Signals

The video features highly natural, unscripted speech with specific local context and personal opinions that deviate from generic AI scripts. The physical interaction with products and the realistic outcome of the challenge strongly indicate human creation.

Natural Speech Patterns Use of filler words ('uh', 'but usually'), self-correction, and informal phrasing ('bread and butter stuff', 'slip ups').
Personal Anecdotes and Context Mentions specific locations (Louisville, Kentucky), personal preferences ('I don't like selling board games'), and family needs ('My wife was looking for another Instant Pot').
Real-time Problem Solving The narrator physically interacts with items, such as fixing bike brakes on the spot and checking specific ID numbers on tags.
Authentic Narrative Arc The creator failed to reach the $500 goal, ending at $250; AI-generated 'hustle' content typically follows a perfect success formula.

Worth Noting

Positive elements

  • This video provides a practical look at specific brands and categories (North Face, vintage bikes, calculators) that have high resale value in the current market.

Be Aware

Cautionary elements

  • The calculation of 'profit' is based on optimistic revenue estimates rather than net income, which masks the true difficulty of scaling a reselling business.

Welcome back to our channel. Today I'm doing a $500 challenge. I'm going to go to five different Goodwills to see if I can make $500. It might seem like a simple challenge because I just have to make a $100 in each Goodwill with finding stuff to flip for a profit. This video is actually for those people who are looking to change out of their $15 or $20 per hour job and they're looking for an alternative to make more money either as a side hustle or as a full-time gig. So, I'm here to show you guys the bread and butter stuff, the high ticket items, and to show you guys my strategy for every time I step into a Goodwill. >> You can choose resale. >> All right, we just made it to our very first Goodwill right here. This is actually a brand new Goodwill that opened up a few weeks ago here in Louisville, Kentucky, and I'm actually really excited. I've never been in before yet. Uh, but usually with a brand new store, I feel like they're going to have a lot more slip ups. So, hopefully we can find some gems. So, every time I step into Goodwill, my first thing I look for is the toys and the plushes. They're usually pretty small, priced cheaply, and easy to ship. So, the first thing that catches my eye is this Webkins. If you can tell by this brand right here, and also it's a GANs. Usually, these can go for about $10 each. And I don't know what their price this one at, so we'll find out. I don't like selling board games, but I know there's a couple resellers who love to sell parts and pieces of board games, but to me, that just takes up way too much time. Uh, looks like there's no big ticket toy items that stands out to me. All right, we're going to dig back into these Squishallows to see if there's any more jellys or Webkins. I don't buy Squishallows anymore. So, it looks like only this toy is worth grabbing. I still need to look up its ID number, which you can tell from right here. The easiest way to look it up is this HM117 pink pony. Only goes for about $5 to $8 on eBay, but I've sold so many of them. I'm going to hang on to it because we are trying to hit that goal of $500 in profit. It's actually not quite the season for bikes right now, but if I hang on to this, I can definitely sell for about $50 to $60. And they're only asking $9 for it. So, it's not a bad bad flip. Let's just see if I can fix the brakes here real quick. They're usually pretty easy to fix, especially if it's out of places. And there you go. I fixed the brakes. All working in tight right now. And looks like it's pretty good. We might just need some new inner tubes. Or looks like this back tube is a little deflated. They're pretty easy to change out and cost only about five bucks. So total invested might be about 15 bucks to change into about $50 to $60. These are the high ticket items or big ticket items you want to look for. So we've been in this group for less than 5 minutes and already we're about $50 $60 in potential profits which is awesome. Oh, what's this TI83 calculator? These are kind of slow sellers now. only worth about 15 20 bucks, but for $3, it's a definite pickup for me, especially if you find these at the Goodwill bins for only a few cents or dollars. Another section I usually tend to skip are books. They're take a lot of time to scan. Usually, the profit margins aren't that great. I know a lot of resellers scan these religiously, but to me, it's just not worth my time. In all the years of reselling, I've never made a profit off of glassware. I know some people like to look for Glass