Anchoring
Presenting an extreme number or claim first so everything after seems reasonable by comparison. The first piece of information becomes your reference point — even when it's arbitrary or deliberately inflated. Works even when you know the anchor is irrelevant.

How are you doing? >> No, good. I don't know. I clean storage units out, so I have a car load. >> 10 15,000 cars. >> Whoever had this built up quite the collection. This card would be worth 150 to $300,000 in that condition. Cards HQ is already starting to fill up on this Saturday. It's going to be a busy day. It's Tops Rip Night. We've got some big athletes and celebrities coming to the shop and I'm going to be pitching in to help out throughout the day. So, if you want to see what it is like in a card shop behind the scenes, well, let's go. It's an incredibly busy Saturday here inside Cards HQ. We got customers lined up everywhere. Customers in the aisles, our buying counter back there. They got a big line of people waiting to sell them cards. So, I'm going to hop back there right now, help them out, and buy some cards off of customers who have brought them here into Cards HQ. What's up, man? >> Hi, Jeff. >> How's it going? >> It's good, man. How are you? >> Good. >> So, I just have a few cards. They're kind of they're kind of difficult to see. I want to see what you think of this. >> Okay. Oh, look at that. Wow. Wow. That's a big card. Nick Curts out of 10. Rookie black refractor with a really nice oncard auto. And it's still top sealed, too. So, this was I guess a redemption. You pulled the redemption card for this and then >> Yeah, just got it back. >> Oh, man. That's a nice card. He's a big name rolling into this season. One just sold PSA 8 for 11K, but it's kind of weird. >> I don't know. It's got 23 bids, but I don't know. >> You can see like a little bit of white right there. I'll hold that. I don't know if the camera can see that there. I'll hold that up there. Other than that, the corners and uh edges look sharp to me. I think the centering is pretty good on it, too. So, I mean, it's a nice looking card. The black border ones are always a little tough to grade. >> Yeah. >> Um Yeah. I mean, I can look it up a little bit. Is there was there like a price of mind what you were hoping to get for it? I don't I mean I was it's kind of hard to figure that out. So I mean I was looking to basically figure it out together I guess you know. >> Sure. >> Open to see if you guys are wanting to buy it. >> And are you hoping for uh store credit or for cash? >> I could do credit then just open all those gilded. >> I don't know after a lot of fun >> after that last one. I got to do better than that though. >> You got to do better than that one. You got to do better than that one. >> Yeah. I searched for Nick's Nick Kurts Tops Chrome and I sorted just by like his highest sales just to kind of see. So like one of his one of his out of fives in a PSA 10 sold for 31,000. So that one's obviously going to be a little more valuable. >> Yeah, I saw that. >> Um there was a red sapphire redemption that was 12,000. So here's So one of these blacks, this might have been the one you were referring to here. >> Yeah, it was like 2 days ago. >> Yeah. So that sold for 11,100. >> Yeah. And that was a that was a PSA 8 with an autograde of 10. >> I figured it was worth anywhere between 8 and 11k. That's what I would think with with the with the other sales, but I just it's hard to tell cuz there was no other ones. >> So here is a redemption at 7500. That's >> okay. Oh, I did see I couldn't find that. >> Yeah. So that sold back in July. So that sold a while ago. Okay. >> But so that that's basically the >> was another sale. like I don't know how you I couldn't find it. >> That's what he would have pulled. Yeah, right here. >> That's what it looks like. Yeah, >> that's what he would have pulled out of the pack. So, I would say the value of it is somewhere between the 7500 and let me just see if there were any other >> ones that I see. Yeah, 6,500 on that one in November. Yeah. Yeah. So, I mean, in terms of value, I think probably if I took that if I took those two redemptions on the kind of the low end, so 6500 and 7500, and then I took the I took the actual PSA graded, now it's only a PSA 8, so that's not, you know, yours maybe if someone graded it, maybe could do better than an eight, you know, hopefully it would. Who knows? But that's a PSA 8 with an auto of 10. Um, and that one is 11,100. So, I mean, it's somewhere in that range, right? the value. I think it's I think it's going to be a little bit below the 11,100 cuz that one is graded. Um, and I think it's going to be above the 6,500 and 7500 because those were just redemptions. And this one is also the most recent of the sales. >> Yeah. >> So, I think I would put a market value on it of around $10,000. That's where I would just say it's probably worth right now. >> That's exactly what I would think. Yeah. So, in terms if you wanted to if you wanted to trade it in for store credit, I could give you $8,000 store credit on it if you wanted to do that. >> I don't need the money. So, uh >> let's do that. That's fine. >> You want to do it? