Worth Noting

Positive elements

  • This video provides a detailed breakdown of specific shipping waves and product contents (like the lack of Ascended Heroes in Charizard tins) that prevents viewers from making uninformed purchases.

Be Aware

Cautionary elements

  • The use of high-value giveaways to drive comments can create a feedback loop where market 'hype' is artificially sustained by engagement tactics rather than genuine product interest.

This right here is an Ascended Heroes Master Set. It's got everything in it. Well, almost everything that you can pull from a booster pack of Ascended Heroes. Uh we're still waiting on a few reverse holos to get delivered and then a lot of special illustration rares. Everything is ordered. So, this thing will be done hopefully this week. It will all be put together. And that's important because we're giving it to one of you guys. One of you guys gets to win an entire Ascended Heroes Master Set already put together. No strings attached. We like to do this every single set release just as a way to kind of give back. I love master set collecting. I think it's a lot of fun. Uh and right now it's just difficult to get Pokemon cards. So, we've been doing this ever since the release of uh Obsidian Flames. Uh every new set release, the Unlucky Collector, you can follow him on Instagram at the Unlucky Collector. I think he has an Etsy shop as well. He designs the artwork and prints on these binders and then ships one off to me for free to give to you guys. and then we fill it up with every card that you can pull from a booster pack. So, if you've been having trouble finding Ascended Heroes, uh, take a shot. You know, everybody's got the same chance. So, uh, we're going to announce the winner next week, Friday, and all you got to do is comment on this video. The this this is the image of the thumbnail right up here, and then I'll link it in the description. You just got to leave a comment on that video. Boom, you're entered. uh Friday morning. I'll let the random comment picker do its thing next week and then we will award one lucky winner with the uh the Ascended Heroes Master Set. You can live wherever. We'll ship internationally. It doesn't matter. Everybody gets a fair chance. It's only one. I wish it was more, but unfortunately I could only afford so much. And Ascended Heroes pricing is really annoying uh right now because even though there seems to be like uh more product coming, it's just not enough. Like let's face it, supply is just not enough for demand. And in reality, the release schedule in general for Pokemon right now has me a little bit concerned. And that's what today's video is all about. It's about the release schedule, what to expect. It's confusing, right? Because there's so many different releases as far as these waves go, uh, Pokemon kind of got to a point where instead of rushing things and delaying things left and right, they started waving releases as a way to try and get more inventory out there, more stock out there. So, uh, it was a few sets ago. I want to say it was Destin Rival. It was after Destin Rivals. Black Bolt and White Flare, I think it was after that also. Uh, Mega Evolution, I think, was the first set where we finally had waved releases return. They did this during the pandemic where basically a product comes out uh and most stores get a little bit less than what they initially used to get and then 3 weeks later a second wave comes out which is roughly the same uh shipment. And then that in total is supposed to be a greater allocation number than what you would get prior. but it spreads things out a little bit and it keeps prices stable for a little bit longer because the wholesale pricing usually continues. Uh it's still not enough. It still hasn't done a great job. The problem with it right now from my point of view is it prohibits them from printing other things. Uh and that's what we're going to talk about in this video. You remember that uh that dip that we had in the market? It was it was for a multitude of reasons. Number one, people had lost a little bit of interest in Pokemon. uh a lot of the crowd that was buying Pokémon for the singular reason to resell was losing out a little bit on their margin. So they did kind of shift over to One Piece which caused a brief dip in the market. It wasn't anything that obviously lasted very long but it was brief. Uh the second reason behind it is because that was the holiday season and a lot of people were buying other stuff. They were buying stuff for their kids. They were buying stuff for their family and maybe the money that they typically put aside for Pokémon cards uh they were spending elsewhere buying presents getting ready for the holidays, things like that. And the third reason, and I think this is the actual main reason, uh, is the amount of product that we had was much much greater than what we have experienced. There were a ton of releases that came out, and the fact that Pokemon waved all of them meant that there was more opportunities for you to purchase cards at MSRP. So, we had the release of Mega Evolution. We had the release of Fantasmal Flames. And those were both fairly close together as far as release date goes. But then you also had a lot of stock in other areas, other ancillary