Analysis Summary
Ask yourself: “Did I notice what this video wanted from me, and did I decide freely to say yes?”
Performed authenticity
The deliberate construction of "realness" — confessional tone, casual filming, strategic vulnerability — designed to lower your guard. When someone appears unpolished and honest, you evaluate their claims less critically. The spontaneity is rehearsed.
Goffman's dramaturgy (1959); Audrezet et al. (2020) on performed authenticity
Worth Noting
Positive elements
- This video provides a realistic look at the logistical challenges of managing a large household and the psychological benefits of organizing one's environment.
Be Aware
Cautionary elements
- The use of 'performed authenticity' where the creators acknowledge their privilege (brand gifts, million-dollar home) only to pivot back to a 'relatable' struggle, which can mask the underlying commercial nature of the content.

Time to declutter this ridiculously cluttered million-dollar house that we bought. When you put all this stuff in a million dollar house, you >> got too excited, Elena. >> Joe, half the stuff in here is yours. [music] >> If you don't let me dance into the New Year logo. >> No, I'll I'll uh I'll do this. >> Okay. Ready? [laughter] >> [laughter] >> Welcome back to our channel, guys. Today we are going to be doing a huge decluttering of our house featuring Joe. He's going to get out these black trash bags that he also loves can do and tear apart our house from top to bottom and just throwing away stuff. Just trashing it. >> Why am I featured later? because you're the one doing the dirty work, getting your hands in and, you know, rubbing it and dubbing it and picking it up and throwing it away. >> Welcome to Maisley featuring Elena. >> Okay, so we have so many things like we've been living here for what, six, almost 6 years. Five, seven years. >> I think it's like seven. >> Is it really seven? Wait, what? Oh my gosh. We've been living here in [music] this house longer than we were living in the old house. >> Wow. >> Yeah. >> Really? >> Yes. Wow. Awesome. That means we've been living here longer than when we've been married. This is the place we've lived the longest. >> Yeah, we've been living together the longest year. >> Okay, so we've collected so much stuff, you guys. And I feel like Joe's anxious nerves just get like this like I just feel like I just want to declutter and clean the house. You know when you're just walking through your house and it's like dirty or just [music] grimy or just nasty or there's just visual mess. It feels like you're walking in mud. [music] You know what I'm saying? Like you're just trying to make some eggs in the morning time but you're just walking through this visual mess [music] of just stuff. >> Okay, girls. It's declutter day. You look different. >> Me? >> It's underneath your eyes. >> Your nose is so rough. >> Is it because you don't have on >> lashes? Edges. edges. No, that can't. No, you look not wearing any lashes. >> What? What? >> Like it's not like concealer, but it's like >> Okay, you have you have makeup on. >> Barely. >> Yeah, I can [laughter] tell. >> Yep. >> You look so cute with no um whatever you did with no edges. Yes, you do. Anyway, today's declutter day here. You need to fill this up with trash. >> Oh my gosh. I had a dream that I walked into my room and everything was gone. >> Perfect. [laughter] That's a sign that today. >> Yeah, just that one little bag. That's >> clothes in there, too. >> I'm going to say no clothes. If you need a clothes bag, fill up a different bag and this will be your items. Go ahead and fill that up. I'm counting on you, Arizona. No, by the end of the day. I'm writing [music] my name on here remind me this is a sp their bag and they have to do this chore and we haven't really ever done like a real declutter. Like I try to declutter things usually on a quarterly basis, but that's like my room and like the kitchen and stuff like that, but the other areas of the house we really haven't like really gone through and picked out things that we don't need anymore. >> Yeah. I think what it is is that we haven't collectively decluttered. It's like we declutter like parts of the home, little pieces, but it's more of on like an individual basis. >> This is the perfect time to do it, you guys. You know, new year, new perspective, old things got to go away. Behold, she shall birth something new. >> Yeah. Okay. So, especially since we are trying to move on out of here, like the last thing I want to do is have to shift through all these items while we're trying to move and trying to decide what we're going to throw away and stuff. So, um, also honest tip, being a YouTuber, you get so much stuff from brands and so, you know, you could get furniture from brands, TV, toys, electronics. And so we have a lot of stuff in our house from brand deals that we did and we haven't gotten like we don't necessarily need anymore in this part of our life. And so like we need to get rid of some of that stuff. So the first thing we decided on doing is just going and throwing away stuff as our base start place. So we're going to start with the refrigerators. We're just going to throw away all the clutter and stuff out of the refrigerators because it, you know, there's old food in there from Christmas and we just need space in the refrigerator. It's just nasty. Oh no, there's nothing in there from Thanksgiving. [laughter] >> We have opposite ideas of what how we should start first, but let's just start with the refrigerators throwing everything away. Our objective is to throw away and get rid of at least I feel like we can get rid of at least a thousand items, not including food. glad to see you here. Hey, we are doing operation declutter. You know what that means? >> Throwing the ladies in the freezing. >> It means It means fill that bag up with as much of your junk as you can. Our [music] lives are getting too complicated right now. >> Half junk. >> You sure? >> Yeah. >> All right. Well, good luck with your decluttering, though. Find you're going to have to find something. Fill it up with stuff, okay? Stuff that you want to get rid of. Stuff that maybe you don't really care too much about. Maybe stuff that you haven't used in a long time. No, it I mean, it might be trash or it might be stuff that you just want to give away. Maybe it's not valuable to you. >> I don't want to give away any of my stuff. I want to sell my stuff. >> You want to sell your stuff? Okay. Well, stuff that you want to give away. Maybe it's trash. Maybe it's stuff that you