Analysis Summary
Anchoring
Presenting an extreme number or claim first so everything after seems reasonable by comparison. The first piece of information becomes your reference point — even when it's arbitrary or deliberately inflated. Works even when you know the anchor is irrelevant.
Tversky & Kahneman's anchoring heuristic (1974)

No, I got up and I told her to leave. I went to the door. >> She was standing right here, >> right? Then I put on my coat. I was going to leave. >> Okay. >> I was going to leave. >> Mhm. >> And she grabbed me. >> Where did she grab you? >> She grabbed the coat. I had my coat on. >> Okay. [snorts] Um and then I'll come talk to you after. I just don't really want you guys in the same room. You know, if you guys are arguing, >> I'm going to get a mop to clean this up. Okay. What's your first name again? >> My name is Clyde McLemore. I'm executive record. >> Okay. Mackmore. How do you spell that? >> This ain't our first fight either. >> No. Okay. >> She stole on me before. I got a video on me. Stole on me downstairs. I got cameras on everything in here. >> Do you have cameras here and here? >> No. No. Okay. Got them all around. >> Okay. About what time did she did she get here? >> About 20 minutes ago. >> 20 minutes ago. Okay. So, like 12:40. >> I just called talked to uh Chief Nvar. >> Okay. What did he tell you? Call police. >> She came back in here talking about she left her coffee up in here >> and that's when we got touch again. Okay. >> [snorts] >> upstairs. >> Okay. So, I know you probably talked to her, but um now it's time to talk to me. What happened when you got here? >> What? Obviously, I've been here since like 9:00 this morning. >> Okay. >> Um I asked him for some money because I know that the funding is limited, but I also know that I filled out paperwork for a couple grants that we have due >> and I asked about the money and per usual when I asked about money, we started fighting. >> Okay. fighting or arguing? >> No, we started arguing. >> Okay. >> And then it turned it escalated into >> Okay. >> Well, it wasn't fighting. It was more like tusling. >> Tusling. What's tinling? You got to kind of explain to me. >> Um just a lot of pushing like like just pushing and like pretty much body slamming. >> Okay. When you walked in, he was sitting down or standing up? >> He was sitting in his chair. >> He was sitting in his chair. Okay. And then you just came in and you started asking him for money. And how you want to know? >> I asked him. I said, "When did the money come?" He said, "It don't matter. I ain't giving you." That's what he said. I ain't giving you. >> That's what he told me. I'm not giving you I told him, "It's not fair that I come here and I work and you running around taking care of other things that don't got nothing to do with Black Lives Matter, with Black Lives Matter money. I'm the one that make this joint work." And he told me he didn't give a he wasn't giving me nothing. >> Okay? >> And I told him, "Pay me for the work that I did do and I'll leave." And he stood up and told me, "Get the out of his office." And I told him, "Yeah, after you pay me." And the entire time I was standing there, I was standing there right over left with my hands crossed right over left. And he pushed me in my chest and told me, "Get the out of his office." And we start hustling. >> Okay. Um, at any point did he put his jacket on? Did he have his jacket on or no? >> Yeah. >> Okay. And did he ask you to leave before that happened? >> And I told him, "Yeah, when he gave you the money." >> Okay. Does he owe you any money for these grants? cuz he said he doesn't owe you anything anymore. >> Um, if you do you want me to pull up the grant? Do you want me to pull up the grant that I that I made the proposal, the organizational summary that I submitted? >> No, that's not what I say that I'm supposed to It says that I it is a funding in there for me to allow it to get paid for community engagement. Okay. >> And furthermore, I constructed the whole entire grant. So, yeah, I am allotted money from the grant. >> Okay. How often >> that it's not a it wasn't a it was a one-time uh just like a program like to help you operate your program. Mhm. >> Like a a budget summary like you have a a special program running it. It was just money to help run the the program >> and he hasn't given you money from that at all. >> Not to my knowledge. >> Okay. Um the car do you have? H how do you have it? Did