Hi, my name is Brian and I'm the HIPPO professor. And today we're going to do a pregrading analysis video. Uh mostly focusing on cards that I recently acquired in my very very large collection purchase. There are quite a few cards that uh in my estimation need to be either considered for grading or probably just should go into grading. What I'm not certain about is that um well, I'm not entirely sure which company to use. uh conventional wisdom would say that resale value uh tends to be highest with PSA. However, uh there are some things that I think need to be weighed against that fact. Uh number one, turnaround times. Number two, upcharges, which prior to this point, I've never actually submitted a card that needed an upcharge, but that may very well change. Uh and also number three, the grading inconsistencies. And so I I for sure a bunch of the cards I'm looking at submitting, unlike the usual pregrading analysis videos, a lot of the cards I typically look at are these kind of cards that might be in the five to $20 range uh in value. And typically I'm looking for them to be very strong candidates for nines or tens almost exclusively. This is not the case with this particular uh you know pregrading analysis. A good number of these cards are bigger cards. They're in the 50 to 100 to 200 to the higher dollar value range. And and so they don't I don't think these cards need to necessarily you know grade a nine or a 10 uh to make them worthwhile to send in. As I mentioned, I am looking to for some of these cards, I'm looking to sell them to recoup some funds. It was a very expensive purchase for me uh to say the least. And not only can I increase value by putting these cards in holders, but I can also increase liquidity and uh increase the rate at the at which they will sell. So, that's sort of my purpose. And so as I'm looking at them, uh, I I do think that a lot of cards that might grade a five or a six with PSA might grade a seven or an eight with some other company like Beckett. So, let's go ahead and turn the camera around. Let's look at some of these cards that we have. Let's analyze the heck out of them. And maybe we'll spend a little more than just 30 seconds looking at some of these really cool cards. Okay, so we've got a stack of cards here that's uh rather large, but uh we're going to go ahead and start working through these. Um a couple of these are cards I already had pulled out um and sort of already wanted to do this analysis video for. I've got my my glove on here. We've got the uh the microfiber um and of course another uh microfiber cloth for getting some dust particles off. And so yeah, we're going to do these in a couple different parts. Um, so for today we've got a couple um couple big ones to take a look at in here. Um, and yeah, let's go ahead and start with a uh a Star Rubies Spring Fling from 99 Skybox Premium. And I am just realizing that this particular card is in one of these sleeves that does not have one of those cuts in it. So we are going to go ahead and take care of that right now. Okay. Okay. So here we go. Let's see what we can see. And let's get this to focus. There we go. Got the light right on it. Let's give it a once over. See how we're looking. Let's move that so it's not going to have that glare. There we go. I will say that is a pretty card. Let's look at the surface real quick while we're looking at it. Wow, that is a sharp card. Now, there is a ding in there. And from this angle, it's hard to see it. It's in this bottom right corner. And let's see if we can maybe from the edge. Trying to see how we can because it it it's more obvious not on camera. I just need to find Well, you know what? I think maybe I was thinking it was the other star rubies. Yeah. Okay, never mind. Okay. So, this I thought there was something going No, I think I think we're okay. Let's check the back. Let's check the back cuz all I'm saying is this is this is cleaner than I thought it was going to be. So, all right. So, I guess we've got a little touch. And so, yep. Little bit of fuzz. No problem. But yeah, just a just a little teensy bit of edge wear. Not bad, boy. Not bad at all. Oh, boy. All right. And again, looking at the surface, the back surface. We got to check for indents, pock marks, surface scratches, all that kind of stuff. Okay. Boy, that is. Wow. That is a clean card. Okay, we are we are starting things off with a bang here. Um, you know, I looked at it before, not quite this closely, and at first glance, my my first my first thought was that this card probably had a shot at a nine. I mean, I I still feel like it's probably, again, with how harshly PSA is grading, I still feel like it's probably an eight, but it definitely has a shot at a nine. I almost feel like if if I did, now the issue is I I know I think the last PSA 9 of this card, I think, sold for about $2,000. Um, I do think that if I sent it to Beckett, there wouldn't be the upcharge. Um, I also do think that it would have an easier time of getting a nine through Beckett. And I just feel like that would probably