want to sell, whatever it might be. Okay, >> in our decluttering process, we're going to number one just look for stuff that we just want thrown away. I feel like just that will just clear up so much more space just by doing that. >> Just [music] get the surface level trash out the way. >> Yeah. And then we were kind of debating if we were going to clean first or organize first or >> Mhm. I think we should do like a general tidying up. >> Yeah. Okay. Then we'll do a general tidying up, I guess. Um, but >> so it's the fake clean. >> Yeah, we'll fake clean. And then again, we're going to go through room by room and decide on things we can then get away or give away to other people that we don't necessarily know that's trash right away, but we don't >> that can [music] be valuable to someone else possibly. >> Exactly. So, um, I already see like 20 things in here that don't need to be in here. Like that bed over there. There's three beds [music] sitting right over there in that corner that we literally have not touched. I think we should [music] declutter. Just generally declutter like just like you're saying just generally throw stuff away >> and then from there I think it'll give us a better perspective [music] of how a room is intended to be used and then we'll probably just throw away more stuff. So >> yeah. Well, let me tell you guys what the actual problem is. Actual problem is we don't have enough spaces in our home. We we have too many shared spaces which I love. I love being close to Joe. I love being close to the kids. But like there's legit basically what I'm saying is that there's not enough space to store things. So everything is getting cluttered and jumbled up. And I think that's our major problem. It's not necessarily like things are dirty. [music] It's just not enough room to store everything that we need to in different spaces. >> Well, can you give me an example of that? >> Of what? >> Of like because we don't have enough space. >> I don't have anywhere to put Butter's clothes. >> Yeah. But >> like literally nowhere. >> But here here's what I really think is the issue. I think the issue is that because we have shared spaces, it takes away the utility of how it's supposed to be used. We have a twocar garage, but we don't have cars in here because we have stuff in here. And because we have stuff in here, it takes away the utility of actually using it as a garage where you have cars and you have stuff to do stuff with your cars >> or like even like using it as a second space as like a playroom or something. So, and it's just too many people. There's too many bikes. There's the obviously garages aren't meant to hold 21 bites in and then like three refrigerators and uh you know so many boxes of clothes and holiday stuff. So all right. Anyway, enough talking. Let's get to it. >> Hey guys, I have a special surprise for you. [music] >> You guys want to know what it is? >> Yes. >> Here you go. >> Here you go. Now, do you guys have any idea what those are? You do? >> You do? >> Now, what are those Trader Joe's bags for? >> Snacks. >> No. No, they're not for snacks. So, what we're going to do with these trash bags, I mean, with these bags, these Trader Joe's bags, is we're going to fill them up with our junk and our stuff. All right. So, what that means is that any of your stuff that you don't want to keep anymore or any trash that [music] you have that's yours, you're going to fill them up all the way to the top. As much as you can. Okay. >> To the top. And I guess >> Yeah, you can fill it up as much as you can. As much as you want. That means this bag you fill it up all the way to the tippy tippy top. >> You want me to help you? You don't need me to help you. >> Uh, I don't think I need help right now. >> No. Okay. >> So, I got a head start a little bit already. I started to empty out some of these refrigerators back here. If we can just get these refrigerators emptied out to where, you know, the like let's say this refrigerator is for me and Elena, this one is for the kids. And that's just kind of like the storage freezer. If we can kind of just nail that down, then I think it'll be a lot easier to just fill these refrigerators up the way they should be. >> What you mean for me and Elena? I thought this was my refrigerator. >> No, this is our refriger. You have your own refrigerator in in the room. That's like your personal before. >> You have your personal stack. Yeah. I put all like the ingredients that I cook with and stuff in this one. Look, take a look in there. It's very purposeful. >> I just thought I had my own refrigerator. >> So, all like the meats down here. We have greens and, you know, choppy ingredients. And then these are like bottled things or drinks. And then more bottled things. And yeah, and then we have um more just more stuff. >> I don't know. Here's all the coffees that Joe's made me over the past three days that I never drank. Well, no. These two are mine. Those are mine. That one is yours. >> So, you already did that one. >> Uh, I I lightly went through it. I didn't really actually go through it. >> Mom, stop. >> But now I did like the initial hungry. >> Just a general, you know, run through. You know, one thing that I wish we had was like, you know, one of those compactors to easily throw away um cardboard or just like crush stuff. That'll be really handy to have because like we, you know, when you go to Costco, they always give you like cardboard boxes or when you order stuff from Amazon, they always like they use too much packing materials. You can imagine if we just have like one or two hauls from Costco or or a shipment of like Amazon stuff comes in. When you're trying to shove that stuff on in the recycling bin, like it just gets too much, you know? That's an investment that we should have. This came from Costco, but it's like one of those like dense, durable cardboard boxes. I heard that you can put some water on it and then it'll easily crumple up, but who really has the time to do that with so many boxes? Okay. Oh, do you want some uh spice cider? >> No, it's not expired. It's yummy. This onion is It's okay, but I don't want to keep it. Eggs, broccoli, carrots. griiness. This is the worst when you have stuff covered up with aluminum foil and you can never figure out what it is. You want some uh milk, some punch? >> Yeah. >> I'm not really organized right now, but I do like to at least put it in a general space so that when I go back, it's not too crazy looking. Okay, this can go inside. This is uh whose drink is this? Coldressed juice perishable. Keep