Baby. It's a good brand, but to me, I just I've never seen them or crystal stuff. I just don't have interest in reselling this. And appliances. You see them all the time. This Ninja coffee maker seems interesting. Might be worth looking up. My wife was looking for another Instant Pot. So, for 15 bucks, I might grab this. It is a little dirty, but we can clean that up pretty easily. So, you just never know while you're shopping for business. I can also find stuff for the family. It looks like I should have grabbed the cart. So, let's go back and get one. The next section I have a lot of success with are jackets. So, let's go ahead and scan those. Right off the bat, a North Face fleece jacket for $11. That's going to be in my maybe pile. There's a North Face one. I'm going go ahead and put that in the maybe pile. It's $11. Disney stuff. I tend to not sell them very fast, so I'm going to pass on that. Even if it's $8. Let me know what you guys think. Oh, this is a cool design for a Northace. Three North Faces in a row. That's crazy. All right. Any more North Faces out here, guys? Calling for all North Faces. Oh, this is a pretty decent brand, too. These a fishing brand. Here's Columbia, but it's got a tag here. I'm going to pass on that. NFL stuff. I typically don't pick up the Ravens. No offense to you guys. You're just slow sellers. Looks like this is the end of the row for women's jackets. Let's go ahead and scan some men's shoes and jackets and we should be out of here. So, probably about 15 minutes total in this store. All right, Ralph Lauren. That shoe looks pretty worn, so I'm going to pass on that. Let's see what else we can find. Another low cost of goods and high profit returns are hats. If you can find the right hat, especially sports hats and vintage hats, you can definitely make some good profit off of it. But so far, these hats uh look not at the greatest in terms of reselling potential. Actually, this caught my eye. It's still brand new with the tag. It is strawberry shortcake, which is a pretty great uh brand to sell, but they're asking $5.99 for it. Ah, wish it was a little cheaper. That is pretty cool, though. I don't see those very often. All right, the last section we're going to look through is this men's blazers and suits. I'm just going to do a quick glance. I know I might be missing a few things, but I'm just trying to try to feel for the texture and look at brands. But one thing that definitely catches my eye is this. It's a International Concepts medium size. Looks like has a really cool design. I looked it up. It's a robin egg print is apparently is what it's called. It is my size, but I would never be caught dead wearing this, especially in clubic. This is the first time I've ever seen this. Two tags on this. I wish it was a cheaper price. There's no so comps. The only listed one is at $62. I'm going to put this in my maybe pile. So, I do maybe piles. I hang them up here. Hang them up my cart. And before I make a final decision, I look up each one and look at the sell through rate, which I will teach you guys here soon. H&M. Huh. So, it looks like this jacket that we picked up, I was able to look at the comps now. It looks like it goes about $30 to $40 and they're only pricing it at $959. So, I'm going to put this in my yes pile. Now, I also found this teal blue Northace jacket. With no tag here in the middle, it indicates that this is a reversible jacket and the tags will be inside the pocket. Looks like it's a girls size 1416 and this also goes for about $30. So, I'm going to put this in my cart as a yes. We got another Northace jacket here. Let's see what the comps are for this. So, it looks like a similar style of this jacket only went for about $14 on eBay. If they're pricing it at 12 bucks, I'm going to do a pass on this and put it back on the shelf. I personally had high hopes for this jacket, but looks like it's got a tear right here. It's got a stain right here. And it only goes for about $14 on eBay. It's really stained and banged up, so it's going to be passed on that. Uh, looks really dirty, too. Look at all that hair on it as well. So, going to put this back on the shelf. We're also going to put these two blazers back on the shelf. I don't think I sell or motivated enough to sell these blazers fast enough. So, putting these back on the shelf. These shoes stood out to me. I thought they were pretty cool running shoes, but looks like Goodwill could not decide on what the price is at. 50 bucks for eight bucks. Either way, I think I'm going to pass. I only go for about 25 or 30. Looks like these are Robert Wayne Cruz 12s with a cross design on the front and the back here. And they're asking 10 bucks for it. It's a pretty cool design. Only goes for about $30 with a really slow sellrough rate. So, I'm going to pass on that. >> Yeah. >> There was