How's it going, YouTube? Got Fourth TCG here, and today I have an interesting video for you. I have my first CGC return in years. I only sent cards to CGC off once when it first started grading. I have not sent off cards until now. Uh, but I wanted to diversify away from PSA for a variety of reasons. Um, and I'll discuss that in this video, as well as these returns. So, I've got 57 cards here. Without any further ado, let's get into it and show off what I sent off. Uh, one of the reasons why I wanted to use CGC, I was considering using CGC is I feel PSA has been pretty tough recently, especially on stuff like older English cards. U, so I sent off some of my cards to uh CGC that I thought would do better with CGC. Uh, so here's an example. this near mint mint plus 8.5 on this Rayquaza uh stamped reverse from Delta Species. This is a really really cool card. I've had this for a while in a binder. Um I didn't think it would do well at PSA. Got an 8.5 at CGC, which is about what I was expecting. Um so pretty happy with that. This is still a really nice card and I'm I'm very happy with the grade on uh on that. So, [clears throat] continuing here, got a mint nine on the Cradon hollow from EX Dragon. This had a couple of minor scratches. I felt like nine was a pretty fair grade for a card like this. So, a lot of the cards that I sent off were kind of mainly to test what CGC what their grading standards are because they've changed since I graded with them. Uh, originally CGC was a lot tougher on cards. It was very difficult to get nines and especially tens. Um, you know, 10 was was CGC had a 9.5 gem mint and then they had uh pristine 10 and perfect 10. So tens were really difficult. Then they changed over to the new grading scale that they have now. Near mint mint eight on this WherDx. This was this had a lot of scratches on the front. Um, it's kind of I don't know if you can kind of Yeah, you can kind of see it there um through the slab. It's It's pretty scratched up. So, Near Mint 8, the the back is really clean on this card. CGC has like their their packaging kind of gets everywhere on these cards, but back looks pretty clean. So, really just with that scratching eight. Uh, good to know that this is kind of what CGC is giving cards like this. U PSA, I think this would be like a seven or something like that. Um, so happy to get that. Happy to get the eight. Here's a great one. Gem Mint 10 on the Deoxys from Halon Phantoms. Another reason, as I mentioned, that I was uh that I'm trying to grade with CGC a little bit more now is just that I feel like they're more consistent and more understandable than PSA in their gradings. Uh this is a regrade from PSA. I have a couple of cards in here that are regrades from PSA. I'll try to mention them when I uh when I remember them. Uh PSA gave this card an eight. So that's what PSA saw for this card. They gave it an eight and CGC gave it a 10. And you know, I might be biased because I think the card is in great condition and it's one of my own. So, you know, take what I say with a grain of salt. I do own the card and I do benefit if it grades higher uh emotionally and financially. But I feel like this card is a 10. Um, I was surprised that it didn't at least get a nine at PSA and then a 10 at CGC kind of reinforces the idea that I uh I I knew what I was talking about. Uh, mint nine on the Beeon reverse. Again, this was pretty standard, pretty expected. This is kind of uh this is what I was expecting on this card. Has some minor dings here and there. Again, you've got that CGC. Uh the slabs are plastic, so they're uh they've got they all this stuff sticks to them. Uh but it's it's not damage on the uh on the slab or anything. Just kind of needs to be wiped off usually with like a microfiber towel. But mint n sounds good. I was uh happy to get that grade back. I feel like that's accurate and fair. Again, that's mainly what you're looking for is accurate and fair grading. um 8.5 on the Greninja Gold Star. I think this is a regrade from a PSA 8. Uh again, so not everything goes massively up with CGC. Uh I thought this was a pretty nice card, but I guess you know two if two grading companies disagree with me, then I'm probably the one that's wrong and not them. So continue on here. got mint nine on these Secret Wonders. And you know, I'm not sure if I'll put up values for these cards. Probably not, just because I don't really know the CGC market on these cards. They're not as established as PSA. Uh maybe on some of the bigger cards, I'll put up values, but I don't think I don't think it makes sense to for every single one of them. Did send off some full arts. This is a regrade from a PSA 6, so it went up to a seven. Um, so you know, one point bump in grade. I again, I'm just I'm not kind of doing this as a systematic, you know, matchup of of grading standards because I'm pulling cards that I think deserve higher grades. Um, so seven, I'm happy with that. Again, you know, I thought it was maybe an eight plus card, but again, if two grading companies disagree, then I'm