Natural Speech Artifacts Transcript includes '[snorts]', 'uh', and 'I mean' which are characteristic of unscripted or semi-scripted human speech.
Personal Anecdotes The narrator describes a specific 5-minute struggle with a touchscreen at a physical kiosk and mentions forgetting a step in the description.

Worth Noting

Positive elements

  • This video provides highly specific, up-to-date technical instructions for navigating the complex Saudi 'Nafath' and 'Absher' digital identity systems which are often difficult for foreigners to understand.

Be Aware

Cautionary elements

  • The creator's preference for Riyad Bank is presented as an objective 'working process' versus others' 'issues,' which may be a temporary technical snapshot rather than a permanent fact.

Brothers and sisters, in today's video, we'll be showing you the process of how you can open your own bank account as a visitor in Saudi Arabia step by step. >> [snorts] >> For those of you who haven't heard the good news yet, as of September, the Saudi central bank's new regulation now allows people with visitors and or tourist visa and business travelers to open a bank account in the kingdom with their visitor ID at selected banks across the country. Alhamdulillah. With this opportunity, you will also have the ease and convenience of doing transactions with every merchant across the country, some of whom only accepted Mada bank cards for electronic payments. There are many other benefits, but this is just to name a few. So, without further ado, let's begin inshallah. All right. What you will need for this process it's a valid and active Saudi phone number, a visitor ID number which is also your border number, an active Aure and Nafat account and also your chosen bank app. All right, how can you get your visitor ID? So, in order to for you to get your visitor ID, you need to download an app called the Tawa calendar and you have to go through the process of creating an account if you don't have one already or log into your account if you already have one. So, once you log in, you're going to tap on your account profile picture on the top left hand side or on the bottom right hand side. Tap on the tab that says personal. You should see your ID number right under your name. You can also pull up your visitor ID card by tapping cards under personal. Make sure to save it for future use. All right. Once you have your visitor ID number, you will be able then to go and activate your appear account. So for that you will need to go to a appure self-service site to do your fingerprint verification and activate your account. You can find this service in different locations in Medina like in Manor Mall, Rashid Mall, N mall and also at the airport. You can check on Google for the different locations and the addresses inshallah. All right. To start, you will need to have your mobile number and visitor ID to proceed with the process. The process is really straightforward. Alhamdulillah. But you may face a little bit of challenge with the touchcreen. Sometimes you you can see towards the end how I spent almost 5 minutes standing here tapping the screen trying to mark the box to agree to the terms to finalize the process. Turns out I just needed to tap the words next to the check box. I hope nobody else has to go through this this trouble. I mean learn from my mistakes inshallah. All right, once you get your account activated uh with aure then you are good to go now to set up your Nafas account. Just to give you a little bit of background, the Nafas application is a third party identity access management application that will be used to verify and authenticate your ID through face recognition during the bank opening process. It is not only used for the bank account opening but also with many other services. So don't delete it. Keep it on your phone even after the bank opening process. I mean at least as long as you are in Saudi Arabia inshallah. Okay back to the account setup. You will use your visitor ID number and password to log in. you will not see an option to sign up but I believe that uh the credential are the same ones that you use for from the Tawakala application and Allah knows best. I'm only saying this because I I can not quite remember exactly how I set up my account on the nafas but I do remember that I didn't have to create a new password. I just had to use the password that I had on the Tawaka and it [snorts] let me it let me in. Now, oh by the way, so just a heads up, you will not be able to use the app, the Nafas app if you have VPN activated on your mobile. So that means you you have to turn off the VPN first before you start it. Okay, once you have your Nafas account set up and ready to go, then you can choose the bank you want to open an account with and download the application. Prominent banks that are now accepting this visitor ID for account uh opening such as AR Bank, Saudi National Bank, Riad Bank and Arab National Bank, Bank Al-Biladi, Alinma Bank. All of those accept uh visitor ID. But for this video, we'll open an account with Riyad Bank. Even though Riad Bank doesn't have as many branches in Medina like Araji Bank Albadi or Alimna, they are one of the few banks that have a very smooth, straightforward and working process for opening an account online as a visitor without needing to go to to go in person to any branch. and they will deliver your debit card within uh five business days after the card has been printed. Alhamdulillah, shout out to them for that one. Secondly, um even though they might not have as many branches in Medina, you know, you can still use any other banks ATM in Medina to withdraw money without fees. Meaning if you have a Riyad bank account and you have a Riyad card, you can literally go to any Raji ATM and withdraw money from your your Riad bank account and you will not be charged any fees. The only time that you will need to actually go to the branch or find a Riad Bank ATM is to deposit in money into your account. And the last thing that I find uh nice with uh Riad Bank, I'm not advertising any bank by the way. I'm just giving you my experience. The customer service from my experience is better than other banks I have dealt with in Medina. If you're thinking about opening an account with Araji Bank instead, you might need to go to a physical branch as the as the online process from my experience is still having issues processing after the NAFA authentication step. Although it is quite popular in Saudi Arabia, the process of opening an account online with them as a visitor is still a work in progress. From my little experience, if you go to the branch, you would really have to clarify to the agent that you are trying to open account an account as a visitor and yes, you've already tried the process many times through the app, then hope that uh you are dealing with someone who is willing and able to assist inshallah. All right, alhamdulillah. That's all for this video and I pray and hope that this was beneficial. May Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala bless it and make it beneficial for all for watching and make sure to share with others who may benefit from it. May Allah subhanahuaaala bless our journey and grant us all success in this life and the next. What about a