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Yeah. I have a few other big cards if you want. >> Yeah, I'll take a look. >> Um maybe I'll take some cash for the other ones if you want. >> Yeah, sure. Happy to do that as well. All right. Well, thank you very much. We're excited about that card. We'll help that card find a really good one. That's so >> Don't forget that's one out of 10. >> It is card one out of 10. Let's see what else you got. >> All right. Um Okay. >> So, what I'd be happy to do since since we did this one >> um at 80% store credit, if you want cash on anything, I'll give you 80% cash on anything else you want as well. So, that way if you like that or or um I can bump up store credit a little bit on anything else since we did a big one on this one, too. >> That's awesome. That will be helpful for sure. Um there is no comp. There are no comps for this. I don't know if we're going to come to an agreement because this is really cool. It's an awesome card and it's hard to comp it out. Um, >> wow. >> How sick is that? >> One of 10 Jeter. >> I know it's a sticker, but that might be the best looking sticker auto I've ever seen. >> It is actually a really good looking sticker auto. >> And that's a Yeah, that's the black parallel. One out of 10. >> Another one out of 10. >> That's a really nice looking card. >> Do you have any sense of the value of it? Have you seen any of those that have sold? >> I was thinking that it's got to be like I would think like it's around like >> at my high I would value it honestly like 16 to to 2,000. >> Okay. >> 1,600 to 2,000. >> I know I sold the Ken Griffy Jr. 10 uh of the last year's for 2,000. >> Okay. >> Um I know Ken Griffy goes for more, but this picture is awesome. >> It's a that's a really good picture. That's that's definitely a car that a Yankees collector would absolutely love. >> One did sale sell so far. Um, but it's not the same card. It's a black like paper on card for like 1,300 or something from 2026. >> Okay. >> So, this one sold for 1,500. >> That's a black refrator out of 10. That would have been what, the year prior. >> Yeah. >> Um, >> but same um or maybe two years prior. >> Yeah. >> Uh, that's more of the regular car design. This is like a little >> That's like That's better. >> You would think this one was a little bit better. Yeah. >> All right. Let me put in 2026 and just see if I can Jeter Tops Chrome Auto from 2026. And then here is yours in an orange. >> That's a >> That one sold for 600 in an orange out of 25. Let's see if there were any other sales of that. >> Yeah. No other sales. >> Yeah. >> So, this would be a tough one for me, honestly. >> Yeah. I would say it's worth >> $800 to $1,000 is where I would say it's worth because you've got you've got this one at $1,200. >> Okay. >> Um which is this one's going to be a little more than it. Um and then you've got this one at $600 which is the out of 25. And obviously that's going to be less valuable as the out of 25. Also your the black out of 10 looks a lot better visually >> than the orange out of 25 does for sure. So yeah, I think somewhere between 800 and 1,000. >> Okay. >> So if you wanted to work off of that range, we can do something. If you prefer just to keep it given that, then you know, that's totally cool as well. >> I'm going to keep them. >> Okay. I don't blame you. I know you're a Yankees guy. So >> yeah, this one was this one I was I was like, okay, you know, if I can get the top like which I totally understand, you know, I'd be willing to, but >> yeah. Okay, this one I don't know if you're ready for I don't know if I'm ready for, but that's a big Oh, Connor Griffin, man, you got all the cards. So, Connor Griffin right now is considered the hottest prospect in all of baseball. I think he's the number one rated prospect. He is uh everybody expects him to be called up to the Pirates Major League team this season. Prospects uh or scouts are saying that he is one of the best prospects they've ever seen. Like, people are really, really high on this guy. All the advanced metrics are super high on this guy. Um, but as a result of that, his market is already super hot. Like his prices are already high. It I don't know with with him. I don't know if it's a situation where like he's going to get a big bump when he gets called up because he's already gotten a bump. You know, >> I don't know. >> The market is really hot on him right now. So, this is the gold wave in a PSA 10. >> So, it looks like we had a a gold refractor. So, a true gold. >> Yeah. >> And a PSA Oh, this is Yeah, in a PSA 10. Those are >> the true gold just did 10,800. >> So that one's going to be a little more valuable than yours because that's the true gold while yours is the gold wave. But they are both out of 50 and they are both PSA 10. So typically the gold waves are doing a little bit