probably the one that's wrong. Uh, this was also a PSA 7, so this went up to an 8.5. So, we got a 1.5 point bump on this Gardevore, which is nice. Um, you know, happy to happy to get a little bit of a bump. I'm not sure if it would sell for more in a CGC85 than a PSA 7. Um, and again, you got to factor in that I paid $20 to PSA to grade it originally, and then I paid, you know, 11 bucks to CGC to grade it again. uh near mint 85 on the dark ride. This is another one that I was just kind of testing out. Um but good to see the uh good to see the grading standards there. All right, mint plus 9.5. Sometimes CGC's grading skills confusing. They've got like 95s. They've got 0.5s all the way up to 9.5, which is kind of I feel like PSA kind of has it right where they just do they don't do all that many.5s and then they just do nine and 10. Um cuz you know you've got mint, mint plus, gem mint and pristine are all in the kind of yeah that that top level condition which I don't know if you can distinguish between the two or the four who knows. Um, yeah. So, this one, this is kind of an exemplifier of of a reason why I'm sending some cards to CGC. Uh, PSA is quite tough on centering these days. I feel like really any off centering makes it difficult to score a 10. Um, this MW is a little off center. Not all that bad, but still, I thought kind of visibly offc center left to right. might be within the bounds for PSA 10, but I decided to send it to CGC because if this gets a nine, you know, I'm really not getting anything in terms of uh profit um from PSA. You know, the 10 from CGC, it might not it's not going to sell for as much as a uh as a PSA 10, but sometimes it just uh it it works out and you want to optimize by which grading company you send to. Snorlax got a 10. This had like again some centering and just some minor, very minor issues that I thought PSA would not give it a 10. Uh, but we did get the 10 with CGC, which is nice. I think I, you know, this came from a 151 ETB that I opened myself, so that's nice. All right, got some old back here. Oo, this is one that I'm very happy with. Um, so if you if you've viewed the channel before, if you've watched a bunch of my returns uh from a while ago, you'll know that this card I've had this for a while. I've graded it with PSA three times, and each time PSA gave it a five, and I have no idea why. Um, I looked this card over super closely, super cleanly. Uh that's again sort of stuff on the uh on the slab. And I could never find anything wrong with this card. You know, obviously there's some minor things. It's a it's a card from 25 years ago. Um but I could never find anything that crease, a dent, anything that would warrant dropping this card down to a PSA 5. Uh and we got four points of of a bump from CGC up to a nine. um which I agree with. You know, I I've looked this card over super closely and every time I could not find anything wrong with it. Um so I'm very happy that CGC's agreed with me and said there's not a crease or dent or major flaw in this card uh to bring it down significantly and has given me the nine grade. Uh this one is definitely staying in my collection. I'm very happy that again I've gotten a professional grading company to agree with me that this is a mint card. I was very lucky to get this card for super cheap way back in the day. Uh, shining muse are a lot more expensive now and this will go uh part of my Japanese shining collection which has been slowly pretty slowly growing. Um, so very happy with that and again regrade but up four points from uh from what PSA said previously. Got the Sabrina's gaze. This was this came back as a mint nine the band Sabrina's gaze again. I don't really know how much this is going to be worth, but I was thinking, you know, probably like a PSA 8 or something on this. It's offc center. It's got some minor damage. Um, so getting a nine with CGC is is good for that. And I think again, that was one of the centering ones that I said, you know, I don't really want to mess with centering with PSA. 8.5 on the Town on Nomap Arcanine. This again had some edge wear and some, you know, I think it's even got like a little ink dot, a little green ink dot up there. Um, so again, you know, going through this, I'm feeling like CGC is grading fairly, right? That the cards that are that have flaws are getting lower grades. The cards that I don't see anything wrong with are getting higher grades. Uh, I'm generally agreeing with CGC on on most of these grades, and I feel like I'm doing it more so than with PSA. [clears throat] Here's a really nice card. Mighty Annenna Holland Research Tower Delta Species Gem Mint 10. And again, this is centering top to bottom. PSA, that would be an automatic nine. Uh but CGC is definitely a little bit more lenient on the centering, which I which honestly I think is good. Um again, it's it's a different grading scale. It's not really something you can match up one to one, but yeah, here's an 8.5 on the Golden Sky Silver Ocean Hound Doom. I think this had some edgewear or something. Um, that