Are you new to the carnivore diet? Well, these are 20 items that are carnivore friendly at your local Costco. Costco is the secret weapon for carnivore dieters because hidden in the huge warehouse are some specific items that are perfect for the carnivore diet. So, today I'm going to show you all of them. Let's go. My name is Brad and I am the butcher wizard. I teach people how to save a ton of money on meat. And if you are a carnivore dieter, you are the person I'm talking to. If carnivore dieters only eat meat and I'm the meat guy, then we are best friends. And today I'm going to take you shopping with me at Costco. So we got lots to do today. Let's get right to it. Let's get right to one of my favorite things about Costco. They recently rolled out for the executive membership and yet they're an hour early. So, instead of opening at 1000 a.m., they open at 9:00 a.m. So, you get a head start on getting all the things you want before the crowds come in. As you can see, this is where I parked at 9:00 a.m. And this is where I parked at 11:25 a.m. You can see the difference. You can't even hardly see the Costco. I'm so far away. I'm actually in a different parking lot of a shopping center that only can see the Costco really small. But again, getting this extra membership is actually very beneficial. Now, if you're looking at the executive membership, it's $120 per year. So, I'm just saying it's extra cost, but they give you 2% cash back off of every purchase you make throughout the year. They give you that cash back check right around your time your membership is ready to renew. So, I did the math. So, you have to spend $6,000 in a year to have them pay for your membership, which is quite an hack, by the way. Costco will pay for your executive membership. That's a lot of money. Well, if you really break it down, it's $115 per week. And if you're going to do this carnivore diet for the whole year, Costco is going to be your best friend. It's going to be the place you get all your meat from. you're definitely going to spend that $100 a week so that you can get your executive membership paid for by Costco. And who knows, maybe you want your new tires or maybe you want a new TV. They got a bunch of stuff in there that's has nothing to do with food. So, that is my best hack to getting into Costco for free throughout the entire year. I This is the Butcher Wizard channel, so of course I'm going to take you to the whole Subprimmoal Cuts first. One of my favorite cuts in the whole place is the strip loin, which is where you get your New York strips from. It's the whole piece of meat that they cut New York strips. It is so good to cut your own because you're going to save a ton of money. Watch this. The whole strip loin is $9.99 a pound. But if I slide over a little bit, they have precut New York strips for $12.99 a pound. Hm. That looks like $3 a pound right there. Just by taking the whole strip loin, taking a knife, and cutting these to size. You just cut whatever thickness you want. It's that easy. There's really nothing more to it than that. And you save $3 a pound right off the bat. Man, this is Hey, this is pretty good. We How How long are we in on the video? And I've already saved you a ton of money. You're welcome. I still got 19 more to go. Stay with me. Right. Next, we're going to go to the flat iron steak. Now, I was super happy. This is not too long ago, a couple months ago, Costco started having these flat iron steaks. It's kind of their effort as the beef prices go up to have more uh cost effective cuts. This is like a secret cut. The chuck is known for being a little tough, but this is like a secret cut in. It is a long cut, kind of like a flank steak, but it's super tender. It's more much more tender than a flank steak. It doesn't have all those muscle fibers in it. If you grill it to medium, it is a beautiful cut of steak. It takes a marinade really well. Like it is a great cut that nobody knows about. So get yourself a flat iron steak. It's $9.99 a pound at my Costco and it's really good. So pick up one of these flat iron steaks. Go for it. Next we move to the pork section. So this is one of my favorite sections. This is where you're going to find the most cost effective meat uh that you can at Costco. So the pork shoulder is awesome. They come in a two pack. They're actually boneless at Costco, which is kind of different than some other places. The pork shoulder is actually great for making sausage because it has the 80% lean to 20% fat ratio already. So, it's it's just perfect if you want to go ahead and um put it in the slow cooker to get to get shreddable pork for carnitas, something like that. Um if you want to throw it on the smoker, again, it doesn't have a bone, so it's going to be a little different than doing a bone in pork shoulder, but it's still super good and super effective. The pork loins are great if you want to cut pork chops. They got pork bellies. There's all kinds of pork in there that is great for the your carnivore journey. And fat, so you're going to have a lot of satiating protein. So that is