products, as we like to call them, collection boxes, like the Venusaur collection box, and you had the Mega Charizard Ultra Premium Collection. And there was a decent amount of these products that got printed. And then there was an additional wave of each one of those. So, we had several collection boxes that released, including the ultra premium collection of the Mega Charizard. Plus, you had Mega Evolution and Fantasma Flames that were really kind of sandwiched together. Uh, and that that meant that the market was a little bit overloaded on product, which uh in November, December, maybe you got lucky and you were able to go to Target and actually find some product in uh the the sh like on the shelves. It didn't happen very long, right? Things kind of chilled and then got back to normal very quickly in January because we had this lull and then we had the release of Ascended Heroes. And the problem with Ascended Heroes continues to be that the only thing that released on release day was the tech sticker collections, which was nowhere near enough product to uh satisfy the secondary market. So now here we are uh in the middle of the Ascended Heroes release, and we do have a new set that releases in less than a month. Perfect order pre-releases start in just a couple weeks. And for the most part, it seems like perfect order isn't drawing a ton of interest. So you are having stores that are selling boxes closer to MSRP, not quite MSRP, selling selling for like 170, 180 or so and not necessarily selling out in a few seconds, which is a good sign. But that just means also that a lot of people are focused on other areas of the hobby like ascended heroes and maybe buying up other other areas that they think, you know, might help their investment strategy better or might help their collection better or whatever the case may be. I'm I'm actually fairly excited for Perfect Order. I think the cards look cool. I think competitively it's going to help out things a little bit in the format. It's unfortunate because the Ascended Heroes uh release day did kind of get pushed back competitively. So, the format that we're going to be having is so shortlived and then rotation is going to hit, but that's another video for another day. Uh but Perfect Order comes out and then you have additional waves of each of those products and there's really nothing else. There's not a whole lot of ancillary products that are coming out, which is going to cause issues, I think, for sets like Mega Evolution, Fantasmal Flames, Destined Rivals, Journey Together, uh because those are still technically sets that are in print in format, and it's going to be a lot more difficult to find those, which means you might start seeing those start spiking a little bit more because we're not getting all these ancillary products. Instead, we're just getting a bunch of ascended heroes and a bunch of Perfect Order and maybe like one or two collection boxes. So, I want to break things down so that way you can get a feel for what to look for because even with the waved releases, uh, and then also the additional releases of Ascended Heroes, it gets a little bit confusing. So, this kind of lays it all out for you so you know what to expect, uh, as far as what's coming out. So, let's look at the the data. Here are the things you can kind of start expecting right now. These already started shipping to local game stores, and you can kind of assume that local game stores are going to be getting stock along the same time as what big box retailers might get. So, wave two of the tech sticker collection is releasing. Those started shipping from distribution last week. So, if you are waiting for your local game store to get more stock of the tech sticker collection, probably showed up already or is uh showing up any day now and then they'll start putting them out immediately because there's no like cap uh hard cap on when you can put out a second wave of a release. It's not like there's a release day that these tech stickers, it's basically just like, hey, here's the second launch of this item. You can put it out where whenever. It's not capped like what you would typically have for a release date product. So, these come out uh second wave already kind of here. You can look for them. Now, the MSRP on these is $15.99. Obviously, you get three uh three Ascended Heroes booster packs in each one. And there's two different variants. So, you get a Gastly variant and then also a Charmander variant as well. Very difficult to find. Very difficult to find at MSRP. You can already see the market price on these on TCG Player despite the fact that it's been out for a few weeks. uh 33 $34 a piece. Obviously way too expensive. The other item that has a wave 2 that is getting released right now is these Mega Charizard tins. So there's a Mega Charizard X and there's a Mega Charizard Y. There's a lot of confusion about these. There is no Ascended Heroes packs in these. These released at like the same time as the tech sticker collection and people kind of bought them assuming there was going to be Ascended Heroes inside. That's not the case. Uh specialty sets always list their capstone products right away and all the products that are going to release. any normal release is not going to feature a specialty