probably brings it down. Don't know if I'd grade this an 8.5, but again, you know, you're not going to be satisfied with everything, but on the whole, I'm I'm feeling pretty good uh with CGC. This is a great one. Kyogre EX Gem Mint 10 from the ADV promo set. Cororo promo. And yeah, you can definitely see on the centering here, off top to bottom, maybe even a little bit off left to right. Uh, but we're still getting the Geminment 10 grade, which is which is nice. Um, so again, this is definitely not going to sell for as much as a PSA 10. Uh, but probably I'll get a premium over a PSA 9. Uh, and again, when you pay $10 to grade a card or a little over $10 as opposed to $20, you know, that means I can I can sell the card for less uh and I can I can make more profit. Uh, so 8.5 on the Dusttox CX I think's against just some edgeware on this card brought it down. Yeah, I think just some minor stuff here and there is uh doesn't look too bad, but some minor stuff brings it down. Did get a gem mint 10 on the Dusclops. Really nice card here. Yeah, and I've I've mentioned this and and I'll I'll keep mentioning it when I submit to CGC again. Um, just the kind of risk of sending to CGC is a lot lower because the prices are lower. Uh, Gemment 10 on the Sharpedo. Grading is definitely a riskreward thing. You know, with CGC, you pay less to grade the cards. You get them back uh faster, uh, which is very nice. But if you if you get a 10, uh, it doesn't sell for as much and it takes longer to sell them. Uh, CGC slabs are definitely not as liquid. But got a gem 10 on the Diala Level X. This is an awesome card. Again, really the only thing wrong with this was that it was a little bit off center. Um, so I think, you know, a 10 is a very fair grade on the CGC grading scale. Uh, yeah. So happy with that. Love this foil pattern. It is an awesome card. All right, here is our first gold label. And if you're a CGC enjoyer, you know what the gold label means. It is a pristine 10. So, one level above gem mint 10. Pristine 10. Got the gold label. Got the gold foil there. And it is a pristine 10 on this beautiful Kagimaru Emo Molt trace which is just amazing. Uh this is a really really nice card. I was very excited to see this come back with the P uh pristine CGC 10 grade. Uh yeah this was this was awesome. I'm very very happy with that. And more interestingly, we got another pristine and it is a pristine 10 on this Pikachu from Advent of Arus. Again, you can see the centering just a tiny bit off. And again, I sent this to CGC because I was not confident that this would get a PSA 10, and here we are in a CGC pristine 10. Um, which just goes to show you, I mean, again, CGC's grading is accurate. Like this card is super clean. There is like nothing wrong with this card at all. This came out of a complete platinum set that I bought from Japan. Uh where almost all of the cards have graded really highly at PSA. Uh so this is a really mint mint card. Uh, so the the pristine doesn't surprise me uh with there being a little bit more leniency on the uh on the centering at CGC. And what do you know it? We've got three pristines in a row. Next pristine is the Arus, the psychic type holo with this crazy holo pattern from the lightning psychic deck. So that's really sweet. really happy to get a another pristine 10 on that. This RCUS, this one's very offc center. You can definitely see that border is pretty big compared to the bottom. Uh and I do think this was a nine probably because of the centering. Uh you know, even CGC they have a standard for centering at some point. Uh this is where I'm kind of finding it. So I definitely think this uh was a nine mainly because of the centering. back looks pretty clean. And then, yeah, we've just got that kind of dust that uh that comes with the cards. [snorts] Stack them up here in the right way. All right. Next up, again, this was just kind of a test. Some cards I sent off just as a test. This card is, you know, falling apart in the corners, as all of these Diamond and Pearl shinies do. Uh 6.5. Again, this is a this is an accurate grade. This card is not in good condition. I definitely say excellent condition. Um, so 6.5, I'm I'm fine with that. But again, just look at this beautiful card. Um, I'm probably keeping this in my collection because come on, even a 6.5 is just a it's just a fun card to have. And, you know, is it worth it to sell? Probably not. Uh, not going to make that much money on that card. I I gain much more enjoyment from the uh from the card itself. All right, this is a big one. Pristine 10 on the Guiritina full art from Dragon Blade, Dragon Blast, sorry. Uh this is this is fantastic. This is another grade. Uh this was a PSA 8. I believe PSA gave it an eight twice. Then I sent it off to CGC and they gave it a 10. And not only a Gem Mint 10, they gave it a pristine 10, gold label 10. And again, I agree with PSA or sorry, I agree with CGC. This card is super clean. I don't know what PSA was seeing when they gave this card an eight. It's really, really nice. Uh, so I already