youngest it's young one Suyang >> Butters and the baby. >> Yeah. So Arzo down to the baby. >> No, Arzo and Aa bow together and then we'll do Audrey Suyang and G will bow together and then >> Oh, we're going to do two at a time. >> Yeah, >> two at a time. >> If you're participating, >> you need to be wearing You can't be wearing tear up pajamas. Audrey going to do it wrong. >> You going to fall like that? >> Holy Spirit. >> Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit. >> Bless the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit. >> You two came though because you didn't want to miss your blessing, right? That's the reason why you should show up. Not because you're about to get a monetary blessing. But you didn't miss your blessing. >> You did not miss your blessing. >> Jesus. This is a very serious and what's it called? Well, like when something is important. >> Okay. Okay. basically really good health, you be strong, study hard, uh listen to your mom and dad, okay? And obey really good. Also, you take care of your sister and take care of your younger sister, boy. Uh uh brother, you're the big girl now. You are so beautiful. Okay. So, Arajo, right? You are 14 years old. Yeah. Almost get into a teen. >> I am a teen. What? >> Yeah, you are a teen. Yes. So sister, brother, you have to take care. You're the big boy, you know. You have to take care all your sister and brother, you know. Something happen, you have to go out fight for them, you know. Okay. You look like your daddy. >> Daddy. >> You handsome boy. I like that. Yeah. Just like your daddy when he was young. Just like you kind of quiet, but he's smiley. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Good boy. Yeah. >> So, who's next? Okay. >> Okay. Ready? Oh, beautiful. Oh, you guys good. Okay. Okay. >> Okay. Su, you're so beautiful, girl. I like your hair. Your mom and dad, you have to listen to your mom and dad what they say to you and listen to their advice. And good study. You have to be hard. Okay. Also, So also you have take care of your sister and brother. Okay. Or care each other. Good. G. Where is G? Oh, you're so beautiful. You're 6 years old. >> Yes. >> Oh, I like your eyes. Your eye. I like that. Oh, you guys so beautiful after all, you know. Okay. Grandma, grandfather normally say you have to care about your sister, brother, each other. Okay. >> Okay. >> Take care. Okay. Good. Who's next? And baby. Okay. >> Do anything. >> Look at baby. Okay. Bow. >> Do your bow. Follow what she's doing. Good. >> Okay. Down. Good. Very good. >> Come back up. >> Okay. And stand up. I like your traditional, you know, classic clothes. I love that you're the big boy now. 3 years old. You have to care about your sister, brother, too. Don't fight each other. Take care of each other. >> Good. Good boy. She's beautiful. Look at that eye. The mama look like a mommy. Can Amaya's in Korea watching her video? >> Yeah, >> she had almost 150,000. >> Thank you. Thank you. Oh, okay. The mom and dad, you guys such great job. I mean, uh I respect you guys what they done for your kid and raise your kids so good. >> Well done now. >> Uh they're they're every time I there look their faces they are so happy and such you job especially your mom and such great job. >> Stop shaking. >> You're number one. Okay. Your dad is number two. Yeah, he's really he's great job too. So yeah, I'm seriously you guys same thing. You have to take care of your kid, you know. So I know you you guys spend such a you know spend a lot of energy for your kid and take care of your your you know your generation to generation. So I really respect you guys. Okay. Such a great job know especially Joseph. Yeah, you did really good, you know. Um and then your wife is great job too. So I really appreciate what you done you guys. Thank you. >> Am I supposed to say something? >> Yeah. >> No, >> I see something. >> No, you don't see. Okay. >> What happened with your hair? >> Arizona got back. >> Why do you guys laugh? >> That's so funny. You're here. You're gone. You're gone. YOU'RE GONE. >> OKAY, once again, this is taking forever, but now we're about to call my dad. And we're going to have the kids bow all at once cuz this is taking quite a long time. From oldest to youngest, we're calling granddaddy. >> Hi, granddaddy. >> Hi. Um, >> hi, Candy. >> Hi. >> Who is that? >> Hi, how you doing? You look cool. >> Okay. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. How you doing? >> All right, get ready. Come on. Come on. WE GOT I'M HUNGRY. >> I'M HUNGRY. Y'all need to hurry it up. >> Okay, go ahead and bow. >> Always save part of your money when you get paid. Save for a rainy day because there will be rainy days. Don't spend all of your money and live paycheck from paycheck. You got that? >> Yes. Don't live paycheck to paycheck. >> That's what he said. >> And here's my second tip. >> Always treat people like you want to be treated. Don't do dirty, underhanded things to people because if you do, when you get older, it's going to come back to your mind and you're going to ask yourself, why did I do that? >> It's going to bother your conscience. So, it's very important to be very careful about your decisions, about how you treat other people, because you're never going to forget what you did to someone if it's something bad. And similarly, if it's something good that you did for others, you'll never forget. So you don't want to get like me and be old and you'll be sleeping and you'll have dreams and you'll remember you will remember something negative that you did that you did not have to do. That's very very important. Treat people like you wanted to be treated. >> You know, you're all supposed to give a monetary