no price on this plush. >> Yeah, they're 99 cents. >> 99 cents? Sure, I'll take it. Thank you. I almost forgot about my bike. Here you go. >> That's a good deal. with Christmas. >> Back tire needs to be fixed up, but it's not hard. >> You too. >> All right. Thank you so much. >> Thank you. You have a great day. >> Thank you. About to make two trips. She brought that bike out for me. So kind. Little do you guys know that I already have two bikes in here. It's going to be quite the uh Tetris game to fit another bike in here. I should have unloaded all my bikes beforehand, but I'll show you guys a trick. You might be thinking, "How in the world are you going to fit another bike in this trunk, Tim? It is so packed full of random junk and stuff from thrift shops and two extra bikes. But let me show you a trick. This here has a quick release. So all I have to do is pull this down, spin it around, and unfortunately I have to release the brakes yet again. I just fixed it in the store, but releasing the brakes right here. I can pop out this wheel just like that. Stack it on top. Kaboom. And bike frame can go right on top. Just like that. Done. And there we have it, guys. We finished the very first stop. In total, we spent $53, but $16 was from the Instant Pot, which we're going to keep. In terms of business expenses and how much we spent for flipping for reselling, we only spent about $37. And just this bike alone will give me about $60. And we have the two jackets. Conservatively, let's just estimate about $15 in profit. That brings us up to about $80 in potential profit so far. All right, we made it to another Goodwill. This is one of my favorite Goodwills here in Louisville. The reason I like this grill so much is is because it usually has really good quality furniture and clothing. So, let's check it out. Oh, right off the bat, another bike catches my eye. Tim, you got to stop buying bikes. It's taking up way too much space. But they're asking $50 for this. It's a pretty good brand. I think it needs some cleaning up for sure. It's really dusty, but the tires look good and decent. It might need some new handlebar grips, but I think I can sell this for about 120 or 150 once I clean it up really nicely. So, I'm going to go and take this tag off. I did not expect today to be a day of buying bikes. Uh, I'm already kind of running out of storage space, but I can't pass a potential pocket with this. Just a little dusty. It's not rusty. That should be a t-shirt. So, already right when I walk through the door, another $70 to $80 potential profit off a $50 buy. Look, this is the easy flip right here. 30 bucks for this right here. You can probably post this easily for 50, 60 bucks on Facebook Marketplace. I don't have the space for it right now, but somebody else should definitely grab that. >> I see you again. >> Hey, >> how's it going? >> I just picked this up, man. >> Oh, nice. >> I like this. It's cool. >> Okay, nice. What do you think that's worth? Uh, >> they're they're pretty they're pretty hard to sell. They're like 10 bucks. Yeah. >> Yeah. I don't sell the cases very often. Yeah. >> It's cute though. >> Yeah. See what else there is. >> Maybe I need a bike rack. 10 bucks. Not too bad. >> In the past 3 weeks, >> you found a lot of toys here. >> Been a lot coming out. >> Nice. People donating all their uh old toys cuz of Christmas. >> Yes. >> Oh, this is interesting. An old FisherPrice castle. I know Fisher Price is definitely coming back with those little figures. A lot of people doing whatnot shows with the figures. But this is something I should look up. the what? Play Family Castle. So, looking at the comps on eBay, this goes for about 35 to 40 bucks and they're asking only four bucks for it. >> Hard to sell. >> I know they're kind of hard to sell cuz it's bulky, but I think it'll be a cool piece to add to a showcase. >> Now, what what's what's the the thing? What is it involved in? Like, >> uh it's Fisher Price. So, little those little people. >> Man, I had a hard time with Fisher with with the people. I don't But that I do. >> Yeah, the big pieces. I think if it was complete, it would have been $200 on eBay with all the figures and the dragons and the knights. So, that's still pretty cool. I see a few video games, but they're really just like cheap sports games. Got Madden here. I don't really like to look at DVDs anymore. I know some people sell a Disney DVD as lots, but to me, it's not worth the time cuz I don't know, just too small margins. Tigers forever. I saw an antiques book up here somewhere. Antiques price guide. Interesting. All right, we are going to move on to the men's clothing and shoes. >> Oh, this is a good brand to look out for. Patagonia. They're asking $11 for it. So, this is going to maybe pile. We have to check the comps and sell through, but it makes