Analysis Summary
Worth Noting
Positive elements
- This video provides a realistic, unvarnished look at the 'grind' of reselling, specifically showing how often a professional must walk away from items that aren't profitable.
Be Aware
Cautionary elements
- The use of high-energy 'chaos' framing in the intro and title slightly misrepresents the methodical and often disappointing nature of the actual work shown.

GI Joe remote control that goes to Power Rangers. >> Oh, these uh what is this? Micro machines. Yeah, it's a sure if it's going to be worth the value. Here's a really cool Lego uh technique. Since the line is too long right now, I'm just going to keep shopping around. See what else I can find. >> Are you like a resell? >> Thank you so much. >> Right now, it's a Friday morning. I'm outside a stranger's house waiting in line with other strangers for an estate sale. There's actually something really special about this sale is that they advertised it with video games right on the front desk. They have Super Nintendo, N64. I saw a Mario cart in there as well. I'm really curious what they're going to price that as. There's also a shelf full of vintage toys. So, I'm definitely going to go for those as well. But what I can't believe is how many people are already in line. I'm actually number 12 in line. I got here at 7:15. So, we're going to see what the chances are of me being able to grab anything good is still. I didn't expect this many people. >> I know. It's like a Friday morning and it's like not peak yard sale season either. >> Mhm. >> Yeah. Typically I don't check Craigslist for yard sales, but this happened to pop pop up and that one picture caught my attention. I was like, "Wow." All right, just a few more minutes left before the doors open to this estate sale. >> What number five? >> Oh well. in the kitchen. >> I don't know which gold. I guess this is >> Do I have to keep Do I have to keep this up here or do I kind of carry them around? >> Uh, let's come up here. Yeah. >> Okay. But what's your name? >> Uh, Tim. >> Tim. >> Thank you. >> Could I also see those PS2 games inside the case? >> Yeah. Let me just >> What do we got this price on world? You know, >> me. >> Nice. I >> think you got yellow in there, right? >> Yellow might be the PS2 games right there. Thank you, Switch. >> All right, I'll take these three. >> No, that's Thank you. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Gundam figures. >> Oh, damn. 25. Wow, that's crazy, >> man. They got a ton of Gundam things. >> I might have to make a move on all these things. >> Hey, how's it going? We are looking for the toys now. Let's go check out a bedroom somewhere around here. We're going to go check out a bedroom. Let's see. This ground nothing might be in the basement. It's going to be in the basement. Basement. Yeah, basement. It's always a maze exploring somebody else's house. They said to watch our steps so we don't trip. >> Oh, dang. Jake the snake with 200 though. Just a tad too high. I feel like I'm walking past some good stuff here. But check out that kitchen. What? See this? It's crazy. >> Oh, here's all the stuff. This basement has several rooms that way. >> Look at what he's grabbing. Nice. Hey, buddy. >> Are the biggest figures price? >> Uh, five each. >> Five each. >> Yeah, they'll learn that's not worth five each, but we'll find some stuff, right? I don't know. >> I'm wondering all the accessories and stuff. So this is like I would have >> Legos. >> Oh, the Jurassic Park compound. Oh, but for 135 135 is a little high. What? What is this? >> That's pretty cool. Pretty high though. Passengers Babies Technics. What? >> How much was How much was the Street Fighter guy? >> 52. >> It's not bad. It's dusty though. But >> yeah, I'll clean it up. >> Nice. >> Definitely a good display piece for sure. >> What is this though? Do you know what this is? >> I cannot remember exactly what that is. >> Oh, that's a remote control. That goes to power range. >> Oh, these uh what is micro machines? Yeah, it's a whole >> All these micro machines. Dang, that's crazy. Where are the cars though? >> Somebody took them. >> Oh, they did? >> Yeah. >> Oh, dang. >> Here, guys. Just check out some of the cool stuff they have. Prices are a little high, but you can hear people digging really. What is this? All right. You can hear a lot of people digging the prices. They pretty much look up everything on eBay, but this still super cool to see. I have one of this at home, but I'm missing a ton of pieces. But looks like they have some dinosaurs in it as well. Oh, that's pretty cool. Here's another Jurassic World item. I got some bits and pieces here, huh? Might if I >> go ahead. Yeah, go ahead. Go ahead. >> Find some pieces here. >> Yeah. Godzilla tail pieces. You have to really wear your toys. Isn't this right? >> Oh, yeah. >> What else do they have here? Got lots of cool University of Kentucky items here. Sports equipment. Nothing worth here. Nothing here is worth buying, but that's pretty cool. A repurposed uh fire hydrant. 