have a PSA 10 of this card in uh in my collection in my black and white flirt collection. So this one will be for sale. Um, I don't even know if a pristine 10, you know, generally you would think that a pristine 10 would out sell a PSA 10. Uh, I don't know if on like the really really popular and expensive cards like that guarantina, it does. Um, I'll have to do some research. I am I am very knowledgeable with PSA market prices. I'm not as knowledgeable with CGC. We got Ldios here. Gem mint 10 from Dragon Selection. Was very happy with this. Um, yeah, black and white hollows. I've had a little bit of difficulty getting tens at PSA. Uh, more difficulty than I would like to have, especially given the values of them. Um, so maybe some of them uh being sent to CGC is a good option. Got another 10 on this awesome Hydragon from Thunder. Super cool card. So, very happy with that. Next up, Fiery Torch Gem Mint 10. Don't really know if this is going to sell all that well. Um, but again, like my outlays for these cards are the cost of the card plus, you know, 10 bucks in grading fees, you know, give or take a couple dollars in shipping and and uh eBay fees and so forth. So, I could sell that card for, you know, I'm making profit if that card sells for like 35 bucks. Um, and in a 10, maybe it sells for a little bit more and I'm and I'm making, you know, 5 10 bucks in profit. And you know, with CGC, you don't have to sell them for all that much. You don't have to make up for that $20 in grading fees um that you paid for, which is good. So, near mint 8.5 on the Lugia. This one definitely had some wear on it. You can see in the corners and the uh and the edges there, but still a nice card. I do have these in uh in PSA 10s. But again, just kind of wanted to test out the uh test out the grading standards. Send a variety of cards in a variety of conditions uh to see how CDC assessed them because that's especially when you're grading a lot of cards uh with a company, you want to have a good understanding of their of their grading scale and their grading standards so that you can make the best decisions about what's good to send off. Um, awesome CGC10 white cur from the legendary dream shine collection. This awesome cowu artwork. I love it. Uh, this has been in a uh in a few sets and it's it's really cool. Um, yeah. So, this was this submission was mainly just to get a handle on their grading standards. Um, see how they treated different cards. This one, mint nine, had some minor issues, minor edge wear here and there. Um, kind of hard to see with the uh with the dust, but yeah, this was a uh this is a really cool card. And I was Yeah, a nine is an accurate grade. Uh I thought it would get a nine at uh at PSA and I, you know, wasn't really sure about paying $20 to, you know, get a nine on a Japanese card at PSA. Uh this is also a regrade from PSA. was an uh an eight previously at PSA and it's an eight at CGC. Um I couldn't find too much. There might be that little I don't know if that's Yeah, that's on the That's on the slab. That's Yeah, that's not on the card. Um maybe a little lifted corner there. That might be an eight. I don't know. But yeah, again, when when two grading companies disagree with you, um they're usually right. So, near mint eight on the Gallade full art. And next up, yeah, 8.5 on the Evvel EX. Um, this one, I think it used to be a nine with PSA and I thought I'd regrade it and this one actually went down. Um, so, you know, CGC doesn't just upgrade all of your PSA grades. I think I saw something. It's It's hard to hard to see. I think I saw kind of like a a scratch right in this area of the card here. Don't know if it shows up on camera. Uh but 8.5. So again, it goes to show that, you know, TGC isn't just giving you blanket better grades than than PSA. Um, Canon does go down in value or not go down in value, go down in grade. Probably does go down in value, too. I I'd get a lot more selling that card as a PSA 9 than a CGC85. So, that was not a good regrade decision on my part. Uh, Froaky GX Ultra Shiny CGC10 Gem Mint. Pretty nice card there. Um, not sure what this will sell for, but again, my my outlay on these cards is low. Again, cost of the card plus, you know, shipping, eBay fees. You know, if that card sells for again around about $35, then I'm I'm making a profit. Uh, Dragonite Collection Moon Hollow. Again, we are not making a ton of profit on these cards, but, you know, if this card sells for 30 bucks, I'm making a profit. Um, you know, actually, if it sold for like 25, I'd probably make a profit. And I feel like a gem 10 Dragonite card in CGC, you know, selling it for 25 bucks, uh, if I had to. I don't know, it might be worth more than that. Um, is, uh, is not going to be too difficult. So, Greninja GX, the hyper rare. I sent off a couple hyper rares to see how CGC treated them. Uh, mainly cards that I thought would not do well at PSA because of the centering. Uh, so this Greninja came back with a mint 9. I think centering probably the main reason why uh the border on that half