I cracked and regraded 20 modern only PSA 9 to CGC. So, how many PSA 9s do you think will get a 10 from CDC? How many do you think will get a pristine? Well, like always, we'll go over each card, give the cost and value of each, and at the end, I'll give myself a letter grade to see how I did. All right, let's get right to it. Okay, first up in this submission is Mimikyu VMAX. I actually sent this one to PSA RAW and it got a nine. And I disagreed with that. I thought it deserved a 10, but you know, I'm wrong every now and then. I wish I had a giant Mimikyu I could just rest on. He looks so comfortable. CGC gave this one a 10. I feel like PSA kind of got this one wrong. I'm happy about that. From a 9 to a 10. Not great value game. Hopefully making a little bit of profit here, but that's all right. I also just really love the design of this card. I think it's a beautiful card. Somewhat underrated. I think a lot of these Trainer Gallery cards are underrated. Good way to start off the submission. We got 110. Let's go on to the next one. I think we have a bit of a theme here in terms of embracing a huge bouncy Pokemon. The first one was the giant Mimikyu and now we have Ino's Bellybolt EX. This one, he's just a lovable fluffy little frog dude. I'm not really quite sure exactly what Belly Bolt is, but I love him. Oh, I love you, Belly Bolt. You can do no wrong. >> I wonder if she found the giant turd I left for her in her purse. Probably not. Now, this one I actually originally cracked out of a Becket 95 with really good subgrades and sent it to PSA that got a nine. And I really did not agree once again with PSA. I don't think it deserved a nine. So, my cost on this is pretty high since I bought it at a Becca 95 and already sent it to be graded. CGC gave this one a pristine 10, which I feel is a lot more deserving of that grade. That's fantastic. Not crazy of a value gain because it's a modern pristine 10, but I absolutely adore this card. I actually am going to keep this one. And I love the CDC pristine label. Okay, so that's our first pristine out of two cards. Hey, things are looking pretty good. We already got one 10 and one pristine 10. Let's see what else we can get. Charizard Celebrations Classic Collection. It's very similar obviously to the base set Charizard, but it just has a different holo pattern and it has that 25 Pikachu stamp, which I think a lot of people actually don't like, but I don't know, whatever. It's it's fine by me. CDC gave this one a regular 10. Okay, great. So, that is a little bit of a value gain. That's cool. You know, Charizard's fine. It's It's a fine card, but I think it's a decent time to sell with the 30th anniversary around the corner. This is like half the value of a PSA 10 because CGC10s in modern are just not respected. It is what it is. It's the market, but going to sell it for a bit of a profit and move on. Charizard Vstar Ultra Premium Collection. This one actually originally cracked from a Becket 95 with really good subgrades as well. PSA gave it a nine. That felt like a slap in the face and I wasn't really happy about that. So, I'm like, you know what? Let's send it off to CGC to see what it will get. Is that a tang growth in the background being propelled by a jet stream of diarrhea? I can relate. I've definitely been there before. It's not pretty. And CGC gave this card a nine. So, from a Becca 95 to a BSA 9 to a CGC 9, I still am not really quite sure why it got a nine. Maybe the corners aren't that great. I'll admit definitely a little bit upset about that. A really big profit loss, like wiping out any profit that I've gotten so far and then some. So, uh, yeah, not great. Our first real big disappointment of the submission. That's okay. We'll eat the loss like a champ like we always do and move on to the next one. Okay, fair bit of warning. There's a lot of Charizard regrades in this submission. This one is Charizard EX from 151. Good old Charizard with the stubby neck. I do like how this card connects to the Charmeleon and Charmander. So, that to me is probably the coolest part about this card. My guess was that it was going to get a nine. CGC gave this one a nine. So, exactly what I guess. Again, the second card in a row with a little bit of a loss. Uh because CGC 9, the PSA 9 and modern are definitely a little bit lower, but that's fine. Again, let's just, you know, go on to the next one. That's okay. Okay. Charizard EX. Same as that card. Again, there's quite a bit of them in this submission. This one I also guess was going to get a nine. It looked fine to me. There was some issues with the back corners and a bit of a centering issue. CGC gave this one a 9.5. Okay. Sure. So, that's, you know, about breaking even on it or losing a little bit of money. That's fine. Things aren't going as well as I'd hoped so far. You know, it looks like CTC has been pretty fair. Honestly, I can't complain. But, you know, valuewise, we're not doing hot. We're not doing so great. Maybe the next card will do a little bit better. Hopefully. Oh, look. It's the same as that card. That's the third Charizard EX for 151 in a row. I guess this one was going to get a nine. Mainly because again there are some back corner issues but you know every now and then CDC can be a bit lenient on that which is fine. And this car they actually gave a 10. Woo! Fantastic. That's amazing. That's great. The PSA 10s are like double the price of this once again for modern because CGC10s and modern people don't want I guess is what it is. But that's cool. We'll take that little bit of a