be the case. So, I think for now, I have a couple different piles out to the side here. And I think I am going to put this in the Becket pile for now. And the other piles basically have numbers written there that I'm I'm doing my best guess on what that will become. So, here's another one. Uh, this was one I already had. In fact, this was a recent pickup of mine, uh, just from eBay, and I was really excited to get this one. This is a a 96 collector's choice. Uh, this is a gold signature, although it's very hard to tell that it's the gold one. The gold and the silver are very uh very, very similar and tough to tell. This card, as I said, um you know, this is a lower value card, um especially compared to that last one, but I again, it's a it's a one per box level uh tier of insert. And if I think that it's got a shot at a nine or higher, it's got a little something in the corner there. Just a little something, but that is very tiny. I mean, that's a it's a sharp corner, but it's just a little I don't know. We'll see how else this card looks. Remember pulling this out thinking it was really sharp. Yeah, just a little. I mean, honestly, this is less than There was a card I got back in my last order that was sent through GameStop that uh had something like that. And I was really hoping for the nine. Then I was doubting myself, thinking that there was no way it would get the nine. And of course, came back a nine. And then many of the other ones I thought would be nines or even tens came back eights. [laughter] So, go figure that one. Oh, yeah. I think it was the back edges made me decide to go ahead and pull this aside because they looked so good. This dark red border and it's just beautiful. I mean, it is sharp sharp. And so, a card from Let's look at the surface here. card from 96. I mean, that is a uh a 30 year old card now, which sounds uh disgusting to say that out loud, but it it is. And um you know, it's it's wow, it's a really great looking card. Now, here's a weird thing. Now, this one didn't come up on the camera, but I I see it in there's a thing on the lower corner. I'm wondering there's a little dark smudge. Wondering right. Oh boy. I'm going have to zoom in if it's going to focus. Maybe it won't focus for me. On that um Major League Baseball logo just to the left of it, the bottom left, there's a little I think it's printed on there. It's not. It looks like a little ink smudge, but I think it's not actually ink. I think it's Well, I think it's printer ink. I think it's from the factory. I don't believe it's um Yeah. And then there's one little tiny little thing above the Y in sigh. And you can kind of see it right there. Just a little. So, we'll have to uh we'll have to see about that one. Um, and honestly I I had a 97 score uh white border artist proof that had a similar little issue like that and uh and yeah, it it came back a nine no problem. So So yeah, you know, I think the plan there was to send this at the uh at the lowest possible cost level to PSA and and really hope for that nine. And that's kind of that's kind of still what I'm what I'm thinking is going to be the case for for this one. So that's what we're going to go ahead and do for this second card. So I was looking and I have about it's about 35 to 40 cards that I'm considering sending. And of course, if I had encountered some very serious damage or something like this with a lower-end card like this, if it's not going to get a nine, it's just not viable. It's not worth it to grade. Even if it's kind of a rarer um card or a tough tougher one to to pull, if if it's not worth it, it's not worth it. Okay, this is one that I [clears throat] considered before. This is not one that I got recently, but it's one that I've had for a while. Amazing card. This is a 2000 finest gold refractor with the decal edge and the the die cut all around it. And this is a beautiful card. This is a weird card because there is damage on here, but it's also a bigger card. Uh to which even if it has damage, I checked like there's only two of these ever been graded by PSA. Uh one's a nine and one's an eight. Now, this is a beautiful looking card. Okay. Um, part of me though thinks that this card's either going to get like a 10 or a six and like nothing in between. Like there is a little bit there's an issue with it and and it really it's like okay talk about gambling in the hobby. It's kind of like you're gambling whether PSA is going to catch the issue or not because it's so small, so subtle and you know they only spend 30 seconds uh looking at these things. So just going to be very careful with this uh these decal edges. But boy is this card amazing. Look at this card. Wow. So, just uh checking out this this decal edge. Now, I do see a little tiny bit of fiber coming off of this uh you know where the where the decal edge [clears throat] meets the other decal edge forms the decal corner. Those decal corners are treacherous, but these are actually quite good as far as those are concerned. And this is just Yeah. Okay. So, let's look down a little