165 though. All right, let's check up upstairs again. Oh, yeah. This clock. What do they have it at? $210. They advertise this without the price. Crazy. >> They don't. No, no hidden gems back here. Oh, wow. 31 bucks with the tag, but not worth the clean. How much is this value back then? Do you know? Uh I say like 200. >> 200 I think. So yeah. Wow. That's so cool. >> Little dusty. >> Go clean up my stuff. Nice. >> All right. We got the garage here. 10 bucks for a baseball. Well, that could be decent. This hedgehog is a little tempting at 15 bucks. Not for resale, but just for yard decor. Dog toys. It's not bad. This a lift. How much are you asking? 42 bucks. It's not too bad, actually, for a Pittsburgh. See? [snorts] Oh, Cal. You're asking 65. Let's look some of these up. I don't particularly like this golf clubs, but this is a pretty good set right here. You got Callaway Golf, Big Bera. Uh, looks like down here is Palmer ones, but looks like these three drivers might be worth something. I see a ton of tools at estate sales and yard sales. I just never touch them. This one's priced at 62. This looks like a really nice bag for a bowling ball, but wonder nice bags typically means they have high-end items. So, let's check it out. So, it looks like this bowling bag is worth about 37 used. He's got two bowling balls and this shoes is a Dexter slide right uh averaging about $15 in value. It's about $50 in value right off the bat, but I'm going to pass on that. Even though I passed on this bowling stuff, I learned something new about branding for bowling balls. So, it looks like a lot of these already pre-built. So, at pre-owned prices, I'm not sure if it's going to be worth the value. Most of these are priced at $18 or $25.49. This might be worth looking up. >> Man, somebody had a fun childhood here. >> That's pretty cool, >> man. Look at all these different styles, too. That one does not have a name. >> These were priced much much cheaper. I might actually buy more. But since they're priced pretty high, I think I just have to put them back. A lot of the comps for these are actually looking at about $21. So the prices at 40 or 18 are just too high. >> Going to have to pass on these even though it's really cool to see. They're >> right in the closet the other day. >> Since the line is too long right now, I'm just going to keep shopping around. See what else I can find. Ooh, this chair looks really cool. It is so Wow, it's only been 18 minutes since they've been open and things have been definitely ransacked. I'm going to do a double take in the basement real quick. Get in there. Pretty good price. I haven't checked this out, but I could actually. >> There you go. Good. Oh, wow. This is cool. What is this from? Is it Imperial? I don't know. Google. There you go. >> Any any bangers in there? >> Oh, just some fun Transformers parts and said the battles he mech warrior guy. >> Nice. I'm glad you got what you wanted. >> Thanks. Nice. >> All of them. So, I found two really cool Lego Technic ones. This one's asking for 20, but eBay comps are only at 15, so I'm going to do a pass on that. Here's a really cool Lego uh Technic $8412. It should have a motor apparently, but I don't really feel like opening up the box cuz we're asking $16 for it, and the comps aren't that great either. So, even though it's cool to see, it's going to be a pass. For anybody who knows what accessories to look for, this would have been the perfect place to dig. On the very bottom, you can see so many weapons. Uh, it's really hard to see what goes to what, but if you know your weapons, I think it would be a great opportunity. Like stuff like this, I have no idea what it goes to. Oh, Lego. No, this Mega Bloks. That's Mega Bloks. Oh, looks like somebody found a tail towards Godzilla, but it's