set. They've never really put unless it's dedicated to that set. Like Hidden Fates, for example, had hidden Fates tins uh that were released. One had a Charizard, one had a Raichu, one had a Gyarados. Uh these are just mega tins. So more Mega Evolution. So I think it's two Fantasmal packs, one Mega Evolution pack, and one Journey Together pack that are inside this. Uh the MSRP on these are $21.99. You get four packs inside, and then you get one Charizard promo as well. Obviously, like you can see the market price on these very high, but you might find these out and about because the second wave has also shipped. They shipped alongside the tech sticker collections. So, if you check your local game store or uh maybe you go to a big box retailer, they might have these in stock. Then we start looking at more Ascended Heroes. And it's not going to be for a couple weeks yet. These should start shipping next week and that already includes the second round of Ascended Heroes product that was releasing. Remember the two pack blisters that you see on the bottom there, the Larry collection and the Erica collection? Those were originally supposed to come out on January 20th, but it didn't happen because there was a delay on them. So instead, they pushed the release date back to the middle of February releasing alongside the mini tins and the elite trainer box. So these have not shipped yet. They have not come out yet, but the second wave of product will at least provide us more packs in circulation on the secondary market. And that's super important because pack prices, single price is obviously still expensive and it's difficult to find this product. Now, I'm not saying this second wave is going to come out and automatically fix those problems, but it is going to give you more opportunity to maybe find some out there and maybe some people won't go out hunting as much because they already got some. So, maybe the lines will be a little bit. I don't know. It's wishful thinking, but all you can do is kind of just hope for the best at this point. So, we get an Ascended Heroes Elite Trainer Box. Second wave MSRP on that is $49.99. Uh, a lot of confusion on the MSRP for an Elite Trainer Box. The MSRP is $49.99. That's the suggested retail price. Uh it's a lot more difficult now because wholesale co wholesale costs have gone up like 10 15 20% in some areas. So that's why a lot of stores have trouble selling it at $49.99 especially if they're online and they have to ship it. Market price on that right now is 10977. We saw very similar things happen with Prismatic Evolutions. Uh Prismatic Evolutions then did dip below $100 for an Elite Trainer Box very briefly. So you might see this come down to like $98, $99. It'll probably go back up right away as people eat up that inventory. uh especially because there's not as much attention paid to perfect order. Uh Ascended Heroes Mini Tins, I just put the display up there. Market price right now on them is $237.89. There's 10 in each uh display. So that basically breaks down to like $23.79 per tin. MSRP on those tins though is $9.99. So if you find them at a local game store or at a big box retailer for $9.99, that's awesome. Uh but that basically breaks down to $5 per booster pack, which is about the MSRP for a booster pack of a specialty set. a little bit cheaper if you're able to get the booster bundles. Uh and then same thing for the uh Larry and Erica collection uh blisters. Uh those are $9.99 as well. So that should come out right around March 13th, which is going to happen alongside another Ascended Heroes release. So March 20th, we get two products for Ascended Heroes. Now remember, Ascended Heroes didn't just get waved, it also got spread out. So there's a a staggered release schedule for Ascended Heroes. So, we had the tech sticker collections in January. Then in February, we had the mini tins, the two pack blisters, and the ETB. And now in March, we have these uh premium poster collections. These release on March 20th. Uh MSRP on them is $49.99. And then alongside that, we also have the deluxe pin collection that comes out as well. In the premium poster collection, I think you get eight booster packs for $49.99, uh which breaks down to about $5.50 per booster pack. You also get the uh mega Lucario in one and the mega attack rare uh Gardavore in uh the other. And then the deluxe first uh first partner pin collection is also ascended heroes that releases on March 20th as well. That's $24.99. I think you get five packs in there or maybe it's four. Four or five packs in there. And then you get the starters as well. MSRP on that one is $24.99. So I did see I think it was GameStop already that was like scalping the heck out of those. Very very expensive. These don't release for uh a few weeks yet. So March 20th is when these come out. Uh so right after and this is going to be a good time to start looking at Ascended Heroes. Right around this time between March 13th and March 20th because then the market gets satisfied with more product and then there'll be another time in April as well where we'll get a decent chunk of Ascended Heroes product. Then March 27th is the release of perfect order. Now uh circle March 13th on the calendar uh as your kind of pre-release for perfect order. Uh, I've been