bit. See, we get this to focus just a little bit. There we go. That's what we're That's what we like to see. And while we're here, let's look at the surface and Hopefully we're not going to see. Okay. So, there's something there. Is that on his glove? Huh. Interesting. All right. So, so this is the issue right here. And there's a actually a small dent in the surface of this card. And it's right above his head right there. Right above the A on his hat right there. There you go. And so the question is, man, I think they would see that. I remember trying to look for it in a case and it was impossible to see when it was in a case, but but uh for sure for sure they would. I think they would see that. I hadn't looked at it this close in a long time. I just couldn't remember. where that was. Huh. Now I am curious. Can is the dent visible through the back? And of course the back is also beautiful refractored finish. And so it's uh somewhere close to the very top of the card. So we'll we'll check over the uh the edges, the corners and everything first. And yeah, once again these these decal corners I think are actually really good for this card. Now, this is a refraed back, but it's a bit muted. Let's see if we can see any kind of a dent through the card. Honestly, I'm not sure I can. There's a teensy little puck mark at the very top of the card, but that is I mean, yeah, right there. That is teensy. Wow. Okay. So, it's like Yeah. So, not not if, but when they see that that dent right there, what would they do with that? Just call it a six. Call it a seven. Call it a five. I don't know what they would do. I'm having a hard time. There we go. Having a hard time keeping it focused, but there it is. Yeah. I don't know. Tough to say. Tough to say. Yeah. Um, I think I think regardless I I would have to say I would have to say that this would if I'm making a prediction, I would say it would come back a six. And And if it comes back a six, I I wonder like is any value add? Well, I'm I'm wondering if if any value even is added for it being in a six holder. It's not particularly high grade or anything. People like their cards to be in PSA holders. So, there is probably some kind of a liquidity gain, if not value gain. And then, of course, you can make the argument that liquidity is value. Added liquidity is added value because the the the you know the cost that time costs you [laughter] the time value of money and all that. Although with that particular card, I'm not sure it's really relevant because that particular card for me anyway was not on the chopping block. But anyway, okay, here's a cool card. This is a 95 score and I picked this one up late last year. This is a gold rush parallel, but it was a gold rush parallel that had been redeemed uh submitted and redeemed with an entire team set to redeem for the platinum. And so, and because it was redeemed for the platinum, it has these hole punch holes punched in the bottom corner here by the Braves logo. And honestly, I didn't even know I didn't even know that um PSA graded these with the hole hole punched in them. So, easy mookie. A lot of holes there. lot of lot of holes, but they're in a very specific Pinnacle logo design. [laughter] It is not the Arizona Diamondbacks logo. This is before that was a a team. But yeah, I guess just a little There's a little touch on that corner. Yeah, just a very small, huh? Barely barely a touch of white. Although now I'm seeing there is a little more whitening on this green edge than I remembered seeing. Boy, that's a beautiful card. Okay, that's a little bit interesting. See, I was thinking, is this just something that could be wiped off? But you know what I'm realizing? I think this might be a little bit of snow that we see in this green border here, these little tiny dots. It's almost like it was bricked or something, but it didn't happen recently because h yeah, you know what? Maybe we just say no to this card. It's not a particularly expensive one. And um you know it has got a little touch in the corner which on its own it's very very small and it's a back corner and so that wouldn't I wouldn't say that that would you know disqualify it from a nine but >> [clears throat] >> um but I think you combine that with a little bit of edge wear and you combine that with a little you start to even mention the word snowing. Yeah. No thank you. No thank you. We'll uh we'll save our we'll save our grading fees for How about a card like this? Oh boy. 2007 Bowman Chrome red refractor out of five. Let's check out this beauty. Now I did glance over this one already and so I know this is not a 10 or a nine. Although from the front you couldn't tell that. And so let's look at this card. How we how we looking here. Boy, is that beautiful. Wow. Yeah. I mean from uh what is this? A little punk mark right by the M and Maddox. Yeah, just a little. There we are. Boy, this car is beautiful. Shiny. Really great centering on this, too. Let's check the surface real quick. That is where things hide. All right. Now, looks like we might have some very