much larger than the border on the other half. And yeah, I didn't see anything any issues on the back. Uh but again, CGC is a little bit more lenient on centering. This one did get a 10. So there's still kind of that offcentering left to right, you can see, but it doesn't totally bring the card uh down from a 10. So still pretty nice. I really like the uh Sun and Moon Hyper RAR in Japanese. Been grading a good amount of them recently with both the PSA and CGC. Here's a really nice one. Kindra from Dragon Storm. I mean, just look at that texture. So cool. So nice. Big fan of that card. And yeah, CGC10. That's great. All right, coming down the home stretch here. We are now into Sun and Moon era. Again, I wanted to see on centering here. This one got a nine. This Lunala offc center left to right. But I did send off the Solo and this got a 10 gold Solo from GX Battle Boost. Again, these these texture gold cards are really cool. Uh these are pretty cheap gold cards compared to uh what most gold cards are selling for now. I think I even have like the Soalo and Lunala in near mint condition up on my eBay for something like 35 bucks. um that you know that that's what they're selling for. I think they should be worth more. Um but nice gem 10 on the Gardavore GX shiny from Ultra Shiny. GX Ultra Shiny. Pretty nice here. Again, just beautiful texture on this card. And yeah, nice to get the uh nice to get the 10 on a card that I didn't think would make it to a 10 PSA. And yeah, I'm probably going to do better on that card, grading it with CGC than grading with PSA. Same on this Aether Foundation uh employee. Really nice there. Love this full art. Mint nine on the Ldios from the gym promos. This is a little disappointing. This is definitely one that is not going to make that much money. Um, I'm probably losing money on this card and it's probably going to take a very long time to sell. Um, we'll see. I'll try to price it low and and see if people uh see if people want it. But that's uh that's, you know, these these Sun and Moon promos in CGC graded condition that aren't tens, you know, like this 95 EV. Um, I don't know what makes a card a 95 as opposed to a 10. Who knows? Uh but yeah, just stuff like this is is going to be difficult to uh difficult to sell. And that's the uh that's the downside of dealing with CGC is that if you're trying to sell and you get those lower grades, you know, it's it's kind of a writeoff. Um it's going to be difficult to sell it even at a discounted price. Here's a really nice card, MW. Again, this was one that is is offc center and I thought would not do well at PSA, but it did do well at CGC, which is fantastic. All right, we got the gold here. That's a pristine pristine 10 shiny treasure ex MW. That's really nice. And again, kind of interesting. I thought this card, again, there's a little bit of off-centering here. I thought this would uh not get a 10 at PSA, and we've got a pristine 10 at CDC. Um, so definitely, you know, as I'm getting more into selling cards and the business of uh of Pokemon cards, I'm always looking for ways to kind of maximize value um and and make the most out of the cards that I have. Gemman 10 here on the Gengar. And yeah, sending to CGC, grading cards that I think are worth it to grade with CGC uh is definitely going to be a part of that going forward. Very glad that CGC is is out there. This is a cool Master Ball Master Ball Groudon. And [clears throat] yeah, this was just a little offc center. Didn't think this would uh make it at PSA. Yeah. So, I'm I'm very glad that CGC is out there. I think they provide a good service for what they do. Uh they have their problems. Every grading company has their problems. Genoc DX and Blackbolt here. It's a little offc center, but did get the Geminment 10 grade. So, every grading company's got their problems. CGC is certainly not immune to their share of issues and mistakes. Um but neither is PSA. PSA is certainly not uh the golden boy themselves. Uh this is a really nice card. Haunter Pristine 10 from the Mega Gengar EX uh battle deck. I love this uh love this card. Love this art rare. Yeah, huge fan of that. And to finish this off, we have some Mega Gengars. Both of these got tens, which is great. So that is going to do it. That is my first CGC submission in years. Probably like four or five years. Uh I want to say um I am much more impressed with CGC's uh with CGC's services now than I was previously when I uh when I graded through them. Um I feel like the grades are fair. I feel like they are reasonably uh consistent and accurate uh which is always what you want. I am enticed by the fact that these cards came back in one month since I sent them off. I was very happy with that. Uh and and the the price the price of grading these uh I have the elite CGC membership. So this cost me about $11 a card to grade. Um so that's uh that's pretty good. Let me know your thoughts on CGC. Should I be sending more to CGC? Have you been sending more to CGC in the comment section below? Thank you all very much for watching.