hearing a lot of success stories from some of you guys about attending a pre-release that you enjoyed it a lot, that you were really afraid to go look at one, but then that was like the best thing that you've ever done. Check out pokemon.com, type in your zip code, look to see if there's a pre-release in your area. A lot of times those build and battle kits. Uh, you get four packs, you get some cards from perfect order, and then you get some additional packs just for competing. It's not like serious at all. So, it's a really good entry way into learning the TCG, but you get to meet a lot of people from the community, which might be able to help you out with restocks. You get to formulate a little bit of a relationship with your LGS, uh, if you want to. Uh, and then hopefully that might end up like paying dividends on future product releases and things like it's just a good time and it's an opportunity to get product hopefully for a little bit cheaper because not as many people are going to pre-releases uh, as are lining up at Targets and Best Buys for some reason. So, this is uh the whole slew of products that are going to release on March 27th. The good thing about Perfect Order is it is a main series set. So, unlike Ascended Heroes, there's going to be a lot of different products that come out. You have the the booster box uh is the capstone product. Obviously, that's going to be the big thing. And there are less booster boxes for this set release than what we've experienced in the past because Pokemon is printing more of the other stuff instead. Uh, so that was something that Pokemon did communicate to distributors is that they are working on printing more of the uh smaller uh SKs so that way they can hopefully have them limited at different stores and then they can reach more people. Uh, so you get the the booster box. Uh, the booster bundle also comes out on the same day, March 27th, that comes with six packs. Your MSRP on that is going to be like $27. The elite trainer box also releases on March 27th. MSRP on that is $49.99. Then you have the sleeve booster packs which also release on March 27th. We're getting a lot of sleeve booster packs compared to what we normally get. So, there should be a fair amount of sleeve booster packs that are out and about. MSRP on that is also $4.99. Uh the half boxes are more like dedicated to the EU. Uh so, don't really even focus on those if you're located in North America. Uh the three-pack blisters, there's two different variants of that. One of them is the Chikorita variant that you see on here. Those release on March 27th. And you also have the check blisters. Uh different variants of that as well where there's one variant that has three cards inside. you have one variant that has one card in it. And then the build and battle kits start coming out on March 20 March 13th when we have those pre-releases begin. You might have them uh pre-released on March 14th, 15th, and then the following week, which would be like the 21st and 22nd all the way up until release day. And then the Perfect Order building battles don't come out officially until two weeks after release for stores that aren't authorized for pre-release events. So, there are a lot of stores out there that are authorized for pre-release events, but if you don't have uh a contract with uh Pokemon as part of their play program, those stores don't get building battles until two weeks after release. So, you won't see them in like GameStop or Target or uh your online LGS or maybe your brick-andmortar store that doesn't have leagues until two weeks after release. But, Perfect Order releases March 27th. Be patient on that set. It looks like it's starting out a little bit high, but as we get closer and closer to the release of Perfect Order, seems demand just really isn't there. And a lot of people are focusing on other things like Ascended Heroes, like Destined Rivals, which could mean that Perfect Order might might get close to MSRP, or we might finally see a set release that hits MSRP. Uh on March 27th, we had the first release of the First Partner illustration collection. So, this also comes out at the same time as uh Perfect Order. a little bit interesting because it doesn't look like it has a perfect order booster pack in it. It's got fantasmal flames and it's got mega evolution and then it's also got this series 1 booster pack. So, if you remember if you were around during the release of celebrations, they had these jumbos and they had these like uh almost like these bags that had a couple booster packs inside and then they had starters of every single generation. This is apparently the same thing that they're going to be doing this year except they're going to be releasing them as collection boxes instead. So, you'll have series one, which is going to feature, I don't know, like six of the starters that you could pull from one of these booster packs or nine of the starters. And then they'll keep releasing a new collection box, probably three series worth or something like that. So, MSRP on this is $14.99. Again, I think it was GameStop who was selling this for like a ridiculous amount. $14.99 is the price point. You only get two booster packs inside this, so don't go crazy. And then you get a a series 1 booster pack as well. On