Analysis Summary

30% Low Influence
mildmoderatesevere

“Be aware that the creator's openness about his 50% profit margin targets is a calculated trust-building exercise designed to make his offers seem fair rather than exploitative.”

Transparency Mostly Transparent
Primary technique

Anchoring

Presenting an extreme number or claim first so everything after seems reasonable by comparison. The first piece of information becomes your reference point — even when it's arbitrary or deliberately inflated. Works even when you know the anchor is irrelevant.

Tversky & Kahneman's anchoring heuristic (1974)

Human Detected
100%

Signals

The content is a raw, unscripted interaction between a shop owner and customers, featuring natural linguistic imperfections and physical object handling that AI cannot currently replicate with this level of authenticity. The presence of specific community references and a physical mailing address further confirms the human provenance of the channel.

Natural Speech Patterns The transcript contains numerous filler words ('uh', 'um'), self-corrections, and conversational stutters ('Denny, this is your uh Denny, this is your chip') typical of spontaneous human speech.
Contextual Interaction The dialogue involves a dynamic negotiation between two people with overlapping speech, specific references to physical objects (locks, silver halves), and real-time reactions to items being handled.
Personal Anecdotes and Community Engagement The creator addresses specific viewers by name (Denny), discusses fan mail, and responds to specific comments from previous videos regarding a local charity box.

Worth Noting

Positive elements

  • This video provides a realistic look at the margins and logistical hurdles of a brick-and-mortar resale business, including how to use 'sold' data to evaluate items.

Be Aware

Cautionary elements

  • The creator uses 'transparency' about his 10% silver premiums and 50% resale margins to establish a 'fair dealer' persona that may discourage viewers from negotiating more aggressively.

