His name is Aaron Spencer and he's running to be the top law man of Lowenoke County. All while currently fighting murder charges, announcing his campaign in a Facebook post. Wrote a clip. >> On a night last October, Spencer awoke to his dog barking and found his 13-year-old daughter missing. A hoodie on a stuffed animal placed in her bed and found her in the trunk of 67year-old Michael Fostler. After forcing Foster's vehicle off the road, a confrontation ending with Spencer shooting and killing Fostler. According to the court documents and according to court records, Fostler was out on bond after being charged with multiple sex offenses involving a child. In lifting a gag order on Spencer's proceedings, a judge writing Fosler's alleged offenses were acts against Spencer's teenage daughter. Spencer not responding to our request for an interview, but his attorney telling NBC News in a statement he was quote justified under Arkansas law in taking action to protect his daughter and himself. >> Time out. The campaign's Facebook page with 15,000 followers now links to a new fundraising page. Spencer posting, "Support from this community has been beyond anything I imagined. The primary is set for March. Candidate filings begin next month. Spencer will likely face off against current Lo County Sheriff John Staley, whose department arrested him." NBC News reached out to Staley's office for comment, but did not hear back. The sheriff telling one local paper he couldn't comment on Spencer's case because of the pending trial, but that he'll run again, saying, "Since 2013, I have served as sheriff with a clear mission to protect our citizens and hold those who break the law accountable." NBC News also reached out to the county prosecutor's office, but have not heard back. A man charged with taking the law into his own hands, now trying to turn the tables and take hold of the office that enforces the law. >> All right, let's put this in perspective. Y'all know I'm a man of law and order. If there is articulable evidence that somehow he committed a murder unjustifiably according to the law, then he has to be held accountable. But I I I can't find any way that this is not legal. I I I don't know what you should have latitude to do whatever you think is necessary with complete with complete immunity. If your 13-year-old is in a car with a sex offender and and he he had kidnapped her, you should have the latitude to do everything including beheading this person. That's just my opinion. It's just weird. We also found that some voters were survivors of sexual assault themselves and that's what got them to the polls. >> When I was five or six years old, I was it was the first time I was and that's why I want Aaron Spencer to stop things like that from happening. >> Spencer's trial date hasn't been set, but could fall before the November election. If he is convicted, he won't be able to hold office. Are you prepared for all scenarios in your future? I would be lying to say I wasn't stressed or anything like that, you know. And I think if you're going into office and you're not scared about it or you're dealing with a trial and you're not a little scared about it, you know, um I think that's definitely the wrong behavior and attitude and thought process to have. >> He's innocent until proven guilty. We don't have any video footage of the incident, do we? Now, if if you got video of a guy saying, "Hey, man, I'm sorry that I and he just stands over him and his daughter is safe and there's no evidence that anything else happened, I guess, and he shoots the guy in the head." Pow. And maybe people can have a bigger argument, but there's no video evidence. I I don't know what other evidence they have to articulate. You You do that to somebody. That's like if I I'm not a victim. If I take your 13-y old daughter out of the house and I already been in trouble for doing offenses like this in the past and I'm caught with your you do whatever you want to do. I'm not a victim.