less than the true gold. Here's another true gold that did 10,000. Um, and you can see this market's going up a little bit. Here's another True Gold that did 10,000. But you can see like this one sold in November. That one sold in July. And then this one, this one sold in January. So the most So it's it's edging up a little bit here. The market now. Here's a gold shimmer. So this is your card right here. >> Is that the same one? >> That's the same one. Uh no, you're a gold wave. This is a gold shimmer. So it's another out of 50. This is a variation in a PSA 10. That one just did $7,500 in January. So that's a pretty recent sale. Um that was raw. Let's see what this one was right here. This was a gold weight. So, this is this is your exact gold wave in a 10 and that one did $7,000 um just recently uh just at the end of January. So, that's going to be your closest comp on this one. So, yeah, the market's definitely going up because this gold wave this was this was $5,100 in a PSA 10 in December. >> And then your most recent one, yeah, you can see like a lot of these down here actually when like here's a gold wave even at the beginning of Even at the beginning of January, 4,800. >> Let me just type in wave just so I get all the gold wave sales here. >> Is everyone looking to sell? >> So 5100 4,800. >> Just make sure you're in our >> 4,400 4,000 for the gold wave autos. But you can see this one >> that was a PSA 9 that recently did 4500. And then the other one that I found the person hadn't actually put wave in the title. So this person, >> which one? This one. >> That one. That was the gold wave, but they didn't put wave in the title. That sold for $7,000. >> It makes it so confusing. >> So the last true sale of it was this one for $7,000 where they they listed it wrong. They didn't put wave in the title. Hopefully, whoever bought it realized it wasn't the gold, but it was actually the gold wave. >> Yeah. The one the last one where they actually put gold wave in the title was that one at 5100 and this one well that was a PSA 9 gold shimmer. This one at 4,800 um was the last one where actually wave one in the title >> before his hype was built maybe. >> Yeah. Beginning of January. So when the market the market's gone up >> number one prospect >> the market's gone up a little bit. Well I mean I can tell you actually we can kind of look at what this is. So I'm curious to look at this sale. So, January 5th for 4,800. And so, what I'm going to do here in Market Movers is I'm going to copy Conor Griffin. I'm going to go up into here and I'm going to pick one of his more common cards. >> Let me pick his um just his base Bowman draft in PSA 10 >> and let me chart this out over the last 60 days. >> So, yeah, you can tell it's moving up a little bit. So, that that sale that last sale was around here. So 168 150 150 and today it's 183 203. So yeah, it's up about 20 20% to 25% over the course of the last 60 days if we if we base it off of that card. So that would make sense. I mean, that would kind of support that would kind of support um so if you took this $4,800 sale and then you added 20 to 25% to it, that put you at about 6,000 or so, and then you had this sale up here for 7,000 where it was kind of mislabeled. So, I would I would put the value probably around 6,000. I I'm a little slightly nervous about this sale because they did mislabel it. So, I hope that the person kind of knew what they were they got and it was a fixed price. >> Was there not I thought there was two two sales um in the 7,000. >> Were there Did you see another one? >> I when I was looking up I thought I saw one. >> So, yeah, that's the best offer I see for 7,000. 7200. Okay. So, this one is at auction right now. Wow. >> 7 days left. So, it'll be interesting to see what that one goes for. Right. >> Yeah. >> That one is for sale right now. >> My prediction I mean again that doesn't mean anything is I think it's going to be 10k like pretty soon. It could be. >> Yeah. But >> you know, so we've got a couple of sales to go off of >> that support like around a $7,000 price point on I would be comfortable then at a $7,000 price point because the market is espec. >> Yeah, because I saw two. That's why I'm like, okay, I would I think it's at least worth $7,000 and it's going to keep going up. I I think for now at least >> it will it will probably continue to tick up until he gets until he he gets called up or until he's there and then at that moment what he does. you probably know better. So, yeah, >> that's the big moment. And then he's got to really perform, >> but it could also I I don't know. Couldn't it still go up? What if he like does amazing? >> He's got to come out hot. If he comes out hot, then yes, he's got to come out really hot. He's got to come out really hot cuz there's so much expectation built into >> Oh, for sure. Definitely. >> So, what I would say then is I'm I'm comfortable pricing this card at $7,000. Okay. I would offer you um 80% cash value, which is more than what we normally