This submission is the riskiest and most expensive one I've ever done. I spent $10,000 regrading these 20 Pokémon cards from PSA to CDC. There are some great results, but also some huge mistakes that had me holding back tears and contemplating my life choices. As always, let's go through each card, the cost, the value of each, and I'll give myself a letter grade at the end to see how I did. All right, let's get right to it. First card up in the submission is Umbreon and Dark Cry GX tag team promo card. You know they're up to no good in this card. Don't be fooled by Umbreon's cuteness. He's evil. Don't mess with this guy. >> Got in a PSA 9. My guess was I was actually going to get a nine. Mainly because in the back there is one whitening in the corner. So, I wasn't expecting much from this card at all. And CGC gives the card a 10. We're off to a fantastic start. I am going to sell this card, move on from it, take the little profit, be happy with that because I didn't think it was going to get a 10. Starting off the submission like this was great, but uh it it doesn't get so good coming up and but we'll get to that. All right, next card. Here we have Poliwrath Skyidge Hollow. This one I got in a PSA 8. I guess was going to get a 9.5. It looked very clean to me. Poliwrath is sitting on a rock staring off at a presumably some kind of aerodactyl or some other kind of flying creature. Look at his cute little oven mitts of hands there. He probably just got finished baking a nice batch of sugar cookies and handing it out to all the little Poliwag children in his village because he's so kind. CDC gives the card a nine. Okay, first card that's disappointing for the submission. Can't always guess correctly or be pleasantly surprised. That's all right. But you know what? And there's a bit of a theme to this submission. Actually am going to crack this one out. I sent it off to CDC again to test consistency cuz I really do like testing CDC consistencies because it's fun. It's a fun little experiment and we'll see how we do. There's quite a few more cards in this submission that I'm going to be cracking. So stay tuned for that. All right. So here we have Poliwrath and he's a little bit angry. Maybe the Poliwags that he fed those sugar cookies to revolted against them and said that they tasted terribly and now he's angry at them. >> How dare you insult my baking? >> My guess again was that was going to get a 9.5. And CGC, bless me on this day, please. CDC gives the card a nine. Oh, okay. That's not great. And you know what? We're cracking this one out, too. Okay, we're going to send both the Poliwraths back just to see what they get again from CDC. Okay, look, I'll take the risk again. If they give it a nine again, so be it. If they give it an 8.5, I'll just go cry in a corner, but I'll get over it. All right, let's go on to the next one. Here we have Dragon Knight Expedition Reverse Holo. I got in a PSA 8. Look at the massive foot. He looks like he's stomping on his foes and he's destroying them. DIE, DIE, DIE. >> Dragonite looks like he's cute and adorable, but he's he's kind of evil. I guess that this one was going to get a 9.5. And here we go. Another card where I'm completely surprised. CGC gives it a eight. Oh no. What? I'm cracking this one and sending it back to CDC, but at this point, I don't know what it's going to get. Definitely disappointed uh going from a PSA 8 to a CDC8 when I expected higher, but what are you going to do? You got to pick yourself back up and and continue onward, right? So, we're going to send it back and see what it gets again from CDC. Umbreon Aquapollus reverse holo. What the heck is an Aquapollus? Is there some lore, some Pokemon lore around Aquapus? This one, he looks very surprised like he just caught his former lover having a little bit of fun with another guy. >> What? No. And I actually guessed that it was going to get an eight. The back had quite a bit of issues. So, I wasn't expecting much from this card at all. This submission is kind of weird because there's some cards that like I thought were going to grade way lower. And some cards that I thought were going to grade really high. And CDC gives this one a nine. So, it's actually higher than what I thought. But still, overall, I think they're being kind of strict. I'm not going to crack this one or anything. I'm just going to sell it. Hopefully around break even or so. It It is a beautiful, gorgeous card, and these e-readers have been going up. We'll just uh you know that's okay. That's fine. Umbreon Neo Discovery Hollow. This one is fantastic. I got in a PSA 7 and I guess who's going to get an eight. Guessed one grade higher. And CDC gives the card an 8.5. So again, that's two cards in a row where CDC was a little bit more lenient than I thought they would be. That's fine. Making a little bit of money off this one, which