me a little curious why somebody has it on the edge of the rack. Maybe somebody had put it back. Old Reebok right here. I'm feeling for fleece and soft items or even like puffer puffer down jackets kind of like this style. Those are what's selling quick for me right now. Not bad. Might be reversible. It is a reversible one. And is it down nylon polyester? But still it might be worth more than two bucks. Looking for jerseys. Looking for brand name items. I mean, Wrangler Pro Snap items like this with Pro Snap usually sells pretty well for me. So, we'll check it out. Here's a good brand right here. And it's also Pro Snap. I don't know what's the deal about Pro Snap, but they sell what 10 bucks maybe pile. Oh, this one's pretty new. It's offseason right now for these kind of stuff. But for $10, looks pretty cool, but I'm going to put it back. It's going to be too slow for me right now. Oh, interesting pattern for this. 100% silk. Um, looks like it's got a couple stains though. So, silk is hard to wash in my opinion and they're asking 10 bucks. So, it's not worth the risk even though it's a really cool design. Brooks Brother is a good brand to look out for, but I'm pretty picky about what I pick up for them. Oh, Brooks. So, cycling stuff is popular and it does pretty well for me. It's I mean, it sits for a little bit, but the margins could be good. Where's the tag? Here it is. Oh, about $10. It's a maybe pile. They can go for about 20 to 30, so we'll see. I feel like I'm walking past a lot of money here with the jeans, but I don't feel like scanning through them each individually. I like to go for high dollar quick selling items. Um, let's see. Oh, this looks pretty interesting. 10 bucks though. This belongs in a dumpster. What are the odds you think this TV stand sells for $10? I've sold a few of these Pelican shoes. I mean, they were a huge fad, but they've kind of dropped off. But at $10, it's a maybe cuz typically they sell for about 25. Up first at 45. And looking at comps, I was right on the money. It's about $35. Uh, looks like the sell through rate, so only two. So, and the sell through rates is pretty slow. Is this something you would have picked up? I saw another shoe down here, too. It's by Brooks, which is a good brand. It's got a really interesting print to it as well. It's a Launch 9. It's kind of dirty in the insole, but that's easy to wash. Time to check out the comps on this guy. So, it looks like this is selling consistently for about 25 to 40. Let's just see what the price at. $10. I think this is worth the gamble for me. It is interesting enough and fast selling enough for me to gamble on it. So, adding it to the cart. Typically don't like to sell kitchen appliances, but Kitchen A is a really good brand to look out for. This chef's chopper is only going for $5.99. On eBay, it ranges between 25 to 30. I don't think I'm going to take a gamble on it, but this pink color will definitely be a cool seller. This is interesting. Records me from friends throughout the day. Locker and message machine. That is such a '9s or ' 80s item. Before cell phones came out, it's fourth period. You know what your friends are up to. Now that there's Express it, you won't miss any of the important news at school. Wow. Before texting, before smartphones. This is from 1987. Locker message machine. That's high-tech back then. Let's check it out, guys. This is really cool. I wonder how much this goes for, though. I think it uses cassette tapes as well. I don't even know how this thing opens. Eject button, maybe. Oh, here's what looks like there's a message, a cassette tape right in here. That's super cool. I wonder if anybody from the8s own this if you were in high school in the '8s, did you even have one of this? I guess the modern application for this would be to be used maybe in your kids' room to avoid having phones. After doing some more research, it only goes for $15 and it's missing these three activators. Looks like it only has one of these little button things. Um, as you see in the front picture here. Uh, so I'm going to pass on it even though it looks really cool. And if I had found this at yard sale for like five bucks, I probably would have taken it, but putting it back. All right, we are back in the plush section. Let's see what we can find. Things are dropping. I don't like it when they stack it like this. It's hard to dig >> off the bat. I don't see anything. >> Yeah, I don't feel like digging or making another mess. So, we're going to skip this section for today. Oh, this is really cool. But for $10, somebody who loves cats will love this, though. Actually, my neighbor loves cats and she's having surgery. So, this might be something to lift up her spirits by 10 Strawberry Street. I'm going to keep it in my cart and text my wife to see if that would be a good