do, but obviously since since we just did the big Curts deal and you were good to us on that, I'd offer you 80% cash if you want the cash value. Or if you want store credit, I could bump that up. I would do 5600 cash or 5800 store credit on that if you wanted to do that. >> Is there a way we can do like a little bit of half and half? >> Sure. >> Maybe like $2,500 cash. >> Sure. and then take the rest in store credit. >> I can do that. >> I would be comfortable doing that. Yeah, we can do that. So, let's do uh if we're going to do that, I'll honor I'll honor the higher price for you. Um because I know you're you're a great regular customer of the store, which I really appreciate. So, we'll do if you want, why don't we do 2500 in cash and then what is that? 3,300 in in store credit. >> Yeah. >> Sound good? >> That sounds good. >> Okay, perfect. Awesome. >> Is that it or you want to sell me some more crazy stuff? >> I don't know, man. I have another PSA tip. >> Oh man, you obvious got the best cards here. My goodness, that's beautiful. >> Only because it's the the last sale. It's on, you know, not a lot of them have sold recently. >> Yeah, keep that one. That's a beautiful card. That's That's a beautiful card. I love the Gilded. >> I've done his uh Heritage PSA 10 auto, which is awesome. >> This is brand new, >> so that's I don't think you can really comp. >> Yeah, that would be kind of That would be That would be >> This is the final redemption I got. >> Okay. I haven't actually seen this card before. >> Yeah, >> that's neat. So, that major league material player worn Curts out of 25. What product did that come out of? >> That is Topps update, not Chrome. Regular update. >> Yeah, I haven't seen that before. Well, look at this. This one's not even an auto. >> So, I guess they have non-auto versions of it as well. >> Yeah. So, here's one of the redemptions. So, the redemption sold for 1,800. So none of the actual you I can't find that ever even on eBay. >> That's why you got to use market movers. We got to get you on market movers. >> Yeah. So the redemption went for 1,800. So that's that looks like that's kind of all we got to work off of right now. It's just one just that one redemption. So I mean I would be I would be comfortable working off that price if you wanted to work off that price or if you wanted to hold on to it then that's okay as well. >> I'd be willing to work off of that price. Okay. For sure. Yeah. So if we did um >> major league material autograph 435 bucks not numbered >> what? >> Yeah I don't know 435 >> yeah and then an out of 10 went for 1250 but then an out of 25 which you have went for 1,800 and then an out of 10 went for 2,000. Okay. >> Yeah. I mean 1,800 honestly might be a little strong on it but I'm willing to honor it for you since you've been a great customer. >> Thank you. So, yeah, I'm willing to do um and as I said, I'll do I'll do 80% of that. Even if you want to do cash or store credit on that, either way, >> I'll do half and half again. >> Okay. All right. We'll do that. There you go. Okay. All right. I think we did some big business here. >> I think that's it, man. Yeah. Thanks, Jeff. >> This was great. Great transaction. Appreciate it. >> Hello, everybody. We have a very special guest. I'm very pleased to announce that we have Atlanta Hawkar Dyson Daniels inside Cars HQ. How are you doing? >> No, good. I don't know. I clean storage units out. So, I have a car load. >> Oh, got 10 15 pounds of cars. >> Oh, okay. >> Not counting everything. >> So, this is like you you was this where you like bought a storage unit or something like that or >> No, we've done it for years and the man just >> he pays us $100 to bring them out. >> Well, we keep everything that you >> and it's just stuff sometimes gets abandoned in there. And so, in this case, you found just a whole bunch of sports cards. All right. Let's see. Let's see what we got here. Let's see what we got here. >> I said I don't know I don't know anything about cards. >> Yeah. So, first of all, we've got what appears to be an OJ Simpson autograph card. Now, the question is, is this a real Yeah. So, unfort Well, uh I I think >> they're all fake. I think we got a lot of fake cards here. >> Yeah, this one. Yeah, we Yo, yeah, these are unfortunately these are these are fake cards. Yeah. So, I mean, this one is definitely fake. I can tell right away just with the the saturation of the color on the card. That's a Pistol Pete Maravic card. It's too clean. The color is not right. This is This is a Michael Jordan star. this, if this card were real in this condition, this card would be worth $150 to $300,000 if it were real in that condition. Unfortunately, that's not real. The saturation on the card, this same same I mean this card as well, the Wayne Gretzky autograph or the Wayne Gretzky uh rookie card. Whoever had this built up quite the collection. I this one looks I mean I I'm assuming all of these are fake, but yeah, this one the white on it doesn't look like that looks like a