refrigerated. Do you want any grapes? These grapes are really good. Okay, Amaya had gone through this freezer already. So, luckily, we don't really need to do a whole lot right now in here cuz I spent about 20 minutes already going through this stuff. The main thing at this point is the rest of the garage. I mean, I feel like I barely even did anything. I already have this big bag of trash. Feel like I barely even did anything. >> This year, we ain't just decluttering this garage, y'all. We are going to declutter our finances [music] as well. Last week, I worked on getting rid of all of my subscriptions that I had going on that I didn't want to bring with me into this new year. And I think I saved about a grand, a good grand this year [music] on just cutting out my subscriptions. Now, this week I'm going to do my old tip that I give people to do [music] when I'm counseling them on budgeting, and that is to inventory all of your service providers [music] and see if switching them or even getting a new one makes sense instead [music] of the usual way of like burning yourself out, trying to make more money, trying to do more. Sometimes just reflecting on what you already have and how you can [music] make small changes will do the job. So, I am going to specifically look at my internet bill. Y'all, back in the day, I used to [music] call the internet service. I'd be like, "Hello, this is getting a little bit too expensive." And other service providers say they gonna give me a deal. And in [music] an instant, they would give me a discount over the phone. Y'all, that's one of the easiest tips [music] you can do to lower your internet service. For me, service providers are also your home insurance, your car insurance, even your gardener, but not my gardener cuz he makes my um [music] he makes my grass look really, really pretty every time I drive up. I'm so thankful for him. [music] But it also includes the cell phone bills, y'all. So many people are overpaying hundreds of dollars for cell phone bills. And I don't understand why. I'm just like, why? Why? Why? But I understand why. Because I used to be scared to switch cell phone providers, too. I would think, oh my gosh, I'm not going to get my fast 5G internet anymore or I'm going to have to get a new phone. Oh no. But then my dad told me, "Girl, don't you know all those people use half of them use the same uh towers anyway? all using the same power just on a different name. So, talking about switching providers and getting new cell phone service, that brings me to the sponsor of today's video, Mint Mobile. You guys do not skip this part, okay? I am very confident that this is going to help you guys maybe save some money and make some changes moving into the new year because for a limited time, Mint is offering unlimited premium wireless service at $15 a month. Thanks again to Mint Mobile for sponsoring this video. And now let's finish decluttering this garage. >> So Joe, how are you feeling about decluttering your home? >> Um, I feel good about it. I I kind of want to clean for like a straight week or two. I remember when I was cleaning the kitchen, I spent like 3 or 4 days straight cleaning that like for 12 hours a day. The thing is that when you're decluttering, you have to really get into it or else you're not really going to declutter anything. You're just throwing away stuff, but you're not decluttering purposefully, you know, curating a space for it. >> Okay. Okay. So, >> not feeling anxious or worried or scared? >> No. Why would I Why would I feel any of those things about throwing stuff away? Do you feel that way? >> No. You think I'm a hoarder? Oh my gosh. You think I'm a hoarder? >> I think you're a >> You think I'm scared to throw stuff away? I AIN'T SCARED. GIVE ME A BLACK trash bag. I ain't scared to Where THE TRASH BAGS AT? I AIN'T SCARED TO THROW NOTHING AWAY. >> Throw this away. >> No, that's my stroller. That's my upper baby. >> You're hoarding. >> Oh, are you recording? >> Yeah. >> Why? What are you recording for? >> Uh because we're about to throw away 1,000 items in this house. If anyone's afraid of stuff getting thrown away, it's Arizona. >> Not more so afraid. >> She's like, "What? Where's my stuff?" SHE'S ALREADY HE'S ALREADY LOOKING FOR YOUR STUFF. She's already looking for her stuff. >> I'm eating food. I was looking at my cake. >> Y'all, if y'all need inspiration for throwing stuff away, um, you could get it. Where are the Where are the trash bags? Oh, see, we had that in the trash area though. >> Mom, you trash. >> And it's also It's good till January 3rd. the trash bag. >> Can I eat it? >> That That brings me That brings me anxiety. [laughter] I don't know where that cake is going to show up next. >> Go, we got to hurry up and do this before the kids get home. All right. [laughter] >> I threw in my black jacket four times. Like I saw it in a Kylie stuff and stuff outside of the room and then back folded up nicely. >> I don't understand because I just threw away I intentionally threw trash on it over [laughter] top of it and then took it out the trash. >> I threw away something in the trash can like three times and I saw it resurface. That's why I tell Joe once we get stuff in the trash bags, we need to go take them to the dumpster at the church. >> Yeah, we can't even throw it away in our actual like we could >> dump. So, >> okay, let's get started. >> Get bags. Come on. Get bags. We need them twist ties. They can't get nothing out of there. >> Okay. I feel like I'm going a little bit slow right now. So, I think I need to re react some more. Just initial grab and go kind of thing. Get our wipes. Go this way. Cardboard. Toss that out. [music] >> [music] [music] >> children's basket for a bike. Trash, right? >> Trash, right? Yeah. >> No. >> Trash, right? >> No. >> Yeah. Trash, right? >> No. >> You're supposed to say yes. >> Trash, right? >> Yeah. All right. Yeah. >> Well, here's the thing. >> The thing is that people haven't used certain things. >> I I remember I used to ride >> and that was a nice [music] memory, wasn't it? That you used to have. >> That bear cuz I forgot. >> There's this lady on the internet who likes to [music] clean and like, you know, organize things. She says, she says, you look at it, you have all the memories that [music] you have and you hug it like this, right? And then you say, "Thank you for the memories." >> Why did you have to do that so violently? >> Aa, how about this? Thank you for the memories. >> No, no, that's my current memory. >> Wait, but this is still good. >> No, it is. That's the