gift. >> Oh, >> did it freeze up? >> Yeah, I've got to log in and start all over. >> Okay, no worries. >> I'm I'm new at this, so just bear with me here. >> No worries. Thank you. Starting to stack up at 75 bucks already. They're probably going to cross the $100 barrier for these, but it's fine. >> Bicycle. >> Yeah, the bike feels pretty good, though. >> It's Eddie Bower jackets you found. That's a good deal. All right, your total is 11143. Thank you so much for visiting the Northfield Goodwill. >> All right, thank you. >> We definitely spent a lot more than I expected, but I'll definitely break even with just the bike. And the rest of this stuff here in this cart would just be profit. Minusing the $10 cat thing, which is a gift for our neighbor, we spent $100. So, this bike alone would help us break even and be in the green. This time I sell for about 20. So, we're at $15 in profit. And I'll say about $7 in profit off of each of these shirts. So, 14, let's see, about $30 in profit. $40 in profit. 40. Let's just say $20 in profit. So, 60. And this one I want to guess about $20 in profit as well. So we're about $80 in profit. So that makes our total at $160 in potential profit out of 500. So we got three more stores to hit. Let's see if we can keep this up. Now we've got the fun job of loading up another bike into the car. This video should be named how many bikes can we fit in a van. This will be our fifth our fourth bike actually. And yet again we're doing the same trick popping off the wheel and taking this frame with the back wheel right inside. might be asking, Tim, is it worth it? Was all this labor and effort put into fixing and buying and cleaning up bikes? And my answer is yes, because I was able to graduate debtree out of college and pay my way through grad school by flipping bikes just like this. So, flipping bikes is pretty dear to my heart and honestly pretty much pretty fun for me to fix something up, make it better, and sell for a profit. And what most people don't realize is that a lot of the job of a reseller is cleaning, fixing, shipping, posting, and organizing it. So, taking all that time into consideration, making a hundred bucks like this is honestly a lot easier to me than lug chugging away at hours at a part-time job or an hourly wage job. All right, guys. Now, we are fully loaded back up. We're going to head to the next location, which is about also another 10 minutes away. And it's 12:00 p.m. in the afternoon. And I think we've hit the sweet spot of when it's the best time to go thrifting. Uh between 12:00 to 3:00 p.m., in my opinion, is the best time to go thrifting. So, let's see what we can find here. Right now, we are at $160 out of $500 goal. So, hopefully this Goodwill can get us past that halfway point of $250. Let's see what they have to offer in these electronics. I'm not really specialized in heating, curling irons, and stuff like that, but I know some other resellers. Ow, let me see myself on this corner. Tuckers for 10 bucks. That's going to be a pass for me. And right behind us is the plus section. I got some pretty big Squishallows. Hard passes on those Imaginext items. They go for decent money, especially the figures. If you can find them in the big lot, especially at yard sale, uh those would be worth buying, but looks like there's not much in terms of toys here today. I'm going to do a quick glance at this book section and media section. We got some box sets up here for $6. It's not too bad, but no margins. I thought this was interesting, a book collection, but it's only eight bucks on eBay. And these series are also classic. If you can find these series at a yard sale for about a dollar each, uh they can go for pretty good money, but you want to have the complete set. Here's Diary of Wimpy Kids as well. It's pretty popular book series for kids along with Dog Man. And here's a quick one minute scan. I don't think I saw anything in terms of reselling. Now, this is one of the Goodwills that I think has pretty decent furniture. Uh here is something these nightstands for 16 bucks. Not too bad. There's is potential uh for resale, but I don't have the space for it. Say you bought both of them for 30 bucks, you probably get 60 out of it and double your money. Especially something like this, too. This is actually asking a bit high on the price, but it looks vintage in terms of the way it has its handles and design. But again, some work is missing a piece of glass right there. I just found another Instant Pot. I bought one for personal use um cuz my wife wants two of them. This in terms of reselling Instant Pots, if you can find these at the Goodwill bins, just this top alone can go for about 20 to 35 20 to $25. Looks like this one's more complete than what I just bought. Let me tell you what, this is something I did not expect to see at a Goodwill. At