photocopy. That's not what the If you see one of these in person and also that's not the this is a this is like a photocopy. That's not the right thickness of that card either. Yeah. I wish I had better news for you here >> because this would have been one of the most incredible collections ever to walk in here if these cards were real. Yeah, that's that doesn't look real either with the print quality on it. the saturation of the colors. This is a 1952 Tops Willie Maze. If this card were real, this would be extremely valuable as well. But that is not a real 1952 Tops Willie Maze card. That's a uh, you know, that too is a It's not the right paper stock. It's, you know, you don't see the paper grain in the back of the card. The thickness of the card is not proper. The saturation of the image is not proper. It's one of those things that when you just when you've seen a lot of these, you can kind of spot them. And I'm not I'm definitely not an expert in fake cards, but like I've seen all these cards enough to be able to spot them. And unfortunately, none of these are real. So, let's check this one just to make sure. Yeah. Same with that one. That one's wrong thickness image. Looks like that's from a color color uh copier, not from a real card. So, if you want, I can look through if you got more of these in your car, I can look through the box and just see if any if there are any where I'm like, "Okay, that one's worth, you know, more than a few bucks." But, let's walk out of your car and I'd be happy to look at some of the others for you. Okay, so we're going to go check out the rest of these cards and uh hopefully we'll find some good ones. Maybe there's some somewhere in that storage unit. Hopefully, there were some good cards so we can do some business with these fine folks here. Okay, we got a Sports Illustrated set. Looks like. All right. I had those when I was a kid. Okay. So, we got some binders here. Bill's vault. That's okay. What do we got? A complete set of Topps football. What year is that? Yeah. 1991. Yeah, we're definitely we're heavy in the junk wax era here, unfortunately. Oh, we got some packs here. See what packs we got. 1995 Stadium Club 95 metal. Yeah. Unfortunately, they liked cards from like the junk wax era. So, this was I mean, these packs are kind of fun. I mean, there's like a few things here and there that we might have a little bit of interest in. Although, that one's already opened. Yeah, they look like they're all opened. Joseé Cono 1992 Donris card. Oh, yeah. Okay. So, here we go. Yeah. Yeah. 2012 Leaf All-American. So the, you know, these were the So I I know these were the types of cards that would come out of those um hit boxes that you could buy at like Walmart, like the little mystery, the $9, $14 little mystery boxes at Walmart that would include one graded card. They would often have cards like these inside, but unfortunately these cards are only worth like a dollar. Like these aren't really, you know, there's nothing nothing here, unfortunately. Really. Um that's kind of cool, actually. That's probably the best of them. Well, I recognized some of these cards when I was a kid from when I was a kid, but unfortunately, we don't seem to have any value in here. None of this stuff is really worth anything. I mean, nothing significant. I mean, there might be a couple things here and there that are worth a few dollars, but there's just it's it's not really worth anything. >> It's a big collection of of really not much, unfortunately. I mean, it for the for for a collector who loves stuff from this era, it's a lot of fun to have stuff like this, but like in terms of like resale value, >> there's just really not anything here. >> Let's let's look through. They got this box here sorted by player. So, like here's Ichiro Suzuki. Some of these are are fun cards to give away to like a kid. Man, I wish I could find a gem in here. Like, show me show me one show me one gem. Yeah. Unfortunately, it looks like this person had a really big collection, but whatever whatever they might have had that was valuable is not here. Um, and maybe they never had it. Who knows? You know, they got some bigname players. Uh, and they got some cards that were real. This person definitely collected like back in the 80s and early 90s, uh, when all these cards came from, but they're just not, unfortunately, they're just not valuable anymore. Um, this era of cards was really overprinted and just hasn't held any value. I think this person bought a lot of these cards back in like the 1990s. Like this is a 1993 Upper Deck Chris Weber card. Like look at the look at the top loader on that. Look at that thing. That that top loader's been through something. They got a sticker on the back for $6. And it looks like that's what they priced the card at in the year 2000. Unfortunately, I I don't I don't think that's worth anything more than that today. So, I mean, honestly, like if someone were to toss you a hundred bucks to take all this off your hand, I I would probably do that. I