what's crucial on the diet. So go ahead, do not sleep on the pork section at Costco. Before we get to the number four product at Costco for your carnivore journey, I want to formally invite you to the Primal Cuts Club. If you are a carnivore, the best thing you can learn to save money is to cut meat yourself at home. And I'm the guy to teach you. The Primal Cuts Club is my private membersonly community in which I will personally teach you how to save money by cutting meat at home. We have video tutorials on every cut you can think of. And we go so deep and I have these top- down videos in which it's kind of like a culinary school class. I actually used to teach culinary school and this is the closest I have seen to a culinary school level butchery class on the internet. We also have twice a month we get together for live video Q&A calls. Some of the calls are live cuts where we'll have a whole ribeye for instance and I'll show you how to cut it up and answer questions all the way through. Some are Q&A sessions in which if you're getting stuck and you need help you can ask me directly. You can also connect with other people who are like-minded and who love meat as much as you do. So, here's my formal invitation to all the Carnivore community. Please join the Primal Cuts Club. I cannot wait to see you on the next live call and learn more about you. So, go to the link in the description and I will see you there. All right, one more thing about the Primal Cuts Club and then we'll get back to the video. Um, so you decided as a carnivore that you want to learn how to cut meat yourself. That's the best way you're going to save money. Well, I need to give you some tools to get started. So, if you sign up for the Primal Cuts Club, I'm going to give you two free gifts. The first one is this 10in breaking knife from the Butcher Wizard collection. So, it is a 10-in knife, nice and long, so that you can cut whole ribe eyes, whole strips, chuck rolls, all the things you need to cut, you can do with this knife. And I'm going to give you a 12in slicing knife from the Butcher Wizard collection. Once we cut cook, we need to slice to we can so we can eat. So this is the next knife you're going to need. So I want to make sure you have all the proper tools so you can start your meat cutting journey. Now this is a $120 value between both knives. So I'm giving it to you for free if you sign up for the Primal Cuts Club. I just really want you in there because I think you're going to get a lot out of it. Go ahead and hit the QR code or the link in the description and you can be part of the Primal Cuts Club. I really can't wait to see you at the next live call. I want to get to know you. So, hit all the things. Let's get back to the Costco shopping trip. Next, let's talk about chicken. The dirty bird, as my former culinary school instructor used to say. Costco has all the different chicken you can think of. They boneless, skinless chicken breasts. They have organic chicken. They have wings. They have everything. This is one of my favorites when you're on the carnivore diet is the bone in skin on chicken thighs. So, you're going to get the fat from the chicken skin. You're going to get the um added collagen from cooking on the bone. So, it is a great thing to do and it's also the most cost effective which is really nice. So, this is a great package to get. You can also make chicken broth out of it. You can do a lot of other things with a bone in uh piece of chicken. So, this is a great thing to have when you're on the carnivore diet. All right, let's talk about ground beef. This is the cornerstone of anyone's carnivore diet because it it's easy to cook. It's easy to buy. You can buy it anywhere. But here's what they have at Costco. They always have this, which is their big package of um ground beef. It's 8812. So, that means it's 88% lean, 12% fat. So, it's not very fatty. Um, they also had grass-fed ground beef. So, I know some people on the carnivore diet might be wanting to more go to grass-fed beef. So, they have a 8515 that is completely grass-fed. So, you have a couple of options here. Again, one of my favorite options, too, when you're on the carnivore diet is learning how to grind your own ground beef, which is not hard to do. It takes a little bit of special equipment, but not that much. It's it's actually easier than you think. And I will put a link in the description about a video that I have about how to grind your own ground beef. And that way you can control the fat ratio. If you want a fattier ground beef, if you want a leaner ground beef, you really can control those things. But um but yeah, you need to stock up on this because this is going to be your go-to meals. Um on those quick days, on those like I need a quick lunch or I'm hungry, I need a quick dinner or something like that. Ground beef is going to be your best friend. So um Costco's a great to get ground beef. Let's go on the next one. All right, for number six, we're just sliding a little bit more down into the seafood section. We're going to pass the tilapia and the salmon, all