faint surface scratches or blemishes on this left border here. Right there. I don't know what that is. I actually hadn't seen that before, but it's very minor. But let's keep on looking. Let's make sure we're not missing something else. That's funny. That area right here that does not show up in person almost at all, but through the phone it uh it lights up, which is interesting. Okay, now on the back. Let's check out the back. The back, there was something that jumped out to me right away. And so we'll we'll see if we can locate that. I'm sure we will, but um all right, let's take a look at the corners. Whexposed here. There's that serial number 305. Yeah, nicely centered. All right. So, maybe a tiny touch on that corner, but that's really minor. Okay. And so, yeah, I I noticed this and it's right here. I'm putting the light on it. There's a tiny little indent right up here on the edge, right by the edge of the card. I mean, it's very small. It It effectively looks like a pock mark. In fact, that's what I think it might be. You know what? That's not as bad as I thought it was. I thought it was a larger indent, but looking at that, let me check the rest of the surface here. But if that's all that is, even with that and those really faint scratches on the front. I mean, this could still be a nine. Now I'm realizing I was thinking this would be like a seven or an eight or something. And I mean, it still might be an eight. Um, but I I'm going to revise my opinion. I think this actually does have a shot at a nine. That's a beautiful card. I mean, it is like dead centered. And you know, it's funny I say it was dead centered because I'm thinking about Dylan. I know that Double D, he opened a bunch of this stuff back in the day. So, that was funny. actually the 2024 Cleveland National. I actually sold him the um this card, but it was in an orange refractor at a 25, [laughter] which funny enough, I had graded a nine from PSA. And that would be really funny if I were able to get this uh this out of five also in a PSA 9. I mean, it comes back an eight or whatever. It's out of five. I mean, and it and it looks it presents beautifully whatever the number is. So yeah, I think this is one we have to grade um out of five is is pretty bonkers and for a player like Maddox, I'll uh I'll put this in the eight pile. We'll we'll we'll be very conservative with that. I think that's very conservative. Okay, this is a cool one. All right, so All right, so I I might have three of this card. Uh this is [laughter] I uh I ended up ordering two of them by by mistake. So, I got one, got a second one by mistake, forgot I had it, and then it also came with this collection. Um, so we have the third copy. Um, all of mine are actually pretty solid. One has a little touch in a corner. One has a little bit of um weird stuff going on with this foil and and this card looks about perfect. So, I have high hopes for it. Let's see if it's if if it stands under uh scrutiny. And I'm realizing too, this sleeve does not have that cut out. So I'm realizing a bunch of these I'm going to have to just cut the cut the corners here. There we are. So we can get it back in cleanly, especially with the foil on these things. We are we are not taking chances with that. Okay, let's take a look. So really cool card numbered out of 300. The uh is really nicely centered with these big old thick borders. One thing that's interesting to me, there was one little thing I noticed on this card, but what made me feel a better about it was that it was on the other one also, and that is right here on the border. There's a little what looks like a pock mark right there, but that exact spot on the exact card was there on another one also. And so I feel like that's just a standard company like print spot. This is so cool. You can see the serial number through the card from the front. See that shadow there? It's like embossed, but you can see that out of 300 from the front. Look at that. That stamp is very deep. [laughter] Very deep in the card. All right. The vertical back centering isn't that good. But PSA doesn't care about that. As long as it's better than 2575, which this is, it's still within their 10 tolerances on the back. Uh some of the other companies like Beckett especially will really hammer centering issues, but in my experience, if you have like a a slight corner issue, Beckett's usually the one you want to send that to. Boy, I tell you what, I I I can't really find anything wrong with this card. This is, like I said, there's a a tiny a tiny print dot on the front, but because it's in the exact same spot in another card, and this is out of 300. It's not like they made, you know, millions of these cards, I mean, honestly, this could I think it's got a shot. I think it's got a shot at a 10. It's probably a nine. Mo most of them are, [laughter] but um but yeah, you know, I think this is a it's a $20 card, maybe 25 now the market's gone up and um yeah, sure. Let's uh let's let's give it a shot. I I feel good that we uh we pulled out that that gold rush. That one