gift. No, it's not necessary, but that's a traditionally. Yeah. >> What? I need to give a monetary gift. >> Well, traditionally, uh the grandparents would give monetary gifts. Yes. >> No, it's it's all the elders gift. >> Yeah. >> Well, some of I I I don't see um a Kylie and I don't see a >> Yeah, there have to be a difference. >> I can give them a monetary gift. You have so many. I think you're up to nine now. >> So, you know, I can't give a $100, but I can give each one of you $50. >> YEAH. >> That's a lot of money. >> That's a lot of money. >> How'd you die? >> Does that work for you? >> He's smiling now. His face turned brighter. >> That's what I can do. And then you will be able to apply my rule. >> You'll be able to save some of it for rainy days. >> Yes. Very good. They can put some of it into >> What do you guys say? >> Or thank you. Okay, this is my advice to you. It's based upon one of your recent videos and someone left this in the comments and I agree with them. When you buy a home, you should get a home inspection because if it's a good home inspector, he'll find everything that's wrong. he'll give you a big 35 or 50 page report >> and um you can feel confident that um any defects will be uh noted. >> Yeah, we actually did get one, but I guess they didn't do a very good job. We should have done our research more better. Who's the baby? Okay. Bow. >> My message to you all is to be kind to one another. Be kind. Being kind will go a long long way in your life. I don't have anything extra to add to that because I just want you to focus on that one thing. Just be kind to one another. Do you understand? My thing to you guys is to love God. Okay? That's my words of wisdom. Love and devote yourself to God with all your mind, with all your heart, and with all your soul. and be his servant and ask him what you should be doing with your life because a lot of your problems in life will come from not loving your God and being his servant. Okay? And my wish is for you is that you will all grow up and find your purpose in life. Find what makes you brings you joy and make sure that that is aligned with what Jesus wants for you. Okay, that's all I have to say because I'm hot. I want to get out of this outfit and I'm hungry. Yay. Yay. Yay. >> I'm so sorry for those who said they didn't want to participate. I was at the store and I didn't think you guys were going to be here, so I didn't get you anything. Excuse me. Can't out 20 20. >> Mom, you can take that. >> No, it's you guys. >> But I don't care. >> It's going to be poor. >> No, I'm not going to be poor. Okay. I'm not going to be poor. That's your money. You guys, you guys luckily got what from granddaddy. >> Yes. Send it to me and I'll give it to you guys. Okay. What did you do? What did you say was that also not going to have one? Can I taste it? >> This says >> It does say very good. >> And it means milk. >> Yes. Where did you learn that at? Did you learn that at Korean school? >> Yes, you did. Okay, it's the next day and I just wanted to talk to you guys about this new parenting method that I've been trying out for a few months. One of the things that I've been doing is giving them choices instead of saying, you know, you have to do this or you have to do that and letting them feel the natural consequence of their choices. And I've been doing this to try to teach them how the real world works. Excuse my throat, you guys. I'm still recovering from some type of I don't know. One of the lessons I've been teaching them with their optional chore chart is that when you work, you get paid. And when you work hard, you get paid even more. So, that's been working really well. And as we were getting ready to do the ceremony, I was saying, "Come on, you guys. Come on. We're going to do the ceremony." And some people were kind of slowm moving. And then it reminded me, you know what? Why am I trying to implement and force someone to do this? You know, in the real world, they have a choice if they want to participate in family gatherings or not. So, I said, "You know what? If you don't want to participate, you don't have to. You can join us later for the eating, but you don't have to participate in the bowing ceremony." Boy, did their faces light up so fast. Yes, we don't have to. So, we started the bowing ceremony and I guess there was so much fun happening and so much joy and they got a sneak peek that some goodies were going to be given out that some people changed their mind and wanted to participate. And naturally, I did not have anything prepared for those who said they didn't want to be a part of it. And natural consequences is if you don't RSB to the party, they're not going to have any your goodie bag there for you. Now, they still got stuff from granddaddy, but for me, I wasn't prepared. So, I I think they understood what was going on, but you know, I love my kids so much that I still want them to be a part and give them my blessing and to receive wellwishes and things into the new year. So, I ran past Target today and got them some nerds and some M&M's for the ones who decided to participate at the last minute. And you know what? I'm going to write a little note here telling them how much I love them and so happy that they decided to participate with the family because when you don't have all your family members there you miss out on certain aspects of people's personalities and actually we miss out on them. So I wrote these little notes here and this one says with you our bowing ceremony was lit. So happy you decided to join. Hope to see you next year. Love ma. And I have this one and it says, "We almost missed you there. Glad you decided to come. Please receive this treat as well wishes."