Vintage, made in Germany, BT >> early8s. And how am I going to open this lock? >> It's got the Doesn't it have it on the back? >> So, everybody can open it when you hang it. >> The white vent shows up quickly in the alley. Do you want to buy this? This is worth $5,000. I'll sell it to you for a grand. Hey guys, Pete over here. So, you know, now I'm kind of pre-screening some of the packages you guys send me. Uh, but this one came from Denny. Denny, you are a 3D printer. You do all kinds of stuff. I appreciate that. But Denny sent me my own poker chips with my logo on it that he made. That's very cool. And he also says in a letter that there's a QR code on back of these that if people scan this QR will take them directly to my YouTube channel, which is very cool, Denny. I appreciate that. He also made couple like little alligators here. That's awesome. And I think Denny, this is your uh Denny, this is your chip with your QR code on it. I really appreciate it. These are pretty cool. I like these. I can just give away these to people and somebody can quickly scan it and we'll take him to my channel. That's awesome, Denny. Love it. All right, let's get into today's video. [music] >> [music] [music] >> Little this, little that. And what are you bringing in today? >> Some real quality. >> Sometimes I wonder how you find this stuff. >> I get the best stuff on earth. >> Wow, this is oldie. Yeah, it's US I believe >> including uh including the box. >> Yes. >> Okay. 59. >> We do have couple of these but they always look kind of cool especially [snorts] if they do have cool advertisement. What does this one have? at Bordens. >> Bordens with the date on it, huh? >> Yeah. >> I think really the only two things I would be interested is the glass alen beer here. Canadian pride brand since 1877 and the box. The rest of the stuff I'm not interested in. >> Got it. >> What are you thinking? >> Well, uh, did you u look that one up? >> [cough] >> Not really, but I have a price in mine. >> What is your price? >> Like 15 bucks. >> And the box >> about 25. >> Mhm. >> So 40. >> Tell you what I'll do. I'm I'm easy. Make it U. >> You're easy. >> Always. >> Okay. Okay. I'm listening. >> Let's say 60. And we throw in all of it. >> And how am I going to open this lock? >> It's got the Doesn't it have it on the back? >> Yeah. >> So everybody can open it when you hang it. >> Well, you take the sticker off, you know. >> Ah, >> I mean this pair is these go for like 20 to 30. >> I know it's not a easy ship. >> Okay. If you want I'll do 60, but I don't want any of this stuff. Throw >> in this guy. >> I'll do that. >> Sure. >> Okay. >> Yeah. [snorts] Works for me. >> So, I'll keep the box. I'll keep the glass. I'll give you those two back. >> These wonderful brand new Look at them. >> No, I I can look at them, but that's about it. >> Fantastic. >> Now, here's the question. >> Okay. Are you interested in any silver that I can uh pop at you? >> Well, these prices, I mean, >> yeah, I'm kind of hand over spot here. >> I got a couple of these halves here for 35 each. They're 90% silver today. Price at the moment, >> 76. >> How are you? >> I've got so much silver. >> Okay, so we just got to do 60 cash. >> All right, sir. Let me put these back. And in the meanwhile, if I can have your ID and write you up, you can do it. >> It's an easy day off. >> On our last video, there was a lot of messages and comments messaging about the lady that took the donation from this box right here on the counter for the shelter that I constantly help out. And maybe a lot of people didn't know, but a lot of you guys are commenting, "Oh, I should never do charity like this on a counter for these companies because the money never goes to the correct place." And I agree. Some of these boxes that sit on a counters in different stores, they kind of are shady and who knows how much money goes really to the charity. But this particular place and the lady that you saw in the video taking the money out of the box, this goes to helping pause a shelter that honey came from. I know these people for very long time. Great people. I did a fundraising for them. You actually saw the video when I went there and, you know, did did fundraising for them and gave them a check. So, this is from them. I 100% trust the lady that picks up the money for them. Uh, she's on a board with them. Fantastic organization. So, I just wanted to clear it up because messages like this would come in or the lady is keeping the money for herself. Do not donate to any of these organizations. Just helps someone directly. So I always help directly but if I can also do this for our organization that I know I will definitely do that. I want to thank you guys from the bottom of my heart really for uh putting few dollars in here every time you visit my shop because you want to give me money like directly. Oh can you give this to the shelter? Can you give this to the shelter? I'm like just drop it in a box. So, thank you guys for so much. And I want to clear this up that this organization is actually fantastic and I love donating to them. Little older set, but still in good condition. What are you