is nice. And I'm going to sell it. As much as I love Umbreon and I want to keep it, I don't need it. I try to sell as much as I possibly can. But if I did get a, you know, a higher grade one day, maybe I maybe I would keep it. But for now, we're just gonna move on. Rockets Mewtwo Gym Challenge first edition hollow. Now, this card is a beautiful card. Once in a lifetime opportunity to own this card. Going once, going twice. Sold for $400. Yeah, this one cost me quite a bit. I got it in a PSA 8. And my guess was that was going to get a 9. And here's another one where I thought CDC was actually pretty fair because they gave the card a nine. And I am going to sell this one. Uh, so I'm going to have to say see you later on Mewtwo. See you later to you and your big clown feet. I don't know why they're so huge. You shall now perish for making fun of my feet. >> Oh jeez. No. I'm sorry. This is Lugia Neo Genesis first edition holo. And this card is a very expensive card. And this right here is the riskiest card so far of the submission. I actually regraded this already from PSA to CDC and it got a nine. Here's where things go a little bit south. Okay, when I regraded it, CDC gives it an 8.5. So, from a PSA 8 to a CDC 9 to a CDC 8.5, I lost quite a bit of potential value there. I was a complete idiot for doing this. I just wanted to see what CDC would give it again. Now, the interesting thing about this is that on the 8.5, the hollow scratches are like a lot more visible than the than they were on the 9. I guess I probably didn't notice them with cards like this that even a half grade bump have big value consequences. I actually did crack this one. I'm sending it back because I'm a degenerate cuz for every card, there's always a potential grading range or variance that a card will get. We'll see what happens when I send it back to CGC. again. Biggest regrading mistake of my life so far. I should have just kept it in a nine, but me being the idiot that I am, had to try one more time. And I guess we're going to go for another. All right, let's move on. Okay, it's the same exact card. This one I bought at a very high value because it looked extremely clean to me. And I got it in a PSA 8. The only thing wrong that I could really see with it is just some light hollow scratching. I have seen CGC 10s with worse hollow scratching. So, my guess was that it was going to get a 9.5. This was an absolute kick in the nuts. CGC gives the card an 8.5. Oh, jeez. Okay, I said I made one mistake. This was probably right up there as another terrible, terrible mistake. But I don't know what I would have done different. Like, the card looked very clean to the scans. Even when I cracked it out, it looked extremely clean. So, I was really surprised it got an 8.5. Usually PSA 8 to CDC 8.5s will net you around breaking even or maybe a little bit less. But of course for this large card, I'm losing the most money I have ever lost on a single card in a regrate ever before. So congratulations. You know, if you like seeing me fail, if you like watching me suffer, this is the video. This is the time to really take it all in. That's fine. I definitely needed some time to process this because these two cards in a row, a one-two punch right into the liver. I end up cracking it out. I'm going to send it back again. I know it's kind of silly this whole thing, but I'm going to see what it gets and maybe it'll grade higher. I'm thinking that 8.5 is hopefully the lowest it will get. So, that submission from CDC back to CDC is going to be very interesting and I can't wait to see the results and make a video on it. So, after those two cards, I know things aren't looking good. Here we have the third Lugia card in a row. This one is the unlimited Lugia Neo Genesis version, not the first edition I got in a PSA 8. And my guess was that it was going to get a nine. I thought it looked great. It looked fantastic. It's got a nice little foot swirl. CDC gives the card an authentic altered. And this is just like a cacophony of errors of just mistakes. Like this is the worst case scenario for me. I did nothing to this card. I just cracked it out of a PSA 8, sent it off to CDC. And of course, like getting an authentic altered from a PSA slab is like one of the worst case scenarios you can get at CDC. I don't even know like the right value for this. I just put 400, which I think is around like a mint raw copy. Oh man, this is just terrible. CDC said that the front surface was polished, which I guess you can kind of tell. I don't really know. So, what I'm going to do with this one, I'm going to crack it out and I'm actually just going to send it back to PSA and hope that they grade it again. I'm just really gutted at this point. That's three cards in a row, which is complete and utter disappointment. Things are really not going my way. Of course, the submission