Analysis Summary
Ask yourself: “What would I have to already believe for this argument to make sense?”
Urgency framing
Creating artificial time pressure to force a decision before you can think it through. 'Only 3 left!' 'Act now!' The technique works because genuine scarcity is a real signal, so the urgency feels rational even when it's manufactured.
Cialdini's Scarcity principle (1984); dark patterns research (Mathur et al., 2019)
Worth Noting
Positive elements
- This video provides a quick look at specific product ingredients and pricing at Costco, which is helpful for budget-conscious shoppers following a whole-foods diet.
Be Aware
Cautionary elements

Costco has three new items you should buy now. Well, this is new. A protein pesto bowl pre-made for you already with perfect Bobby approved ingredients. Complex carbohydrates, rice, quinoa cooked in seed oils, no olive oil, real veggies, organic parmesan, 12 g of fiber, and 13 gram of protein. Right on. For an easy side dish, four packs for that price, I'll buy it. Do you smell it? Oh man, it's the peppermint soap from Dr. Browners. I love this stuff because they use real peppermint oil, no perfumes or fragrances, and no scrubbing agents that are really irritating to your skin. They use olive oil, coconut oil, and palm oil. This is my favorite soap that I scrub a dubdub in the tub with, and it has a great price. Here at Costco, I would scoop this for sure. Someone please tell me the deal with Dubai Style Everything. What is the deal? Well, this is a Dubai style cold brew, but according to the Bobby approved app, it's not approved because we have the dreaded natural flavors, which is the biggest lie in the grocery store. So, I'm going to put it back. I just don't understand you buy. But if you don't understand something at the store, scan it with my free food scanner app. It highlights bad ingredients, tells you why they're bad, and then gives you a better recommendation at the bottom. My mom used to have one of these multilevel steamer baskets. They're very useful. And number one, they're made of bamboo, non-toxic, and it has this stainless steel rack that fits small pots up to large pots. This is great for reheating food, steaming, and making Asian dishes. For $17, that is a blast from the past and a very useful tool. And my friends, give me a follow. This is what we do all the time. Go to your favorite stores, break down what's new, make sure they're good for you and I.