felt like it was kind of kind of pushing it a little bit, but this one this one doesn't feel like that to me. [sighs] Okay, now boy, we got some some biggies coming here. I'm looking at these other cards. We got retail red. I do wonder about this. I you know I do think that um I think this card also only has one or two in the pop report and um you know this is just one of those things where do I do I really even need to send this in it is it is a bigger card. It is very rare hard to find good specimens. And the only reason I might send a card like this in is kind of like in the last PSA order I sent in. I almost don't even need to analyze this thing cuz I know it's going to be a crap grade. It's going to come back like a PSA 4 and I and I'm not sure I really care. Um there are so few graded examples of cards like this where I think literally this might be the third one that they've ever graded. And so it almost doesn't matter at that point. And that's that's kind of the idea behind why I want to send some cards to Becket. It's like, yeah, PMGs are big cards and all, but but really um does it matter if you don't really grade it with the value leader? The card is in that case so important, way more important than the grade that it's going to even get. I almost wonder if this is even, you know, I I sent in a card like this in my last grading order through uh through GameStop, which by the way has sat there for two months and it still hasn't even entered the research and ID phase. So, that's the other thing about going for Becket. It's like if uh if these orders are taking so long to get through, I mean, maybe it's worth giving Becket a shot just because you'll see your cards again, you know, before uh before Thanksgiving this year. I don't know. Uh, but this, yeah, this card, um, the one that I sent that was like that in my previous grading order was the Tony Gwyn. Um, it was [clears throat] the 96 Pinnacle Afficionado first pitch preview card that has this notorious edge chipping issue. Um, both on the front and back, but um, that's a card that's going to come back in like yeah, PSA 4 probably. But again, the POP reports so low on those things that um you know, having any of them graded and honestly this is this is a similar case. But this I um as I glanced at this through the case, I was thinking PSA 8, which I think is, you know, look, as as harsh as their grading, an eight is is actually really good. This is a 2000 Topps MVP promotion card. There were only a hundred of them made. And for a tops flagship product, that is um that is minuscule. [clears throat] Yeah, the pack odds are are awful on getting even one of them. [clears throat] And it's a top flagship set, so it's a fairly large set, too, on top of that. So, the true odds are just astronomical. But here we go. Paper tops. Yeah. Again, just a a teensy little touch in this of white in that top right corner. Um, you know, a little bit centering, but again, nothing uh nothing worse than 60/40. So, we are still fine when it comes to centering tolerances for nines. But um like I said, I don't think this has a shot at a nine. It's kind of a rougher edge up here. You can kind of see sort of a rougher cut. And we'll have to look at the surface of the back here. Very clean card, but uh I think an eight makes sense. And so, yeah, if this were an eight, [clears throat] I I think that'd be great. But again, mostly I just am really happy to have this card that uh that presents as nicely as this does. It does have just a little a little touch on the bottom edge also. If you saw that right there, just right there. Just a little. Just a little. But even still, that's very tiny. And I think uh yeah, I think all things considered, I'd be happy to send that in. And uh and like the other ghost we just looked at, this one has so few. So the same story, so few graded. And I have to think so many of these were lost. um and and might be able to be found in dollar bins and bargain bins because people just don't know that this stamp is anything special. It doesn't look like it's a particularly special card uh when you see it. Okay, now [clears throat] we got this molten metal. This is 99 molten metal fusion and this blue one. There's three tiers, of course. We have the the silverish looking one that's sort of a more common base one. The blue one's numbered out of 500. This is the sterling. And then of course the titanium is the super rare out of 50. And those are huge cards. So yeah, these cards are not cheap either. Um I also see that they're really condition sensitive. So, honestly, I was looking and and at what some of these cards do and and honestly, if this comes back a seven, uh that that's a win. So, it doesn't have to be a perfect card. It does have a little little touch little touches of white here. Um so, not a not a huge problem, but just um you know, look have some residue here or something. I don't really know what's going on there, but uh we'll give it a little little brush off here. But yeah, edges look great. Surface is pretty clean. You know, just