March 27th, we also have the release of this mini portfolio. Again, this is a little weird because it should be perfect order that is included in this, but it's not. Uh, so this mini portfolio, if you've seen these before, they come with one booster pack and then this little binder. Uh, it's going to be a Fantasmal Flames pack that's inside this instead of a Perfect Order booster pack, which again is very interesting. They haven't done one of these for a little while. I think Mega Evolution was the last one they did. They didn't do one with the release of Fantasmal Flames, which might be why they're putting Fantasmal Flames in this now instead of Perfect Order. But again, releases the same day as perfect order. MSRP on this is $549. Only one pack inside. Uh but for an MSRP of 549, you would only expect one pack inside. Uh just another option hopefully to get a little bit of product. And then on March 27th, we also have this weird uh blister that comes out. Pokemon usually does like collection boxes, but again, they're releasing these smaller SKs with less booster packs inside, I think, as a way to get more product out there. So, uh, this releases on March 27th as well, but again, it doesn't have Perfect Order in it, which is very interesting to me. It's going to have a Fantasma Flames booster pack in it. It's going to have a Mega Evolution booster pack in it, and it's got the Oddish Gloom V Plume line inside. It's $10.99. This releases on March 27th. So, again, not a big collection box by any means. Not going to add a whole lot of inventory to the secondary market. It's just going to add like maybe a plethora of SKS uh that that will come out. Then we have April 10th hit. So nothing from March 27th till April 10th. We might have some restocks at that time. There have been rumors about booster box reprints at that time. Looking at the restock list that Pokemon sent to Dro, there is no booster boxes on there. So I would not expect any booster box reprints at the end of March or beginning of April. That could change. Things could change and distros get different information from Pokemon all the time. Uh so the the list that I'm looking at was a couple weeks old. It did have 151 minins on it. It did have uh Prismatic Evolutions uh tech sticker collections on it. It did have some Pokéball tins on it, but it did not it did not have any booster boxes on it at all. Uh so that could be around a time March 27th, April 3rd where you get a little bit of restock stuff coming in. Uh but then April 10th, you get the second wave of Ascended Heroes. And this is where it's that other date that you want to start kind of paying attention to ascended heroes because this should be when the most packs hit that secondary market. Uh because April 10th we get the second wave of the premium poster collection. Remember MSRP on that is $49.99 which does have a decent amount of packs in it. There's eight packs I believe inside. Uh so that's going to be a decent amount of packs that hit the secondary market. And then you also have the deluxe pin collection which I think is five packs for $24.99. So that comes out in April 10th. Uh and then you also have the booster bundles release as well. So this right now MSRP on this is $26.94. Market price on this $70.16. This is going to be the most amount of ascended heroes that we get at one time because you get all those packs in the premium poster collection, the deluxe pin collection, and the ascended heroes booster bundle uh first wave. We will get more booster bundles about 3 weeks after this release. And it wouldn't surprise me if they put out more Ascended Heroes product in the future. This is the last, this is the end of the staggered release schedule for Ascended Heroes that was advertised at the beginning. They added the deluxe pin collection a little bit later on, but we have not gotten any announcements about additional product that is going to be coming. You could get a super premium collection. You could get an ultra premium collection. That doesn't happen with every single specialty set. Remember, we didn't get one for Shrouded Fable. Uh we didn't get one for Pokémon Go, but we did get one for Prismatic Evolutions. We did get one for Hidden Fates. There are like like they pick and choose sometimes what sets are going to get those bigger, you know, ultra premium collections and things like that. But it wouldn't surprise me if you get stuff at Costco, at Sam's Club. Uh, and if you get exclusive products at like a GameStop or a Walmart or a Target as well. They've done that a lot in the past also. So, I don't think this will be the end of Ascended Heroes by any means. There probably will be additional products that come out. And if you remember, Pokemon is very, very strict on making sure they reprint specialty sets to meet demand. So, they're still putting out more 151 and they're still putting out more prismatic evolutions despite the fact that those sets are two and a half years old and then over one year old, you know, respectively. So, it wouldn't surprise me if we're getting more Ascended Heroes at some point. Crown scenic we got a lot of. We got a lot of reprints of the ETB. Again, wouldn't surprise me if we got more Ascended Heroes, but this is the last of the Ascended Heroes uh releases