looking to get out of this Snap-on set? >> 350. >> 150. >> 350. I pay this. This is coming one. The one speaker, the toolbox snap. >> Mhm. >> I had a tool box. So look, this is what they're bringing on a used market, you know. >> Okay. >> Like 225, 212. If it's new, different ball game. Yes. It's going to go for for higher mind. This is just a box. Here's another one. 217. So roughly just a little bit over 200 they go for on a used market. >> Mhm. >> Because that's I put it in my storage. I never use it. Nothing. >> Yeah. I I couldn't offer you more than like 125 bucks. So, we are close. >> Mhm. >> But not I I can't do 150. It's just by looking what they're bringing. You know, >> I try to usually double my money. >> Yeah. >> If I give you 125, I don't think I can get 250 out of it. But I probably get two about 225. >> Let me ask my son, >> you know. So, >> back maybe later. How much did you take? >> 125. So, think about it. My oper stands. If you change your mind, you can always bring it back. Okay. >> Yeah. >> So, you have no idea if this works, right? >> No, it was a buddy of mine's um he gave it to me and I tried it. I usually play acoustic. I'm not a big fan of electric. >> Okay. >> And I tried it out for like um well, it was I tried it out with his amp, but um I don't know. I never really I didn't really like it. I guess I put it on a rock when I want to be a rock star, huh? >> So, listen. The amp I would be interested. The guitar, not so much. Not so much. >> This is a very basic starter guitar. I got a couple of them like that here. >> So, I'm going to say no to the guitar. What are you trying to get out of the amp? Any idea? >> This is not a very expensive company, just so you know. GMA is not, you know, big money or anything. >> I mean, brand new this amp is like $120, you know. So, >> how much are you trying to give me for? >> 25 bucks. >> 25 bucks. >> This is a amp that I'm going to put for $50 here in the shop, you know. So, and then I got to add this cable to it because you brought me no cable, you know. So, but it's totally okay. If you're okay with 25, that's what I can do. If not, I'm just going to pass, you know. It's just maybe try on Facebook Marketplace. You get >> maybe [clears throat] a little bit more. I mean, look, this this a brand new brand new unit. 112 bucks on eBay. You know what I mean? >> Used ones usually bring about $50, $60. So, >> yeah, I think I think I'll pass it, man. But I appreciate it, though. >> No problem. All right. Thank you. >> Can I take a look at the guitar? >> Absolutely. Yeah, take your time, man. In recent comments, I read quite a few of them that you guys were asking me if I can show off how much silver we have in the shop. Hey, Pete. I do love to see some of the silver deals you do. I'd be interested to see what kind of silver you have coming and going out of the shop, especially with the late craze. What's going on with silver price? So, silver came down a little bit. I kind of think it level out a little bit. It's right in that 70 to $80 range right now, but I don't have any silver. As fast as it comes in, it goes out at the moment. I have literally two walking liberty coins in here and two quarters. That's how much silver I have. I do have like sterling silver like some candlesticks and things like that, but far as bullion or that junk silver, I don't have anything. I don't have any 1 oz, I got nothing. So, um, people are still buying even though the silver is high and it's hard to me for me to do like show you guys what's coming and going because it happens so fast. It comes in and sometimes within an hour it will go out. So, very strange market. The way I do everything now, we don't even price anything. I do everything 10% over spot. So, whatever the price is currently, we tag on 10% to it and and that's how it goes. So, just quick update. >> Said I was a musician. >> Are you a musician? >> No. No. >> No. You just like gungs. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Well, give me a [laughter] minute. >> I'm sure I had one somewhere. >> This vintage made in Germany, >> early8s, >> and was part of the show. I thought about >> the Rocky Horror cast. The whole cast um it has a stamp >> a long time ago. >> Yeah. >> Has a stamp made in Germany. West Germany. So that tells you how long ago, you know, and it's a great uh great brand. >> Uh >> classic. >> Now it is a little pricey. >> I'll do I'll do 30 and then 20. >> Yeah, this is I think this is like 16. >> Um there I sold one that was 48. I shipped it all the way to Japan. >> Wa. >> The guy paid >> 48 in. >> Yeah. The biggest that Oh, no. 42. This place I was working at. I'm working at a uh >> 2200 hours in an apartment place. >> Plus guy paid where I can only work >> 350 for shipping 4 [clears throat] p.m. >> Yeah. You know, otherwise I get if I can work more hours this week. I get paid already. >> What do you think? >> I don't know. Yeah. Actually, what I'm looking for is a a lot bigger. >> Bigger one. Okay. Well, >> I have a 22 in. I was looking for like a 28 or 30 inch. >> Yeah. Yeah. Well, maybe >> I would I would buy >> You should have three. Another frame. >> You should