first glance, I thought this was like a queensiz or fulls size bed frame, especially with these things right here. Everything's wrapped up. You can see some of the wiring and these little knobs made me curious enough to look it up, especially for the price that Gable was asking. $800. Apparently, this is a high-end brand of an artistic balloon, I'm guessing, for sewing. But man, who would donate this? That is crazy. So far, we're about 5 to 10 minutes in the store and we have not found a single thing for our cart. Our cart is still empty. I'm looking at shoes, getting a little desperate. Mudlux. I feel like that's a low-end brand. Life is Good is actually a decent brand with a high sell through rate, especially these Crusher t-shirts. They come about $10 or so, but they're asking five bucks. There's just no really no margins for this. Northspace t-shirts don't sell as well as their jackets do, and they're asking five bucks for it as well. So, let's just do a quick scan of these t-shirts and see what else we can find. So, we did our toys, we did our plushes, we're looking at hats, looking at shoes and jackets. Those are the three categories or those are the categories I like to sell in cuz those are typically faster for me. Sometimes if I'm in a rush, I look for things that have brand new tags. But this is $6 and a slow sell through rate. I'm going to pass on it at this time. I'm not that desperate though. Um, but definitely feeling the pressure of trying to find some heavy hitters cuz we are only at 160 out of 500. Oh, LLB. Let's see. $9. All right, that's going to be in the maybe pile, especially with these snap buttons. I feel like l it has to be a certain style for it to have a better sell through. If you want to camouflage in a museum, wear this, I guess. Oh, this looks like a old biking jersey. Interesting. I do like selling jerseys and cycling jerseys, but I'm not sure how well this will sell. Check the price. Six bucks. High risk, though. And this inner maybe pile. I try not to put my cart here in the middle aisle if it's too narrow. Learn from my mistake. I bought out a huge box full of this universal thread brand new jeans at a yard sale for $2 each. I'm still sitting on it after 7 to 8 months. So, avoid this brand, guys. But what's really funny is that Goodwill is charging $759 for it and the clearance price was $7.56 for it. So, Goodwill out here is saying 3 cents over clearance price. Sounds good. Honestly, I think one of the secrets of reselling is to always stay curious. You just never know. Like this nun bush, I've never heard of it. I looked it up. It's worth about 15 bucks and they're selling for eight bucks. So, just always be curious. Whatever stands out to you, look that up and maybe you'll find some potential profit. I honestly hate seeing 32 degrees heat because a lot of times their texture feels like North Face or Columbia. It's such a cheap low selling, low sellrough rate uh brand. There's a Northace that looks interesting. 11 bucks. I don't think this would be worth more than that. So, medical devices or medical stuff sometimes does well, especially for nursing. Awesome. But this is a stethoscope. There's no brain on it. There are some high-end ones that can go for the money. This looks interesting. I've done well with Adidas before, especially like tracksuits or track jackets. Chaps denim. That's a maybe. Oh, here's a camo one. Liberty. That looks promising. All right, we are end of the jackets. So, now let's do some research before we move out of the aisle. And right here is Liberty Rugged Outdoor Gear. So I just typed that into eBay. Do coveralls. And you want to scroll through under here to look at the sold listings. There's 74 sold. And let's see how many are currently listed at 59. So pretty good high sell through rate over 100%. And it looks like it's selling between 20 to 20 to $40. Um so it's going to be kind of risky and heavy too. Let's see how much you're asking for it. They're asking $12 for it. So, man, look at this. It's only $25. This looks like it does have like a vintage tag feel to it. It's more paper than than plastic. So, looks like it's about the same price. This one looks pretty similar to ours right here. And so does this one. Let me see what size this is. Okay, this is a size 46. Was a larger size, which is more promising. And this one says vintage 30 to 40. So it's about $42 instead. I think I might take the gamble on this. It'll be kind of fun to post though, so I'll consider that. So I don't think I'm going to take the gamble on this $10 Nike polo. So I'm going to put that back as well. Well, that was pretty fun. We did end up with two items. This coverall and this will be sweater. Each about 10 bucks and hope make about 30 to 40 bucks in total. As I wouldn't even lie, I just saw somebody put this back. This looks