wish I could I wish I could provide you with better news, but >> it is what it is. >> It is what it is. Well, we tried. I mean, you never know what's going to walk in to the car shop. And that's the thing that's the interesting thing about working in the buying room at our car shop at Cars HQ. You just never know what's going to walk in. And lit I mean literally it could be a $10,000 Nick Curts rookie auto or it could be fake cards, you know, or it could be just boxes and boxes of junk wax era cards that are, you know, unfortunately not really worth much at all. But it's interesting. It is definitely interesting and fun to see what's coming next. You never know. All right, ladies and gentlemen. I'm very pleased to welcome to Cards HQ one of our special guests today. We have the alltime Atlanta Braves legend John Smaltz with us. >> The Brooklyn Nets in the University of Michigan. We have Danny Wolf here. Let's give him a round of applause. >> How you doing, man? >> Good. How's it going? Good to see you. >> Good to see you. How you doing? >> Good. >> All right. So, I do want to show you something pretty cool. >> Okay. >> I got this. >> I like seeing cool things. >> Yeah. This Giannis downtown. Uh, it's got a gem rate of 46%. So, you let me know what you think about that card. >> That's really nice. >> I appreciate that, man. Thank you. >> That was my first like grail purchase. Um, kind of signifying like, yeah, I'm going to stick with this hobby and get into it. So, >> cool. >> But if you, you know, like it or see anything about it, you let me know. Um, I also got some other stuff like a top one Mac. Mac Jones on the jumbo. >> Interesting. Okay. >> Yeah. So, >> all right. >> See anything you like? >> You never know about him. Like, he had some good games with the 49ers this year. He's not the hottest name, but there's still some people that still believe in M. Jones that are willing to speculate. >> I I think he will get traded and there seems like the Jets that need a quarterback. They're not going to I don't think they're going to draft one. There's no reason to. Um, so you just never know with that, right? We saw what Sam Darnold did. We saw some backing quarterbacks pop off. >> So, >> absolutely. >> Yeah. >> Well, so what we can do is I can look up resent prices on this card on these cards. Generally, the way that we buy is that we'll offer you 80% of the of the value in store credit if you want to do it that here. If you want cash, we typically offer you 70% of the value. >> Okay, that's awesome. Yeah, I'd probably go with the store credit cuz the 80% buy is like how I usually like to sell at. So, >> figured out. Figured so. So, let me take a peek here and see if I see what I see on these cards. >> Go ahead, man. Plus, I just want to show you, too, cuz I feel like >> I love it. Yeah. Even if we even if we don't get a deal done, I appreciate getting the opportunity to see cool cards. >> I appreciate the conversation, man. >> It's uh it's always fun to see what walks in here to Cards HQ. >> Yeah. Hey, you got beautiful establishment going, man. It's pretty sick seeing somebody in the hobby doing so well. So, >> thank you very much, man. Thank you, >> man. Of course. >> Okay, so I'm seeing I'm thinking this card is probably worth about $1,600. >> Okay, >> so last sale I see on it here is exactly at $1,600 and the PSA 10. >> Yep. >> Um the sale before that was a little higher. It was $1,875. >> Okay. >> But then before that, I see $1,525$1575. >> Okay. So, because it's a all-star uh variant, is that cuz I heard that's the only All-Star variant of Giannis that he has of the panini wood. You know what? You're absolutely right. So, I I made a mistake and I was looking here at the >> regular >> downtown. This is You're right. It's not the same card at all. That's a That's a rookie mistake I just made. You called me out for a rookie mistake here. I'm looking at his regular downtown, his 2024 optic downtown. This is actually his Panini 101 downtown. Okay. A different downtown. And in fact, that is the Allstar from Panini one and one. You're right. That is not the same card. You can clearly see that visually there. So, I got to get a little more specific. >> No worries. >> Um, let me type in one and one and see if I can find any more >> of those. Okay, so now we got the right variant up >> and there's only one. It looks like one sale, right? >> $1,875 is all I see on that. >> Let me let me take out the PSA 10 as well, just to see if I can see what these are going for in other grades. >> Okay, cool. >> Yeah, so $900 uh in case not graded. And then this was Oh, no. No, those are those are the other ones as well. Yeah, those aren't the right ones. Yep, it's just that one. >> Let me see if I can see. >> You know, I did see uh on the PSA website, PSA 9 uh did about 1275. Do you want me to show you that on the >> No, I believe it's right here. I just found it. >> Okay, cool. Perfect. >> There we go. >> Wait, is it 1275? >> Yep. >> There we go. >> 1256. 