a little bit of uh we'll dust it off here. It was interesting. Little specks of dust. I wonder if they get caught in these uh these diecut holes. I wonder what's to be done about that or if anything. Probably nothing. Yeah, just a little touch little touch of white on the corner next to the serial number. Not a huge problem. Certainly nothing that would make it worse than a seven. And that again looks like a little print spot there. Yeah. Yeah. Nice card. Nice card. Yeah, I think we'll send that in. I think I'll uh Yeah, probably somewhere between a seven and an eight. I think I'll be conservative and call it a seven just because that's how harshly they're grading now. Works for me. Yep. Okay. Now, I'm going to do three more cards and then we're going to take a little break from part one. Let's go ahead and go one of the big boys. Let's do We've done a star ruby. So, let's go ahead and do a PMG. This is a 99 PMG. Um, I don't have, again, I I looked at it through a case and I did take it out of that case and of course I I couldn't help but look at a little bit closer. U, it was funny when we were looking at these cards. Um, they were in some of these bigger cards were in these ridiculous cases that were really hard to open. Um, and so that was a problem. >> [sighs] >> So the issue with these 99 PMGs is the same issue as the uh the date with destinies from 99 Fleer tradition which is it has the same sort of really awesome gold holof foil but it chips up the edges like you wouldn't believe. Now this one actually has really nice edges um but it has other issues and we'll we'll see that when we get in here. So, I I seem to recall thinking that this card's probably somewhere in the 56 range. Uh, which is actually just fine. That's pretty typical for these. So, let's start with the corners and let's make take a pass around the card. We will uh we will look at it. But that's um that's really really quite good. And there we see a little dent in the bottom. See, there's a little dent right there. Corners are great. Edges are fantastic. I don't want to handle the edges too much here, so I got to be careful. But yeah, that dent right there is going to hurt us. That's going to take us down to that the seven or six immediately. And then uh yeah, you know, we got a little little touch on the edge here, but considering that this is the worst edge on the front, that's not bad. That's really not bad. There is also a pock mark right there above that second D in Maddox. So, yep, that is a factory. At least I think it's a factory mark. That's what it looks like to me. Let's check over the back real quick. Yep, we can go ahead and put the uh you see the embossing from the front. Again, this is a very thin card. These cards are not that thick. There's that serial numbering. Looks pretty good. Looks like just a little bit of a touch of white on the corner, but that's nothing too bad. And perhaps another touch of white there. Again, nothing awful. Yeah, considering that the edges tend to be the worst thing about these cards, it's really just that dent. It's just that dent right here by the Metal Universe logo. Let's get that nice and that's pretty small. I It's definitely there, you know. Um, yeah. I think uh I think a six is is very fair if we were going PSA. And so that there's the there's the question. And so with this card, um, you know, with, uh, with upcharges or or the service level that the insurance value would, uh, sort of correspond to. Yeah, this this might be this might be a $300 submission to PSA. A [clears throat] $300 grading submission, which, you know, it it would come back faster, too. You know, it would come back faster. I would actually get graders notes which would be amazing. Um, but I am I am strongly considering just sending this to Beckett. I think that if PSA would give this a six and I'm not sure they would. They might give it a five. Might give it a four and a half for all I know. Uh, that mean they might give it a seven, but I don't I don't think so. I think with that dent and with the other little touches of white, no. I think there's no way it gets a seven. I think it probably a five or a six if I'm being honest. But I honestly think there's a shot that Becket gives this like a seven. Um I mean maybe not, maybe I'm wrong. Maybe it comes back at Beck at five. Um you know, but I do think the important thing with these cards, and of course, one of the big risks I'm taking as a buyer uh getting into cards like this is I'm I'm risking a huge risk that this even gets slabbed up. I don't know if it's been if it's been altered or color added or if it's been trimmed or or what. I don't know what to what to expect for any of this. So anyway, just um you know, there's a lot of risk. Okay. Yeah, here's some of the edge some of the edge almost like bubbling. There we go. Didn't didn't show up that well there, but from this angle, I can see it better. That's what you usually see. And that's what hammers this thing. That's what makes me think now at PSA give this like a five. So maybe this would be a six