pretty cool. $10 though Xbox steering wheel. It is branded by Horry 005. It is missing the pedals, but looks like comps can go anywhere between 45 to 50 if it was complete. But personally, I hate shipping big items like that and testing those. This takes takes up too much time for such a little profit. Some employee just stocked this as well. True Religion sling bag. Looks like it's brand new, so asking 10 bucks for it. Looks like we might have a winner here, guys. It's about $35. I like this brand, so I think I'm going to take it. Especially when it's brand new. It should sell pretty fast. All right, that's three items. And I think with these three items, we can cross that $200 barrier. Awesome. Almost halfway there, guys. >> Kill Spencer. Never heard of it. She said this is like $1,000. >> $8.95. I said, just looked that up. >> $80, huh? Wow. >> Yeah. So, like this is a dollar. Oh, my husband likes backpack, but see like No, ma'am. I have to ring it up. I'm sorry. >> Wow. $1,000 for real. That's crazy. 600 for the some of the other ones. >> That's a pretty cool find. Yeah, looks like that specific model goes used for about 200 on uh eBay. >> Yeah, >> that's pretty crazy. I've honestly never heard of that brand before. So, that's something new I learned. With that stop, we cross the $200 line in terms of profit. Be sure to stay tuned to check out the next two Goodos. And stay tuned for our journey to see if we can reach that $500 goal. It's going to be pretty hard. $300 extra dollars. Can we do it? We made it to Goodbo number four. But honestly, I feel like I'm kind of struggling with this challenge, and I'm tempted to cheat just by going to the Goodwill bins later because I know I can easily make $100 an hour there. That could be an idea for the next video. But as for now, let's see how close we can get to this $500 in potential profit. Could I go ahead and see that Northace jacket real quick? Thank you. You're welcome. >> The design of this jacket definitely caught my attention, and the brand, which is a North Face, it's kind of dirty down here. And it looks like comps are only about 35 or $40. So, I'm going to pass on there. Thank you so much. I see Hadoo shoes all the time at the Goodwill bins. They have a decent selection of Air Jordans, but I don't really mess with those. They typically have video games in this section right here, but there's none here today. Books. Ah, right here. Sports titles, though. Their furniture section seems a little bare today as well. Let's check out these hats real quick. Got a Clemson hat. Here we go. Here's some more men's jackets I feel like we could try to score with. Got a Vans world map. Seems promising, but let's see what they're asking. They're asking almost 20 bucks for it. Even though this looks really cool, the comps on this are only about $22 on eBay. So, not much room for profit at all, but still a really cool pair of shoes. Never seen those before. It's a Vans era Save Our World map. Uh, but got to put it back. What are your thoughts on Goodwill pricing jackets at $159? I mean, if I were to go to the department store, if they had a clearance, I could probably find one brand new for about 15 bucks. This stitches looks pretty cool, but for $10, I'm going to have to definitely check it out for stains. I already see one right there. It looks like comps for this is only about $25. It's a slower seller. It's got 10 bucks. I'm going to put it back even though it's pretty cool. There is still potential here though. All right, we're going to check the toys to see if we can find anything here, guys. So far, nothing great. Let's see. There's a pound puppy. Squishallows galore. pretty tacky. H $10 though. $10. I'm going to put it back. >> So, I just found this Brooks Brother red fleece. The size medium. They're asking $659 for it. There is >> They ask for me. >> There is some potential on this. Looks like it comes for about $25. But it is a little bit worn. So, I might have to wash it out and see if I can revive it just a little tad more to make it shine. So, we found something at least. Man, just as I was about to give up, I found this really cool Nike jacket and a ton of really cool nursing scrubs. When looking for hospital scrubs, the brand you want to look out for is Figs. Those can go for lots of good money. And it looks like some old nurse probably retired or something has donated all her scrubs. You've got Frosty the Snowman here. Let's see what else we got. You got this old style monkey, probably from like the early 2000s, which is super cool. But the best part are these character ones. Jurassic World. You got Disney Mickey. This one looks pretty cool. Like a retro design. It kind of pops out more. Peanuts. I think this is pretty classic. Asking $6 for it. I think this has the most potential. Oh, they slide off quite easily. You