Analysis Summary

30% Minimal Influence

“Be aware that the 'market update' serves as a lead-in to promote a specific sales platform (Whatnot) where the host has a direct financial interest in your participation.”

Ask yourself: “Did I notice what this video wanted from me, and did I decide freely to say yes?”

Signals

The content is clearly human-made, featuring authentic, unscripted narration with personal stories and natural speech disfluencies. The presence of specific local details and real-time social interactions confirms a human creator behind the camera and microphone.

Natural Speech Patterns Transcript contains natural filler words ('uh', 'you know'), self-corrections, and conversational stutters typical of spontaneous human speech.
Personal Anecdotes The narrator discusses specific personal details like having dinner with his son, sentimental connections to the venue, and interactions with specific fans.
Environmental Audio Transcript includes background dialogue, GPS directions ('Turn right'), and real-time interactions with people at the event.

Worth Noting

Positive elements

  • This video provides specific regional market data, such as the high demand for Ronald Acuña Jr. cards in Georgia and the increasing prevalence of non-PSA graded slabs.

Be Aware

Cautionary elements

  • The use of 'revelation framing' regarding the number of sellers may create a false sense of market alarm to encourage viewers to seek out the host's paid 'investment' systems.

We're on our way to Commerce, Georgia for the card show there. This will be our fourth one there this year. They actually, our first one was about nine months ago in April. Uh we're under a flash flood warning at the time, but we're going still going to head that way. It's always been a good show for us. A lot of great people, a lot of Braves fans there. So, we're looking forward to it and we'll give you some updates as we go through the day. >> Yeah. Turn right, then turn right. >> And just started. It's going to be a smaller cl crowd. This kind of looks like you're >> Okay. You want wave just between me and you? >> Yeah. He's watching. >> Oh, yeah. >> He'll be in the like not crazy but like >> I didn't think I was It's about 2:00. >> Okay, guys. I just want to do a quick recap of this show. It was awesome, as it always is, from a the standpoint of the people in attendance. the crowd. I thought it was going to be a lot smaller than it ended up being. It started out small, but it just grew continuously as the day went on. Ended up being maybe one of the biggest crowds ever at this show. So, the crowd was good. I hadn't anticipated that based upon what we were seeing in the morning, but it was a great show. Just a quick recap for you. Couple of things. Sentimentally, it's probably our favorite show from a sentimental standpoint because it was the first show Don and I ever did in the state of Georgia about a year ago, a little bit less than a year ago. So, it's it's got some connection there. Plus, it makes sense for us to make the trip to go because our son lives right there and we can always have dinner with him after the show and spend some time with him. From a financial standpoint, this has never been one of our great, you know, our big shows, but it's always been it's like borderline because it's it's it's, you know, it's a couple hour drive to get there and a couple hour drive home. But the combination of the great people that are always there, really good saw the earth people, we love the people at this show, that standpoint plus the fact we get to have dinner with our son afterwards, it makes sense. Here's what I found at this show. This was the first show that we've been to in the last year. There was more people looking to sell to sell cards, people coming up, are you buying than any show that we've ever done over the past year. And I don't know why. I'm not sure if it had been before Christmas and people were maybe looking to get some cash for Christmas would have made sense. But it's January, Christmas is over. So it was kind of shocking to have that many people ask. I'm really not sure why, but we did. It was It's no It doesn't bother me at all. I looked at a lot of cards. We made a lot of great trades. We bought a lot of cards. At one point in the in the beginning, I had bought more than we sold, which, you know, that's fine. But it was just kind of interesting from that standpoint. It was probably 50 to 60% Pokemon and TCG which the a year ago there was maybe five or 10% the first time we went to that show. So, but that's the way it is everywhere. It was kind of cool. I don't know if you probably saw in the video I asked this kid to just wave at the camera. He was one of a few YouTube viewers, people that watch this channel that we met at the show and they said, "Hey, I watch your YouTube videos." which doesn't happen a whole lot. But this this young man was just very polite, just a a a good young man to speak with and talk to. And I appreciate anybody that says, "Hey, we watch your YouTube." It means it means more than people realize. So, I told him, "Make sure I'm going to get you on camera and make sure you see the next review." So, hey buddy, wanted to give you a shout out. Look forward to seeing you at the next Commerce show. We ended up, we sold a lot of iconic cards from our showcase. We sold the Griffy Jr. upper deck. We sold the Bo Jackson shoulder pads card, several other Bo Jackson's. We We have a Braves box that we made. We went from a two row to a three row Braves box. Sold a ton of cards there. Our 15 dollar slabs were moving all day long. We did extremely well with those. I found it interesting that in the state of Georgia, we sold every Roman Anthony graded card, every Roman Anthony graded card that we had and we were selling them for about PSA comps and they we were using and both all three of them, you know, we saw one for 45, one for 80, one for 60 and they was they were all close to PSA comps, but none of them were PSA graded. They were all from alternative graders which I found very interesting. We also sold an abnormal number of Ronald Akuna cards because I think a lot of people like myself that follow the Braves know that Ronald had a really good year last year, but he missed the first month. And if he starts off the year healthy this coming year, you know, is he gonna have another 4070 season? Who knows? But he's a talented talented player. and we're all looking forward to seeing him have a full year of being healthy. And I'm assuming that's what's going on because we sold we always sell a lot of Ronald Kuna in Georgia, but we sold an abnormal number at this particular show. So, that's just kind of a wrapup of the of the show. I do want to let you guys know Don and I have decided to add whatnot to our DND sports card business. We're doing two whatn not shows every Tuesday. And if you're on whatnot, if you buy cards on whatnot, we would appreciate it if you stop by, you know, follow us. It's dndportscards.com. Follow us, look us up, follow us on whatnot. give us a chance to earn your business. We would appreciate it. Again, every Tuesday at 12:15 around noon and then at 8:15 in the evening. If you're watching this, you're saying, "Dale, I can't believe you're doing whatnot." I promise you. I get it. I understand. First three or four times I went on whatnot, it was like a goat rodeo. loud music, cursing, people fussing and cussing and it was just, you know, come up begging for business, just begging people to to place a bid. It was like I was surrounded by greedy and needy people is the way my perception of it. I promise you, our show is different. We do trivia. We do we're focused on collectors and we would love a chance to earn your business. And again, if you're just Dale, I'll never go on whatnot. I get it. I would I'd ask one favor for you. For you check out the video that we have on this channel. Here's the the the the thumbnail for it. It's called buying sports cards on whatnot without wasting time being cussed at listening to vulgar headbanging music etc etc. All sellers are not scumbags. by giving it one more chance makes dollars and cents and it does and I hope you'll take the chance to watch that video if you're anti whatnot. I get it. But that video I hope you'll find value in that. And most of all if you are buying on whatnot we Don and I would really appreciate you coming by and you know introducing yourself saying hi and we're figuring out the back end. We're trying to put together a show that people enjoy attending. So mark us down Tuesdays. Tuesdays our whatnot day. We hope to see you there. You guys have a great one. We don't have another show booked right now. It's it's cold. I don't like cold weather. So we're kind of there. I know there's one coming up in Calhoun, Georgia in March that we're looking at attending. We may do something. We probably will before then. But you guys that watch these reviews, I hope you enjoyed it. As always, your comments and feedback are appreciated. God bless. Have a great day, night, wherever you are in the world, and we'll talk to you on the next one. >> [bell]