super broken. Oh, man. Would have been cool though. Looks like there are some Power Ranger stuff. This is cool. Hot Wheels. But anyways, I think we might have to settle for these small few items here and the video games. Eight bucks. >> Eight bucks today. >> What's that? Is this what it is? I I couldn't Google it fast enough. >> His name might be JT Moore. >> Okay. >> I have no idea. But he looked pretty cool. >> Well, you got a job. >> I think I might pass on this camera. Is that all right? Yeah, you can see it. Uh, we got $2. We got >> feels really clean. >> Hello. >> Oh, sorry. And the baseball just dropped behind you. >> Got it. >> Thank you. >> Okay. So, >> how are you, man? >> How's it been over? >> Did we include the ball in the baseball glove, too? >> It was already in there when I got >> Yeah, but it's um the baseball we just >> I don't need the baseball, though. >> Okay. Um so, $10 on our glove. Definitely a different >> I'm sorry, Leslie. What did we say we were doing on these toys? >> Oh, these Well, this is >> Is this a What is this shoe? >> No, nothing. I think it just makes sounds. >> Three. >> Three. Sure. >> So, three bucks. >> Another toy. I didn't. >> These aren't yours. >> These are my 12. Yeah. >> All right. >> Three on that, too. >> All right. So, we got a game at 22. >> Game at 55. >> 26. >> That was a lot. It's pretty high. 19 >> 14. >> Yeah, >> I didn't see I didn't see that clearly, but >> these aren't priced. >> You need a bag. They're right there. And just you put your baskets back over there. That would be awesome. >> Hey, Leslie, what are we doing on the PlayStation 2 and Xbox games? Do we have these up here? >> Ask her. >> These were inside the cases that weren't priceless. >> Oh, there you go. Where's the thing? >> Okay. Oh, >> easier to take out. Maybe these were the No, these were >> those are older games, too, though. But Xbox One, >> Zone of the Enders and Took >> Here, let me just look at it real quick. >> Would you go 10? >> Oh, Zone of the Is that what this one? >> Yeah, that's it. >> Yeah. Zone of Venders and Dynasty Tactics. Yeah, she's got them. >> Okay. So, >> so eight and 10. >> So, we got eight >> on a game. Oh, that's a PlayStation. >> And we got 10. >> And what was the other one? >> Yeah. What's the other one that's over there? >> So, we got um The Zone of Enders. That >> Dynasty. >> Um these are >> Yeah, we already got that one. >> Um >> it's like OG. >> He got them priced over here. >> Oh, he does. >> Except for What about Dynasty T? >> Yeah, those ones are the >> Okay. Oh, this is the one we don't have priced. >> The Xbox. >> The OGI OT Xbox. That's going to be >> a toy. >> A toy. >> Yeah. Let's see it on there. >> Here. Let me just see if I can just bring up something for you. [snorts] >> O to myth of Demons. >> Okay, let me see. >> Are you like a reseller or you like >> um >> Oh my god, they're like >> 10. >> They're like 30 and 50, I would say. How about 15? >> Sure. >> Three. >> Sure. >> 22. >> I'm going to stick this back here. Would you say 15? >> Yeah. >> Thank you. >> Is this yours? >> Oh, good. I'm glad you got in here. >> Oh, yeah. >> And got something. >> You can leave it over there on the ground. >> Sorry to stall the line with that. >> No problem. >> That bat special looks awesome. >> And the shoe thing. The shoe horn. >> Would be a fun $5 spent. >> Yeah. Thank you so much. >> Thank you guys. >> So, I definitely spent more than I thought I would uh for small margins, but I had to get out with something after spending over an hour here. Uh so, it was kind of a hail mary, but I think I paid up for the GI Joe. I paid up with other stuff. I think the total potential profit will be about 150. Uh but after all that time, I think it was still a lot of fun to see what this house had was full of surprises. The moment the doors opened, it was pure chaos. The sound of hands digging through bins of loose action figures filled the room, and every table was stacked, some even with retro video games! An entire table packed with Gundam figures, and collectors shoulder-to-shoulder trying to figure out what was worth grabbing. Prices were all over the place — some items tagged near eBay comps, others a total question mark. Deals were tough, but I managed to escape with a few video games that still had enough margin to resell. This was one of those estate sales people line up early for… even when it’s freezing outside.