where I spent the most money. so far has been just going very poorly. CDC catches a lot of alterations that PSA doesn't because PSA does not spend enough time on checking their cards apparently. Okay, so let's go on to the next one. Rayquaza EX Dragon. This one is fantastic. Rayquaza looks so happy just to be alive. Hello. And I got it in a PSA 8 and my guess was that it was going to get a 9. Definitely a little bit of whitening issues on the back, but it didn't look too bad to me. And CGC once again absolutely cooked me and they gave it an eight, which is not great. Wow. I was actually really surprised by this one as well. Maybe I'm an idiot. Maybe I completely missed something. You know what? No, I'm not. I know what I'm doing, right? I do. I know what I'm doing. I don't know. I'm having a crisis right now. So, I'm going to crack it out and I'm going to send it back to CDC to see what they give it. So far, things are not going well really at all. But don't worry, guys. This one is fantastic. I got in a PSA 8. Look at those two beautiful buck teeth. He's having a great time. I love this card. And I guess it was going to get a nine. And you know what? CGC surprise me. They did me good. Finally. Finally. In this submission, something went my way. CGC gives the card a 7.5. Oh no. What? This is just fail after fail. I am getting destroyed. But if you look, there's like a little mark on the front right border. I contemplated cracking this one out again, but I mean maybe Maxa deserves an eight. It's fine. I'm just going to sell it as is. Eat the loss. I love eating losses. It's like my favorite pastime now. I just eat losses all day, especially on this submission. Well, let's go on to the next one. Here we have Registsteel Ex Emerald. I'll be honest, I've never really been a fan of Registel, Regge Ice, and Reggi Rock, I think, are those three. They look weird to me. I never really understood the aesthetic of these three Pokémon. He's got seven eyes. I think those are his eyes. I don't know if they shoot lasers. And I guess it was going to get a 9. And CDC gives the card an 8.5. Okay. Well, that's not great. I noticed that there is some edge lifts on the bottom back of the card. So, I was like, "Okay, 8.5 is kind of fair. I guess I'm just going to end up selling the card as is and move on." We've had five cards in a row with a profit loss. So maybe we'll turn things around a little bit. We're basically breaking even so far in the whole submission. Let's go on to the next one. Melodic EX Emerald. Beautiful melodic with your shiny sparkles. >> Hello my child. >> Was it melodic or milotic? I I've always said melodic, but I think it's actually Miloic. Either way, I like melodic better, so we're going with that. I got it in a PSA 8. Can I just say what a glow up from Feebas to melodic is. It's almost like Magikarp to Gyarados, but like the Yasified version of that. My guess was that was going to get a 9.5. Really, the only issue that I saw with it was that back top left corner. And CDC gives the card a nine. Okay. Like I shouldn't complain about that from a PSA to a CDC 9. I'm probably making a bad decision here, but I'm actually going to crack it and send it back for science, right? Just to see what CGC will give it. I'm okay. I like regrading back to CDC because their grading costs are so cheap and their turnaround times are so quick. I didn't even mention before this turnaround time for this submission was 11 business days. So for me regrading back to CDC makes sense. Like I will do it even if just to test to see their consistency. Pikachu EX Emerald reverse holo. Let me just say I am a huge fan of these reverse holos with the little stamp in the bottom. Pikachu is about to use a crazy thunder move I got in a PSA 9. My guess was that it was going to get a 10. I actually thought it maybe had a chance of a pristine 10, but I guess just a regular 10. And CDC gives the card a 10. Okay, finally. CDC gives the card exactly what I hoped for. The interesting thing about this card is that the last CDC 10 sale was like 500, but that was so long ago. PSA 10 prices have at least doubled or even more. So, I even think the value I put here is a little bit low. I think this card has a lot more room to grow. So, I am going to sell it. going to list it a bit higher because I do think it deserves to be higher than the value I put. But hey, you know, the market is the market. It's only worth what people are willing to pay for it. So, who knows? Finally, something good coming out of the submission. It's been a while. Got a little bit of a pickme up. I'm ready to keep going. Okay, I was struggling there. I was losing some energy. This is going to be a start of some really good Greek grades. I I can feel it. Okay, let's go on to the next one. Another Pikachu card. Allon Phantoms reverse holo with the Halloween spooky stamp. This