the other things. And I want to give you a little bit of a new twist. Muscles. Muscles are a great food, especially if you're on the carnivore diet, because it's the whole animal. It they're high in all kinds of vitamins and minerals, and it it's a really great food that people kind of overlook. It's very simple to cook. You throw your muscles in a pot, you put some water, you put some chicken broth, whatever kind of flavorful liquid you want on there, let it steam for five minutes and they open up and then you pick the muscles out and you dip it in the broth and it's so so good. So, it's delicious and nutritious. And again, it's a little right turn. You're not going to see this on every carnivore grocery haul video. I bet you no one was talking about muscles, so you should get some. And especially at Costco, the price is great. Check them out. Next, let's talk about the crown jewel of Costco. The thing that everyone thinks about other than the $150 hot dog, but that's some that's a different altogether. Is the rotisserie chicken. It's $5. It's a whole rotisserie chicken. Five bucks. What are we What are we doing here? You need to get one of these. Now, it's perfect for pulling off all the meat, shredding it, making into a chicken salad, just having it for a lunch, pulling off the different pieces of meat, slicing it, having a great meal. Then you use the bones and you make chicken stock with it. I know, crazy, right? You get meat and bones. That means we're going to make a dinner or a lunch and chicken stock. We're simply going to throw in the bones to a pot and then you're going to add water above the bones. And if you're strictly carnivore, that's it. That's all you're going to do. Simmer for four to six hours. Let everything happen. Nice slow simmer. Let all those all that flavor, all that collagen just come out into the broth. And then you have a delicious chicken broth that you know, my favorite thing to do with chicken broth, especially in the winter, is just to have a hot cup of it and sip it like it's my cup of coffee. And it it's just nourishing. This is what you need to do. Get you a Costco chicken. Eat the meat. Make the bones and chicken stock. Boom. Five bucks. You can't beat that. With the rotisserie chicken. I'm not done yet. If you move on down into the prepared meat section, they have prepared shredded rotisserie chicken in a vacuum-sealed package. So, if you don't want to go through all the hassle of picking your own all the meat off of your own rotisserie chicken, you can go buy just the meat and then do whatever you want with it. meal prep it. Whatever you can think of and dream up, you can put on your plate with this pre-shredded rotisserie chicken. So, I there's no excuse not to leave Costco without some sort of form of rotisserie chicken. All right, number eight. We're sliding into the prepared foods. So, I got to get some shrimp cocktail. There's no chance I'm not going to leave Costco without some shrimp cocktail. It is one of my favorites. It's They're cooked perfectly. If you're a strict carnivore, you want to throw away the cocktail sauce, but maybe squirt some lemon on it because we're not getting too crazy, right? So, you do a little lemon, little salt, and they're so so good. So, shrimp cocktail is one of the best things you can do if you want high protein. Um, they pack the most protein per ounce of any other any other protein that I've seen. If you're eating shrimp on a regular basis, you are ahead of the game. Up that protein, you got this. All right, let's next go into kind of the convenience foods. One of my favorites if you're a carnivore is the roasted half duck that's in that section. So, it is exactly what it says it is. It's a half duck that's been roasted and it's very good. So, you go ahead and you stick in the oven and it crisp it up a little bit, crisp up the outside of the skin. It is great if you need a quick meal. You pop it in the oven 10, 15 minutes, just heat it through. It's already fully cooked. It's a really good uh busy day meal. You're a carnivore because you can't just go to Chick-fil-A. So, I need a quick meal. So, boom. 15 minutes. I got a half roasted duck. I love duck. It's so good. If you haven't had it, go give it a try. On to the next one. All right. The number 10 product that you should get at Costco are these steak bites. So, I saw these pop up a couple a month ago or so, and they used to have little chicken bites, which were little pieces of already cooked chicken. Well, they added pre-cooked steak bites. And you look at the back of the package and there's not a ton of crazy ingredients in it. It's like steak and salt and that's it. So, it's a really good onthe-go. Having a little package of steak bites that we can throw in the microwave and have really quickly and get that meat in and get that protein in is a bonus. So, these steak bites could be something that's quick and easy for you to do on the go. What is that? Number 10. We're only halfway through. Oh my goodness. This is a lot of stuff, you know. Stick with me though. I got a lot of more cool stuff