problem. It's still good. So, it's valuable to someone else. >> How do you hook it onto a bite? >> Oh, but how about mom? How about this? Y'all memories? >> Yeah, but I'm still currently using it. >> I'm currently using it. I'm sorry. Did that hurt your feelings? >> What? >> Did that hurt your feelings? >> Oh, see, she feels some type of way about body. She got to throw away your whole bone. >> Okay. So, what do we do with this? >> See, we're not using this now. >> We're not. But we might use it later in the new house. >> I was just saying to the camera problem with stuff like this is that it's valuable >> maybe in the future. >> Put in a maybe I feel like this should go in a pile. Like if we can't put it on the bike within the next two weeks, then we'll throw it away. Do we have a bin? >> Do we have a maybe bin? >> No, we we don't have We should have a pile of here. So, this bag has been sitting on top of that refrigerator for the last, I think, 7 to 8 months. So, we were debating, should we look through it or just throw it away? >> I mean, I think it should be open up, glance through, and then throw it away. >> Yeah, we got this one item out of there. And this one item is a keep cuz Butters could wear these little shorts. And I think that's it. >> No, no, we don't need that dirty towel. Mm- So, this our first 30 bag trash. Go ahead. >> Trash it. >> Give it the hug. Give it the hug now. >> No. Give it to me. >> Trash it. >> Thank you for what you could have been. >> Yeah. Thank you for what you could have been. But you don't mean nothing to us now. We never used it one time. We had a trampoline for a long time now. >> I think it's different cuz we live in California. The weather's nice. >> Yeah. But what if we move to Texas and it's burner pot? We'll get another one. >> Yeah, we get a better trampoline. >> Yeah, >> these are my favorite orders. Sparkling water. Mountain Valley. >> No. >> No, that was Audrey Elena. >> Audrey, put you put this BACK IN HERE. AUDREY, >> IT WAS NOT EVEN We got that from HMart and I forgot to finish it. >> You didn't eat it. >> You didn't forget to finish it. You just didn't finish it >> cuz I cuz cuz I looked in there cuz I really wanted to eat it and I'm really hungry and it was not in there. >> Don't eat it. Don't eat it. >> No. Move back. >> Eat that. >> Yeah. >> Yes, I am. I love fish. >> No, but this is [laughter] what happened. It's like >> my favorite type of fish. >> No. No. No. Don't throw this away. I was just about to eat some of [laughter] bagels and ketchup. >> Okay, so I feel like we're pretty much done here. I mean, everything else is in bins or >> I feel like we threw away like one piece of lint. >> Look at all this stuff behind you. Look. Look. Turn around. >> Yeah. Three bags of like packaging material and and food. And >> I feel like we threw away three things. Maybe there's more, but it doesn't We didn't We really didn't do much. >> This is a lot of stuff, though. I mean, if we would keep this here. >> Look at how much Look at how much space it's taking up. That's at least >> five square foot of space. >> You know what? I think that we should do I think that we should if we're going to declutter and throw stuff away, we should at least make one room completely unusable for it to just be like a whole bunch of stuff in there. This garage can be just like a junk room. Just have all the junk in the house in here so that the every other room could be purposeful. I don't want to do that because I use this room and this room is one of the most important rooms to me to stay clean because when I get home from taking the kids from like picking them up from swimming or taking them home from school and I walk in here, this is my safe place. If it's dirty, this is where I have to this is my introduction to the home. If I have to walk >> use another use another entrance, Elena, use the front door. If I have to walk through a dirty space to get to my clean home, I'm going to feel I'm not going to have good feelings. >> So, I don't want to use the garage for that. >> Sideep the space. Just go through the front door. Go through the side door. >> I can't use the front door. I have to get groceries and put them in the refrigerator. I'm constantly out here. If anything, we should use your workspace as the junk room. >> Yeah, we can throw everything upstairs. We just just >> That doesn't make any sense. >> Throw everything in one place. Yeah. And then >> because if you're going to try to hire someone to just clean up the space or clean up this take stuff out, we just call him to clean out one space instead of clean out the whole entire house. >> No, I definitely don't agree with this because Joe, that's the way he does his cleaning. He takes everything that's junk, puts it in a bin, and then says, "I'm going to get to that later, Elena." >> And that time is now. >> I'm I'm I'm going to have an honest conversation. Okay. Uh-huh. >> When you throw everything into a bin when you're cleaning a room and say you're going to get to it later, how much percentage of the time do you actually get to it later? >> 30%. >> Right. So, what usually ends up happening, >> that's cuz I'm prioritizing other things. You know, there's other things or other things, you know, other things. >> What happens is he puts that bin out in the garage and I said, "Joe." And I give him four months to clean up. I was like, "Okay, you haven't touched this bin." I take that [music] bin and dump it, which is fine, but that's why I don't want to do that to a room. You're saying, "Let's put everything." That bin is now in your mind a room. And you're saying, "Well, let's just put everything that we don't know what to do with in one room, and then I'll eventually get to it." Is that what you're saying? >> Yeah. >> And so, you have a 30% chance of actually getting to that stuff. >> Yeah. >> And then you want me to just go through it and throw all the stuff away. >> Yeah. >> I don't want to do that. [laughter] We might as well just GET RID OF IT NOW. THE REASON WHY I SAY THAT is because then every other space in the house can be usable in the way that it could be. >> We could do that by just throwing everything away right now and throwing it straight out. That's why I don't understand why. Why are we procrastinating? >> It's a longer process than that. >> I feel like it's really not. It's really not. >> Okay, let's at least throw away this. >> Let's throw away this stuff, Joe. This >> small little pile. >> Look at all of this stuff. He's calling this, you guys. He's calling this a small little bag of