1256. >> Okay, so I was a little bit higher. >> 1256. >> Okay. >> And then raw, they're 800 to,000, it looks like. Okay. >> There was a raw for $12.99. Now we're getting back into December. >> Yeah. And this is when he was healthy, so we got to take into account that, you know, it was going to be higher because he was healthy. >> 818,000. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. There was He also had a little bit of a market peak at one point because people thought he was going to get traded. >> Exactly. >> Then he didn't get traded, >> which is pretty unfortunate cuz I was hoping he would. >> Yeah. >> Especially to the Knicks, but >> oh well. >> Yeah. This one was This one was from February the 4th. So a few weeks a few weeks ago. >> Okay. Okay. So, that could have been kind of buying at the low values or whatever it is >> might be. That's the only PSA 10 to sell. >> Okay. >> But I'm generally comfortable with that price because it's about it's about double the raw value. Maybe a little more than double the raw value. Yeah. 12250 raw, 1166 raw. But then they the raws definitely did dip some cuz like that 1,05 828. So, and then 1875 that I I would be comfortable even though it's it's sometimes a little scary to buy a car that's only ever sold once and this one in PSA 10 has ever sold once cuz sometimes you see the very first one that hits gets like a little bit of an extra premium. The next one that sells >> might sell might sell for a little bit less. Um cuz it won't be the first one to sell, be the second one to sell. Um >> but that is a fairly recent comp. What I would say is I would probably value it at like $1850. So basically just a just a tiny smidge just the last sale was $1875. I put it just a smidge underneath the last sale at 1850. >> Okay. >> So then if you wanted to do a deal on that 80% >> 80% of that. So$1850* >> 1500 >> 1480 1480 >> um yeah it' be 14 It would be 1480. If I did um >> 1875 on it you're talking 1500. So >> Okay. Okay. >> Yeah. So >> I totally see that. Okay. I >> I'll tell you what. I'll do 1,500 on it if you want to do it. I'll I'll go up to the 1875 and then do 80% on that if you want to do it because it is a downtown. Downtowns are liquid. People love downtown. So, for that reason, I I'll I do 1500 if you want to do it on that. >> I think the only reason I want a little bit a little higher and a little old maybe is because of the gem population being for under 50% and only having 13 population. So, I think I might have to be a little bit higher on the hold side of it. But, if you want to check this out, cuz I know you're a busy man. If you want to check this one out, if you can see something on there and maybe if we combined it, then we got a little closer to where you want to be. Okay. >> Then, you know, >> well, let me write a note on this and we'll see. We'll see if we can get somewhere on that. >> And I totally get it. If you want to if you want to hold on to that, that's totally fine. >> No, I totally appreciate you, man. >> I mean, the other thing to consider too with Giannis is if you're willing to hold that all the way till the summer, then you're going to get back into trade talk with him and all that kind of stuff. So, you know, if he if he lands at a new team in the offse, that will pop up. Of course, if you want, you know, you had to be patient to hold it till then, but that's that would be >> if you're willing to hold, it's not it's definitely not a bad car to hold. >> Hey, and that's why I come over to you, man. I appreciate you telling me that. Really, seriously. >> So, our offer, if you were to do anything, would be 1875 value, 1500 credit. Okay. >> But let's look up the Mac Jones and see where we're at on the Mac Jones. >> Okay. Awesome. Thank you, man. Yeah, because that is a gem pop. So, I know it's a little harder to kind of, you know, gauge into. So, >> okay. >> But, you know, >> 2021 gold standard. >> That's not a 99. >> Yeah, if you want to take it take it out the bag, check it out, check the quality of it, make sure it's okay. >> The only thing that sucks is that I didn't get it authenticated. >> I wish I would have got the auto and grade, >> but I mean, it says, you know, on the back, Panini authentic, blah blah blah. >> Yeah, I wouldn't for I mean, this probably isn't a valuable enough card to worry about that on. Okay. >> If it's a factory autograph like that, I I will tend to only do that if the card is at least $500 plus dollars. >> That's that's probably the only time because you have to pay extra for the auto authentication and everybody knows it's real. >> Um, you know, because it's got the Panini endorsement and it's a sticker auto from Panini. So, >> I I typically will only pay for that if it's like, you know, if it's a $1,000 card and and only the auto looks super clean. If the auto's going to grade a 10, I want the auto to grade a 10, then I'll do it. But if it's like a few hundred card, I'm I'm probably not going to bother. >> Hey, I should have talked too far. Get a 50 card submission over