Analysis Summary
Ask yourself: “What would I have to already believe for this argument to make sense?”
Moral framing
Presenting a complex issue with genuine tradeoffs as a simple choice between right and wrong. Once something is framed as a moral issue, compromise feels like complicity and disagreement feels immoral rather than reasonable.
Haidt's Moral Foundations Theory; Lakoff's framing research (2004)
Worth Noting
Positive elements
- This video provides specific, actionable details on Saudi labor laws, the impact of Saudization (Vision 2030), and the logistical requirements for changing visa statuses.
Be Aware
Cautionary elements
- The use of religious terminology to categorize entire nations as 'land of kufr' creates an emotional 'push' factor that may bypass a viewer's critical assessment of the financial risks involved in international relocation.

Alhamdulillah. Dear brothers and sisters, many of you have reached out asking how to find work or build stability in order to make your hijra to Medina. We all want a hijra that is longlasting where we don't ever have to worry about returning to the land of Kuf just to make money. Because yes, while moving to the land of Islam is one part of the journey, staying here and maintaining stability financially, emotionally, and spiritually is another. So, in this video, we're going to talk about how to sustain your hij through different means of income. Make sure you stick around because we'll be sharing some resources with you. Uh before I start I would like to make a disclaimer. Let me just be clear because I can see the comments and emails that will be coming already. We are not expert. We are just simply sharing whatever little insight Allah has blessed us to learn along the way and the few resources he has guided us to come across over time. And we hope that it will serve as something beneficial for anyone sincerely trying to make hijra for the sake of Allah or anyone already on this path but still seeking guidance. With that being said, let's start with the most common way people try to sustain the hijra which is through employment in Saudi Arabia. Finding work here can be very challenging but definitely not impossible. You just need to understand how things function in the on the ground. If you don't if you didn't know, Saudi Arabia vision 2030 is the kingdom's plans to diversify its economy and create more opportunities uh for Saudi citizens focusing on fields that serve the country's long long-term goals like technology, tourism, renewable renewable resources and education. So part of this plan is Saudis. What that means is that uh many jobs that used to be open to foreigners are now reserved for Saudi nationals. So if you're planning hijra and thinking about work, it's important to be realistic. Jobs that are gradually becoming fully sodized by 2030 vision include administrative roles, HR, retail, banking, and hospitality. You can see the full list on on screen over here. If you're wondering what does this means for experts? Well, it means you will want to focus on fields that are still in demand, not completely sodenized. If you're planning to come here, jobs in education, technology, healthcare, digital marketing, translation, and specialized consulting tend to still have openings for foreigners, especially those who bring valuable uh experience or have native English skills. So, if you're still in school or planning ahead, it's smart to gain skills in area that Saudi is looking to grow, inshallah. It's also worth noting that quote unquote low lowpaying jobs in Saudi such as cleaning, taxi driving or other labor based role that don't necessarily require higher education are generally reserved for citizens from third world countries like uh Pakistan, Bangladesh or Afghanistan and other countries. So these roles are not available to westerners. So again, it's important to have realistic expectation when considering to work here by the permission of Allah. Being physically on the ground in Saudi makes a big difference though a lot of opportunities don't necessarily show up online. They are often found through networking and personal connection like meeting people at the masjid, speaking directly to schools and businesses or even connecting with local families. Many people apply for jobs from outside the country and never hear back. But once here, it's easier to network, meet people, and find opportunities you may not see advertised. So sometimes it's not about your resume, it's about who Allah allows you to meet to be a means for you to be blessed with something. With that being said, be aware that most of the large companies are mostly based in Riyad or Jeda. This means that there are more jobs opportunities in those cities. Of course, this doesn't mean that there are no opportunities in Medina. At the end of the day, it's whatever Allah blesses you with and decrees for you. Alhamdulillah. It's important that uh you are also aware of the fact that if you are offered a job while on a visitor visa, you will have to exit the country and re return to your home country to go through the process of attestation among other requirements in order to reenter Saudi Arabia on a work visa. The process may take up to six months. So, plan accordingly. All right. A a quick tip uh a good tip to know to help you inshallah stand out among recruiters in your search is make sure your your CV is very detailed and includes a small professional photo on the top corner. Employers in the Middle East seem to prefer this. Another tip is that native English speakers are highly sought after in Saudi Arabia as long as you have the basic qualification which includes having at least a bachelor degree in any education or teaching related subjects like math, English, science or even IT and also have certification or licensing from your state or country to teach. This certification or licensing can be either uh delta B delta SELA or TFL or TOEFL. So the certification requirement has become very important over the last few years especially for getting sponsorship for an work visa. Basically, if you're underground, you can go in person to international schools in Saudi Arabia to inquire about job opportunities. Here is a list of popular international schools here in here in Medina. And one of the biggest benefit of being employed by a company or a school in Saudi is that uh the employer can sponsor your economy which means that you will have legal residency as long as you are employed with the company. This is something very valuable especially for those wanting to stay longterm. Having an ECMA allows you to rent property long-term, buy a car, enroll your kids in public government schools, acquire uh government medical insurance, and many other benefits. So, some employers might also be able might also include benefit packages such as accommodation, monthly allowance, and health insurance. So all depend on the the employer that sponsor you and also if you are searching online and wondering where to start applying for jobs, LinkedIn could be your best starting point. We've also gathered a list of other popular jobs, search sites and agencies for Saudi Arabia and the Middle East in general to help you inshallah. All right. Sometime you may take all these means and you're still not able to land a job. So which bring me to my next option is probably looking at getting a remote job. If you have skills in teaching tech in technology design or writing or marketing working remotely may be another option for you and uh it's convenient really it can be a convenient option as well if you can live wherever you like while working for a company abroad. This option gives you flexibility and independence but it does sometime