profit. That is our fourth 10 so far out of seven cards. Not bad. A little bit disappointing. I was hoping for some more 10 so far, but again, I try to find PSA 9s that I think could cross to CGC10s. You can't win them all. That's fine. Here's another Charizard from 151. It's the fourth one in a row. I know there's quite a few of them. Hopefully, we can get this card in pristine. That would be fantastic. I guess this one was going to get a 9.5. However, there was some slight white cornering that's really hard to pick up on the PSA scan, but it's kind of easier to see on the CGC scans. And I will say, for some reason, the CGC scans make the corners of cards look terrible. So, CGC gave this one a 10. That's two 10 in a row. Again, a little bit of value game. That's cool. Do I wish it was more? Probably, but it's nice to see from a nine to a 10, so I can't complain. I'm just going to sell it, take the profit, and run for the heels. Bye. This is the fifth Charizard EX from 151 in a row. I promise you guys it's almost over. Just a few more Charizards and we'll be done with him forever. Okay, at least for this submission. This one I guess was actually going to get a 9.5. And wouldn't you know it, hey, look, every now and then I get something right. Okay, most of the time, probably like 90% of the time, I'm a certified idiot and I get things wrong. Okay, I admit that. That's fine. But in this case, CDC agreed with me and it gave the card a 9.5. Making a tiny tiny tiny bit of profit here. probably going to break even or even lose some when I sell it on eBay cuz I'm selling this card. All right. It's a bit disappointing when you get the mint 9.5 cuz you're like, what do I do with this half grade? It's kind of disappointing, but oh well. Okay, the 10th card on the submission, the last Charizard EX from 151. I guess it was going to get a nine, unfortunately. I didn't think it looked too great after I cracked it out. Some surface issues and, you know, the classic corner issues. And CGC gave this one a nine. Ooh, yep. That's another profit loss right there. Ooh, got to eat that loss. Yeah, not good. The second worst profit loss of the whole submission. I am going to sell it again. Sell it for the loss. That's fine. So, out of 10 cards so far, we've only had five that have come back 10 or higher. That's a 50% rate. Let's see if we can improve that rate through the second half of this submission. I'm I'm thinking we can hopefully. I swear this is the actual last Charizard in the whole submission. Okay, this one is from Palane Fates. I will say this is my favorite modern Charizard card. I love the colors. Love the vibe he's given. He's very angry like someone stole his lunch. Yeah. So, this one I actually guessed was going to get a 9.5. It's very hard to tell, but you can kind of see a tiny tiny tiny bit of whitening in the top edge. I'm like, "Okay, I think a 9.5 would be fair for this card." But you know what? CGC actually gave this one a pristine 10, which to me was so unexpected, but a welcome surprise. I will take that. That is fine by me. Thank you, CGC. And since this is my favorite modern Charizard card, I actually am going to keep it even though it is also the biggest profit card so far of the whole submission. I love it. Now, you one might argue that is it deserving of a CGC pristine look. Okay, CGC Pristines can have a technically a 9.5 subgrade. So perhaps that edge was a 9.5 and the rest of the card was perfect. I'm okay with that. That's fine. Looking at it in person, it looks great. And it's always nice when I guess lower than the actual grade. I cannot complain at all. Super happy with that. I love it. Mew ex from Palan Fates or you know famously called Bubble Mew. He looks like a little fetus and he's growing and he's going to pop from that bubble and he'll be a big boy one day. I can't wait to grow up and be tall and be a big boy one day. >> Stay dreaming, kid. You'll get there one day. One thing I love about this card is just the cute little faces on all the Pokemon below him. Like look at that Rattata. Look at him. I guess it was going to get a 9.5. It looked very clean to me. And what do you guys think? You think it was higher than my guess or lower than my guess? Well, GGC gave it a 10. That's great. I was able to sell it at like a bit of a high in the market at the time. A decent profit. All right, let's go on to the next one. Look, here's a card I believe is severely undervalued right now. I think Journey Together as a whole is pretty undervalued. This one is Lily's Clefairy EX from Journey Together. The PSA 9 are even lower than when I bought it a few months ago. This one I actually guessed was going to get a nine. And you know, in this card, it looks like Lily is just cheering Clefairy on. You can do it, Clefairy. You're the best. Yay. Now, see that whole family of Rattatas over there? >> Yeah, they seem to be having a really great day. What a beautiful family. Now go murder them. >> Okay. Leave no survivors, Clefairy. >> Okay, I get it. Yeah, I'll do that. >> CDC gave this card a 9.5. Okay, well, a half grade better than I expected, but of course, the market for this card is not very favorable at the moment. So, going to be losing some money here. I think it's probably even dropped more. I think the 10ens are like 180, which is ridiculous. But, I am going to sell it at a loss. What are you going to do? Okay, I like this card so much I bought two for this submission again. It's Lily's Clefairy EX from Journey Together. This one I actually guessed was going to get a 10. It looked