he give it to you? Buy it for you or did you buy it? >> I bought my own car. >> You bought your own car. Okay. Um cuz he's telling us otherwise. He said that he bought you the car. I don't know. Right. I'm just kind of asking what's going on, but I know arguments have started. Okay. Okay. >> I bought the car with my money that I got from working the last DCO grant. Do you want do you want the paperwork? >> Yeah, let me see the paperwork. Yeah, just to be sure. >> Do you Because of the tussling that happened, um, do you have any marks on your nails? >> I got a busted lip and broken nails. >> Can I see? >> Okay, let me see your nails. >> This one's bleeding. These are broken. Uh, the other ones are chipped off and broken. >> Okay. >> Should I show her, too? >> Yeah. Remember I had said that you're she's the main office. Okay. Okay. >> Yeah, you can show me. Yeah. >> Okay. Okay. Okay. >> Okay. Can I grab it? I'm going to go back. Okay. >> So, this happened in the hallway. >> That was that was back in November. >> Oh, this was in November. >> This happens every time I I try to get funding. Like my biggest thing is he always attacks me when I acknowledge that you do stuff for things that are not Black Lives Matter related and I sit here and work for free already. >> Okay. And you call Did you call the police when this happened? >> No, I did. I No, I didn't. I I would not like to see a black man in jail. I just try to take the bigger person route and stay away for a couple days, still maintain my sanity and and work. >> Okay. But you do know this isn't >> here's the coffee anymore though. You know what I'm saying? >> Uhuh. I do know. >> Like I know you're making your money. You're doing something. >> I'm not making I'm not making no money. You see, I always got to fight for it. Like currently right now I'm doing a I'm in the middle of a low income energy efficiency grant uh for 24,000. And that's why I'm here actually because I'm doing work in regards to that in preparation to do my events for that. And like that's the only money that's coming in around here. And like every time we do get extra money, no, you can't have anything. You have to wait till this get here or you got to wait for this. But you steady out here doing other stuff. That's the fact of the matter. That's why I was so mad and adamant about getting paid today. >> Okay. >> Because I constantly see you doing stuff for everybody else and I'm sitting here hungry, struggling with my 18-year-old. Well, he's 17, going to be 18. No, that's not fair to me. >> Yeah. >> And for you to attack me every time we talk about money, to me, that mean guilt. You guys don't have anything like signed like an agreement or something? >> Yeah, we have one for my uh grant contract and currently I'm supposed to be signing up for their workforce development uh program. Like they have a internship where they can pay me for 6 months >> because the funding was limited here. >> Okay. Why don't you go to court? Why don't you come to court to get your money and do this stuff? >> 1221. I'm still in the I'm in the middle of a project. >> Okay. >> And courts cost money. No. Oh, this was the money that I made during uh the DCEO grant. >> Okay. >> Okay. That's how I bought my car. >> Okay. All right. So, I did go talk to him. He told me kind of what happened. Um >> he didn't tell you what happened. He lied. >> He told me his side, right? I I asked to your side and then I asked his side. He >> Yeah, I know. >> So, he did say that he just wants you out of the property for now. Um he doesn't want to do like a trespass. Doesn't want to press charges. you both were fighting, right? Um, I can either arrest both of you or neither of you. And right now, I'm going to make the decision to do neither of you because you were both testing and it's been a long history of you guys fighting, right? Obviously, I'm going to give you my opinion, but you're a grown woman. You're going to take whatever you want to take. But I >> I'm getting away from here. This is the situation for me. >> Okay, good. >> Okay. And then that computer, is that yours or is that his? >> Yeah, that's mine. >> It's yours. Okay. That's also something else where you say it's yours, he says it's his. But that's not something I'm >> Because I'm still in the position. I'm still doing work. I'm in the middle of a federal grant agreement with Metropolitan's Mayor Caucus. >> Okay. Let me go talk to him. >> Um, just leave the area just