got this Hello Kitty one, which is a beach one. I know a lot of Hello Kitty stuff like Sanrio goes for good money. And they're only asking, let's see, They're asking eight bucks for a dog. Oh, that's kind of high, actually. We're going to have to rethink this, guys. Got a Disney, we need the Poo One, Little Mermaid, and Simba. Simba is also $6. So, if I were to take a gamble on these, cuz I couldn't find exact match matches, I would probably take this Simba one and this Disney one. All right, we're going to pick these two. Up here at the sweaters, I also found this. It stood out to me because it looked really clean because it's actually brand new. So, it looks like retail price was 50 bucks and good was asking 10 bucks for it. I probably make about 10 to 15 bucks off of this selling as a brand new condition. Is a youth XL. So, that's not too bad. Looks like we found a couple things at least. >> This one? >> Yeah, please. Thank you. >> You're welcome. That's awesome. Looks Brother was half off as well, too. Unexpected. >> 5178. >> That was a pretty clutch find right at the counter. Now, Michael Kors bag goes for about 45 bucks on eBay. So, it's a decent find. I think we're about at $250 in profit margin now. uh after spending quite a bit of money. But we got one more final stop. Let's see how close we can get to $500. We made it to our last and final Goodwill. Everything banks on this Goodwill. Will it provide us an extra $250 in potential profit for us to reach that goal? Let's find out, guys. Oh, $25. Oh, man. This is actually a pretty good potential. It is one of those step two wagons. They're selling for 15 bucks. Typically during the summer time, I'll pick these up and sell them for about 25 or 30. But since it's the winter time, it's missing this canopy right here. And it's pretty banged up. I'm going to pass on it. But these can go for I could probably double my money with this purchase. >> This looks cool, but a lot of times when I buy cassette stuff, they just don't they end up not working. Looks like this is a Fisher MC 615. I looked it up, but there's no exact models, but looks like similar listings go for about $80 to $200. Price range is way too wide for me to gamble $15 on this, and it's heavier item. A lot of it have been selling for parts on eBay as well, so I'm going to pass on that. Another cool thing I saw is down here. I love the retro colors on this stereo. Oh, I finally see the brand. It's a J C Penney brand. Interesting. Another cool find I saw was this Pirates of the Caribbean uh corded phone. Corded phone for five bucks. This looks like it's something from the early 2000s pirate trim phone. This pirate trim phone only looks like it goes for $8 to $15. So, I'm going to be pass on that as well. I just tal. >> And with that, I think it's time to end our challenge. We didn't quite make it to $500, but we did have fun shopping. We spent a total of 4 hours shopping at different Goodwills, going around town. I think I went a little bit slower because I was recording, but because I was explaining things to you guys and trying to teach you guys, I spent four hours, I probably spent another hour and a half processing and listing the items that I've bought. And so, a total about six hours with a potential profit of close to $300. I think it's still well worth my time. What do you guys think? Even though I didn't complete my challenge, this video is meant to show you that there's opportunity out there, guys. There's so much potential for reselling if you just take about 15, 20 minutes to stop by Goodwill and flip through clothing or find things such as video games or toys. There's so much potential out there. And what challenge should I do next? I'm thinking maybe 5 hours at the Goodwill bins. So, follow us for more cool content just like this.

I set out to make $500 at 5 different Goodwills — it didn’t matter how much I spent, the goal was profit. My strategy? Start in the plush section, then hit furniture, and finish with clothes. Along the way, I faced challenges like high prices and low sell-through rates, but I also found some heavy hitters — including a Giant bike and a vintage Univega road bike that really saved the run. In the end, I made $250 out of my $500 goal. Not the $500 I hoped for, but it’s proof that reselling can be a solid side hustle — with potential to replace a $15–$20/hr job if you know what to look for. 💡 In this video, you’ll learn: -How I pick items to buy at Goodwill -My step-by-step reselling strategy -Realistic expectations for flipping items Whether you’re a reseller or just love Goodwill treasure hunts, this video shows what works, what doesn’t, and how to spot items that actually sell. #GoodwillChallenge #reseller #Reselling #SideHustle #ThriftFlip #GoodwillFinds #ResellerTips #VintageBikes #GarageSaleFinds #FlippingItems
