New Iran War “DEBT CLOCK” Proves US Can’t Afford To Keep Fighting Iran! w/ Dennis Kucinich

You know how they have the debt clock for the US debt? They have that kind of counter and Thomas Massie wears it on his lapel everywhere he goes. Well, now they have this just in. US military says over 50,000 troops, 200 fighter jets, two aircraft carriers and bombers are involved in the operation against Iran. This is costing the American taxpayer a fortune every single day. And here's the that they actually have live. It's so we're up to 2 billion 1119 million some odd dollars so far. That's just so far. So what do you what do you make out of uh all the money we're spending over there? And now they actually have this debt clock uh about how much money we're spending. What do you say to that? >> This war cannot be sustained economically. The United States uh is in serious trouble with a $ 38.8 trillion debt. A good part of it, Jimmy, connected to these illegal wars, which the US has prosecuted around the world. The US is preparing a $1.5 trillion annual budget for the next uh US budget. So from a financial standpoint, this idea of putting everything on the national credit card for a decision that doesn't involve our national security and it's counter to it. We're doing this for another country. This is not America that's at risk. And if the other country is at risk, it's because of their own misdeeds, not because of and our complicity in those misdeeds, of course. So economically, look, there were three FT5s that went down. the other day. Each one of them fully equipped cost $185 million. The aircraft carriers that are in the region cost 13 billion and four and a total of $40 billion each to fully equip. So we're acting like we've got endless amounts of money, but we don't have money for health care. We don't have money appropriate money for education. we people aren't getting, you know, fair wages. We see uh federal employees that have been rifted or fired for what. Uh there's the the the economic aspect of this and certainly the price of oil will go up and so will everything else. I don't care. You could put all the insurance you want. Jimmy and former Congressman Dennis Kucinich contrast this staggering expense with the $38.8 trillion national debt and the lack of funding for domestic needs like healthcare and education. Jimmy says that these wars are economically unsustainable and are being fought for other countries rather than for American national security.