comes with uh some challenges like for example time difference because depending on where your employer is located you might find yourself working early mornings or late nights. However though many family finds it very you know worth it especially if the pay is stable and it allows them to live in the land they love. So, alhamdulillah, if you go this route, remember that since your job is outside Saudi, you'll most likely be entering the kingdom as a visitor, not on a work visa. This means you'll need to figure out another way to get residency if you plan to stay longterm. We also gather a list of remote job sites to help you in in your search. With that being said, I would like to now talk about one of the best and most sustainable ways to build stability and support yourself long term on in my opinion which is of course owning a business. I really want to emphasize this part. If you're intending to make hijra, start thinking about building a business early. It can be an online business which honestly is more flexible and has become more and more easier to start up and run. Um there are countless ways to earn online whether it's through selling digital products, offering services like coaching, teaching, content creation or e-commerce. Or it can be a physical business based in Saudi, which is also great if you have the means to set it on your own or have a local Saudi partner to support you. Really, having a business can be a means of giving you some financial freedom, independence, and peace of mind by the permission of Allah. You're not necessarily tied to a job that you can lose at any given given moment. You're building something that belongs to you. Something that can grow and benefit yourself and others. And remember doing business is from the the sunnah of the prophet sallall.aii wasam and his companions. And many of them were merchant and traders. Uh business at is one of the most blessed profession when it's done with taqua of course. So the beauty of today's world is that technology has made starting a business easier than ever. You don't need a huge capital or a team. You just need to have the skills or the passion for something. It can either be something you enjoy or something you see the people are in need of. If you're not sure how to start or where to put your your focus, we advise that you simply just look around you. What do you see the people around you struggling with? What do you wish existed to make your life easier? Business ideas are often just solution to problems. And if your intention is sincere, meaning if you're doing it to benefit or remove a burden from your Muslim brothers and sisters seeking the pleasure and reward of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, then know that Allah will bless it for you. No doubt. Remember, it's not about becoming rich. It's about creating a means that allows you to live with dignity, provide for your family, and continue your hijra without depending on others. It's also important to keep in mind that anything can happen by the decree of Allah subhana wa ta'ala. And having a business may be something you can leave behind, be in or pass down to your children if Allah blesses it. May Allah protect us and our progeny from the trials of this dunya and grant us all good ending. All right. Another thing is that if you are a foreigner who wants to start a business here in Saudi, you can do it with 100% ownership in many sectors especially if it's tech education or cons consulting. Alternatively, you can also partner with the Saudi which can sometimes make the process smoother and less costly. The main steps include registering your business with the Ministry of Investment, getting a commercial registration, and applying for a business license. A benefit of starting a physical business in Saudi Arabia is that it's one of the ways you can acquire residency as well and also sponsor your family. This type of residency allows you to live and work in the kingdom without needing a sponsor through a company or job. All right. So what I want you to take from away from all of this is that uh instead of thinking what can Saudi offer me maybe ask yourself instead what can I offer my to my brothers and sister in Saudi that would bring value to the country and also help me and my family stay in the country inshallah. If that is clear I would like to mention a fourth options uh which is investment. Investment is also a great way to build long-term passive income by putting your money into something halal that will bring continuous benefit like buying gold and reselling it, buying land and putting it to work and supporting new projects and businesses of Muslim brothers and sisters which allows you to benefit from their returns in in the future as well. The benefit of investing is that it allows your wealth to grow even when you're not actively working which can make really your hijra more sustainable over time by the permission of Allah. All right. After talking about all these options, I do want to mention one one last important thing which is building multiple streams of income. When you make your intention to set out and set out for hedra, you have to always be ready because things can change quickly and unexpectedly. A job can end and the business can slow down. So it's always wise to have more more than one way that you know to sustain yourself and your family by the permission of Allah. For example, you might work a remote job while also running a small online store or teaching a course. or you might have a local business in Medina, but also invest in something beneficial elsewhere. The goal isn't to overwhelm yourself with too many things because it's also really important that you have the time for your family and for seeking knowledge of the religion. So the goal is to create a balanced system where your risk come from different direction without you having to do much. So you can have financial security, stability and freedom by the permission of Allah. All right, that's it for this video. But be before I close off, I want to mention something very important. All these options that we mention, jobs, remote work, business, investment, all these are just means we take to try and sustain ourselves, but the outcome is entirely in the hands of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. You might apply for a 100 jobs and never hear back while someone else gets hired through just one connection. You might start a business and takes time and it takes time to grow or it might even take off overnight. Remember what is meant for you will never miss you and you will never attain what wasn't written for you. So Allah opens door in ways we can't imagine. He blesses each one of us differently. Our role is to simply take the means, put our trust in him and keep moving forward with patient and tawa. So whether you're looking for work, planning to start a business or already living here and trying to find your footing, keep renewing your intention and trust that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will make a way for you. We hope you leave this video feeling optimistic and with some ideas already brainstorming. Our goal with this channel has always been to inspire and keep the hope alive and never to discourage anybody sincerely seeking to make hijra because at the end of the day Allah is the one who makes way for whoever he wills never give up keep making dua keep seeking nearless to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and trust that whatever he decrees for you that is what is best may Allah subhana wa ta'ala bless all of us with abundance of halal risk grant us stability in our hijra and allow us to live in his obedience wherever we are.