or a six and a half for Becket. Um so I am I'm going to put this in the Becket pile. Now, I may still choose to go at a [clears throat] at a faster service tier, send it in slightly higher, like a I don't know, $75 service tier or something to get it back faster, but um but it wouldn't be $300. And again, I I think the um Yeah. All right. This is a goofy card. This is a 2007 Upper Deck Gaudy. And this is the uh the diamond stars from 07 Gaudy. It's obviously a smaller card. And this is the yellow parallel that is handnumbered out of five. And it looks like we might have a couple of small surface issues. So, okay, that was a piece of fuzz. That's good. However, if we get this really close up here. Yeah, right there. I don't know what we got. This little thing here and then that little thing by the bill of his cap. There we are. Yeah, right there. And I can't really tell. Like that looks like it's not part of the card. Like that was not meant to be there. Yeah. So I mean the corners are are look they look great. They look fantastic. The centering looks fine. No uh no issues I can see on the back here. Back looks about perfect. Yeah, it's a matte finish. Nothing much to do here, but yeah, I'm just seeing just some stuff right there. Huh. Yeah. Weird weird card. Weird card, but but also it's it's numbered out of five and so Tough to say. Was that worth grading? I I I don't think I'd get upcharged. I don't think it's probably in that kind of value tier. I don't know that Maddox as a uh anything but a Brave. I know as you get into his Cubs years, the demand for Maddox stuff and the value just like Griffy, you know, most of Griffy's expensive stuff is him depicted as a mariner. And so once he's on the reds past 2000, you know, um some of the bigger players in those early to mid 2000 sets, they're the the poo holes in the Ichiro. Um that was when their heyday was. And you know, Griffy obviously still has a bunch of value. He's Griffy, but um you know, the power rankings once you get into the early 2000s shifts a little bit. And um you know people want Maddox in his when in his prime when he was with the Braves. They don't really want him necessarily as a Padre. So I don't know. I I Yeah. I mean I don't know what that would do with the uh with the surface. Maybe that becomes an eight or something. But again there's only five of them out there or a seven. Who knows? But um yeah, rare enough I think that we have to give it a shot anyway. All right. And then one more and we'll take a break. Come back and do a second and or a third part in a little bit here. All right. This is an exciting one. I like I like artist proofs and these parallels that are pretty low numbered. This is a 96 leaf signature. They had two different press proofs. The gold one, which was uh fairly common. In fact, you can buy the gold one on eBay for under 10 bucks. Not too tough to find. I actually don't have that one yet. But again, it's not one I'm in a rush to pick up because it's uh not hard to find. But you know which one is hard to find? This one. This is the platinum press proof. And this platinum again, you can see the holo foil shimmer. Uh the gold one is just a gold foil stamp with the press proof stamp here that also does not shine. So let's take a look. This card, I think, has a shot at a nine. And it's a rare one. Tough to find. It has a little bit of extra fuzz on these edges up here. So, I'm not sure what what to think about that, but I do think the uh production level is pretty high. The surface looks really good. Really clean here. Again, just a little bit on the edges here, huh? I don't know if there's a little fuzz on there or what, but yeah, beautiful card. Oh, that's great. Fantastic card. Let's uh let's look at the back. Yeah, just a little just a little white on that top edge. Just a little. which I know they might make that an eight now because of that, but this card is just immaculate shape. Wow. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, yeah. Depending on what mood the graders in, you know, they could say it's an eight or they could say it's a nine. But this is a just a beautiful beautiful card. Love it. Okay. Well, I think with that we'll pause here for now. We will come back for a part two. We will come back for probably a part three as well. But um but yeah, I think I made some good decisions here. I think most of these we probably are going to send in. Um the only one we've eliminated was the uh that gold rush 95. There's a piece of There we go. Little speck of something in there. I don't want it inside the card saver. Okay, that's better. Okay. Yeah, I feel pretty good about these uh about these submissions. So, but yeah, the only one that I think has a shot at a 10 is going to be the studio gold press proof. And then the only ones I think have a shot at a nine are these kind of cheapy ones. And then um most the other ones are bigger and yeah they're they're bigger to a point where it may not matter as much. All right. Well, thanks for coming along for the ride and we will see you in part two.