is my favorite kind of stamp with the haulon phantoms. just reminds me of Halloween. I got this one in a PSA 88 and my guess was that it was going to get a 10. And the only really issue with this card was some small corner whitening, which again I know that CDC will give out tens to if everything else looks great. And in my opinion, it looked fine. And CDC gives the card a nine. Okay. Yeah, not great. We're going to crack it again. We're going to crack this one and we're going to send it back with that fun CDC regrade submission and see what it gets. It'll probably get a nine, maybe a 9.5. That's okay. Again, I just want to see how consistent they are. Espeon Delta Species reverse holo. That's I think the third reverse holo card in a row with the fun little stamp in the bottom right corner. He doesn't have to walk on the bridge. He can walk on the fence post above it. He's like a cat, right? He's got great balance. I got in a PSA 9 and I guess was going to get a 10. One of my 10 guesses has been a 10 and the other one was a nine. So CGC gives this card a 10. Wonderful. Great news. That's a nice profit. It's great to see that. I am going to sell this one cuz like I I need the money back from this submission cuz you know how horribly this has gone. Going to move on. Dark Tyranitar reverse holo Team Rocket Returns. He's in the middle of a lightning storm and he is towering over even like trees. My guess was that it was going to get a 9.5. Maybe I'm right, maybe I'm wrong. So far, I've been so off on a lot of these cards that I have no confidence left. But CGC gives the card a 9.5. Okay, cool. So, that's exactly what I expected. With the way that this submission has been going, I was kind of like, you know what? Let's crack it out and send it back just to see what happens. Why not? Let's have some fun with it. I want to see if CDC will give a 9.5 again cuz 9.5s are kind of weird. They're kind of hard to get. If it comes back a nine, I'll cry a little bit, but I think I'll get over it. That's all right. Okay. Venusaur base set hollow. I just want to get this card in a CGC 10, please. That is my goal. One day I'll get it. That That's It's all in the chase. And this has been a chase for me. This one I got in a PSA 8. And if you see the bottom left corner of this card, it's a really ugly bad corner. And I saw that. I was like, "Ooh, that was kind of hard to see on the PSA scan. I'm going to guess that this card's going to get an 8.5." TDC gives a card an 8.5. So that's actually three cards in a row where I've guessed correctly. So, it's giving me a little bit of confidence here that maybe I'm not an idiot, but I still definitely think I am because of all the other guesses that I completely whiffed on in these other cards. I am going to sell it for a loss because of PSA to CGCA 8.5. Again, depending on the card will net you a bit of a loss, but oh well. Okay, last card in the submission is Dragonite Unnumbered Promo. It's a beautiful card. I've regraded this one a few times before. I love it. He's just relaxing out on a tall hill in the nighttime sky, letting the breeze flow through his wings. I got in a PSA. Now, here's the thing. I guess it was going to get neat. And the reason why is because there was a couple of indents on the back surface that are just impossible to see on the scans. And I saw it when I cracked it up and I'm just sitting there. I I did a big sigh and I was like, you know what? This is just kind of my luck on this submission. And CDC gives the card an eight. Great. So again, I guess perfectly fine, but I'm losing some money uh because of an issue that was really hard to see on the scans. Like I said, most of these cards I buy off eBay or some other online service, and the scans can only show so much. And that's the risk you always have to take. And yeah, I'm just going to sell this one as is. It's fine. Losing some money. And yeah, not a great way to end the submission. And definitely one of my worst submissions in quite a long time. All right, let's go over the grade change stats here. So the PSA average grade was 8.1 and the CDC average was 8.78. So that's an average bump of almost.7 or an 8% increase. And I'll just say that's not great. I've done way better. So I think it was a mix of me getting a little bit unlucky with the cards having issues and the CDC grader being a little bit stricter than usual, but that's all right. Let's go on to the final results. So the total cost for the submission was about $10,500. And if I guess perfectly correctly, my value would be at almost $17,000. As we all know, my guesses are complete garbage. So, the actual value here is approximately $11,300, giving me a profit of like $800 or so. Not great at all. I'm giving myself a D. Again, not every submission can go the way you want. Also, feel free to join the Discord. There's a link in the description.