fine to me. I was like, "Come on, CDC, give me that 10. I would love to have this 10." But apparently CDC thinks I'm an idiot because they gave the card a 9.5 again. That's two 9.5s in a row. Just a double slap right in the face. But that's okay. Less than I had hoped for that one. What are you going to do? You know, I could send it back if I wanted to, but after looking at it, I think that's a pretty fair assessment. Just going to sell it at a loss and move on. Ladius EX Surging Sparks. Again, I feel like a bit of an underrated card. I think it's honestly probably my favorite card of the whole set. I think it's the best one. If you disagree with me, that's perfectly fine. I will live with it. I guess that this card was going to get a 10 because it looked absolutely fan flipping to my little beady little eyes. And you know what? CDC agreed and gave it a 10. Okay. Now, do I wish the value was a little bit higher? Of course I do. But this card has been going down a little bit. Oh well, what are you going to do? Just going to sell it for hopefully a little bit of a profit at this point. After 15 cards, we're only at eight of the cards getting a CDC 10 or higher and only two pristines. But hey, the last five cards, maybe we can bump those numbers up. Okay, maybe we can do a little bit better. Maybe not. I don't know. I guess we'll see. Greninja EX from Twilight Masquerade. Not really quite sure why there's so much ink flying around, but he's a crazy guy. What can I say? I can't judge him. Well, when I cracked it, I noticed there were some surface issues in the back. So, I guess it was actually going to get a nine. I did not think CGC would give this card a 10 at all. And CGC gave it a 9.5. Ooh. Okay. Well, a little bit higher than I expected. At least losing a little bit of money. That's the fifth 9.5 in this submission, which is always interesting. It's Roaring Moon EX from Prismatic Evolutions. I actually think this one, again, I guess is a bit of a theme, is a bit undervalued at the moment. It's by Shinji Kanda, who was a very popular artist. I guess it was going to get a nine and CGC gave it a 10. I love one of you guys that's gonna get a nine and it gets a 10. A little tiny bit of value gain. Again, not great between a PSA 9 and CGC 10, but oh well. But that's fine. Still a great card. I'm going to sell it and move on. Vaporeon V-Max promo from the Vaporean V-Max premium collection. This card is beautiful. If you've seen it in person, I think you'll know what I'm talking about when you look at it and it just brings pure bliss. I actually guess it was going to get a 9.5. And CGC gave the card a 10. That's two cards in a row where we're pleasantly surprised with the grade. Got a nice little profit out of it. That's good. Feeling decent about this submission so far. Not bad, but not great. Okay, maybe the last two cards will get something real good. Bulbasaur Mega Evolution Enhanced Booster Display Box. I love the stamped box topper cards. I think they have good long-term potential. And it's Bulbasaur. Everyone loves Bulbasaur. I love Bulbasaur. Look how cute he is. Look at his two little vine whips. My guess was that actually was going to get a nine. There was a tiny little surface indent in the front. It's very tiny. That's the only thing wrong I really saw with the card. So, I'm like, "Okay, maybe CGC will actually give it a nine." And CGC gives it a 10. I really like this card so much that I'm going to just hold on to it for a bit. I wanted at least one graded of these cards cuz it's fantastic. Can't complain about that one. Again, the profits almost negligible, but that's fine. Last card in the whole submission is Garchomp V from Astral Radiance. This one I actually originally got in a Becket 95. Sent it off to PSA. They gave it a 9. Of course, classic, right? I think the issue mainly was the centering. I guess that this one was going to get a 9.5 and CGC pleasantly surprised gave the card a 10. And I lost a little bit of money here, but that's all right because I actually ended up giving this away during the free monthly giveaways in the Discord. So, congratulations to the winner of that. And if you want to enter those giveaways, they're completely free. All you got to do is join the Discord. The link is in the description below. Now, let's go over the final results in terms of the profit. My total cost for this submission was around $4,800 and the new value is around $6,000 with a profit of around $1,100. So, I'm giving myself a grade of C minus for the submission. So, even though we got 12 out of 20 gems from PSA 9 to CGC 10 or better, when you're sending only modern cards and you don't prioritize finding ones with good profit gains, it's usually not really worth it. So, stay tuned for more videos and more Regrade experiments. All right, that's it. Bye.

Video description

In this video, I submit 20 modern PSA 9 Pokémon cards for a PSA to CGC regrade to see how they really stack up under CGC’s standards. Modern cards are often assumed to grade easily, but that isn’t always the case, especially when chasing CGC Pristine 10s. I break down the reasoning behind cracking PSA slabs, what I look for before regrading, and how CGC graded each card compared to PSA. If you’re into Pokémon card grading, PSA vs CGC comparisons, or figuring out whether regrading modern PSA 9s is worth the risk, this submission gives a realistic look at the process and results. - Make sure to join the community discord for occasional giveaways, fun discussions, and be in the know when my next videos will come out!