stuff. Look at this. What is small or little about that pile right there? That is a decent size of stuff to throw away. We're not trying to get it all done in all in one day, though. Okay, we decided that we are going to do a little tiny clean up of the garage after we throw all this stuff away just to have some calm and peace in this area just so it looks like we did something cuz right now it really doesn't look like we did anything. So, we have the stuff that we're going to throw away. And now we're just going to put everything back. [music] [music] Okay, I just want to show you guys some of the items we're throwing away. This soccer ball, this little bottle of I don't know what, and this weird thing. So, we have a lot of stuff that, you know, I'm just picking through things. I'm just fighting around stuff that we definitely don't need. Do we need this glove? You can't see that. Maybe we found more stuff. A school jacket that the kids never want to wear. Trash. >> These are parts to the old trampoline. >> What is this? >> I don't know what that is. >> Who knows? Trash. Old ribbon. and a pair of shoes that have been sitting out in this box for I don't know long. These are Maya's Michael Kors little shoes. So, I have a huge shoe bin down here that we're just going to put all the shoes in and then we're going to go through the shoe bin separately to see which ones we want to keep or sell or give away. See, I feel like this is a better idea. Put everything in bins of what they are. You see what I'm [music] saying? That's what I usually do. I usually get bins, put group them into what they are, and then go through that bin later so that all the clutter and stuff is in a bin, not necessarily in a room. >> Hike me up. 1 2 3. There's like other stuff that I don't know what they are. Obviously, they're in a nice like, you know, thick ziplocky kind of thing. But because I don't know what it is, I am kind of stuck in this weird position where it's like, should I keep it cuz I it looks important. I just don't know what it is. >> No, we do know what it is. It's stuff that from our house when we first moved in. They left all this stuff from the house. You should just get rid of that. We haven't used it in 7 years. >> I don't think we ever used it. >> Okay. We found the kids old bags. They're not in Aana's anymore. So, this is going in the trash. Sad. Give it love. I told you guys we had a bunch of stuff from sponsors. I think is this one of the things from the sponsorships? >> Maybe. Yeah. So, we used to have a tile subscription for, you know, our keys and stuff, and they would send us like batteries every single month. There's like 30 batteries in here. Expired about 4 years ago. Fresh. [music] So, our strollers and little wagons come with a lot of little accessories and stuff, but we often lose them or the kids play with them. So, >> trash. >> Yeah. We're going to keep the wagon itself, but throw all the little extra pieces in the hoods and the little little extra pockets and stuff that needs to go. [music] So, this is what we got and took out of the garage. I feel like this is a good amount. We got two car seats. We got lots of trash. We have items that we didn't want anymore. So, you're not going to really even be able to tell a difference from those five bags of trash that we just put out there, but we did go through and declutter. Yeah. So, not a noticeable difference at all, but we're we're progressing. So, I like that. All right. So, now me and Aai are about to go to the recycling center. Um, we have gathered some uh just various cans [music] and bottles and plastics and stuff like that and we're going to head over there and see how much Aai is going to get from his uh hard work of just collecting all the stuff from recyclables from this past week. Looking good. Why did you want to start uh recycling on? >> Because I got money. >> How much money do you usually get? >> Or like $7. >> So that means in a whole year you would be able to get how much approximately? >> Um 80 $480. $480 is not a small amount, is it? So, these are the rates here [music] in Orange County, California. Aluminum cans are worth the most here. Looks like glass is not that much, but it's okay. >> Just keep it moving, sir. I know that it's just a simple little thing to recycle. So, it just teaches him how to get his own money and teaches him how to just, you know, do the work and get the job done. He dumps out the stuff into the into the containers himself. He collects the bottles and cans and stuff like that and he makes his money. Just put them right over here by this um by this little platform. So, right now, [music] Aza has all these little things in here. He has all these little recyclables. And there's a person that comes over that puts it on top of this platform. It's a scale, weighs it all, and then cuts them a check or cuts them a receipt. All right. So, this is the [music] receipt that he got. Here you go, sir. All right, sir. How much did you make? >> Stop. I stood there for like 30 minutes. >> Well, you were running away from bees half the time. All right. Well, we made it. Proud of you for making your own money, though. You did all the work. So, I just walked out to this garage and I feel like when we're in it and we're cleaning and we're decluttering, we can really not see all the work we did. I walked out here and it just felt great as soon as I walked out here. So, I know we did something good. Um, I decided that while Joe is taking the trash over to the trash cans, I might as well get started on one of the rooms I really wanted to declutter the most, my bedroom and my bathroom. So, here's the current condition of my bathroom right now. It's a bit messy. I've got tons of clothes that I need to do something with. And this is the current condition of my bedroom. Thank God for Trinity Joe's bags. [laughter] So, how I like to declutter my bathroom is very simple. I get two of these brown paper bags and I fill two of them up as much as I can. This one is for my bathroom. This one's going to be for my bedroom. And I'm going to start with all of these drawers um that I've neglected for the past four or five months. I've got [music] too many vitamins, too many empty bottles, and I don't know what's in here. So, I'm just going to go through there and take all that stuff out. Then, I have this whole situation in my bedroom with all these papers, with all just general trash sitting around. So, let's get to this decluttering. >> [music] [music] >> So, these [music] are my new Timu scarves that I got from Teimu. So, um, as I get