coming. So, we're going through the whole Costco. So, stay with us. All right. Number 11. We're going to go into the smoked salmon area. And I say that because Costco has a lot of different variations of smoked salmon. And they have this one that's my favorite, which is the smoked sckeye salmon. It's thinly sliced. It's salty. It gives you all those things you want from smoked salmon. And again, it's already pre-done. So, you just open the package, go ahead and grab some pieces, put it back in the fridge for tomorrow morning or tomorrow afternoon. It's super convenient and it's delicious and it tastes really good. And when you're on the carnivore diet, we cannot live and die by the cow. Obviously, I love beef. But if that's all you're going to eat is beef, it's going to get real monotonous real quick. So, you got to throw in these other things. Smoked salmon, great quick way to do that. On to the next one. All right, moving on for convenience foods. We are going into eggs. So, this is kind of like the accessories. Like, we're not talking about beef or chicken or pork. It is the eggs. So, we have two different types of eggs at Costco. They have a few others, but these are two of my favorites. So, this one is an organic pasture-raised egg, which um is kind of my everyday egg. When you do scrambled eggs, this is what I'm doing. Now, they also have these heirloom eggs that are blue eggs, and the yolks are so much more yellow than the rest than these other eggs. So, these are the ones I will do like if I'm doing a fried egg, if I'm doing a poached egg, um if I'm really taking my time with the egg, these are like the prime beef of eggs. So, this is your choice grade of eggs, and these are your prime grade of eggs if I'm comparing it to the cow or to beef. All right, number 13 is shrimp. Now, I know I talked about shrimp cocktail, but this is raw shrimp. And there's a little bit of in the frozen food section, you got to really kind of go through frozen shrimp because they're a little bit different. So, the first thing you want to look for is see this number right here, 3140. What that means is there are 31 to 40 shrimp per pound. So, the smaller the number, the bigger the shrimp. These are my favorite, the 3140s, because they're really good to like sauté. Um, they're not huge because they also have like they call them U15s, which are under 15 per pound. Those are like mini lobsters. And that's not always what you want. I want to have it. I want to sauté it. I want to like have a bite of shrimp, not like a whole shrimp. You know what I'm saying? The next part I'll look at is these are the 3140s that are raw and tail off. Conversely, right next to them is this bag where it says farm-raised raw tail on shrimp. So, what that means, I'm going to have to go through each one of these shrimp and pinch those tails off if I want to sauté them. And I have to tell you, this is like one of my pet peeves. I I hate this. Um I hate tailon shrimp with a passion. When I go to a restaurant and I'm having a dinner and then they give you the shrimp with the tail on, I am like, it drives me nuts because I'm in my nice like clothes. I'm a suit on. Maybe if I'm have take my wife out to dinner, maybe I'm dressed up, right? The last thing I want to do is get my little fingers into the dish and peel off those uh tails. I hate them. I hate them with a passion. I I I just can't get over it. All right, number 14. We're going to talk about butter. So again, in the refrigerated section, but this is like another pillar of diet is butter. So again, like the eggs, you want to spend a little bit of money on your butter. So there's the Kerry Gold. They have salted and unsalted. That Irish grass-fed butter is going to be the best offering they have at Costco. They also have the Kirkland brand grass-fed butter that is also a little bit cheaper. So look at that as well. I mean, there's so many better options, but uh those are the best ones. What are we at? Like 15. How many has this been? How long is this video? Like, thank you for being here. I really appreciate it. This is hard. This is a lot. I'm going to lose my voice. Hopefully, I keep it for the rest of the video. Let's see. All right. So, next we're going to go into the dairy section. So, um there's a new product that Costco just put out, which is a sheep's milk plain yogurt. I know some people have a problem with cow milk and cow dairy. So, I wanted to just give a a little love to the sheep. If you're on the carnivore diet, getting some of those good bacteria in your gut is never a bad thing. So, also think about that when you're on the carnivore diet. All right, so next we're going to dry goods. You can see we're making the loop around Costco. If you've ever been to a Costco, you know it's like a big uh circle that everyone you can't go against the current at Costco. Don't ever do that. You're going to get trampled. But so I'm in the dry good section and let's talk about salt. There's a lot of different salts they have and my favorite is the pink Himalayan sea salt. Um it's a finer salt. It's not going to give you