Analysis Summary

“Be aware that the 'debunking' of complex legal and financial hurdles is designed to make relocation feel accessible to everyone, which builds the necessary interest for their paid consultation service.”

Ask yourself: “Did I notice what this video wanted from me, and did I decide freely to say yes?”

Transparency Mostly Transparent
Primary technique

Performed authenticity

The deliberate construction of "realness" — confessional tone, casual filming, strategic vulnerability — designed to lower your guard. When someone appears unpolished and honest, you evaluate their claims less critically. The spontaneity is rehearsed.

Goffman's dramaturgy (1959); Audrezet et al. (2020) on performed authenticity

The transcript exhibits clear markers of authentic human communication, including spontaneous speech disfluencies, personal emotional reflections, and unscripted conversational dynamics between two people. The content is deeply rooted in personal experience rather than formulaic AI-generated scripts or synthetic narration.

Natural Speech Patterns Frequent use of filler words ('um', 'uh', 'like'), self-corrections, and natural conversational stumbles that are not characteristic of synthetic voices.
Personal Anecdotes and Subjectivity The speaker shares personal feelings ('I have never felt more safe'), specific choices ('I don't drive, but that's my choice because it's scary'), and mentions specific friends and family.
Dynamic Interaction The transcript shows a natural back-and-forth between two speakers, including interruptions and collaborative sentence building ('right now visitors are able to open their bank only >> right yeah').
Contextual Nuance The content references very recent, specific local law changes (Saudi bank account laws from 'the past month') delivered with a personal perspective rather than a generic news summary.

Worth Noting

Positive elements

  • This video provides a first-hand expat perspective on recent Saudi visa changes, such as the ability for visitors to open bank accounts.

Be Aware

Cautionary elements

  • The video minimizes significant legal and financial risks of 'living' on tourist visas to create a low-friction path toward their paid consulting services.