rid of my old scarves, [music] I also make way for the new That's one of the things I love about decluttering [music] is putting in things that you're you look forward to using. This is obviously where all the clutter starts and ends. So, my idea now is just to pull everything [music] out. And there you have it, folks. Clutter [music] at its finest. I am too not immune to buying things. An American dream of having [music] nonsense in your home that you can't get rid of. So, what I've decided to do now is to just throw everything down right next to me. And I'm just going to go through it all. If I don't throw away at least half of this stuff, we're going to have to go through it multiple times. So, I'm just [music] going to group things together, sort them, and then trash them. Okay, I filled up one of these bags [music] and currently this is what my corner is looking like. It's [music] a lot less stuff. And here's my drawer. I got rid of a lot of stuff. It still looks full, but trust me, I got rid of a lot. And underneath here, I decluttered so much. Um, I literally got rid of so many things. The bag was so heavy. Uh, it still looks pretty full, but the work is done. Y'all, I look a mess. Look at my hair. My face is looking dull. My teeth yellow. [groaning] My face looks all puffy. My skin looking dry. My hair looking all crusty, dusty, all different colors. I look so bad. I need a New York glow up. This color cuz this is what I had. All right, Joe, you need a glow up, too. Don't try to hide. >> Spoon here in my Joe, help me. All right, y'all. Going to do my hair. You if you put it on, I'll just rub it in. >> I didn't know that this was um bleach or whatever it was or coloring. I thought you were eating like a like a acai bowl or something. >> You thought I was eating food? >> I thought it was like just a pile of pudding or something. >> No. Do I look so bad? I look terrible. >> You don't look bad. I look like a 40-year-old dried up 40-year-old woman and I never liked 40-year-old woman in a carpool line. Is that who you want me to be? A 40y old dusty lusty woman. Body shot, face shot, looking like she hasn't hydrated or drank anything for you. Want me to stay crusty dusty so don't nobody want me out in these streets? No, no, no. I know why you keep me looking crusty dusty. Because you know, you keep yourself looking crusty dusty. I keep I keep other women away from me. >> And you going to keep me away too. [laughter] You going to keep me away and everybody else and your mama. Should I do my eyebrows? >> I don't know. What color is that? Like a cranberry purplish. >> Okay. So, why don't you take care of yourself? >> That's a good question. Well, part of it is I put other things in front of me. >> If you don't take care of yourself, how can you take care of other people? >> Sometimes I take care of myself enough and then I take care of everything else. So, but I think that I'm I haven't been in the motion of doing that and really making considerations for myself. >> Well, I wish you would cuz I want my man to look fine when he turned 50. >> But it's not about it's not really about appearance. >> It is about appearance because what you are inside, >> it reflects on the outside. >> So, what I'm saying is it's it comes from the inside. It's not by taking care of yourself by >> doing these um things for your face or whatever. >> That's why you look tired. Part of it is just poor nurturing for my own self. I think >> how >> um I don't think that I am putting in my my best interests in front of me. >> Am I about to get cute? Like if I were to say what I have not been do how I've been not treating myself well, I could say I haven't been going on my walks or I haven't been doing the things that I like to do like going skating. We should do that tonight. Let's go skating cuz that's something fun I like to do. So like what exactly? >> Okay. Well, part of that is just time to my own self, giving myself space for that. I feel like I'm always retreating in other places trying to find stuff to do. I always tend to be around people. I mean, not people, children. People and children are two different things. >> Well, I want you to write some things down for this new year. >> I already have stuff written down. >> Okay. But then I need you to implement it. >> Yeah. >> Because Joe, I care about you. I want you to um you know Ooh, this haircut kind of looks cute. Is is all this even? >> Yeah, I think it's done. >> We're starting out the new year with self-care and encouraging people who don't take care of themselves to take a little bit of better care of themselves as well. So, what are you going to do for this new year for yourself? What are your your goals, Joe? >> I'm going to take some time to I'm going to take some time to consider what those things are. That's what I need to do first. I can't just >> I thought you said you already did that, Joe. It's 10 days into the new year. You ain't figured out what you going to do. >> Mm- I'm getting pulled back into 2025 already. >> Well, I already know what I'm going to do. I'm going to spend time with the Lord. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Thank you, Jesus. Woo. Do your dance, Joe. Do your dance. >> Uhhuh. >> Do your dance. >> I don't have I don't have a praise break dance. >> Do it. Do it. Come on. [applause] >> Figure it out right now. That's for me. That's the first thing. You're going to get a praise dance. [applause] Come on. You're going to get a signature dance. And the Holy Spirit is going to give you a new dance. A new dance in 2026. >> Okay. [applause] Pray for that. >> No sir. Faith. Faith. Faith. FAITH. [applause] [laughter] >> You ain't going to let me dance into [music] the new year alone. >> [music] >> Is you going to let me dance into the New York logo? >> No, I'll I'll uh I'll do this. We're about to start this new year right before praise break. >> You're about to make the money you would have made in the NFL without going. >> Well, you got to get off this. [music] Why is this so funny to you? >> See their feet. It's like cut dancing. [music] >> So, I'm here. >> There's no There's steps to this. There's [clears throat] no steps to It's just You're just It's just You're just >> Okay. Okay. Okay. >> Right. >> But I got I got it started. You got to come with me. >> Okay. >> Cuz it's funnier that way. What do >> you mean it's funny though? >> It's not funny. Like >> it's not like it's like a one and two and three and four and five and six and seven eight. Your hands just go up and the money you would have made in the NFL without going. [laughter] >> All right. Ready? Ready? One, two, seven, eight. [music] >> Wait, don't dye my head. >> Don't they just run around and stuff? coming to this meeting together as a couple doing a praise dance for the Lord together. >> Maybe that's the type of person I am. >> That's not >> Maybe I'm a [laughter] runner. >> NEVER IN CHURCH. WE'RE IN THE BATHROOM. >> I feel like I need to go somewhere though. [laughter] Go. >> Maybe I'm a runner. >> Go. Maybe a runner. Maybe you're a runner. >> Running into a miracle. >> [laughter] >> Run into a miracle. Okay, my turn. My turn. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 3 2 3 4 5 6 7 8. [snorts] [gasps] I'm too tired to praise the Lord. [laughter] >> Guy just told me I'm not a runner. >> Hey, I GOT THE VICTORY. >> [applause] >> HEY, HEY, HEY, HEY, HEY. SEE, YOU WERE BORN IN THAT BLACK CHURCH. That's why YOU DON'T KNOW THE BLACK STEPS. And I can't DO IT CUZ MY HIP HURT, the victory. But now [screaming] WITH A BLACK WOMAN, I said YOU GOT THE VICTORY. THE DEVIL [screaming] THOUGHT THAT HE HAD you sitting down in Korean church. >> Wait, wait. >> But God, [screaming] >> HE KNEW. >> IT'S TIME TO GET THE DYE ON YOUR YOUR HAIR. >> WOO! HE HAD THE VICTORY. >> That's why That's why you married black. So God could get you up off that seat and get YOU ON YOUR FEET. >> [screaming] [laughter] >> DUDE, y'all seen me do more moves in the club in Uganda. >> Yeah. >> See, if some of y'all would just get out your seats on Sunday, that weight loss that you wanted, YOU WOULD HAVE IT. [laughter] When y'all was in your 20s, [gasps] YOU COULD JUMP AROUND IN A CLUB, but now you in your 30S AND YOUR 40S AND YOU CAN'T GET YOURSELF OUT YOUR SEAT. And [snorts] we wondering why we got diabetes, high cholesterol. [gasps] You don't need some more zipping. You need a praise dance. [laughter] So, let's reveal my new hair color. Let's see how it looks. Tada. Kind of looks kind of similar to me. It's definitely brighter in color, but it's fine. At least I don't look crusty dusty anymore. It's okay. But I love that gold color that I had like two years ago. I'm trying to get that color back cuz I was too cute. So, here is how my hair turned out. I had to cut it off, y'all. The color I don't know. You can barely see that it has color in it. >> I feel like it wasn't really that great. [laughter] What do you think? >> H I can't even see it. >> There's no difference. >> There's no difference. >> Yes. >> Yeah. After a hard day of labor, we are going to do something fun. It is date night, but with the kids this time. So, we are all about to get ready to go and we're going to go skate the night away. And we want you guys to come along with us. So, let's go. Tada. [screaming] >> Oh, wow. You're wearing your skates you got for Christmas. >> Yeah. >> Nice. You can show them off tonight. The skate re and they're going to be blinking. >> That's cool. Audrey, so I decided to wear this little M necklace that a Kylie got me for Christmas tonight to represent our family. No, it represents Maze. Maize Lee. It represents Mais Lee. I just I love it. I love having something that's just like a little medallion for our family. I don't know. I think that's kind of cool. I was thinking about doing a crest for the family. Like having someone professionally like make a crest for us so that anytime that we have something we can use it and like you know we can have a signature something. I don't know just got to like bring us together. So >> I love you girl. >> I'm taller than >> Audrey just celebrated her birthday >> and she turned nine. That's how she got so tall. >> No. I just have my >> I got for my birthday. >> Good. Yeah, let's bring those. You going to bring those skates? >> Yes. >> Yeah, that's going to be nice. We're going to have fun. >> The last thing we wanted to do is spend more time with our family. So, we are going out tonight to skate. And I believe that this is going to be one of the first great memorable moments of something that we can keep doing all year round and remember for many, many, many years. We got to remember it. >> Many, many, many, >> many, many, many years. I just want our family to be closer together, you know, stop the fighting, arguing, and bickering that's happening. Um, and just give the kids Yeah. Give the kids something fun to do with each other. So, we're going to try this. Let's see how this work. No arguing is allowed on this night. Y'all hear me? Butters, wake up. We're here. We're at the skating ring. You fell asleep. Come on. Yeah. >> Yeah. >> First time skating since I've been pregnant. >> Oh, yeah. >> Just unpreg. >> Okay. So, you got to get your balance back. >> Look how much taller I am than you skates. That is so weird. >> Do you know how to skate? >> Kind of rocky these days. >> You sleeping fine? >> No. >> You ready to skate? >> You want to get real skates? You want to get your skates? You're skating. Okay. >> You know how to skate? [music] >> Okay. I'm going to see out there skating. Okay. [music] [music] >> No matter. This reminder seems that there is no food or train on or over that car. [music] >> Okay, that wasn't horrible. [music] [music] Over [music] there. Over there. Over there. Arizona decided to join us. >> Are you going to skate? >> No. Yeah. >> Yeah. We are just going to skate. >> Well, you going to use my skates? Oh, >> okay. It's Aba starting to skate with the kids out there. Earlier in this [music] video, I didn't say what I wanted to focus on this year, and not because I didn't know, but because I [music] just needed time to sit with it first. So, this year, I'm choosing self-care, or maybe more honestly, self-kindness. I've been too hard on myself for too long. [music] So, I want to make space where the noise dims, where the music fades, and I can actually hear what God is speaking into me. Jesus modeled this. He stepped away 40 days in the wilderness before fully stepping into his ministry. [music] And maybe for me that's going to look like a private praise break, a long drive with no agenda, just being still in nature, [music] or pushing my body hard enough that my mind finally quiets. Less self ambition, more [music] surrender, asking God to clean this vessel. So whatever pours out of me this year is actually from him. This time right, left foot freeze. Everybody clap your hands. Oh, that's hard for me. [music] Reverse reverse. >> What happened? So, I was telling Kylie that uh a lot of times people bring their own headphones to listen to their own music and I bought my own headphones my own music right now. I can't see her