have three then. You should have 16, 21 or 22 and then 30. >> I got a little one that was part of a windshine and a cannibaliz. >> But look at the history here. So, this was signed in 2008. >> Yeah. >> Uh but the the the gong itself is much older. So, no, >> not not today. No. >> 350 and it's yours. >> It No, it's too small. >> I I tried so hard and you're saying no. I thought I had one thing you wanted. >> Yeah. >> I appreciate you. >> That's okay. That's >> No problem. >> No problem. >> Kind of. Oh, yeah. I remember you said these are all vintage stuff, right? Well, 14 karat gold restored, re cleaned, serviced, brand new crystal. Yeah, it's >> I don't remember last time what I seen. >> Did you see like 50s60s move? >> I know cuz everybody has black ones. >> Well, yeah, because they got so popular later on like especially around 80s all that black dial type, you know, style. Yeah, >> I you know I personally I do enjoy and like stuff like this. I am kind of a watch guy, >> but for me far as like buying for resale these I don't think I want to make you an >> you know if you want to put one in your personal collection [laughter] >> you have your lunch >> and this one would be kind of hard to figure out to be honest with you because of the gold value >> like vitamin C in it and stuff. You got to take >> the odds out to see how much the bezel itself with the backing >> is the weight, you know. >> I got the $2 version of this one, too. It's got the big battleship on the back. >> And this one is 1918. So, I'll show you a crazy picture of you, but it's not mine, but wish I didn't tell you. I used to think that these $1,000 bills were kind of rare, but Pete's like, "No, I got tons of these in my wallet." And he showed me and he's got like six of them there. >> Who does? >> Pete. >> Really? >> He's got like $500 bills, $100 bills, thousands. This guy's loaded. But I guess monopoly, right? I guess that's why they're in short supply cuz he has them all. >> That's it. He's stuffed them all away. >> 23 million bucks. >> Wow. >> That's probably worth more than that. >> But that's crazy, isn't it? >> That is crazy to think about it. Yeah. >> Yep. >> How I want How many bills were made? Do you know? >> As far as like the $1,000 bill >> um and it's like probably like 400,000 or something like that. There's not that many. >> But there's still a good amount. I mean, they're out there obviously. It's not like >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Oh, these are very cool. >> On this one, they took the front plate from one set and they took the back plate from another set and they printed the bill. So, it becomes a mule build like a donkey as a a mule as a horse and a donkey. >> Yeah. So, they >> they call it a mule because it's made them together. Normally, >> your your um plate number would be down here. >> That would make sense. PS2. Yeah. >> Ah. So because of that and I know >> I mean I know it says sturdy very fine. So so it's I mean it's decent. >> Probably about a It's probably a $3,000 bill. >> Okay. I was going to ask you. I was going to say a couple grand, but >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Any any imperfections or anything that it was misprinted always adds huge value to it. Same thing with coins, right? So >> I just got a a $6,600 bill. The red seal. >> Uhhuh. >> I got it. I just got it graded and it's stamped on it. The Watergate office. >> Really? >> So, it was evidence from the Watergate stuff. >> No way. >> I'm like, that's sick. >> So, did did you get it back already with a great back and it's listed on the on the >> Oh, nice. >> I'm like, >> I wonder how much that's going to bring. >> I don't know. I don't want to get rid of it. >> Yeah, that's one of a kind for sure. >> Well, awesome. Thanks for showing them to me. >> Absolutely. >> I appreciate it. Yeah. I these, you know, >> yeah, I like I said, I wasn't expecting for you to buy them or anything. >> I know you wanted to bring them in to show it. Yeah. To me, but yeah, you do a great job. Like, and I know probably for some of them it's just hard to find parts, too, right? So, it's like >> for some of them. Some of them you got to buy another one that's junky and just salvage parts from another one. >> I see that a lot. Guys just sell lots of junky ones and the guys who buy them are the guys who are fixing them. That's what happens. Yeah. So, >> cuz I've been What happened to me is I broke my neck 3 years ago. >> Okay. >> And I've been still walking. >> Yeah. I am not near as good as I used to, but I'm still walking. >> But um >> I've been on workers comp for the last 3 years >> sitting at home and it's like >> you got to find a TV for so long. Started buying some junky watches. I got to figure out how to do this. And so I set up a little shop at my basement. Maybe you should since you do lot I know you probably enjoy them and you like to keep them too but the ones that you don't you should probably open up like a eBay or flip them flip them just so I can get more of what I do want. >> Yeah. Yeah. And >> you will get premium on eBay for them. You just have to wait for that right buyer. Right. And you