here. >> Oh, okay. >> Yeah, cuz I messed up doing that that way. >> Well, I mean, some people will pay a little extra for it. >> This auto would probably not come back as a 10 either. >> Really? >> Yeah, the auto would probably got the auto would probably get a nine. >> If you don't mind me asking, how can you tell? >> Because it's right right there. And let me show see if I can show it up to the camera there. See if we can camera focus. It's a little bit the auto is a little light. So what what they look at what they look at to determine the autograde is they want to see consistent pen pressure and they want to see that the entire auto is bold with consistent pressure throughout. If at any point in time the the pen pressure is kind of released and the auto starts to become slightly streaky or weaker in any one point, that's typically when they mark it down from a 10 to a nine. The other way they mark it down is if the auto touches the edge of the card or the edge of the sticker, then that also will deduct a point. In this case, you don't have that issue. The auto's perfectly centered. >> It's just light. >> But right there, it's a little bit light. And you can see it looks slightly that part of the You see that? >> Yeah. No, you can't do >> Yeah. So, I think that would I think they would give that an auto nine instead of an auto 10. >> That That's crazy to know your stuff that much you could detect that. I I trust me, I've graded enough of these and the grading doesn't always come back good. So, I've learned I've learned my mistakes, >> dude. No, that's awesome that you >> Yeah, that that would be a nine just because of the streakiness. >> Well, I appreciate you telling me that. >> So, I see one of these in PSA 9. It looks like just did 50 bucks in a PSA 9. >> Okay. >> Um, let's see if we see any other sales. This is a RAW that did $50 as well. >> Okay. Yeah, cuz I believe I have the only 10 cuz I went to the PSA website and the gem population was 110. So, >> and then here's a nine. Oh, that's a Oh, so this is a 10. So, this >> Oh, this might be what what number? >> That's the same card. >> Oh, it is the same card. >> Same card. So, the last time it sold, it sold for $65. >> I don't know what >> it it would be more valuable today because that was back in October. So, whoever bought this bought it for 65 bucks back in October. So, >> so funny. I got it out of a repack by the the app, you know, one of the apps. I got out of the repack and it was like PSA Gen Population One. I was like, "Oh, cool. Might as well come show you." So the So the repacker bought it off of eBay. >> Okay. >> And then put it in the repack. That's what happened. >> Because that is 37.99. Correct me. >> Yeah, that's the same card. It's it's literally the exact same card. Yeah. Same serial number on the PSA slab. >> Yeah. So you'd probably be at the same price of that, huh? >> Probably. Um I probably would use that comp. >> Uh I would I would have paid a little more because this PSA 9 sale >> makes me believe that this should be more than $65. But the and this raw sale makes me believe there should be more than $65 as well. But then that raw sale, that's weird. It's like, why is that one 15 >> and this one 15? >> Yeah. >> And you know, sometimes weird things can happen on eBay with cards at auction. And >> this was a fixed price sometimes, but sometimes people can also try to manipulate the market on some of this stuff as well. Yeah, >> I'm going to give you a little bit of a stronger price on it than the 65 because the last PSA 9 did 50 and that was at the eBay auction. >> Um I I'm going to say $75. >> Okay. >> If it if it was only if they were all around $50, I would go higher. I would go to like 100 plus in terms of the value. But since you got a couple of lower sales here on some of these others, like these ones even as well, um that makes me a little more nervous. So, I think I would say a $75 value on the card. So, if you wanted to do store credit on it, $60. So, if you were interested in that. >> So, then combine those two would be >> Okay. Hey, well, I think I'm going to hold off on those. I really do appreciate you teaching. >> Totally get it, man. Yeah, absolutely. >> I do appreciate the conversation, everything like that, and thank you for taking a look at my cards, man. They're nice cards. I hope you do well with them. I hope uh I hope that Giannis goes up for you and treats you really well. And maybe M. Jones, too. Maybe he gets dealt this off season. If he does get dealt this offseason, that could easily become a couple hundred card. So, >> hey, well, I appreciate you, man. Like I said, thanks for thanks for coming to Cards HQ. Appreciate it. >> You take care. All right. >> Wow, what a day today was at Cards HQ. The crowd is finally winding down. It was an unbelievable day. And how about those pickups? Wow. Wow, the stuff that came out to the buying room today. Unbelievable. Hey, I hope you enjoyed the video. If you did, please give it a like. Please give it a subscribe.