that crunch that kosher salt does, but it's going to give that higher mineral content. When I'm trying to get that crunch on the steak, I do like kosher salt, but for most of my cooking, I like that pink Himalayan sea salt. You're going to put it on your table and be like, "What's that salt? What color is that? Where'd you get that from? Oh, did you go to the Himalayas? Maybe you did. They'll never know. All right, number 17 is beef tallow. So, there is a pre-made beef tallow in the dry goods section, and it is grass-fed and grass-finish. You're concerned about grass-fed or grain-fed. This is what you're going to need. So, you can sauté steaks in it. You can sauté chicken, shrimp, whatever you want to. It's going to impart that beefy flavor, but it's also, you know, it's going to be grass-fed. If you're not as concerned about the grass-fed issue, then also check out one of the videos I'll put in the description where I made my own beef towel. So, I used the trimmings from a ribeye that I cut and I made beef towel out of it. So, go ahead and check that video out. It's a great way to use your extra trim if you are doing these big cutting projects um that are on my channel. So, go ahead and check those out. Make some beef tallow. If not, go ahead and get the one in the jar. is still gonna be better than your like seed oils and all the other stuff that people put in that sauté steaks in or or sear steaks in. You're going to be ahead of the game. All right, in the snack section, let's talk about beef sticks. Now, I have full transparency, I am more of a jerky guy than a beef stick guy, but the trend is going to beef sticks right now. So, there it's it's a little fattier. Um it's a little like snap it to a slim gym, even though we don't even touch slim gyms. Don't get me started on slim gyms. But if you are a kid from the '9s, you know about snapping into a slim gym. But now we have grass-fed slim gyms from Chomps. They have ones that are um the beef sticks. Really good ingredients. Um they're grass-fed. It's really good. If you go next to the Chomps, even Costco's getting in the game with their own beef sticks that were a little bit cheaper and the same ingredients. Number 19 is sardines. We're so close, people. We're so close. 19. We're almost at 20. So, sardines are a great convenience food. You pop them open, just eat them out of the can. It's it's super easy to they're also omega have they're also rich in omega-3s. So, that is something that could be lacking from an all beef diet is omega-3s. You get that fish oil. Boom. These are packed with it. Number 20. We made it. So, number 20 is bone broth. So, this is a pre-made bone broth from Kettle and Fire. So, if you don't have the time to make your own uh chicken broth, beef broth, or whatever, you can buy it already pre-done. And like this is not like I'm going to throw it into a casserole. Wait, we're not doing casserles, right? Cuz carnivore, okay? This is not like your cookw with kind of uh chicken broth. This is like I'm going to sip it. It's their fancy bone broth. You can either buy it or make it yourself, but again, it's a essential staple on the carnivore diet. All right, everybody. We made it. all all 20 of your carnivore essentials that you're going to get from Costco. Thank you so much for coming with me next. If you want to go deeper into how to cut meat, I'm going to get this video next where you're going to see how to cut your own chuck roll. So, we've gone from buying all the meat to now cutting our own. I'm going to show you everything there is to know about a chuck roll for carnivore dieters. So, check that video out next. We'll see you on the next one. I'm going to go take a nap or stop talking for a little bit. This has been a long long time.

I am going to show you 20 essential food items you will need as a beginner carnivore dieter. This is not an exhaustive list but a curated list of my favorites. Carnivore dieters only eat meat so that they can improve their health. Most new carnivores vastly limit their options causing monotony. The diet can then be hard to stick to long term. These foods will give the new carnivore dieter the variety they need to stick with it. __________________________________________________________ Order your copy of Primal Cuts Today Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Primal-Cuts-Selecting-Preparing-Perfecting/dp/1628605995 Barnes & Noble: https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/primal-cuts-brad-baych/1146655556 Bookshop.org: https://bookshop.org/p/books/primal-cuts-a-butcher-s-guide-to-selecting-preparing-and-perfecting-beef-brad-baych/d9ccb9425343fee9?ean=9781628605990&next=t Books a million: https://www.booksamillion.com/p/9781628605990?cjdata=MXxOfDB8WXww&AID=10747236&PID=8373827&SID=PRHEFFDF5A7F1--9781628605990 Black wells: https://blackwells.co.uk/bookshop/product/9781628605990?a_aid=bestsellerbooks&srsltid=AfmBOoqM65z05M07UEeUZDsZLgEuCkFtEZF3XLDcGA9ZJ_O4Nw9EI-I4 __________________________________________________________ The Butcher Wizard Collection of knives is now available on Amazon.com.