for now or for today, for the next couple days like you normally do. Okay. Let me go talk to him and I'll tell him that you're going to be heading out. Okay. Just go outside with the other officer and then I'll be right out. Okay. 31 stop and what's across street. Okay, sir. She's going to leave. I did talk to her and >> Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, Chad. Uh, yeah. Get over here as soon as you can. >> All right. All right. All right. Let me talk to the police. >> Okay. So, I did talk to her. She's going to leave. I told her to leave you alone. Leave you alone for the next couple days, whatever it may be. Okay. She's telling me that there's money owed, all this stuff. But I told her that's not our department. That's more of court department. Right. Look at all these textes. >> Yeah. >> Look at all these textes. This is this type of stuff I got to go through with her. >> I mean, you're you both are grown adults, right? >> You both get to decide what you guys want to do. What I can recommend is maybe just cut ties off, you know, and that's it. And be done. >> She told me it was hers. >> That's not her computer. >> Look, I'm not black lives, not a computer. >> And she said she's in the middle of a project. The only thing that I can advise is if you want to fight for the computer and all that stuff, go through the court, right? Cuz I I can't tell her, hey, give it to me cuz there's nothing for me. You know what I'm saying? I can't prove and say, yeah, this is this isn't cuz she told me she's in the middle of the project. Pretty sure she'll be back. But what I recommend is >> you got to work on I don't I don't want to work on nothing. >> Okay, that's something that you're going to have to talk to her. Maybe not not definitely not today. Probably in the next couple days. But I did ask her to leave. Okay. She's outside with the other officer. I totally leave. >> My my other employee on his way. >> Okay. Okay. >> Cuz he had to clean this [ __ ] up cuz I ain't get ready to clean up. I can't find my herinade. >> Maybe he can help you with the new new set of eyes, you know. I hope you find it though. Would you like an incident number of what happened today? >> No. >> No. Nothing. >> Okay. >> Okay. Is there anything else I can do for you today? >> Okay. So, >> but I'm going to show you this video. >> Okay. Yeah, show me. See, I got cameras all around here. I'm coming down the hallway, right? >> Mhm. >> Uh cuz I sent it to you to uh I'm coming down the hallway. I got my hand. She just stole on me. >> 3801 or 3807. You know what I can also recommend is maybe get an order protection. >> You own this building? >> Yep. >> This is Yep. I would put your house. I would put this place. I would put everything. That way if you don't want her working for you anymore. >> Yeah. You both are. This happens often, huh? >> No, this our second child. Okay. >> That time really shocked me cuz I had my hands full. I'm walking down the hallway. She come around the corner. >> Okay. >> Yeah. see this is happening like two two time one time it's it's crazy right two times it's a little too often now that's why I'm like maybe get order protection that way she doesn't get close to you >> close to your property >> she going to text me in cuz I came in I had a meeting at 9:00 at district 60 so I came in I left and uh I came in I grabbed some files and I left and she turned around text me why you run I'm running for >> Mhm. you know. >> Yeah. >> I ain't running from nothing. This my You need to get up out of my >> Yeah, which she is. She's leaving. But like I said, order protection might be the best case. >> What you running for? Ain't nobody running out here to meet me. The hell you talking about running? >> Yeah. Do you see how this is unhealthy though? It's going to be not It happened once, it happened twice, and who knows if it's going to happen more. I don't want to we don't want to come back and have to arrest someone, right? Over something like this that can be resolved by getting order protection or someone leaving. Supposed to be helping each other. >> Yeah. Yeah. Helping each other too. That's why you guys are working together. But >> I'll head out if there's nothing else. Okay. I'll make sure that she leaves the property and hopefully she doesn't come back till whenever you guys decide to fix things if you ever do. Okay. [snorts] All right, sir. If you need anything else, call us. Okay. >> Okay. I'm going to do a