last song. Heat. [music] Heat. All right, skaters. That will bring us to the end of our skating session. And at this time, I do need everyone to please clear that. >> That concludes our night. We're all done now. Aren't we girl? Let's check on our face. Bye. >> Thank you. >> Okay, that was successful. >> Family fun night and now adult night. >> It was really fun, wasn't it? >> Yeah, it was cute. >> Yeah. Do you feel like that was like bringing our family close together? Like coy? >> Yeah, I think so. Cuz it's like we're we're working together in >> I mean any type of fashion to get a drink, to go out, to Yeah. watch each other's backs or stuff >> if someone falls. >> Yeah. >> Did someone pick you up when you fell? >> You did. I saw you fall when you were jumping when you were doing my dance. >> Yeah. Yeah, I fell. >> We are cooking up some dinner. >> What is Opa making? >> Cake. >> What is that joke? >> It's a coffee and crusted uh steak. So, I'm going to try to use coffee grounds. >> Is that a new recipe? >> Uh I had it at a restaurant, but apparently it is something that people do. So, I'm going to use the coffee grounds that I always throw away. So, might as well see if um I can make something out of it. >> Nice. >> I want one of the kids to make this. I think you guys can make this on a pan. >> Yeah, you make it on a sheet pan. >> What? You can make this 35 minutes. A child can do this. >> Baby, did you see? >> She's terribly tired. >> What? She can stand up. H >> Don't make her stand. Don't make her stand. Don't make her stand. [screaming] >> Why? >> We're trying to make her not walk. [laughter] >> She's tired. Let me feed her. >> Chef Joe cooking up the steak. Let's >> see what this looks like. I don't know how this is going to turn out, but opposite that you could make me the same meal as you and mom. >> I never got any meal. >> It cost too much. >> Now, if you bring it, I'll cook it for you, though. >> Yeah, that's okay. >> It's like uh $25. Oh, >> well, on sale. No, no, it's not 25. It's like 16. But then on sale, it's 2 for 25. Yeah. Well, we got some cheaper steaks this time from Costco, so we should be able to saw a big thing of meat in the freezer. >> Yeah, we bought lots of meat. >> Yeah. >> You mean the thing that looks like someone >> $95? >> Yeah. >> What was that, Joe? >> Uh, I think that's a roast, right? The thing that's like this big. >> Yeah. Huh. Interesting to see how this comes out. So, we're going to have I'm going to have a steak and these greens. Oh, and he even got me a kiwi out. Babe, you know me, baby. You >> know what I want? [music] [music] [music] Wow, that was SO GOOD. IT'S NOT EVEN THAT. >> It's not even me. But that's not even how it's supposed to sound like. [music] [music] [music] >> [music] >> Joe, I just composed the song. >> No, I didn't. >> You did. You made it up, right? No. [music] What song is that? >> The Kylie. >> Oh, Kylie. What is it? >> It's the driver's license. >> That's that one. >> Girl, get my baby off of YouTube. You got my baby watching YouTube. Uh-oh. >> She'll fall asleep. Don't worry. >> What you doing, Joe? >> I'm uh browning the butter. >> Browning the butter, huh? >> You like your butter brown? >> Huh? >> You like your butt brown? >> I like Yeah, I like my butter brown. >> I know what I said. I said you like your butt brown. Make it medium rare. Medium rare. I want it med I want it medium. I want it like a little bit of >> I don't want to do medium. >> I want >> Listen, this is a new steak that I haven't used before. It's a little bit thicker than what we usually use. So, I'd rather do under than over. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> I like my steak medium. I think I like it medium rare, but I'm like scared, you know? >> No, medium rare. >> I think I like it medium rare. Like a little bit of red in the center. Like I like it raw in the middle. >> You like it a little bit raw? >> Cold center. Right. >> Cold center. >> Yes, >> that's rare. >> Oh. [laughter] Oh, I like my meat rare. Okay. Raw. >> Okay. Give me some of that. the medium room. >> You're confusing me right now. Come on. Let me let me do what I have to do. >> Don't we all have weight loss goals for the end of the year? I'm about to get skinny. So, let me weigh myself. Let me clock. Let me check in. Let me see my little scale right here. Okay. I don't know why this scale keeps saying 8 lbs. Before I start I think this thing is broken. Oh, wait. How I'mma weigh myself in front of the camera. Let me put it down. There we go. 138.84.6 184 point. Which one is it? Man, this thing's so broke. I don't know if I 13 one. Not the one. No, not 138. 183.8 or 13. I don't know. 184. I need to get a new um scale. But watch, cuz after baby number nine, I'mma get back to what I used to look like when I was strong. Y'all, I used to look so fit. But don't worry, it's coming in 2026. Your girl about to get fit after baby number nine. I'm going get five. Joe ain't going to know what hit him. >> Okay, so this is what it looks like today. um coffee encrusted um steak. I think it came out pretty good. It's like a medium medium rare. It came out really good. >> Oh, that's so good. >> You should actually look at it with your eyes. >> I know. >> Oh, look at her all knocked out. >> You look so cute, Joe. >> She's so precious. >> Yeah. >> No, really. And her little little chin. Her little tiny chin. Her little puffy cheeks. People say the baby looks like me, but I think the baby actually looks like you. >> I don't think she looks like me cuz I know what I look like when I was a baby. I don't think she looks exactly like me, but >> And I'm not saying that she looks like you as a baby. >> Yeah, I know. >> I'm saying like >> like now like she has features on I know cuz all my babies look the same so they have they all feel the same to me. M. Joe, this tastes restaurant quality. >> It's good, right? The coffee. >> Yes. >> It's good, right? >> This is good. And this is Costco me. >> Yeah. >> I know what I'm going to do with the um the coffee bean. >> This was a really great day. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Like just the extra skating at the end and then the fine dining. It just felt really good like to get out of the house and do something as a family and you participated. So, I love that. Thank you. And thank you for keeping a calm, clear attitude the whole time. It was good. Yeah. Even though I know you're really tired. >> No, I was just a little bit sleepd deprived, but that's okay. >> Mhm. She's so cute, girl. >> Let me put her in her crib. [music] [music]