might have to sit sometimes, you know, 6 months, 8 months on a watch. >> Yeah. >> But you know what it's worth. you put that price and you're just waiting for that one buyer who's willing to dish out that >> one thing I haven't started doing yet is like selling them selling them but uh I don't think it >> and if you want I mean I can definitely help you how to set up eBay and stuff like that and then you can do it on your own time slowly you don't have to have hundreds or thousand of items just few watches but you going to be then known for that guy who does this and you get a repeat business >> y >> so I I actually figured I was going to name my little story Time is money. >> Here you go. Perfect name, right? [laughter] >> Awesome. I appreciate it for showing it to me. Yeah. Thank you. >> How's my zoo doing over here? >> Huh? How you doing? You doing good? So, I want to mention something to you guys that you're going to see a transformation over the next few weeks here in the shop. And as I'm filming through the shop, you probably will see what's happening. I want to do complete like 180% swap between this main room and the the room that I have all the sports and antiques on. We're going to completely flip everything. I here right now majority of this room is here tools and and I got some knickknacks meaning like household stuff uh and electronics. I want to move all the tools and all this household items to the room that I have currently, the antiques, and move them up here so it's more presentable. And I think it will help me move some of the antique stuff. And you guys make fun of me that I say antique. I love using that word. I don't know. Antiques. Okay. My decals, my serious, my all my funny words. You love it. I know you do. Um, [snorts] but anyway, so the transformation is going to take some time. I think it's going to be at least two, maybe even 3 weeks before we move anything. And I'll keep you guys posted. I think it's a big project, but I think it's something as a viewer, you will appreciate and people as they come to the shop will appreciate, too. A little new look and a little bit more organized. So, I just wanted to share that with you. Why you Why you keep talking to my ear? Yeah. What? He went so loud today. Yeah. You and you. Are you working hard? She's working so hard. Look at this. She's been laying here all day long. This is a spot that gets a lot of sun and she just loves to chill here. Yeah, honey. Yeah, baby. Yeah. Yeah. In in a case. >> Is it with COA? >> I don't know. I don't know. I don't know how to I would know. Um, I know it it matches the ones that they sell to a T like in the frame rate that you buy like online that's that are certified that it, you know, it's his signature. But you take a look at it. I don't know. I don't know what this is, >> right? >> It's a home theater system. >> So, this is one of those, you know, um, the white vent shows up quickly in the alley. Do you want to buy this? This is worth $5,000. I'll sell it to you for a grand. >> Uh, unknown brand. >> Yeah. B&D acoustics. Uh, it claims it has all kinds of great stuff going on. You know, cinema 2019. >> I don't know. I don't I don't I don't pay any attention to any of this kind of stuff. You know what I mean? >> Yeah. 400 watts. This is going to be amazing. You know, they upsell you. >> Yeah. I know. Yeah. Yeah. I understand. Yeah. Yeah. >> I didn't think it was worth much money. >> No, I don't want this. >> I don't want this. But bring me the jersey. I'll check that out. Yeah. You want this box to keep them in or >> are you I mean you necessarily are you interested in those? >> Yeah, I might be. I might be. >> Yeah. I went there and I started looking around. I'm like why why can I not have my chainsaws that are in here in my And I talked to my girlfriend. She's like did you go to the right storage unit? Cuz I have five of them and one's in Kerry, one's in Crystal Lake here. I got one up in Elhorn, Wisconsin. I got just from where I I go get storage units so I don't have to travel with my buyer storage. >> So you just put them right in there. I put the good stuff and I try to get rid of it in that area when I'm out there. You know, it's kind of like a like a piggy bank in a way. You know what I mean? >> So, yeah, that sucks. I didn't know that this was that. >> I just saw it. I'm like, "Oh, it's brand new, so might be worth taking in there." >> So, yeah, I don't see no certificate. It's a nice case though. >> What's that there? Move that out of the way a little bit. Slay this. What I saw online was this. >> Yeah, >> it got scratched up a little bit from being in a storage unit, but >> So, it is a NFL sticker on it. The question is, >> is it for this? Because what usually happens, they supposed to put a sticker on the actual jersey. >> It looks like there's some paperwork or something in there. >> Okay. I got bolt cutters. You want to cut that lock? >> Let's cut it off. >> Cut the lock. Oh, we might not have to. This is all coming apart here. That's probably when I pulled it out of the storage cuz I I heard something fall. >> Oh, because this is magnetic. See, that's magnets. >> Yeah, that's