Asalam alalayikum everyone. So a lot of people really really want to move to Medina, have a strong desire to move here um but they're just confused about like um things they've heard about moving to Medina. So in this video we're actually going to talk about um five misconceptions or myths about moving to Medina and why those are not true inshallah. >> All right. So the first misconception is uh when people say that you're not able to move to Medina because there's no way to move permanently. That is a misconception because a lot of people actually move temporarily and they benefit they still benefit from Medina from the blessings of Medina and praying go and make and we know a lot of expats that do that and it's actually not that hard. Um there are a lot of like short-term uh housing here. You can book like short-term housing. Um you can like rent a car. you can get like uh short, you know, visas that allow you to stay for a few months at a time. So, you don't have to move here and and make it like a permanent thing. Um, which is not possible for many people. >> And also, you can get like a visitor phone number like they know that people here like there's a lot of visitors here that stay like 6 months at a time. Um, you know, with with the fact that the US offers a 10 year, the UK offers like 5year visas. Uh there's people that stay like three months at a time, six months. So they have a lot of services for visitors. Uh you can get like like we said phone number, you can get a car rental, you can get short-term rentals that are not just like Airbnbs, but like actual like rental apartments. Um short-term what else? There's a lot of things. You can get a visitor um ID as well and you can use that to to get like Wi-Fi which is like of course that's like it's limited because you're a visitor so you don't get the benefits of having um you know anama but there's also um visitor like health insurance a lot of them come with getting tourist visas it's like um health insurance too >> right now visitors are able to open their bank only >> right yeah and now actually Saudi just came out with a law just the past month that um visitors can open bank accounts here, which is a huge step and a huge win for visitors. So, moving here doesn't have to be this big permanent scary thing if you can only come here for like a few months at a time just to benefit from living in Medina or like we know some family and friends who will like um come here, stay for like 6 months and then live 6 months, you know, back home. Uh because, you know, people still have work and people still have obligations back to where they come from. So it doesn't have to be this big scary thing. Like we've said in previous videos, if you can come to Medina for any time and benefit from it, go to Masawi. Those are free. They and they accept visitors. And uh you know the massagid also have local massagid have for kids also accept visitors. There are a lot of like accommodations and stuff for visitors here where you can come and learn under the as well. Another big misconception about living in Medina and Saudi in general is that women have no independence. As a woman, I'm here to tell you that this is a myth. Alhamdulillah, like I have never felt more safe, more uh respected, more like honored and being able to do my own thing than here. Like, yes, I don't drive, but that's my choice because it's it's scary. But I know a lot of friends here that do drive and, you know, they're they're doing it. you can drive. There are a lot of women on the road now. Like it's it's crazy. There's a lot of women and they women work. Women go to school. There are universities for women here. Um you can do just about you can do anything by yourself. Actually, I'm not I can't think of anything you can't do by yourself. Like as a woman here, I see women all the time grocery shopping by themselves, walking in the streets by themselves. In banks, there's like a women's section and a men's section. They give like women their space to be like comfortable in public. um you know like restaurants and things they give you like privacy and so the myth is that like women are like you know not important here and not like honor no women are honored here and women are respected here and yeah truly have not felt this level of respect and anything um especially in the US than I did here. All right. So, another misconception is um that you need to be able to speak Arabic, that you need to be fluent in Arabic uh in order to, you know, live here and deal with everyone and deal with the people, which is not true at all. Um knowing Medina, you have a lot of expats, people from all around the world that live here, different cultures, different languages. Um, but like especially like English, you'll get by. If you know English, uh, you will definitely get by. Here in u, Medina, we know so many expats that come here with no Arabic at all and they just make it. Mah, they they go to local markets, they go ni, they, you know, they go to um, banks and they they do everything, you know. >> Shout out to you guys. May Allah reward you guys. I think about those expats all the time that just come here with no, >> but they're like doing life here. >> Yeah. and they learn Arabic and you know they make it happen. So Arabic is not going to be a barrier for you to be able to live here and uh do anything. It's you'll you'll be fine you know with a lot of expats around and especially in Medina you know being kind of like an international city where people come here and live here from all around the world uh you'll be able to communicate with people. >> There's like signs and stuff everywhere. >> Yeah. In different languages and yeah and like English is everywhere like you see English everywhere. Sometimes I forget that like it's not the language here because there's English everywhere. >> You can also learn Arabic. It's very easy. There's a lot of resources. You know, MUI has a lot of durus uh for free. Um and uh uh there are a lot of private durus as well. A lot of private lessons, Arabic lessons. You have uh they do offer Arabic. They have uh they actually opened up a new like uh like institute for Arabic as well as the Islamic University of Medina. Um so mashallah so many resources to learn Arabic. >> Okay. Another misconception about moving to Medina is that you have to be like really religious or like this perfect Muslim to move here because it's the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam city. So we have to be like very religious. No I honestly think that people that need Medina are people who are not very religious and and have like that pull to be more religious. Um coming to Medina you get like this uh sakina here. you get like so much um love for the dean for the prophet wasam. you see you really see the positivity of Islam and the beauty of Islam here um through like examples through people through kindness through like just being able to worship um >> and build your iman like you know >> by worship and going to and subhan >> allah >> yeah you can't help but be religious so you don't have to have like really strong iman to live here you just have to come with an open heart um and you know ask Allah for haya for guidance and I I really truly believe like the more you're exposed to like beautiful things here in Medina like hearing the adan so much seeing people flock to like the massid for salah seeing everything slow down during salah time seeing dean prioritize here you cannot help but feel like iman in your heart so if you are like struggling dean wise and stuff I think that medina is actually the perfect place for you and not some place that you don't belong just because you don't have like a certain level of e >> right guys so the last misconception of moving to Medina is that you have to be like super super rich or you have to have a lot of money to be able to move. And this is something that we've actually seen from our comments in the videos, our previous videos of people like, well, you need to have a lot of money to move or you guys have a lot of money, that's why you guys are able to make it. >> Um, but it's not true. This is a mis misconception. Yeah. So, like, of course, you need money to, you know, to to move here and settle and get a house, get housing. But subhan Allah, there's so much baraka here that um there's there are a lot of ways to save and live on a budget. So there's there are many ways to save uh many ways to get like cheap stuff and get by and a lot of people live on a budget and we know we know a lot of people that live on a budget and alhamdulillah there's so much baraka in Medina you know from the dua he said alah so subhan allah yeah you don't have to have a lot of money you don't have to be rich um and Allah will make a way subhan allah you you'll be able to live here benefit and uh and be happy, you know. And then like there's a lot of giving. Like that's what I noticed here in Medina is like a lot of people give. Uh you you'll get a lot of free stuff or things for like so cheap. It's not like you're living in a super expensive city. You're not going to um be spending a lot of money. You can literally like go out a full day with with barely spending anything. You know, >> maybe we should do a challenge. >> Yeah, we should do a challenge. >> Let us know if you guys want to see that. I would I would love to challenge myself cuz just like a cup of coffee is like almost 20 y actually sometimes more. So I would love to see if we can go a full day of like actually going out and stuff not just staying home cuz if you stay home or like at the lowest we can go. I I think that would be cool. If you guys want to see that let us know in the comments. So those were like the top five misconceptions that we could think of for like moving to Medina based on our comments um emails just talking to people. Those are like the five that we came up with. Um, if you guys have more ideas or like more things that you think could be a misconception or that you believe, let us know in the comments. Maybe we can do a part two where we answer you guys' uh misconceptions, inshallah. And uh something very exciting is um alhamdulillah, we launched a consultation uh service where cuz we've actually been getting a lot of emails you guys and like people in comments like, "Can you help me with this?" And not just here on YouTube, but we we get DMs on Instagram. We have um DMs on like um Tik Tok. We have just all platforms where people will find us um especially through email. They're like can you please help me like figure out how I can move to Medina specifically like for their situation and a lot of them are like I will you know pay you for your time. So we've been able to make some time not a lot so that if you guys look at the schedule it's actually not like you know uh like a full day availability type thing. Um, we've made uh several slots inshallah a day where we will take consultation calls and we can answer you guys' questions about like moving to Medina or like if you guys have any specific questions. We do know that it gets like kind of confusing. You hear things like from news sources, then you hear things online, from social media, then you hear from other people. So, if you guys just want to like um kind of just talk and ask us like, you know, what about like for my situation, how should I do this? what's better or this or that. We'd be happy to answer those and you guys can find that link in the description below. And if you are male, we do ask that like you indicate that you're male so that you can talk to Sahed here. And if you're a female, inshallah, I will be taking the call myself. So definitely check that out if that's something that interests you, inshallah. >> All right, and we'll see you guys in the next video. >> [music]