that was kind of given to us. And then we have wave two of Perfect Order. So, same thing we looked at, you know, for the March 27th release. This is when we should get like our most amount of product that is in existence. And this is probably going to be the time to pick up perfect order. Don't FOMO on perfect order. Take your time on Perfect Order. It's going to be a small set. It should be fairly easy to master, which has me very thankful because Ascended Heroes was very expensive for me to complete for you guys. Uh I'm very excited for the release of Perfect Order in that regard as well. Uh but I think there will be a decent amount of stock left over from wave 1 by the time wave two comes out because so many people are focused on Ascended Heroes. So many people are going to be excited about those pin collections, the poster collections, the booster bundles because that gives them more opportunity to buy packs. This is going to get I don't want to say slept on, uh, ignored. We'll just say ignored out of the get-go. And then you have wave two coming out already on April 17th. Uh, and then wave two of the Ascended Heroes booster bundles, uh, is supposed to come out on May 1st. Now, you do have April 17th as well, uh, the world championship decks. I didn't put them on here. Those don't come with any booster packs or anything like that. It's just a a print run of world championship decks that uh, finished in the top last year in uh, in Anaheim. uh in Anaheim when the World Championships were in Anaheim last year. Uh so you get a handful of different decks there. It's a cool little thing. Uh they're not legal for play or anything like that. It's just a cool little paying homage to the the winners uh and the top performers at the World Championships. Those were originally supposed to come out on April 10th. They did get delayed to April 17th. So if you are somebody who collects world championship decks and you go out on April 10th and you're like, I can't even find World Championship decks, that's because they got delayed uh to April 17th. So look then. And then May 1st, you have uh wave two of the Ascended Heroes booster bundle. And then we have nothing on the books until May 22nd right now when the Mega Ziggard EX premium collection comes out. That's supposed to be $39.99. That's like your first collection box right now that does have perfect order packs in it. Now, uh I could be missing stuff. I don't think I am, but I could be missing some releases. But the amount of ancillary products that are scheduled to release, like this is a premium collection box. This is a collection box that we're used to. We're used to having a new one of these come out like almost every week, every other week. But because of all of the waved releases that we're seeing here, uh you don't really get much. You get the first partner illustration collection on March 27th. You get this random mini portfolio with a Fantasma Flames pack, and you get this two pack blister, and that's it until May 22nd. So, the additional products that are out there uh that are going to put more Fantasma Flames packs out there, more Mega Evolution packs out there, very small. And because they are so small, that means there's not any more Destined Rivals booster packs that's getting pushed out. Means there's not any more Journey Together booster packs that are getting pushed out. Means there's not any additional Surging Sparks booster packs that are going to be pushed out, which is weird because those are sets that are still kind of in print right now. So, be careful when it comes to those. It wouldn't surprise me again if we got restocks of other stuff along around this time around the end of March, beginning of April, uh where they put out more collection boxes and things like that, but nothing has been like fully announced to my knowledge yet. And you can let me know in the comment section down below if I missed something or if there are other things coming out. But it seems like slim pickings outside of Perfect Order and Ascended Heroes, which some people like. Some people don't want all these collection boxes coming out, but this does do a good job of keeping prices a little bit more stable on the secondary market. So hopefully there'll be more stuff coming. It's a little bit wacky right now because of the way that they do these waved releases. It takes out a lot of those extra products that we get overloaded with. So uh also means it's tough for distributors to kind of like stock up inventory. It'll be interesting. It's a little weird. Uh at least in my own personal opinion. You can let me know what you think in the comments section down below. Quarter 4 of 2025 was filled with 2 main series set releases and tons of collection boxes. However, Quarter 1 of 2026 has been fairly slow. The release of Ascended Heroes seems to have put a stall on different releases and outside of small restocks occasionally, new Pokemon Card Products have not released as much as we are used to. With waved releases currently a thing in the Pokemon Card Community, it can be difficult understanding what Pokemon Cards are releasing and when. In today's video, we break down the upcoming Pokemon Release Schedule so you can make the best decision when it comes to spending your collecting budget!