why it's locked. >> Yeah, >> we could always just take these couple screws out right here if we don't want to bust the lock. If you want to keep the lock on there. >> I don't care about the lock. >> I got some small bolts here. >> I got I got some I think so. >> All right. Otherwise, I got a small pair. >> I don't know if they'll cut those. What? >> No. >> You think? Okay. >> Just like that. >> Here you go. We're I need you to come to the storage units with me, man. [laughter] >> All right. Hold. >> I'm hoping it's real. I mean, I Yeah, >> I'm hoping it's real. >> Well, it's a good jersey. It's Mitchell and Mass. So, that's the just the tag for it, you know. >> Yeah. >> That's original. Uh, that's got jersey made by Mitchell Mass. So, that's a good sign. Usually if it's fake, you know, they're going to use some cheap jersey. So, >> all right. Give me a minute. I'm going to try to look up this number and see if I can come up with anything. Okay. >> Sure. >> It was on the other side was a signature. >> Yeah. Yeah. But I I I care about this at the moment. So, >> in there. >> No. No. Because you see it right through it. Because this is like a throw on, you know, like >> you know, it's going to suck if it's not real because then I'm going to have a Mike Dick sign Mike Dicker jersey I'm going to wear around. >> [laughter] >> Not a huge bear. >> Nothing wrong with that. Me, too. >> You know what? I got a signed Bears hat, too. And I don't know who whose uh signature it is. >> Oh, yeah. >> It's a number four from the Bears, but it doesn't I can't tell for the life of me which uh which one it is. >> Okay. >> Well, at least that's a good sign, huh? Well, the jersey itself's got to be worth some money then, huh? >> The jersey by itself from Mitchell and Mass is probably worth about 120 to 150 bucks. Yeah. >> You know, so it it's a good jersey. Yeah, for sure. Now the question is if it's uh if it's legit, you know, autograph. >> Isn't there an app that would tell you if the signature is real? >> If there's not, we should develop it. >> Yeah. I don't you know, I don't think the app would even make sense because there's so many actually fakes out there that will probably >> the app would not recognize it. You know what I mean? Like >> so the bikes I would be interested, but not now, not yet, you know? end of March, beginning of April when the season starts. >> Five bucks in there every time I come. >> I think this is cool. It's a cool jersey, but I think this autograph is not real. >> Okay. You interested in the jersey in the frame? I mean, always have looked at see if it is authenticated. You know what I mean? >> I mean, it's a cool for some clean up. >> Yeah. Touch it up with a marker or something. It is cool because it's got this, right? So, it's a cool display piece for somebody if they have a nice cool man cave, >> right? I'll throw a hundred bucks at you, baby. >> You know, I think that's fair. >> See, I'm that kind of guy. I'm that kind of guy, man. Like, I don't want, you know, but you got to do me a favor. If you want to find out there's a $3,000 jersey down the road here, >> you got to kick me something if you find out that's real. Okay, >> I'm 100%. Okay. I'm dead. >> Yeah. And I'm that kind of guy. So, right. I'll tell you, you know, take it. You know, >> for all three of these also 100 bucks if you looked it up. You know, they usually sell for like $60 to $80. So, >> yeah. I'm You got to make your money too, man. I'm good like that. I'm good like that, man. >> You know what I mean? >> I'll just add it to your ticket. Okay. >> Sure. >> For another 20 bucks, you get yourself a sound system and get a nice gift to give somebody. >> What did I buy from you before? >> Uh the um >> Oh, the Craftsman generator and the >> Okay. >> All right. 20 bucks. Get you nice sound system. Give it a good gift. People be, you know, amazed. >> All 400 watts. >> [laughter] >> You're a good salesman. >> Well, that's cuz I own a construction company. [laughter] >> 26 years I've been in business. >> How much are all these rings here? >> Huh? So, everything that we do now, since gold is so crazy when it comes to price, we weigh it and we do a scrap price. So, Okay. All right. 20. Hey. >> Yeah. >> I charge. I charge. >> 20 40 60 80 100 20 40 60 80 200. Cool. Okay. >> Thanks, man. >> What's up, buddy? I had called for a VCR just now. >> You called for VCR just now. Were you selling one or are you looking for one? >> I was looking for one. >> Someone I talked to. >> Yeah, probably. Uh >> yeah, man. >> Carlos, let me show you where they at. >> We put the VCR tape the the thing itself cracking. We put it up inside a different >> VHA tape. So, we got a bunch of old tape we never throw away because we know the wet is on there. >> Oh, that's a thick one. Wow. >> Yeah. All right. I'll check you out. >> Nice. >> So, before we end today's video, we do the shout out for a eBay [music] store. This one is local. I got this letter from Tom and his wife. So, they have two kitties. That is awesome. I mean, look at their decal. [music] You can zoom in on that. Is that cool or what? Your eBay store name is Gilbert and Company.
